Satellite X200-252 and Vista sound mixer problem

Hi,
My Satellite X200-252 is running under Vista Home Premium operating system.
I have strange problem with sound mixer. After (I think) some security patches applied my vista stopped from recognizing the sound device.
The taskbar sound icon on the right side of the screen is marked with red cross and while im clicking the icon the info-window states that there is no sound device connected.
When I select the properties, I see all 3 output devices, i.e. internal speakers, hdmi and digital output. However no icon is displayed in the window. But the configuration is working.
Moreover the keyboard shortcuts as well as touchpad works as expected. I mean I can mute/unmute etc..
But I can not change the volumes per channel. For this I need the mixer app.
What I can do to repair my comp?

In your case I would recommend reinstalling the sound driver.
As far as I know this notebook supports an Realtek sound card.
You could visit the Realtek website and could download the sound driver directly from this page.
You need an HD sound driver.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!! USTREAM PRODUCER and MY SOUND MIXER NOT WORKING TOGETHER

Currently I am using ustream producer. I have a sony video camera plugged into my Macbook Pro via firewire 800. I would like to be able to use my very nice sound mixer with my xlr headsets. The only problem I've run into is that in Ustream Producer I can't overlay the sound from my soundmixer over my camera feed.
Can Ustream Producer not recognize a sound mixer?????
I have already asked this question on the ustream forums and tried contacting ustream directly, but neither one has helped me out yet.
I'm using a 13 inch MacBook Pro.
Please, someone help me out, this is getting very frustrating.

These are your options.
1. Obtain an installation CD for some version of Windows that handles the NTFS file system (NT, 2000, XP, Vista, 7) and install it in parallel to a different folder on the same partition. See (for example) KB266465.
2. Create a bootable CD with another OS and tools on it. See BartPE, Knoppix, UBCD4Win, and Ubuntu.
3. Remove the hard drive and place it in an enclosure accessible from a desktop via USB.
For the last option, see the first few steps here.

Satellite M40-225 and Vista PCMCIA driver

I lost my original disks for my M40 so bought a copy of Vista to install on my computer, when I first installed it the computer would not start up so I looked on the internet and it seems there is a conflict with the PCMCIA drivers and Vista. I followed the advice on the forum and managed to get vista to load by deleting all the files relating to the PCMCIA drivers.
Vista now loads but I am unable to find update drivers to get the PCMCIA slot running. I use this port for my wireless internet has the internal one was very slow with my router. Ive tried downloading the drivers from Toshiba but there is no Vista ones. Ive reinstalled the originals but they still dont work although Vista now loads. Does anyone know of a solution to my problem?

First of all the M4 I dont understand why there is a conflict between the PCMCIA drivers and Vista!
The drivers are included in the Vista OS so how did you remove such drivers and how did you install the Vista on this notebook?
Furthermore the notebook supports the PC card slot and you can use the PCMCIA R2.01, PC Card 16(multi-function card) and PCMCIA 32bit cards. The BIOS controls this slot.
Maybe you have to update the BIOS before you will install the Vista on this unit!!!

Airport Extreme, Airdisk, and Vista - large file problem with a twist

Hi all,
I'm having a problem moving large-ish files to an external drive attached to my Airport Extreme SOMETIMES. Let me explain.
My system - Macbook Pro, 4gb ram, 10gb free HD space on macbook, running latest updates for mac and vista, external hard drive on AE is an internal WD in an enclosure w/ 25gb free (its formatted for pc, but I've used it directly connected to multiple computers, mac and pc, without fail), AE is using firmware 7.3.2, and im only allowing 802.11n. The problem occurs on the Vista side - havent checked the mac side yet.
The Good - I have bit torrents set up, using utorrent, to automatically copy files over to my airdisk once they've completed. This works flawlessly. If i connect the hard drive directly to my laptop (macbook running bootcamp w/ vista, all updates applied), large files copy over without a hitch as well.
The Bad - For the past couple weeks (could be longer, but I've just noticed it recently being a problem - is that a firmware problem clue?) If i download the files to my Vista desktop and copy them over manually, the copy just sits for a while and eventually fails with a "try again" error. If i try to copy any file over 300mb, the same error occurs.
What I've tried - well, not a lot. The first thing i did was to make sure my hard drive was error free, and worked when physically connected - it is and it did. I've read a few posts about formatting the drive for mac, but this really isnt a good option for me since all of my music is on this drive, and itunes pulls from it (which also works without a problem). I do however get the hang in itunes if i try to import large files (movies). I've also read about trying to go back to an earlier AE firmware, but the posts were outdated. I can try the mac side and see if large files move over, but again, i prefer to do this in windows vista.
this is my first post, so im sure im leaving out vital info. If anyone wants to take a stab at helping, I'd love to discuss. Thanks in advance.

Just noticed the other day that I am having the same problem. I have two Vista machines attached to TC w/ a Western Digital 500 gig USB'd. I can write to the TC (any file size) with no problem, however I cannot write larger files to my attached WD drive. I can write smaller folders of music and such, but I cannot back up larger video files. Yet, if I directly attach the drive to my laptop I can copy over the files, no problem. I could not find any setting in the Airport Utility with regards to file size limits or anything of the like. Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Satellite x200-252 USB Hub driver

Hi.
I removed USB Host Controllers and USB Root Hubs from the device list of device manager. After restart system, USB Root Hubs is not installed properly, but as "unknow devices". It works, but vista is trying to find properly driver, but unsaccesfully (after every restart, after input any usb device...).

Have you already tried to reinstall the chipset drivers? Normally those install this needed USB driver.

Time Capsule and Vista (HD connection problem)

Hi, I've read all posts with lots of people trying to use TC and Vista, tried all suggestions, but still stuck.
The "router" part is working great, I have TC connected to my desktop (Vista Ultimate 32bits) wired, and wireless working fine.
But for some reason I can't connect to TC HD. it says I have to enable NETBIOS. I already did this (properties on tcp/ip), but no luck.
any other suggestion?

Hi All, just to contribute here my solution for this.
after making sure the computer browser services was up, I opened the networking and sharing center, clicked on the "view status" of the connection, and then on the "properties" in the new window that opened.
Then I added 3 things there (was not there by default, don't know)
+ Link Layer Topolgy Discover Mapper I/O Driver
+ Link Layer Topology Discover Responder
+ Client for Microsoft Networks
After that, worked like a charm. Now I'm trying to use TC with Account Access, w/o success (if I put disk password goes fine).

Satellite X200-252 - Toshiba hardware utility - cant launch under Win7

I have installed HW utility, I can see its icon in Toshiba Assist but it doesnt launch. I see in task manager process "control.exe" appears for a sec. I tried launch it as admin, tried with vista compatibility but no luck. Anybody has it working under Win 7?

You have installed Vista version of Toshiba HW Settings?
I don't know if this will help but try to remove preinstalled version from the system and try to install Win7 version for other notebook model like Satellite P300. Maybe it will work.
Problem is that Win7 drivers, tools and utilities are not available for your notebook model.

Audition 2.0 Vista Sound Card Problem

I hope someone can help me with the following problem;
When I start up Audition 2.0 on my laptop with a conexant audiosmart soundcard, Audtion gives the message that no supported audio device was found. Audition shuts down, so I am not able to adjust any settings in Audition itself. The soundcard itself is working properly. Do I need a certain driver to get Audition to work? Or do I need to adjust certain settings in the setup of my soundcard?
I hope someone can give me an answer to this problem.

It might be that the laptop has jack input sensing. Try starting the machine with something plugged into the audio input sockets. If that does make it work, then select an input that avoids the jacks e.g. "Stereo Mix" as the Vista default recording input.

Hello mscott48, From your description, it appears that Vista may have become corrupted.
I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did before becoming corrupted.
If this is the case, you would beed to perform a clean install of Vista to resolve the issue.
I'm not sure if your system will boot from a USB device, but if it will, you would need to enter the BIOS and make sure the first device is set to a USB device and then try and boot the Vista DVD from your external DVD drive.
This may create issues with the boot loader for your Linux distro, and if it does, you would have to deal with that as well.

Xboard 61 and Vista x64 driver problems

I cannot install the driver for my Xboard 61 without this happening. I've done the following:
-run as administrator
-changed the integrity setting to "ON" using BCDEDIT
-run driver setup in an unpacked driver application folder
-checked to see that emuumidi.sys is installed in system32 folder
-re-checked to see that the same Xboard works on my extant XP x32 system (and it does)
I'm at a loss for what to do. Emu has email support now and its hasn't provided any answers.

If the link doesn't work, search the microsoft site for update KB936330 (x64 version).
I had many driver problems with all kinds of hardware on my computer with vista x32. I downloaded SP1 (but for x32 version) and all those problems were solved.

Satellite P10-554 and pinnacle studio 10 problem

When i start using pinnacle studio 10 I get message that I need newer version of display driver. I am using 4.4.8.5. an d cant find later one for my display adapter.
I am using nvidia geforce fx go5600.

Did you look on the Toshiba drivers download page or new version of graphic driver?
Generally you should always use the Toshiba graphic driver because it has a own protect function because of graphic overheating issue.
But you can try to use the driver from Nvidia at YOU OWN RISK.
The other drivers could damage the graphic card!!!

Hi, i got a Toshiba Satellite X200 23P with Vista.
my flash card slot is not working, i'm using a SD card which i already used some month ago and worked well.
When i put the card nothing happens.

Please go to Toshiba support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Download, choose on drivers download page your notebook model and there you will find this driver. Click on the small red symbol at the right side to pick up info what it is.
Without many questions try to download and install this driver to see if this will help to make your flash card slot to work properly. You cannot do anything wrong.

Satellite X200-15K - Flash Cards has stopped working

Hopefully you will be able to use Flash cards again.

Satellite X200 - disk management

I've a Satellite X200 notebook and I have a question for it.
I would like to know if it's possible change Hard Disk configuration (RAID0 instead RAID1 and so on) and how to do it?
I tried to find change option in BIOS environment but nothing!!

first of all thank you to answer to my question.
I have a Satellite X200 with two HDDs. I have to say you that I contacted customer care to have explanations about and they told me that there are no possibilities to change configuration. Notebook doesn't have a RAID controller so it is not possible to do any change in BIOS.
If you have different info please let me know.

Fixed my sound crackling problem! Soundblast X-fi Xtrememusic c

I received my Soundblaster X-fi Xtrememusic card yesterday evening and having sound crackling problem. I could hear this crackling sound whenever I play music CD or play Battlefield 2 and it was annoying,? So I searched Google about this and found a thread on this forum about a bunch of people having this same problem. I just thought I should post my problem/solution to see if this fixes for you guys. The issue with my system was because of my wireless Belkin Pre-N desktop card. Here is how I found out:?. Was having crackling problem so I reinstalled Windows XP w/ SP22. After Windows XP installed, the first driver I installed was for?Soundblaster X-fi card3. Tested the sound by playing music CD. Couldn't detect any crackling sound.4. Installed Belkin?wireless?Pre-n desktop card driver and crackling sound returns. >5. Uninstall Belkin driver and turned off computer6. Put in my old D-Link DWL 520 Wireless card and installed driver for it. So far X-fi seems to like D-Link DWL 520 card!?I tested with D-Link DWL 520 by listening to music and downloading 28mb file off Nvidia and no crackling sound! I hope this help for you guys!
