Satellite X200-21W - Does multi DVD drive have labelfash and securedisc?

I have an Satellite X200-21W Modell Nr. : PSPB9E-03U01WGR with the multidvd TS-L632H.
My question
Does this drive have labellash and securedisc, or only one of those, or nothing
Thx for your support

Unfortunately, I didn't find any details about the Labelflash burning technology but from my knowledge only the Sony NEC Optiarc, TEAC, Quanta Storage, und Pioneer drives supports this Labelflash burning technology.
The TSST TS-L632H is no listed as a supported product so I think it doesn't support the Labelflash but *Lightscribe*.
Best regards

  • Does external DVD drive have to be Firewire?

    Hi
My Mac mini's optical drive has packed up, it also needs an OS upgrade, I am therefore shopping for an external drive (the internal option is actually more expensive) does it have to be Firewire to boot from the DVD?
    thanks

    James Harries wrote:
does it have to be Firewire to boot from the DVD?
No, for any Intel-based Mac, external drives (optical or otherwise) do not have to have Firewire interfaces to be useable as boot drives. PPC-based Macs cannot boot from USB drives (actually, a few can but this is not supported by Apple or recommended) but Intel-based Macs can boot from external drives with either interface.
However, external drives with Firewire (& to a lesser extent USB) interfaces should have hardware/firmware that is compatible with the Mac startup sequence. Most do, but some do not, in which case they will not boot the Mac even though they are in all other respects useable as external drives. Typically, externals that have an Oxford brand (for Firewire) or a Cypress brand (for USB) interface chip are the most trouble-free ones for Mac users.
Among others, Other World Computing sells external drives & cases that meet these requirements.

Hi Jolly, I tried 3 different HDD's all of them were reformated and reimaged with the HP image from this laptop. When I try to populate the drive, it just closes the window. Same with the dvd drive. Other then no able to write to the dvd/cd drive, everything else is perfect. But that is not good enough...

Yesterday I opened up the iMac and reinstalled the drive to make sure that it was not an alignment problem.   I still can not eject.   When I try to eject the drive makes noises like it is ejecting but the disk does not come out.
How do I solve this problem?

    Hi again Hal
Link to your other thread > The slot loading CD/DVD drive in my...: Apple Support Communities
You have also tried resetting the PRAM as I suggestion in your other thread...?
See resetting the PRAM > About NVRAM and PRAM
    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    3. Turn on the computer.
    4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
    5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    6. Release the keys.

Yes, if you are in warranty. Take it in, only Apple employees can speak for Apple ( we are users here, just like you).

  • What dvd format does macbook dvd drive support?

I am having difficulty using DVD+R playing back on my macbook pro from 2009. Any thoughts?

some DVDR media wont work on various DVD drives. Memorex and some dark layer Sony disks are notorius for this.  the ONLY DVD blanks that work on every DVD player made, and are the most reliable are the JVC  archival blanks.  However these cannot be found in average retail stores, they need to be ordered    make sure to get DVD+R,    DVD-R are, in all brands, have a higher unreliability rate and their nature is high reject to write ratio, and are more corruptable.

    Hello.
It's impossible for me to find a good working graphics driver ?!!
Actuelly I have installed the 195.81 from laptopvideo2go, but there are some problems, like yellow lines at the screen when looking pictures, or problems with 3D-programs like sketchup ......
    Has anybody the same problem?
    with kind regards

    Hello
Im not wondering about these lines on your notebook screen because you are using display driver from latptopvideo2go I also dont have good experience with these drivers like overheating. So at the moment Im only using Toshiba display driver
Have you tried this driver? The Toshiba website shows for Vista 64bit a driver that should work on Windows 7 too.

  • Satellite M30 - restore from external DVD Drive

    Hi,
I have a Satellite Pro M30. There is a problem with the internal DVD Multi Drive - the replacement will take a month or so to get here. I need to perform a restore on this machine. I have connected an external DVD drive to the machine. When I boot up the machine boots from the recovery CD but then seems to be looking for a drive X. I get the following messages on the DOS screen:
    Device Name : TOSCD001
    Number of Units: 1
CDR101: Not ready reading drive X
    Abort,Retry,Fail?
    Please insert Recovery CD-ROM #1!
    What should I be doing?
    Regards,
    Sameer

    Hello Sammer
Unfortunately the recovery media is created to be used from internal drive only. I dont believe that you will be able to use it with external device. On recovery CD there is a ghost image and it is not easy to arrange it for usage with external device.

  • Satellite A100-785 PSAANE - CD/DVD drive issue

    Hello Friends,
I own a Toshiba Satellite A100-785 PSAANE and its configurations are as follows:
    1.87 Ghz C2D, 1 Gb Ram (512 + 512), Windows Vista Basic, CD/DVD read/write...
Issue: Its been quite long, i m facing a certain problem with my Optical Drive. When ever I insert an CD which is originally produced by any company it works fine. The moment I insert any CD which is personally burned with some data from any normal CD/ DVD writer or the CDs which were previously created by the same laptop mentioned above, its been read as a blank disc. The data of the disk is not shown.
For eg: Lets say if I insert any software cd like my webcam's cd or my printer's cd they can be read normally and work fine. But the moment I enter any cd which is been burned by me which contains my personal files, that is been read as a blank disc.
This issue does not exists with any of the DVDs. Doesn't matter which every dvd I insert either being a normal software dvd or being the one which is burned as a personal data dvd, everything works fine and all the data in dvd can be read.
I have tried reinstalling the driver, I have tried reformatting my laptop using the Toshiba Recovery CD provided with the laptop, but the issue still exists.
In between few months ago, I tried doing some tweak, like first i insert the cd in the drive and then disable the cd drive and then enabling it again would actually read the cd. But after few tries, this also stopped working.
Now I really have no idea what should I do to make my CDs work normally.
I hope this post can help me out.
    Your help will be appreciated
    Thanks for your precious time

For me it sounds like a DVD, where the data has been burned, were not fully compatible.
I meet such issue on different computers. A friend of mine has had the similar problem with an non Toshiba notebook. Its matter of the disks which are used for burning.
I tested several brands and now Im using TDK and Verbatim because my CD/DVD drive supports these kind of disk properly.
Of course it could be an hardware issue too but in such case you will need to replace the CD/DVD drive
