Save a slideshow

How does one save their slideshow?

You can export it as a Quicktime file via the Export button at the bottom of the slideshow winbdow:
Or, you can use the Share ➙ iDVD menu option.  A QT movie version will be created and imported into iDVD. From there you can burn to disk and play thru a TV with a set top DVD player.

  • Cannot save a Slideshow

Hello, I have iPhoto 9.6. I cannot get a Slideshow to Export. I have selected the Slideshow in bottom of Right Column. i choose the Export button on bottom tool bar. A box appears to choose size and whether to send to iPhoto. I choose 480p. Click on Export. A dialog box comes up with IPhoto Slideshows selected (but there is nothing showing in that folder. I assume that is where the file is to be saved. I click OK. A box appears and says Exporting Slideshow. It disappears after about one second, and I have nothing to show for it. Please help. I am trying to put together a slideshow for a memorial service, and I can't figure out what is wrong? I can save files everywhere else, but for some reason I can't save this Slideshow. Thanks in advance. Roy

Many folks have fixed this with a simple reinstall of the app:
    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
    2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4928
One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

    > Apple do not give statements here, this is a user to user discussion.
I didn't realise that. Wow that is TERRIBLE: I thought was Apple not Microsoft. Next we'll have Cook jumping up and down yelling "Developers, developers, developers!"
    > If you provide details of what is wrong, you might get a reply from experienced users.
The fact that it's been here for more than nine months without a response suggests not.

  • How can I save a slideshow if I created it using iPhoto on my iPhone?

I have an iPhone 4 (no Mac) and was playing around with the iPhoto app and created a slideshow that I want to export and use as part of my wedding reception. However, I can't seem to find an option to export or save the slideshow on my iPhone... am I missing something here?

This does not involve iphoto for the Mac (the subject of this forum) I will request that it be moved to the iPhoto for IOS forum for you

  • How do I save my slideshow in a format that will play on my DVD player?

How do I save my slideshow to a DVD that will play in my DVD player?

afaik, no, iMovie also relies on iDVD to do the actually burning to DVD.
If you are looking for free software to do that, have a look at "SimplyBurns".            SimplyBurns rev416
I never tried it, since I have iDVD installed as part of the iLife Package, so I cannot vouch for it.

  • Assertion failed during save of slideshow settings

    Hi,
Great to be able to try out the new Lightroom version!
Here are two things I'm noticing:
There seem to be several issues with slideshow. When I try to change slideshow settings, "impromptu slideshow" stops working in all modes. Also, on occasion, when I try to save slideshow parameters (in the slideshow module), I get the following error message: "Unexpected error performing command: assertion failed!".
What I did was turning almost everything off in the slideshow, no border, cast shadow, guides, no borders, identity plate, rating stars, text overlays, color wash, intro/ending screens, then tried to save that.
The other issue is that it's significantly slower than my current Lightroom 2 version, as many people have already pointed out.
    Am using a 4-core Vista 64 machine.

    Hi Victoria,
Thanks very much for your quick reply and for looking into this. Here is a sequence that reliably reproduces it for me, after some trials, hopefully this is helpful:
Go to Library module, exit Lightroom 4
Start Lightroom 4 again (starts in Library module).
    Switch to Slide show module
Make some changes to settings in the right panel (e. g. disable "Stroke Border") and save changes (Slideshow->Save Slideshow settings). Note: When I first did that, I unchecked all the boxes, except for "Slide Duration" and "Repeat").
    Switch back to Library module.
Exit Lightroom and restart it (is in Library module now).
Click on "impromptu slide show" button in the toolbar. The slide show will start, but with different settings from what was saved earlier.
Exit out of slide show with ESC. Switch to Slideshow module.
You can see now that the settings are different from what was saved. Make some changes to settings in the right panel (e. g. ...) and try to save changes (Slideshow->Save Slideshow settings). I get an assertion failure when I do this.
Generally, when I exit Lightroom from the Slideshow module and come back, I see the previously saved settings. However, when I exit Lightroom from the Library module and restart it, I get different slideshow settings from what I last saved.
Also, it seems like "impromptu slideshow" stops working, once I visit the Slideshow module.
Once I saw Lightroom abend when I exited after getting the assertion - but I can't reproduce that. Here is the event that was generated:
Faulting application lightroom.exe, version 4.0.0.1, time stamp 0x4ef2621d, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6002.18541, time stamp 0x4ec3e855, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x00000000000acb17, process id 0x59c, application start time 0x01ccd4c03f0b3450.

  • How do I save a slideshow (iphoto 09) and share it for use in a dvd

I created a slideshow in iphoto 09 and want to save it and then share it with another person who will be adding it to a dvd with movies. I originally created the slideshow and then sent it to idvd and then saved it as an .img file but the file could not be imported so I was looking for an option of simply saving my slideshow and sharing it but I can't find a way to do so.
    Thanks

Actually you should have selected the 640 x 480 size or 720 x 540 size as iDVD will reduce what ever you choose to the 640 x 480 size as that's the default DVD size.
Also try using the Share ➙ DVD menu option which does all of the work for you and import the resulting QT movie file of the slideshow into the iDVD menu.
Once you have the iDVD project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • Slide shows disappear. When I save a slideshow it is said to go to media. Where is it and how do I retrieve it?

I have recently installed Photo Elements 13.When I create slideshow, upon saving it I am instructed that I will find it in "media, today's date" Where on earth has it gone and how, when, or where do I retrieve it?

No one here has mentioned the ICC profile yet.  What have you got checked in your Save As dialog?
A 200 x 200 pixel pure white image (incredibly compressible) saves as a 11,690 byte JPEG at quality 10 with both thumbnail and ICC profile selected.  Disable the saving of the profile, and the number goes down to 8,689 bytes.  Notably these numbers go up a little if you just do File - Save As again, implying an increase in metadata (accumulation of history, perhaps?).  File - File Info didn't turn up any obvious reason for the increase.
Save the same image as a JPEG in Save for Web & Devices with everything turned off at quality 100 and it goes down to 780 bytes.
If you're really, really concerned about tiny JPEG file sizes, you can also consider saving as .png.  Often that can result in a smaller file, especially if the pixel count is not large.  A .png saved from the 200 x 200 pure white test image I mention above takes only 3,148 bytes.

  • How do i save a slideshow to a dvd

how do i save a slide show to a dvd

Export the slideshow from Aperture, that makes a movie of it. If you just want a file on a disk: burn that with the Finder's Burn command
Do you want to use this DVD in a domestic DVD player? If so, then the disk will have to be 'authored' to make it the correct form for that. If you have iDVD then that's the app you use. However, iDVD is no longer developed or distributed by Apple. You may be able to get it on an old iLIfe install disk.
    Other options:
    Burn: http://macupdate.com/app/mac/21992/burn
    Toast: http://macupdate.com/app/mac/6351/toast-titanium
But there are lots of others too. Search on the App Store or MacUpdate

  • I made a Photo Book and tried to save the slideshow how do I do that

I made a Photo Book in I PHOTO!  When I looked at the Book by pressing the slideshow button - I would like now to save that book as the slideshow also.  How do I do that?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You have an Early 2008 Mac Pro. You have the specs that your Mac Pro needs for more memory > https://support.apple.com/kb/HT4433#4 As you can read, that computer should have come with 2 GB of memory.
You can buy memory at OWC or Crucial > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Mac-Pro-Memory#800-memory Those sell compatible memory with all Macs. You can use another memory, but you can be sure that the memory that these brands sell are compatible

  • Music setting will not save in slideshow

After I create a slide show and pick a song from Itunes everything works fine. If I view another slide show then come back to the one I was just working on the default sample iphoto music plays, instead of the song that I previously selected.
Is there any way to save my preferences so after I save my song preference it will always play that specific song rather than go back to the first sample song?

How are you creating the slideshow? By pressing play on an Album or using the slideshow button in the toolbar. If the latter and the problem persists, then try delete the com.apple.iphoto.plist file from the home / library / preferences folder and try again.

  • How do I save a slideshow made in iDVD to a different video format.

How can I convert a slideshow made in iDVD to one of these video formats: 3g2, 3gp, 3gp2, 3gpp, 3p, asf, avi, divx, dv, dvx, flv, moov, mov, mp4, mpeg4, mpg4, mpe, mpeg, mpg, qt, wmv, xvid so I can download into photobucket.
    Thanks!

Did you start your slideshow in iMovie? I do....from there I send it to iDVD, but if I want to do something else with it, before I send it to iDVD, I simply export it from iMovie. That creates a .mov.
If you have the Video TS folder that is on a DVD, Streamclip can extract it. Another option is to use Quicktime Pro to convert your .mov to whatever.....if you want WMV, use the studio version of Flip4Mac.

  • Screen Saver Photo Slideshow: how to advance to the next or previous photo?

I am a new iMac convert and we love using the beautiful 27" monitor to view our family photos. Is there a way to go backwards to the previously displayed photo by using a key on the keyboard? On Windows PCs, the right/left directional arrows would allow the user to scroll forwards and backwards to scan pictures in the slideshow. Is there a way to do this on the MAC? From my experience hitting any key (including the directional arrows) on the keyboard interrupts the slideshow and displays the desktop. Thanks!

I see that you can go to a previous photo when in a slideshow in iPhoto. Is there a way to do the same thing with the screensaver though? I have the screensaver scrolling through my iPhoto pictures.
