Save a pdf to iPhoto option gone for good?

You used to be able to save a pdf file to iphoto when you would print a document and in the left hand corner where there is a pdf option box, you could save your document as a pdf into iphoto, making it a .jpg file automatically.
This feature is not available in OS X Lion anymore that I can tell.
DO NOT BUY OS X LION! It's a joke.

It would be nice to copy out the photos I've used to create the book into an album so one can use them for the full slideshow or into iMovie - I think one use to be able to do that pre-Lion.
But this was great to know - making slideshows can just absorb so much of your life !

There used to be a drop down menu along side the forward and back buttons so you could skip several pages in between. I couldn't find that as an option to customize that feature back is that option no longer available?

In Firefox 4 you should be able to get the history drop-down menu by left-clicking on the back button or the forward button and holding the mouse button down for a few seconds.
Or, you can try installing this add-on:

I haven't tried it myself but it is supposed to add the history drop-down indicator back to Firefox 4, same as it was in previous versions.

My mistake. This is how it used to work for me in Reader: I hovered over SAVE AS and there used to be an option to save as an IMAGE, and hovering over IMAGE gave me the option to save as a jpg.
So you are suggesting that this all used to happen in Acrobat or AIR, or something?
What I’m trying to do and what I used to do is create a word doc, then save it as a pdf, then convert it to jpg.

Can no longer 'Save as PDF to iPhoto' from Pages

Hi there,
As a process within my business, I create a Pages document in 'Page Layout' format. I then select File > Print > PDF > Save as PDF to iPhoto, and then am able to get the right pixel size, using iPhoto.
After downloading Lion, I can no longer do this.
I tried the option of 'Save PDF to folder as JPEG' (thinking I could then 'import' it into iPhoto), but I get the error message of 'The action "Store Disk Item References" could not be loaded because it could not be loacted. Try reinstalling the action.'
I would LOVE some help as to either work around this, or create a way to do what I used to. It really is important in my business.

By the way, I tested a workaround creating my own worflow. It is rather simple and it took about 5 minutes.
- Start teh Automator Application
- Select as type for Document "Print Plug-In"
- In the most left hand Panel select "PDFs"
- Drag & Drop "Render PDF Pages as Images"
in the Action Panel (The one displaying "Drag actions or files here to build your workflow")
- Select Color Model, Format, Resolution and Compression
Now again in the most left handed Panel click on Library
In the middle Panel locate the entry "Import Files into iPhoto"
and drag & drop it below the "Render PDF Pages as Images" action.
You can leave Existing Album and Events as option. Means
the document will be imported as Event in iPhoto.
Now Save the Document (File->Save) as let's say PDF2iPhoto or whatever
your like. Restart Pages and try it out.
Creat a Pages document, the File->Print Klick on the PDF Button and select PDF2iPhoto, so the workflow you created.

Hi i had this problem myself what you need to do is..
right click and press 'show view options'
then go to the arrange by and sort by options near the top and change them both to none
click save as defult at the bottom
then when you right click the clean up by options will now be there

My phone says it's showing All Calendars. This morning, other people said to disable and then re-enable the iCloud Calendar, which has somehow allowed about 50% of my Calendar entries to reappear, but half are still missing. This is almost more frustrating because if half were saved when it ran the backup, where are the rest?
All of my calendar entries were entered directly into my iPhone, either manually from the Calendar app, or by getting into it from a Yahoo Email that had an Event I needed to save. I guess I'll just have to break out the paper calendar and try to re-enter everything that's missing.
The iTunes version I'm running now seems to be the most current one since the constant upgrades are one of the reasons I stay out of iTunes usually.

I was canoeing with my dad and his girlfriend on Friday, and my iPod (a late 2006 Apple refurb) fell into the 3 ft deep water. We decided it was dead, so we went and had a good time for an hour. When we came in, my dad went in the water and retrieved it. once I let it dry, it flashed the apple logo, the sad iPod face with the iPod support web address, and a low battery symbol.
I tried connecting it to my cousins' computer and iPod dock. The computer recognized the iPod as a "malfunctioning USB device", and the dock would not recognize it at all. Now, I am back with my mom, and it is flashing the "very low battery, please wait" and a different low battery symbol extremely fast, even though it has been hooked up to my computer for nearly 45 minutes, and the computer still does not even recognize it is hooked up. It does not appear to be charging at all. Is my iPod gone for good, or can I still save it?

While the circuit board can probably be dried out and used again and maybe the battery might charge normally after the circuit board is completely dry, I would bet that the hard drive is probably shot since it probably has water inside it and can not easily be dried out.

Options gone for select,edit, and print under HP Smart Web banner since HP dialed in to fix crash

The buttons are gone for selecting, editing, and printing under my HP Smart Web since HP dialed in and fixed another problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software but still no luck. All that shows up is the "HP Smart Web Printing" banner with the X to exit; that's it, no options listed below. My computer has completely crashed twice since I started using it 1/4/10. The second time the person dialed in and changed the bios and a few things in msconfig but I don't see anything there that would cause the smart web printing. HELP. Am I missing something really silly since I am a new user of HP Smart Print?

I am REALLY annoyed to read this post. I have spent a lot of time to try and fix my computer (which I don't have with 5 kids...not your problem I know and NOT the point). It should NOT be this hard to update and fix a product. I DON'T WANT the Bing bar...and am feeling like I am being forced to accept it to make my puter run correctly because it is supported by HP. What....kind of service is THAT???????? I hope that someone from HP....admin or whatever...reads this. I am "madder" than mad. I have had HP products for years with few problems...and all of which I could find a solution for. This is unacceptable...and I hope someone listens. Unless your last back up to your computer was after it was taken and before it was deleted then yes, it's gone - there is no trashcan or undelete facility on the iPad. If it was on the iPad when you last backed up then you could try restoring the iPad to the backup and see if that puts it back (you'll need to restore the whole iPad, you can't just restore an individual app)

Just download all the drivers needed for XP and keep them safe just in case you decide to go back from Win 7. This is what i did.

IPhoto pictures gone for no apparent reason...

I went into iPhoto and my photos are not there. Then it said I needed to connect to my iPhoto Library. How could this happen, because I never touched those settings or anything related. Are my photos all gone? Please advise. Thanks.

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

FormsCentral - save as PDF security preference options

Hi, After reading other FAQs I can see there is no Footer feature within FormsCentral...so I was trying to save the design from FormsCentral as a PDF Form and then open it in Adobe Acrobat and insert the footer via the Page Tools BUT each time I try it says that I don't have permission to change the form. I get why the permissions are set this way so once it's distributed others can't change it....BUT I can't see how I change the security preferences for the PDF Form export from FormsCentral to allow me to open it in Adobe Acrobat, inesrt the footer and then save it as a locked down Form can anyone help me with the permissions?

RAW file gone for good - can I access my 1:1 preview to save as a JPEG?

Stupid me formatted my CF card in the camera and lost my photos - I used Lexar's Image Rescue and also CardRaider to get them back, but one can't be recovered. I do have a 1:1 preview in my Lightroom library. How can I get to that JPEG and at least save that version of the photo, which is better than nothing? I know it is hidden in the lrdata file but don't know how to proceed from there, if it's even possible.
I am running Lightroom 1.4.1 on a Mac with Leopard 10.5.3
If anyone can help, that would be great!
