Satellite view of map not available Nokia 5800

I have updated to the latest version of Nokia Maps. However, when I switch to satellite view, I do not get the satellite view. I have downloaded India map to my handset.

i have one more problem exist that when i complete download india map everything is Ok and it shows that india map is in your phone but when i disconnect my mobile and reconnect my phone then it always shows to download india map..and also not shows the satelite view even i also download a low size country map which is zimbabwe and it works perfect with satelite view and also shows everytime map on phone when i connect my phone to computer .i am not understanding what to do please help anyone

I have recently purchased a Nokia 5800, downloaded Ovi maps, checked for current upgrades(my software is 50.xxx.xx.x) etc but when I attempt to launch maps nothing happens and I am returned to the menu page. Can anybody help..?

Just to elaborate on post by farby when you say "downloaded OVI Maps" do you mean that either you downloaded regional mapping 5800XM with microSD inserted or that you updated particular version of OVI Maps application installed on device?
When you say that "nothing happens on attempting to launch OVI Maps" do you mean application opens then crashes or doesn't open at all?
If it opens then crashes it usually means that you should delete E:\CITIES + .qf file from memory card, re-start OVI Maps when you get a setting up progress bar which re-defines folder structure on microSD required by Maps facility within OVI Suite on your PC.

No satellite view in Maps?

Satellite view still works on my iPhone and on my mac, but the controls to switch to sat view are not there on my iPad. is there a way of changing to satellite view?

You should have at the bottom of the map something that looks like a turned up page. Click on that to set satellite view. Click here for Gmap image

"Mobile Data Not Available", Nokia 700

Hey all,
I have a bare bones pay-as-you-go plan. All I get are free unlimited texts and free unlimited calls (within the country). I get no data and, frankly, I don't care for data. I do get annoyed that every so often while playing Angry Birds or using Nokia Maps or any of a number of other applications I will get the "Mobile Data Not Available" notice. How can I disable this notice? It is tiring and I KNOW I don't have Mobile Data. Duh! Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello TheRooster, the games are provided with some advertising option. This is Because the games are provided for free. If you buy the full version of the games then this won't occur.

Satellite view in maps N96

Hello everyone.
I have a problem in that I can no longer get the satellite view in Nokia Maps. I used to get it and have tried in locations where I used to see this layer but it aint there! I still get the 2D and 3D views.
I assume this view is web based - when I start maps I get a message saying 'maximum number of connections in use close an active connection first' I ok this and disconnect from service ISP (Vodafone.ie in this case)
Then get a prompt 'no internet connection select options, tools, go online. Do this and just get the same message - no internet connection.... - repeating.
I assume thiss is all to do with my connection settings but cannot solve it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

You need to change your internet connection from "Internet" to "WAP Services" in Tools-->Settings...

Places view as map not working- iPhoto 09

I'm not sure how long I've had this problem, but when I click on Places, the view as map screen is just gray. It works fine if I view as list. Does anyone have any suggestions to troubleshoot this problem?

Here is what I did to trouble shoot:
Checked to make sure my iPhoto was current
Checked settings to make sure they had not changed
Tested a second library (opened iPhoto while pressing Library) and saw the problem is with iPhoto, not my library
Removed receipts per this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3249
Uninstalled and reinstalled iPhoto
Deleted the iPhoto cache in my Library
None of these worked
I looked at the post linked to above that said that Safari might be the problem, even though I never use Safari I first emptied the cache and deleted all cookies (though I think all you need to do is delete Google related cookies). This is working for now, hopefully it will continue to work.

View as HTML not available

I am having a strange problem. I had installed mail for Exchange 3.0 on my 5800XM couple of months back. For last couple of days the option of viewing the email in HTML mode is not available under options. The option comes back if I reinstall Mail for Exchange from Ovi store but goes away after any reboot.. The software version that I am using is 3.00(73)
Any suggestions from the gurus.

User mapping not available

Hi all,
I have installed EP SR1 . I am trying to map a system to a role. When i try to user mapping it asks for username ,pwd for the system.
When i enter it and save it ,its throwing the following error.
Any patches ?

Hi,
User Mapping, we have to install encryption packages, if you are not concerned abt security, one work around is
goto System Config->UM Config-> Select Direct Editing Tab and change this valuefrom FALSE to TRUE.
#Use usermapping without strong cryptography (IAIK). It is strongly recommended to keep the default value (FALSE). Only change this setting, if you cannot install a cryptography provider due to import and export regulations. Then, if this property is set to TRUE, the usermapping information will not be encrypted.
(Type: Boolean, Default: 'FALSE')

I have a problem with Firefox when trying to use Street View in Google Maps. It basically kills the browser by being extremely slow. Now, this happens only when using SNA acceleration (default), but not with UXA or GLAMOR (just removed on latest update or xf86-video-intel). Everything else works fast and good with SNA, including WebGL in Firefox. Moreover, with Chromium I don't have this issue: Street View works fine with SNA.
This is an Intel based laptop with Gen5 Intel graphics (and in case it matters, I use KDE desktop):

Anyone else noticed this? Any idea of what can be the problem?

Ovi maps problems with Nokia 5800 xpress music

Since Ovi updated the maps I've had trouble using it. I have version 40 firmware which was installed by Vodafone when my device expired. Despite the update, Ovi maps just crashes the phone when I try to use it. The screen goes blank and I get all coloured lines flashing down one side and the phone reluctantly restarts. Any advice please?

I am having exactly the same problem with my 5800 xpress music having updated to version 40.0.005.235.10 and installed the new version of OVI maps and the software Own Voice.
I have also tried reinstalling the sotware, restoring my phone to factory settings and resetting my phone by pressing the green, red and camera button whilst powering up. The problem persists. I will be making a call and within a few seconds of the call being connected the phone switches off and back on again. I also get the the coloured lines flasing on the screen.
Please Nokia Support, help us out.

Smart View for Essbase Not Available in Planning Rapid Deployment

I have successfully deployed EPM 11.1.2.3 by following the steps in the Planning Rapid Deployment guide (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E40248_01/epm.1112/epm_planning_rapid_deploy/epm_planning_rapid_deploy.html). However, when I bring up Smart View using a Shared Connections URL of http://<servername>:9000/workspace/SmartViewProviders, I only get connections for Planning and for the Reporting and Analysis Framework. How can a I get a connection for Essbase?

As it turns out, the 11.1.2.3 Planning Rapid Deployment wizard doesn't install Essbase Provider Services, just Planning Provider Services and Reporting and Analysis Provider Services. Until I installed Essbase Provider Services, I wasn't even able to create a private connection to Essbase. I had to run InstallTool.cmd and select "Provider Services Web Application" from the Essbase section of the selection screen. I also had to run the configuration utility and select "Deploy to Application Server" under "Provider Services" in the Essbase section of the selection screen.
After that, I was able to create a private connection to Essbase with this URL: http://<server name>:9000/aps/APS
Although the private connection was now working, the Essbase connection was still not showing up as a shared connection in Excel, when I set the Excel Smart View option for Shared Connections URL to http://<server name>:9000/workspace/SmartViewProviders. I was able to get this working by running the configuration utility again and selecting "Configure Web Server" in the "Hyperion Foundation" section of the selection screen.
I was also able to create an XML file as Celvin suggested, using http://<server name>:9000/aps/APS for the Essbase connection. Thanks for the suggestion!

I have not been able to get to the good part of configuring the ZBF.
I've looked over several configuration examples and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, since I'm not able to see the command 'parameter-map' under the 'policy-map urlfiltering'

I am having the same problem. I have seen a few diffenent configuration examples and they all show adding the "parameter type urlfpolicy trend parm-map-name" command but it doesn't exist, at least in 15.2(3)T1 and I see it listed in the the IOS documentation for 15.2. Maybe they forgot it :-)
I guess I will open a TAC case as I do not want to downgrade...
I will keep you posted if I find the answer.

The way i did it yesterday, to update and install new maps, was to use the Nokia Ovi Suite on my computer, If you dont have this you can download it from a link on the Nokia site,http://www.nokia.co.uk/support/download-software/ovi-suite
Then simply open Ovi Suite on your computer, connect your N900 via USB, click on Maps on Ovi Suite, select the maps you want and download them,
The system first removes any old maps, then downloads to the computer, then transfers to N900, all very simple, but does take some time depending on how many countries you want to download. you can also add additional maps at any time,
Or you can download from the Ovi site just using your N900

Image Maps not available?

I have RH8 and noticed the html "image map" functionality does not work in a generated a Word document and/or a PDF document. Can someone confirm this is correct? I looked around for some kind of setting, but I can't find one.

This would seem to make sense that Image Maps would fail to convert to a medium primarily intended for printing.
