"Save All" not working in Preview

Hi, all. I tried diligently to find the answer to this question in the forum and on the web before posting.
I am a new Mac user with a new MBP. I found several articles about easily batch resizing images using the Preview tool. The process is straight forward: open all images in Preview, select all, Tools > Adjust size... > [configure] > "Go"; then File > Save All. Enter my problem here. When I select "Save All", Preview appears to be saving all images (evidenced by a progress bar). Somewhere in the progress, it'll ask if I want to overwrite an image (appears to be the first image, sequentially, selected in the group). I confirm the overwrite and Preview finishes. However, all images are actually not successfully saved. I know this because the images when viewed in Finder are not resized. Also, there are other small clues. E.g. the one image that it asked to overwrite is successfully resized; the thumbnail for the resized image refreshes as a smaller thumbnail, while the others stay the same; also, if I click to exit, Preview will show me a list of unsaved images (all except the one that did save) and ask me if I want to saved them. I have exhausted all possible ways of selecting a few, selecting all > resizing and then saving. I have tinkered with various settings in Preview to see if I could jostle anything to make it work. The bottom line is Preview will only save one image at a time for me despite the "Save All" button.
Any help to resolve this or otherwise workaround it is much appreciated. I have about 1000 images in all that need to be batch resized.

Welcome to Discussions.
It sounds like you may be selecting the contents of a single image rather than selecting the files. You don't want to Select All for the larger image on the left. Make sure that you click on a file in Preview's Sidebar on the right before using Select All. The names of the files in the Sidebar should all be highlighted in blue after you Select All.
Also, what you are doing overwrites the larger files and can't be undone. You might want to make duplicate folders of the things you are resizing and resize the copies.

Toshiba Power Saver is only for XP installations, you can't install the XP Drivers (and most Vista Drivers) in Windows 7.
Make sure all your drivers are for the A660, and make sure they are for Windows 7.

Hot corners enabling screen saver/ ss not working; restart they're working

Hi, for no discernable reason, my hot corners which are set to start secreen saver were not working; neither it seemed was my screen saver turning on. My computer seemed simply to be going to sleep from the screen image of the desktop without benefit of having gone through the screen saver cycle first. I ran disk utility and verified permissions. Then I did the old pc trick of rebooting the computer. That seemed to have done it. My hot corners are working the way they were set up to function. Por Que? Why is my PB G4 behaving like a PC?

Had the same problem and here's what worked for me:
Navigate to System Preferences/Desktop & Screen Saver/ and click the Hot Corners button.
I generally set the bottom left corner to Start Screen Saver, with all of the other corners set to minus. I temporarily set the top left corner to Disable Screen Saver, and after moving the mouse pointer into that corner, I was then able to use my bottom left corner again to start my screen saver.
I put the top left corner back to minus.

A fatal error has occurred and the application is being terminated. Adobe Captivate has tried to save all your work in the respective project folders as ".cpbackup" files. Please restart Adobe Captivate.

I was trying to capture a simulation when a pop-up window came with this error:

I tried every possible solution but i am getting the same error. Even now, i am not able to open a blank project. I cleared Preferences and Cache, Restarted the system, uninstalled and re-installed captivate but the error occurs.
Please help.

Having admin rights is not the same as 'Run Captivate as administrator'. For the last, right-click on the start icon for Captivate and check 'Run as administrator'. Or click on Advanced, where you can check the option to always run as administrator.
Another possibility could be a corrupt font somewhere. I forgot to ask which version you are using (exact number).

Im a little bit confused about your posting First you write about Power Saver and then about green icon Which one you mean exactly and whats the problem?
If you mean Eco mode you have to install Eco Utility from official Toshiba website.

After installing lion, my screen saver does not work

I installed lion, now my screen saver does not work. I have tried all the hot corners, nothing. Dashboard and mission control work fine but cannot start screen saver.
Any thoughts on what might be wrong.

Some PDFs not working in Preview. Mac created PDFS work but windows created PDFS dont

Some PDFs not working in Preview. I installed adobe reader and then deleted it because the software was aweful and PDFs have been haveing issues ever since. I can open up PDFs created on my Mac in preview just fine...
But when I try and open a PDF created on a windows computer it says:

I am not sure why where the PDF was created would make a difference but couldnt help but notice that was the difference between the PDF files that work and the ones that give that message. I can view the PDFs on a windows computer just fine and never had issues untill adobe, it seems to have messed up PDFs on my Mac and I am so frustrated with them. I have searched my computer for any remaining adobe files, deleted them and restarted my computer but I am still getting this message.

Uninstall Adobe Reader's plug-in.
Remove the following two files from /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/:
AdobePDFViewer.plugin
AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
Open Safari Preferences > Extensions. Do you see AdobePDFViewer? If yes. disable.
Log out/in and test.
Another option is to download and install this plugin. Schubert|it PDF Browser Plugin . PDF Browser Plugin 2 is free for not-for-profit activities if used at home or at educational institutions.

Auto save does not work !
I just lost some work after shutting down and restarting the program.
Apple for gods sake dont release a program that doesnt perform the basics.
And give us back the ability to save projects when and where we want !

.svgz web preview in save options not working

Hi there
I'm a longtime Photoshop / After Effects type with rather less experience in Illustrator, using a newly built PC system
I've just gone to save a diagram created in Illustrator as a .svgz in order to pass to the web guy, but wanted to preview it first, so hit the Web Preview button in the Save dialogue box.... and nothing happens. I have several browser windows opn - IE9 64bit, Chrome - but the svgz appears in none of them
I presumed maybe I need to link Illustrator to a particular web browser somehow, but can't seem to find reference to how to do this, if it is necessary...
How do I get the web preview to happen?
All help appreciated...

I'm using Illustrator CS5 on Win 7 64 bit, and I cannot get Web Preview to work when suning Export, and exporting a file to Flash swf with frames. I have IE set on the Save for Web option, but no such option exists in the Export dialogue box. This option worked fine for the teacher in the help video that shows how to animate a snowboarder graphic when exporting to svf, but I cannot find anything dealing with this in the forums. Are you aware of why this is not working and how to implement it?

Forms built in Acrobat not working in Preview!?

I've built a form in Acrobat Professional (with text fields and radio buttons) that we want to fill out with Preview. The idea is to open the pdf with Preview, fill it out and in the Print dialogue, to "mail as pdf". Then if you close the original pdf without saving changes. it remains a template you can re-use anytime you wish.
This would all work fine except some of the text fields seem to radomly decide not to work when the pdf is opened with Preview. I've tried going back in Acrobat to delete the field and re-create another - that didn't work - same issue. I tried deleting the field, then copy and paste a field that does work in its place. Not only does that not work, it renders BOTH fields unusable!
Any ideas?

If the field works in Acrobat Reader but not Preview, then it's probably Preview's problem. Preview supports a subset of PDF features and an older version than the Adobe apps. From other similar questions seen in the forums, the best solution is to distribute a current, free Adobe Reader to everyone who needs to fill out the form.
Either that or get Apple to keep Preview reasonably full-featured and up-to-date, because today it is neither, and Adobe Reader 8 is nearly as fast or faster than Preview.

Shape button not working in preview made

I am working on captivate 8 responsive project. I have created button using shape.
But when I publish for preview mode in Mozilla latest browser and found that all slide content disappear.
Also checked with sample responsive project in captivate 8. I found same issue.
Please help me in it.

Smart Shape buttons do not work in Firefox i'm afraid, it will leave the whole slide blank. We've had a good look at trying to find a fix/hack but unfortunately it looks like something Adobe and/or Mozilla need to sort out.

BOLD not working in preview and final product...

I saw a similar topic but their solution did not work. When I have BOLD text in the Body Pages it appears as BOLD. When I print from this it comes out BOLD. When I look at the PDF Preview or save the file, the BOLD goes away.
A prior thread said to remove the BOLD and then BOLD it again. That did not work.
I just purchased and installed 7.0 (yesterday). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

'show icon preview' not working, Icon preview no longer visible

I have lots of folders full of jpg files. The preview icon do longer appears and all i get is the genetic icon. This happened randomly yesterday and I don't know how to fix it. I have the 'Show Icon Preview' enabled yet I only get the generic icon. Any ideas why? (OS X 10.5.8). I have tried a restart, permissions fix, and reindexed my hard drive with spotlight. No luck. Please help!

There probably are some hidden probable causes for this behavior;
while not knowing if you perform any general maintenance in a
preventative way for your OS X system, some of the suggestions
I could provide here may mean little or nothing to some users, or
to others, who have done them for years as a matter of course, to
suggest those could be the same as an insult; or a laughing matter.
You could try rather basic things, a few steps above 'repair disk
permissions' in Disk Utility. That's been around since OS 10.1.5.
And it has a place among other steps one can do to help out.
Sometimes, you can start up into SafeBoot mode; then choose to
run Disk Utility, and repair disk permissions. When done, quit D.U.
and restart the computer normally. - Other repairs to the system may
be performed by booting up from the OS X installer and run Disk
Utility from the menu drop-down options in the main Installer window.
You can repair disk, verify disk (SMART verify), repair disk permissions
and verify disk permissions. Plus other aspects of Disk utility that are
tools to set up partitions and other things beyond a basic simple fix.
SafeBoot mode, basic:
+Hold the Shift key down on start-up, keep holding it until you get a login+
+screen, enter admin password, then when desktop appears, you can+
+use GO in menu bar to find Utilities folder, and run Disk Utility's repair+
+disk permissions. When done, quit the Utility and restart.+
There probably may be some .plist file controlling the view of image icons
and since I haven't followed that issue (experienced it in the past, forgot
what I did to fix it) I am not sure what preference file to suggest trashing.
But you can be very selective, when knowledgeable, and do that. Then,
later on, when you restart the computer the default setting would return.
You could set that to whatever (if not the default) & that may fix the matter.
{One preference file location that probably would contain your user account's
.plists would be in the Macintosh HD> User folder> Library> Preferences>
...Now, the correct one among these becomes important. There is a desktop
plist, a finder plist, and others. Since each user in a Mac with their own setup
account can change these, yours should be in your booted user account.
However, some time has passed since this kind of issue occurred and I didn't
need to delete a .plist to resolve it. Yet that may be a short fix.}
These issues usually have a cause; sometimes it may be due to other items
not quite right in the user interface and symptoms of that sometimes show up
in odd places and they may not be directly related. Subtle and dismissed, a
few of those quirks are not show stoppers in OS X. A 'safeboot' & disk utility
may resolve some; to find a correct .plist preference file & trash it may, too.
If the computer's hard disk drive is getting full of content you have added, it
may be time to archive image libraries and/or music libraries off the Mac's
internal hard disk drive and then thin out content on the computer. That can
help a computer run better. Damage to data on the computer drive may be
a result (or outright is) of over-filling the hard disk drive. Overwriting content
is sometimes an issue; it could be subtle, too, for awhile. Checked into it?
For some preventative maintenance chores, I have and use OnyX which is
a free running utility tool (which I refer to as a utility interface tool) that pulls
the strings in OS X that some users would not think of the Terminal utility
ways of making them work; this gives you a GUI format, an application to
run various sets of items rather easily. If done without concern, these tools
can do bad things (same as booted Disk Utility, drastic tools are onboard.)
OnyX is a free-running downloadable app from Titanium Software; and since
I only use it maybe once every several months (or sooner if bored or if active
in using one computer more than usual) & have it run in Automation selection
having chosen all the check-box choices, so it will do those. I also have OnyX
set in its preferences, to restart the computer after it is done running those.
This may do more than you need in this selection of Automation. I have never
had any issues with this; but some preference choices system-wide may need
to be set back to your choice, as it can be also set to wipe caches or other old
logs and misc stuff. A few settings won't make much different to default from.
Usually, I prefer not to shut off or restart my computer until such time as when
Activity Monitor shows some issue with virtual memory and swap files or space
on the hard drive being excessively allocated as Virtual Memory. At times, a
restart may be required. My Mac can run a few months without restart, but it is
left to sleep or I will put it to sleep. Even so, some basic background OS X items
may not automatically run as they should. You can force the maintenance cycles.
If the 'show icon preview' does not work even after performing catch-up maintenace
and including OnyX, SafeBoot, and others; and if you have at least 30% of the total
hard disk drive capacity open or free from use, then you may have to consider a few
other ideas. (Removing the plist file may be the only thing you'd need do.) Another
idea in a few cases of more severe odd behavior, and if you updated your Leopard
10.5 to your current/last level through use of the Delta or small update file, would be
to get the larger Combo (last version) and after repairing disk permissions, install it
over the similar system in your computer. 10.5.8 over 10.5.8. Then restart and go in
and repair disk permissions again. Perhaps later on, safeboot and do them.
That much effort is seldom needed. Preventative maintenance and care to not over-
fill the hard disk drive, helps to almost never see such a problem in your Mac OS X.
{In a few cases, people who have upgraded from an earlier OS X version (Tiger-to-
Leopard, for example) and had a problem, may still have a similar problem later. So
it is best to fix issues and not hope to upgrade over them. Unless it is a totally new
bare-bones secure zero-overwritten drive, correct partition map, reformat, new install.
Then, there should be no doubt if there was an odd problem in the software, only.}
