Satellite U300-111 - Which Windows 7 version you can recommend?

Hello everyone!
I have a friend with a Toshiba Satellite U300-111, and she wants to install Win7 on it.
Since it's got a T7100 processor, I'm thinking she could install 64bit version, but it seems like there are far fewer supported drivers compared to the 32bit.
Do you recommend her going for 32 or 64?

Yes, for older notebooks you have a better driver support on 32bit OS because 64bit OS is only necessary if you have 4GB RAM or more installed. Otherwise you can only use 3.2GB RAM.
So if you have more less RAM I would recommend the 32bit version. :)

I have a Windows 7 Home edition installed. The problem is, when I run the "TOSHIBA-242-detector" on the Toshiba support site it detects the OS on my laptop as a Windows Vista OS. I clicked Computer ==> Properties and the result indicated that a Windows 7 premium Home Edtion is installed - hence my confusion.

Please ensure that the Intel Matrix Storage Manger was included into the Win XP setup.
During the installation of XP, setup will ask you to include the 3rd partly sata drivers.
Then you should press the F6 button und could include the Intel Matrix Storage Manager from the external USB FDD drive.

I installed Lion 10.7.4. Went to use Photoshop Cs and got a popup window. You can't open the application Adobe Photoshop CS because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. Is there a way of getting this to work or do I have to get the all new!

PowerPC applications are unsupported in newer versions. You can upgrade Photoshop or you can install Snow Leopard in a partition.
1. Open Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities) and select your drive
2. Go to Partitions tab, press + button, create a new partition and press Apply
3. Insert the Snow Leopard install DVD and reboot pressing C key
4. Install it in the new partition
5. If you want to change boot, go to System Preferences > Startup Disk and select 10.7

XP Home, XP Professional, Vista Home, Vista Business?
I see that XP takes up 1.5GB versus Vista's 20GB. XP uses 128MB Ram versus vista 512MB.
It would seem like XP would run faster and take up less space... but is it the best choice? Thanks for the suggestions.

You know we can use AF_Modules/AddSOAPHeaderBean module to add soap header by using the method of Praveen blog"AddSOAPHeaderBean" module. From which PI version we can use AF_Modules/AddSOAPHeaderBean? We are using PI 7.0 SP 12, but we find we couldn't use it cause the communication channel monitoring gave the following the error after we configured that parameter: "com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NameNotFoundException: Object not found in lookup of AddSOAPHeaderBean."

CS3 windows version how can I run it on an iMAC

I want to upgrade my PC and I am thinking of getting an iMAC with 24" monitor but no one can tell me if I will be able to use my windows version of CS3. I have Lightroom and that seems to run in both platforms.

You certainly can't install Windows software directly on a Mac. If you
have Lightroom which runs on either platform its because you have
installers for both Mac and Windows software, which is not what you
get for all programs on the CS3 disks. With rare exceptions you would
need to buy ALL your software again, unless the vendor offers both
versions on one disk, or a way of upgrading between PC and Mac.
However, if the Mac is running Leopard, you can buy and install
Windows XP (full retail version, using a disk which came with a PC is
NOT allowed) and then boot up Windows in place of Mac OS X. Then you
can run CS3 for Windows, and any other of the Windows software you
don't want to buy.
I wouldn't personally recommend buying Vista instead.

How do you close an information window when you can't see the close button?

One of my Macs is a trusty old G3 iMac and since version 8 I've had a problem with the information window you get for podcasts when you click on the 'i' button. The window goes to the full screen height, in fact it goes beyond because you can't see the top and button. Therefore I can't close it with the mouse or move it.
I also can't find a keyboard shortcut that will close this window, so I have to exit iTunes and re-start, which on this machine is a slow process.
Anyone help welcome - is there a keyboard shortcut?

...that's the sound of me hitting my head on the keyboard. I never knew about Command-W because, you know, it's only a menu option IN ALL THE APPLICATIONS I JUST LOOKED AT!
Oh well...you learn something every day...and I would like to point out that if you use OSX Leopard's help system and search for "keyboard shortcuts", Command-W isn't mentioned.

This won't be easy, but you can get the address table by sending IOCTL_TCP_QUERY_INFORMATION_EX to \Device\TCP as documented
here. You'll need to spend some time looking at TCPIOCTL.H in the SDK, too. If you search the Internet for IOCTL_TCP_QUERY_INFORMATION_EX, you'll find some hints on how to use it.

Simple request: use whatever j2se version you can find

I've got an application that will work with any version of java >= 1.2.
I am trying to set up my JNLP file so that it will handle that. I happen to have java 1.4 beta3 which I suspect is causing problems. That's the only version of java that I have installed right now, and I cannot figure out a way to say this in the JNLP file.
I have tried
<j2se/>
-> complains about no version number
<j2se version=1.2+/>
-> tries to dl 1.2
<j2se version=1.3+/>
-> tries to dl 1.3
<j2se version=1.4+
-> says that 1.4 isn't at the sun site
1.4-beta*
1.4.0-beta3
1.4.0-beta*
-> same thing
<j2se version="1.4 1.2+"/>
-> tries to go to the website at sun 1.4 1.2+..
What can I put? Am I just out of luck since I am using 1.4 beta? I'm sure I could fix the problem by installing an older version of java, but I suspect that some customers will be in this situation and I'd like to be able to very simply say: whatever j2se you've got.... use it!

There is something about this in the documentation. The problem is because 1.4 is still in beta, and not FCS. It says:
Java Web Start does not consider a non-FCS JRE to match a request for a particular platform version. For example, a request of the form <j2se
version="1.4+"> does not consider an installed "1.4.0-beta" JRE as a match for the request. An application wishing to run under any beta J2RE must explicitly specify a product version, i.e.,
also using the href attribute in the j2se element. For example, a proper request for a beta JRE:
<j2se version="1.4-beta" href="http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se"/>
So for a non-FCS version of Java, you need the href. If you want only 1.3 or 1.2 platforms, you can do
<j2se version="1.3+ 1.2+"/>

When I run RSA1 Tcode I am getting error message You can only work in client 001. Can some please advice.

Since BI tables are cross-client, BI can work only in one client. By default BI is configured for client 001.
If you want it in different client, you change it in BWMANDT field of RSADMINA table.

TS3988 I am using mountain lion. iCloud works fine with my iMac iPads and iPhone with one annoying exception. I cannot use the systems preferences on my iMac because I cannot log in. When entering my apple id and password I get a window saying "You can

I cannot log into systems preferences for icloud on my imac. icloud works on all devices including the imac, but I get the window "You can't sign in at this time" when using system preferences on the imac. I am using mountain lion, but it didn't work on lion either. Help

You may wish to try the following:
1. Sign out of your account
(If you are unable to do this because System Preferences has frozen, Force Quit System Preferences and try again)
2. When prompted, opt to delete, contacts, calendars etc from your Mac.
(You are only deleting this data from your Mac, not from iCloud, the data will be reinstated when you log back in. If you need to check that the data is in iCloud before deleting it go to iCloud.com and check each section for data)
3. Having logged out, check that the iCloud accounts along with their data have disappeared from the Mail, Address Book and iCal Applications.
(If necessary, delete the iCloud accounts from each of these application separately from each Applications Preferences)
4. At this point it may be worth trying to log into iCloud from the System Preferences iCloud settings again, if this works, all well and good, if it doesn't continue to step 5.
5. Open your User Library folder in the Finder. (When in the Finder, go to the Go menu, hold down the option key (alt) and choose Library when it appears in the Go menu)
6. Navigate to Library > Application Support > iCloud and drag the iCloud folder to your desktop. (This action only copies the folder and will provide you with a back up)
7. Select the iCloud folder again in Library > Application Support and drag it to the trash, enter your administrators password when prompted.
8. Restart your computer.
9. You should now be able to enter your ID and Password in system Preferences > iCloud and log into your account. Check the services you wish to use and once you are satisfied it's working as it should, trashh the iCloud folder you copied to your desktop earlier.

When opening a new window, any clicks within the new window click through to the original window so you can't scroll or save from the new window.

Anytime that a new window is opened (such as when sending an email message or opening a pdf) I am unable to click on the new window. I can't click send or click on the scroll bars of the new window. If I attempt to click on the window it clicks on whatever is behind the window instead. If the new window opens with a cursor within it then I am able to type or scroll through with keyboard arrows, but cannot click or use the mouse scroll buttons. I also cannot choose items from drop down menus with the mouse (even in the original window). I must use the keyboard arrows to select any menu options.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
