Saturation disappears upon render

Hello,
Just started using Lightroom and it seems I've hit my first problem I can't find an answer to.
I took a few shots today with my 50d with a higher saturation using the Landscape setting. Now, the saturation appears in the LCD on the camera fine, and for a split second before the image loads in Lightroom during the "Rendering Preview..." process the saturation is evident. But as soon as the image loads, the saturation disappears and the images appear as if the setting did not take effect. As I export the images to JPEG and into photoshop, the same occurs.
Is it because I am shooting in RAW and lightroom reverts it back to the non-saturated state? If so, how can I regain the saturation when exporting or even to view in Lightroom?

The Canon DPP software that came with your camera or is available for download.
They really are amazing the way they are and am confused as to what the point is to offer such styling options if you can't do anything except print them from the camera without being able to apply even basic edits to them somehow.
All this can be done in DPP. Lightroom will not recognise camera processing when shooting RAW (which is rather the point of shooting in RAW). DPP will. You can always shoot RAW and jpg, import them as separate images and have both in LR

You are seeing the jpg preview embedded in the image until LR is able to build its own preview of the actual file itself.
You may want to work your way through the tutorials via the help system to better understand the benefits of using LR. However if you are happy with the results you get from your camera and don't require the functionality of LR stick with DPP.

Try changing the camera calibration profile to "camera standard" and setting that as the default (hold alt or option and click on the "set default ..." button. Also make sure you do not have dynamic lighting enabled in your camera. This underexposes the raw files and writes an instruction for Nikon software in the nef file that compensates. The result in non-Nikon software is that your files end up underexposed.

When any pdf opens and we search for a text in pdf using "Search Text", the result gets displayed in the "Results" section. But if i click on search multiple times for the same word or any other new word, the search does not return any result. In other words the result gets disappeared from the "Results" section and re-appears after a few clicks. This is easily reproducible upon multiple click on "Search" button. It has been noticed that the result count is correctly seen but no result is seen in the "Results" box when this issue occurs.
Any resolution will be appreciated.

Update Rules changes from 1 ODS to another disappear upon activation

Dear Experts,
We have encountered a situation whereby we have an update rule from ODS feeding a field update to another ODS.
This update rule change works correctly as I have debugged it and you can see the resultant changed in the new (40) table. But upon activating this change, the field change disappears.
Can anyone provide an explaination and how I can go about fixing this ?

If the data source support deltas and we load the data into ODS then the update type for the keyfig. Amount and the quanty always Choose as "Addition" .So you change the update type for that KF as Addition .

Getting an object to disappear upon click.

I'm new to flash, just simply using catalyst to make a video player to import into my iweb site. I have a play button in the middle of the video area (changes upon rollover), and I want to get it to where on click the play button disappears so that its not blocking view of the video. Sort of like this...

note that when you click the play button it disappears and controls for the video appear below the video player. Can someone help me with this whole concept. If possible could it be where if they hit pause in the bottom controls (what you would see at the bottom on the normal flash players) to have the play button reappear in the center of the player.

Titles created in Boris title crawl disappear after render

I build a title roll in Boris Title Crawl for a weekly TV show that I edit in HDV 1080i60 (that is how I get the footage) that airs on Dish Network and DirecTV. I build the end credits in Boris Title Crawl using the "Roll" animation style. The roll will appear in the perfect position on the screen. However, sometimes over time and subsequent rendering, the titles will disappear completely from the screen, and I believe they are being positioned far off to the side outside of the viewable area. The wireframe for the roll remains in the correct position, it just appears empty. If I re-open Boris Title Crawl and then click "apply" again, the mispositioning is corrected, at least for a while. If I try to export using quicktime conversion to another format (Quicktime Movie with H.264 compression), the roll might disappear again, and the movie will export without the roll. This has only been happening since upgrading to FCP 7, I don't recall it every happening with FCP 6. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I don't use Boris regularly, but when I have, I never encountered this, and I doubt it's related to upgrading to 7. If I understand correctly what you're describing, the changes could be caused by any number of things – like whatever cutting took place on your TL "over time and subsequent rendering" causing re-renders.
How many v tracks do you have and is the crawl on a separate track? Consider exporting the credits clip as a QT movie and reimport it.
And somewhat off topic, typically I get better (and far more predictable) results by exporting my sequence as a QTMovie (current settings) and do all encoding (e.g., H.264) in Compressor.

Object with gradient feather disappears upon export to pdf

I'm troubleshooting a file where an object with a gradient feather disappears from the exported .pdf file. The rest of the file is perfect. I've tried different .pdf presets. I've tried moving the offending object to its own layer at the bottom of the layer stack. I've tried copying all the art to a new file. I've tried grouping everything. Nothing is working. I can successfully export to .jpg format. I'm using InDesign CS5 on an iMac. Thanks for any suggestions.

Mobile drop down menu won't disappear once I have clicked one of the links in the drop down to take me to an anchor further down the page. I want the drop down to disappear upon clicking and scroll at the same time.

Basically I have a drop down menu, which i have tried to create numerous times with different widgets available in muse or as freebies on the net.
The menu within the drop down is a manual menu and each button links to an anchor on the page, so that when clicked the page scrolls to that anchor.
My problems is that once I have clicked one of the links to go to the anchor further down the page the drop down remains. For the purpose of User Experience and fluidity across the mobile design i would like the drop down to disappear on click of the anchor link. Is this possible?

The remainder tabs disappear upon closing one tab.

After opening up multiple tabs 3 or more, the tabs appear normally. However, after closing one, sometimes the remainder 2 or 3 tabs disappear but the one window is intact but and no tabs. If I close the window, I get the message, 'You about to close multiple tabs," which I am fine because I have selected that option.

Titles Move Out of Register – Upon Render

I have a project I am using some basic trasitions and some titles. The title I am using is feature. I have moved some different titles to the 4 corners of the screen. When I do a fast render, the title stay predictably in place. When I render at different sizes (1080) or out to DVD, the titles render shifted down on the screen or even off screen. (the title in the top right corner renders off the left side of the screen in the center). I don't understand why the different rendering sizes effect the position of the titles. The only thing I can relate this situation to is in Adobe flash, when the registration point in a movie clip is out of register, it causes the movie to display out of register.
Has anyone experience anything like this? Is there a fix?

I'm going to try to make an educated guess as to what is happening, and offer a suggestion...
I work a lot with Motion.
Since Motion 5 was "completely rewritten" for 64-bit processing and as the effects design tool for FCPX, Apple changed a number of "core" items related to positioning. This positioning redesign is based on 0, 0 as the coordinate of the center of the canvas. Every other point in the canvas is given as a fractional value between -0.5 and 0.5 either horizontally or vertically. This assures that no matter which template frame size a Motion template is designed in, say for example 1920x1080, that the mathmatical translation of the design will fall on the correct part of no matter what the frame size OR aspect ratio is... so, if you're working on a 720x480 SD project and use a template designed for 1080, the objects in the template will be arranged at whatever the fractional distance is from the center to the edge of the project, when the user places the effect(/etc.) in the storyline... Based on this, I would guess that your problem would be "normal" behavior for FCPX (doesn't seem fair...)
Which brings me to your project. You are using a 1080 project and rendering out at different sizes. Those titles and transitions are using the project proportions and distances from the center to determine where to place those items that belong with them.
So my suggestion, I'm sorry to have to say, would be to go out the Project level and duplicate the project. Resize* the project for the destination output rendering and take a look at the positionings of the titles, etc. and see if they need adjustments. If you need to "clean" any of them up -- wherever you place the objects shouild at least render accurately after you make your "repairs." There is a chance that FCPX will do a reasonably good job in working the scaling adjustments once the new project parameters are established... so, I hope you have good luck with that.

PDF Comments Disappear Upon Placing into InDesign CS5

I am creating an InDesign document in which I need to pull information from several files. One such file is a PDF with comments inserted via the typewriter tool.
Upon placing into InDesign, the comments do not appear, although the original text within the PDF does appear.
Will you please tell me if you know why this happens and if there is a workaround?

Field disappears upon pdf export

I have a field that simply disappears when exported to pdf. When printed directly out of Crystal, everything is fine. It is a formula that simply subracts one field from another. It's placed in the details section. Any ideas?

Images disappear upon running program

Can not find the answer to this, though I've seen the comment
before. I'm publishing to inetpub for a project I'm working on to
test locally. Many times when I run the application, my images,
inside an images folder, disappear from the bin (localhost) folder
and I have to recopy them. Suggestions?

Try un-checking the "Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps" option under the General pane of System Preferences and then opening Safari. This disables the resume feature in lion. It isn't a permanant soloution but it might help narrow down if the resume feature is responsible for this.
Edit: It might also be worth fiddiling around with the homepage settings such as setting it to only open blank pages in new windows and new tabs instead of opening your chosen homepage and see if there is any problem there

AVCHD Dolby 5.1 M2TS project downmixes to stereo upon render

Hi all,
I hope somehow would be kind enough to help out here.
I have a Sony HDR-SR12 AVCHD camera, recording projects in Dolby Digital 5.1. All videos load and edit fine on the timeline, and I can output to an M2TS file with full Dolby Digital 5.1 via the Surcode plugin (Dolby Digital 3/2 preset). There is only one 5.1 audio track on the timeline.
However on playback, only the front speakers are utilised. My amplifier correctly tells me the source is 5.1, but there is only silence in the rears channels. Upon playback of the raw .M2TS file, the audio plays back in proper 5.1.
I've looked at all obvious options, and there seems to be nothing else to tweak. Any ideas?

Ben, you *must* use a 5.1 Master track type on your Sequences, otherwise you get stereo audio.
1. Go to File > New > Sequence
2. Choose a matching AVCHD Preset
3. Click on the Tracks tab
4. Change Audio Master from Stereo to 5.1
5. Click OK
This should do the trick.
