Satellite U500-1FN: Would like to have a backlight keyboard

I have this model u500-1fn without backlight keyboard...
If i buy a backlight keyboard for u500 will work?

Its depending on the mainboard The mainboard must provide a second keyboard connector with illumination because the standard connector doesnt support backlight.
So you must remove the keyboard and check if the other keyboard is supported. If yes you can order a new keyboard from an authorized service provider with illumination and hopefully it will work.
Another guy has replaced the keyboard on Satellite A660 and this worked:
