I am losing my mind!
I have my form, my check boxes, everything is in it's place. I am wanting to be able to send this form to someone, let them save it, fill it out, close it and be able to come back later and finish filling it out.
I want to send the form to my boss to fill out, and he sometimes does not have all the information to finish it, he needs to be able to save it, and go back later to complete it.
I have searched for hours, and I keep seeing, go to the the "advanced" tab...my adobe X does not have an advanced tab anywhere.
I am using the trial version of Adobe X Pro, I ordered the disk today, and would like to be able to figure this out.
I appreciate any help with this, honestly, I would spring for lunch if someone would help me!

FLA taking forever to save (and edit)

I've got a reasonably uncomplicated FLA file, a couple of
megs, no audio, all vector art. It's a quiz, so there's some coding
but nothing that would be considered intimidating by an
intermediate Flash programmer.
The only thing in any way remarkable about the file is that I
am using a single movie clip five times onscreen to represent five
different characters. Different faces and expressions are called
for each character in script. It's all nested movie clips. But
really no big deal compared to some of the Flash work I've seen.
So the problem is, in a couple of movie clips that are a bit
more complicated like that, even simple editing such as adding a
keyframe takes literally ten minutes. Flash freezes while this
happens. And saving the file can take over 20 minutes.
Yet exporting the SWF happens normally.
All these operations with other files happens without any
problems. It's just this file.
Has anyone experienced this? I have looked online but can't
find anything referencing such an issue. I'm sure it's the way I'm
building the file but I'd like to know what the issue might be.

Ugh...that took a while to try...but alas, no dice. There's
something in a movie clip, I'm not sure if it's how Flash sees
it/encodes it when saving. I have no idea. But it's not one of the
typical CPU/RAM issues...I'm not a novice, I've done hundreds of
these for clients so this stands out for me. (as an aside, the file
size, my clients seem to be okay with it...I guess their target
user is all about the broadband : ) Thanks D

You have to have an app on the iPad that is compatible with the particular file type that you want to save, edit or share. You can look at any of the word processing apps - Pages is one, Documents to Go, Quick Office Pro - but you have to have one like that in order to save and edit Word files.
With pdf files - iBooks will work to save them - but that's all. Other apps like GoodReader will let you annotate them.
You have to decide which app will serve your needs best and them download them in order to save, edit and share those file types.

16bit? Pixels extending beyond the canvas? (from a crop with delete unused pixels turn off). Have you previously been saving PSD files?
IME you sometimes have to tell Photoshop that the first save of a session is JPG, and it remembers from there on. The way to 'tell' Photoshop that JPG, or PDF, or PNG etc are now your preferred format is to Ctrl (Cmd) click on that format in the Save As drop down list. So long as the file does not have parameters that your chosen format does not support, then this should work for you.
[EDIT] Just noticed that you did include 'Crop' in the subject line. Do you have 'Delete cropped pixels' checked?

CUIC 8.5 - Problem with Save As and editing reports

CUIC 8.5.2. I have users set up with Roles of Login User, Dashboard Designer, Report Designer, Report Definition Designer and Value List Collection Designer. They also have Read Execute and Write Permissions. Problem is, if they run a stock report, the Save As, and Edit options on the report are greyed out and inactive. What is missing in order for users to be able to create custom reports? Any help would be appreciated.

I might have ran into this at some point last year, I think (but I could be wrong) if you setup the write permissions for the user group, it should then fix it for everyone. You might want to give that a spin in case you have a lot of individual users.

I just want to make sure, this is the only way to do what i mentioned ? or it could be done another way !a) write the data to a new file
b) delete the old file
c) write the data to a newer file
d) delete the new file
e) rename the newer file to the old file name.

If you're using the Adjust editing pane there is no Done button. When you done with the editing just click on the Photos button at the top or use one of the arrows at the top to advance to the next photo. No done button required.

In the early days of digital video editing, an export render could take hours! Not many applications are as hard on system resources as video editing, and rendering the final edit is probably the most system intense action of all.

Yes you can... but like I said before you need to upload the
data from the changes you make to a server.
In terms of the solution... its unlikely that you'll find one
specifically for your needs. You will have to learn whatever you
don't know how already and maybe adapt some existing examples to
your needs.
To change the visual state of a movie clip... you just do all
the regular things that you want to do to it using flash... scale,
rotation, drawing API , textfields etc in actionscript. If you
don't know how to how to do that stuff, then you need to learn that
first. That's basic actionscript.
You can capture the visual state of a movieclip using the
BitmapData class. That includes a loaded jpeg. You can also
manipulate bimatp data using the same class. You should read up on
that if you don't know how to use it or check out the examples
below for uploading info.

While this of course is the answer to the question, the idea of overwriting the original is simply a bad idea. If you do this, you can never get back to your original and start again. That text will always be there.
I advise the original poster not to do this. Save your edits as a different name.

Yes, Aperture and iPhoto will save the edited Version.
In Aperture the edited version will replace the previously edited version, unless you set the option "Create new versions when making adjustments" in the Aperture Preferences Advanced panel.
So the image you are seeing in iPhoto or Aperture will be your edited image.
Were you expecting to find an edited version outside the Aperture library in the Finder? If you want that, use the command "File > Export" to save an edited version of your image to a folder on the Desktop. Aperture does not actually create edited image file, unless you export a version.
