I want to save large pdf files from my computer to my iPad so I can view them in Adobe Reader. I do not want to view them in iBooks or Quickoffice. Since I cannot email these large files, how can I get them on my iPad? Thanks for your help.

I think that Adobe reader supports file sharing.
Connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. Select the iPad on the left side under "devices". Click on the Apps Tab in the window on the right. Scroll down to the File Sharing Apps list under the main apps list. Click on Adobe Reader. Drag the documents into the file sharing window on the right or select them using the "add" button.
Launch the Adobe reader app and the files should be in there.

Why is it impossible to save a modified file since my computer is on Windows 8.1? What can I do?Photoshop Elements FAQ List

It shows up as Drive :E.  I was able to copy my entire collection earlier on F drive.  But it would not copy just the pics I had selected.  I'll probably get it worked out before the next mililenium.  Thanks.  I'll keep on working on it. I'll yell again if I have a major operator error situation.  I really do want to be able to copy only selected photos though.  All I could find in the Editor tab was to Backup.  I really don't want to always copy my entire backup files.

How do I down load converted files back to my computer

    Hi zipperxx
If you are using ExportPDF service you can visit http://www.adobe.com/exportpdf and login with your Adobe id ( Email id registered with
adobe) and password and from there from file section you can download the converted document. Please let me know if you are using other than ExportPDF
service. Also i would like to know workflow you are using.

  • Converting files to another computer

My question is my friend and I work on projects together, but he uses a Macbook Pro and I use the iMac. I like to work on projects in final cut pro and he likes iMovie.
For some reason, iMovie on the Macbook Pro doesn't not take .mov files. So I have been converting them to MPEG4. But the quality isn't the same. When we put it together.
Is there an easier way to do this?
    Please help!!!
    Thank you!

This is not strickly an answer to your question but it may help you going forward. The way we handle issues like this is to insist that all project team members working on the same project use the same tools. Time is too valuable to waste trying to convert project products due to incompatibilities.

  • Computer turns off when importing CDs and converting files! HELP!

    Hi everyone,
I'm having trouble importing music from CDs and converting files on my computer. The computer just turns off when I do these things and I'm really stuck as to why. Can anyone help?

I just started having the same problem. I was able to import songs from 5 cds with no problem, but when I tried a few more my mac started shutting down about halfway through the import of the song. It doesn't matter how many songs I choose to import, it happens on the first one everytime. Did you find a fix for this?

  • Converting files with Camera Raw 4.1

Have just upgraded to iphoto '08, and am having problems with "noise" in the raw conversion within iphoto. So, I'm using Camera Raw 4.1 instead (a bit of a pain as I have a batch of 200 photos to convert from a wedding!).
A question ... can you save the converted files directly into iphoto?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks.
    Jayne

No, you need to save them to another folder and "import" them. If you just store them directly in the iPhoto Library it will confuse iPhoto.
However, you can convert all 200 and import them at one time.

  • How can I save information (game variables) onto a computer? (cookies?)

I have a "death match" game that I have hosted on freewebs.com (that is working perfectly). I want the game to store information on the computer that visits my site, including player experience and money so they can close out of their browser and then come back and have everything still there. How can I do this?

Currently, I save a text file to my computer when it runs that contains the information I need. Is it possible to include that file inside the JAR and simply edit that? Not really. For one thing, editing the jar would require the same permissions as editing any other file. Secondly, it makes deployment really complicated when the contexts of jars are changed by the users. Third, the jar might get overwritten when the user downloads the page again later. If you're going to save the data in a file on the user's computer, it's easier just to make it a plain text or properties file (or XML if you really want to make it more complicated) in the user's home directory or a similar location (for example, if the user is using Windows, you could put it in home/Application Data/ or whatever it's called.
I suspect that cookies are easier still though, but I haven't tried it either.
In the past when I've had to do things like this, I found it easier to store the data on the web server using a CGI script, but I don't know if freewebs even allows that.

  • Why suddenly will Adobe not print a PDF file but will only save as .prn file I cannot print

Why suddenly will Adobe not print a PDF file but will only save as .prn file that my computer will not recognize?  This is a new problem never experienced before.  I have tried updating all versions of Adobe Reader but still no results.

  • I want to reinstall firefox for mac after uninstalling, but now whenever I download there is no corresponding file in my computer. I want firefox, help!

I was having lots of problems with my firefox and the upgrades never worked on my mac, so I uninstalled. Now whenever I try to reinstall it through the homepage (and the more page that lists versions by language and OS--I am using Safari to download), the download "finishes" but there is absolutely NO file anywhere on my computer that represents a downloaded file. No .dmg pops up on my desktop; even when I search my computer there is virtually no file. I've tried this now about 20 times. I just want to use firefox!

    Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems?esab=a&s=troubleshooting&r=3&as=s#w_5-reinstall-firefox here].
<b>WARNING:</b> Do not run Firefox's uninstaller or use a third party remover as part of this process, because that could permanently delete your Firefox data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. <u>These cannot be recovered unless they have been backed up to an external device!</u>
Please report back to see if this helped you!
    Thank you.

  • "Convert file from:" error box

Every time I click on a PDF file to download, the downloads window comes up and shows the download progress, and when the download finishes, a box appears that says "Convert File". In the box it says: Convert file from: then it lists various file types i.e., Text only, MS-DOS Text, Rich Text Format, HTML Document, Single File Web Page, Unicode Text and many more. It is trying to open a PDF file in Microsoft Word. I can't figure out how to change this. Help please?!

That does not sound like Safari behavior. Are you using Safari to download, or another browser such as FireFox?
Edit: Actually, I re-read what you wrote and saw that you said it was trying to open using MS Word. So I think the "convert file" message is coming from Word.
Therefore, I think you have .pdf files currently set to open using MS Word. So after Safari completes the download, it is handing it off to MS Word to open, and MS Words is running and asking how to convert it to one of the formats Word supports.
If the above sounds reasonable based on a lot of assumptions I made, you can try the following. First show any PDF file you already have in a Finder window. Right (Control) click on it, and select +Get Into+. In the Info window, look for +Open with+. In that section, if it currently set to open using Word, select either Preview (default setting) or +Adobe Reader+. Then, click the button below that setting that says +Change All+. This should change the setting so that all PDF files open with whatever app you selected that is not Word.

  • How can I access files from a flash drive that were previously saved using a Windows computer? When I attempt to open the file on MacBook Pro, it is asking to "convert file to"; I also have Microsoft Word installed on the Mac as well.

How can I access files from a flash drive that were previously saved using a Windows computer? When I attempt to open the file on MacBook Pro, it is asking to "convert file to"; none of the options I choose work. I also have Microsoft Office (with Word) installed on the Mac as well.

Format the external drive as FAT32 or ExFAT. Both computers will then be able to read and write to it.

  • ITUnes converted all the wav files on my computer to m4a. How do I recover them?

iTunes took it upon itself to convert all of the .wav music files on my computer to .m4a, a much lower-quality format. How can I get the .wav files back?

    Hi someonefromminnesota,
Depending on how the tracks were imported/converted, the original .wav files may still be located in their original location, and an .m4a copy may have been added to the iTunes Library. You may find the following article helpful:
