Satellite U200-124 - Unknown devices with Windows XP SP2

I downloaded Toshiba U200 drivers for Windows XP from this site, install Windows, install all drivers.
Well.
But i have 2 unrecognized devices in device manager.
1. NIC 1394. Device Code V1394\NIC1394\92423A3900
2. PCI Device. Device Code PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_803C&SUSBSYS_00011179&REV_00\4&6B 16D5B&0&5BF0
Modem & FireWire are not working.
What can I do?

As Ivan said the drivers are not installed correctly and therefore the unknown devices appear in the device manager.
The installation instruction shows the right installation order. This order is necessary and important to get all devices working!!!
Please visit the Toshiba European driver page, choose the right series and download and install the right and compatible drivers like mentioned in the txt. file

I was try to install Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit on a A505-S6004 (originally Windows 7 Home Premium) on a new disk. Having downloaded and installed numerous Toshiba website drivers for Windows 7 and installing, I have two things left in device manager that I don't know what to get for them.
    The info is under Other devices-Base System Device-PCI Bus 3, Device 0, Function1 and ..., Function2.
Any ideas what this may be?

It turns out I missed a driver, Ricoh Card Reader for Windows 7:

  • Conexant audio device driver won't install on T510 with windows XP SP2

I am having trouble in installing audio driver for Conexant audio device on an SSD with windows XP SP2 installed already.  After running the installer, it tries for a while, and says media device can't be found.  But booting from the win7-loaded internal drive, I can see it in the device manager.  I also see a few devices like base system device(?) in 'Other devices' category.  Could you help me get audio on the windows XP?
    Solved!

    Hi,
Thank you very much for your reply that led me to helpful information. Unfortunately, it didn't fix the issue, but I think I'm closer to the resolution of this issue.
So, I believed I installed Intel chip set and power management drivers, but did uninstall and re-install including .NET F/W 3.5.  Unfortunately it didn't work.
Your link led to pages of unknown/driver-less drivers and made me check more detail.  I had only 2 PCI devices left in 'Other devices' category, so I checked the details of those as below:
    1. PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0BE3: I searched this item on the web, finding that the vendor is Nvidia, but could find device 0x0be3.
    2. PCI\VEN_8086&DEV3B56: this is vendor Intel, but again no device found.  The closest one is SoL device, though.
So, it appears somehow the Conexant audio device is not even in 'Other device' category, and the intaller can't find the device.  I wonder if some other driver grabbed this device, so it's not available for driver installation.  I will do more investigation, but please help me address this.  Thank you again, and in advance.
P.S. : I don't see the SoL driver installed after installing Intel drivers, and there is no 'Ports' category in the device manager, either.

  • FMLE 3.2 and 3.1 can't detect an audio device with Windows 8.1

FMLE 3.2 and 3.1 can't detect an audio device with Windows 8.1 x64 on an MSI GT72-2QD laptop. I tried 2 different webcams but the result was the same. Both the internal mic and the ones going with the webcams work fine with other software but when I try FMLE it looks as follows:
It says that there's no audio device connected (although the mics work fine elsewhere), the dropout is blank and the audio parameters are grayed out and inactive even with the "audio" box checked. Both versions of FMLE work fine with the same cams on a desktop which has all the same tech specs but uses Win 7 x64. Running FMLE in Win7 compatibility mode or reinstalling with register cleaning doesn't help. What can be done about it?

    Hi Bob,
Thanks for the advice. It succeeded.
The steps I made was to make a disk copy of my original Windows XP disk using Disk Utilty. Then I renamed the disk copy into .iso. I copied the ISO file to my usb flash drive.
Than I started Parallels 7, created a new VM, selected the correct drive to install from (the usb flash drive) and volia, it worked.
    Finally...

  • Satellite L300 PSLBGE - Unknown device in device manager

    Hello there!
I would be very grateful for any help/hints if somebody has an idea what to do....
My gf has the above mentioned laptop (w/o preinstalled OS) and we can not get the display adapter to work properly - situation is as follows
    1) mobile intel 4 series express chipset family and an unknown device with a question mark in device manager
    2) both are on the same PCI BUS 0, device 2?
    3) intel is not working because it has no free resources (should I delete the unknown device?) to work with
    4) HW ID for the unknown device is pci ven_8086&dev_2A43 and for intel is pci ven_8086&dev_2A42 (so basically the same, right?)
    5) last, but not least, if I go to Desktop-personalize-advanced (first of all no 1280*800 resolution) i see under adapter type: . Exactly, nothing... under properties, this appears: non plug and play device, Super VGA and under driver, I see just the status and option to Stop, Disable, Automatic, Demand.... the device on startup... .If i disable it, the display just does not light up when the laptop is turned on....
Any ideas? I am going insaneeeeee......
Vista Home Premium, all other Toshiba SW installed (value pack, intel, BIOS 1.9, etc... - maybe BIOS did this?!)
    Thanks in advance!!!
p.s. maybe SP1 that I am installing now will help?!

    Hi
Wait a moment: I have checked Vendor ID and Device ID on www.pcidatabase.com and this device is the Intel graphic card. So I think this is the reason why you cant change the screen resolution.
I assume that you have forgotten to install the display driver. Check the Toshiba website because there you can download the driver:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
After this you shouldnt have any exclamation marks anymore.
You can install SP1 for Vista but this will not solve the problem with the missing display driver. But you should install it because it contains a lot of security updates they are important. Furthermore I would recommend to install SP2 for Vista.
    Bye

  • Compliance of Oracle 10g R2 with Windows XP SP2

    Hello everybody
I am representing my company for making a decision of deploying appropriate versions for Oracle and Windows.
The vendor suggested Oracle 9 on Windows Server 2003, whereas we opted for deploying Oracle 10g R2 with Windows XP SP2.
    According to the vendor
XP is not a true 'server' product and therefore does not provide many server functions and may have restrictions on numbers of users that can connect.
If the vendor's notion is correct, would anyone explain the limitations/restrictions of our solution.

One of the first problems that you will encounter, inbound connections limit in Windows XP:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314882
Memory allocations are handled differently between Windows 2003 and XP (paged pool, non-paged pool, file system caching, etc.):
    http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa366778.aspx
In some cases the memory allocation differences can cause XP to display errors indicating "unable to allocate memory from the paged pool" or the non-paged pool, when Windows 2003 would otherwise continue functioning without problem. Windows 2003 offers a registry change to work around this problem:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/312362
Microsoft will stop making Windows XP available for resale in June 2008, except on extremely light-weight computers, and update support will end before update support ends for Windows 2003.
There are typically differences in the hardware that ships with a computer loaded with Windows XP and one that ships with Windows 2003. You will have a hard time finding a computer with Windows XP that ships with redundant power supplies, dual backplanes, SCSI RAID 10 support, dual network interfaces, built-in system/diagnostics, etc.
While Windows 2003 is the server equivalent of Windows XP, there are many features in Windows 2003 that are not available in Windows XP. XP is designed to be rebooted frequently (shut down every night, or reboot once a week or once a month) and is geared toward foreground application performance. Windows Server 2003 is designed to be rebooted infrequently (apply security updates, recover from rare system fatal bugs) and is geared toward providing good background application performance (the Oracle database instance would be a background application).
If you are unfamilar with Windows Server 2003, take a look at the books "Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Administrator's Companion" by Microsoft Press and "Mastering Windows Server 2003" by Sybex. Compare what you find in those books with what you might find in Microsoft's Windows XP Resource Kit book.

  • Thinkpad X300 with windows xp sp2 gets blue screen after standby.

We have a Thinkpad X300 (with windows xp sp2) gets blue screen after standby. I mean after you close the lid then open it. Anyone has see this kind of behave before?
    Thanks,

I have found the solution to this problem - hope you are still watching the thread.
Express install in parallels seems to be the culprit. Do a custom install instead and set your own virtual hard disk size. I set mine to 12 Gb (12000 Mb)and made it a fixed size instead of "growing" or whatever the heck parallels calls it. I also chose shared network instead of "bridged" (I read that someone else had identified this as part of the problem).
After making those changes it worked like a charm.

  • G555. Need drivers for SM Bus and another Unknown device for Windows XP.

I try to install Windows XP on my G555. I got all other drivers, but cannot find drivers for SM Bus and an Unknown device. And what's this device?
The second problem is that after I installed all the drivers, the card reader disappeared. It was there after I installed Windows XP, before I install drivers.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Simpleguy,
    Welcome to the forum!
In thinkpads, it's usually intel chipset driver. For AMD based G555, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the driver you need:- http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_show_2476.html
As for other unknown device, find it's PCI ID with any other known information and paste here.
    Hope it helps.

  • Several Unknown Devices after Windows 7 Home Premium Reinstall

After losing all my data trying to encrypt my hard drive I reinstalled windows from my hard drive using HP's settings in the boot menu and got some weird results. One is that my C drive now only only has 65 gb of space, so I created a new partition with the remaining 215 gb on my hard drive. Additionally, my screen resolution has only 2 options, leaving my desktop looking strange. The worst of these problems is that several of my hardware items are showing up as unknown in addition to my wireless internet not working. Hi @LynnFlores ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. Thank you so much for all the steps you have taken to resolve. Very helpful. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion TouchSmart 14-b164tu Sleekbook and issues with the Touchscreen after an update with Windows 8.1. Here is a document on how to troubleshoot this Touchscreen with Windows 8.1.
Please start  at the top and work your way down. As they do seem silly but we need to know if something does not finish correctly.
Please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices, as these could cause some issues.
Listed on the page shows you about a Touchscreen driver that is available. If you go into the Device manager and look under Human Interface Devices. Do you see the driver listed there?
If no, do you see something listed under other devices?
If touch functionality still does not appear to be working correctly, follow the steps listed in the document to calibrate the screen.
    I hope something here helps.
    Thanks.

    Unknown Device
Device Type:     Universal Serial Bus controllers
    Manufacturer:    (Standard USB Host Controller)
    Location:            Port_#0002.Hub_#0004
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
I'm trying to figure out what this device is before I open the laptop and start poking around.
Any info would help, thanks in advance.

I can remove all external USB devices and the issue still exists. The internal webcam is USB and working fine, so is the toutchpad but also working fine. I suspect another internal USB device, but I have no idea what else is USB. I don't use the WiDi and wondering if that is considered an internal USB connected device.

  • Satellite L450-171 - Dual boot with Windows 7 and Windows XP

    Hello all,
I bought a Satellite L450-171 with Windows 7 pre-install. For reasons of compatibility, I installed Windows xp on on another partitition of the computer.
But in the starting up, I do not see both operating systems. I see only Windows xp.
Please how could I make to have the option of run also the Windows 7?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi
    > But in the starting up, I do not see both operating systems. I see only Windows xp.
This happened because the Win XP has overwritten the Win 7 boot manager.
The EasyBCD is great tool but you have to install this in Win 7.
But how to do this if you cannot boot into Win7???
Well, for this you will need an original Win 7 disk (not recovery disk).
You could boot up using Win 7 disk and this will repair the Win 7 boot manager.
Now you could boot into Win 7 and could install the EasyBCD.
Then start EasyBCD and insert the Win XP OS entry into Win 7 boot manager
After new restart the Win XP and Win 7 should appear in boot manger and you could switch between both OS.
