Save and quit feature not working on FF4. Always worked in Firefox 3.6.Running Vista home premium

When I close firefox 4 the option to save the open tabs is not offered. Only choice is to cancel or close tabs. Running vista home premium. Only extensions are adblocl plus and image zoom

You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get back the previous session. 
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.
Another possibility is to use:
*Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"
You can set the warn prefs on the about:config page to true via the right-click context menu or toggle with a double left-click.

I understand the design change to the whole "save as app" tab, but I feel that Save and Quit feature from the previous version of Firefox is much better than this "app tab" feature. Is there anyway for me to have this back?

Restore previous session button available on my Firefox homepage is great, but what I really want is the Save and Quit feature. I have always felt that its one of the best features of Firefox, second only to search address bar directly leading me to the actual page. I read some threads about this, and found the answers very unconvincing. One of the suggested ones was "Pin as app tab" . No, I don't want to pin every tab that I want to visit say, thrice as an app. Second suggestion was, click on the obvious button on the homepage to restore the tabs(this took me quite a while to actually see). Why this change in design? This is identical to Chrome's but its very inferior to what Firefox already had. Is there anyway, without downgrading of course, I can get that feature back?

Okay, I found the answer myself. Going to about:config and setting browser.showQuitWarning to true, restored that option and brought it back. Thanks to anyone who is about to post. If this is false by default, it has got to change.

How do I get my "save and quit" back after updating to the latest version of Firefox on a PC?

How do I get my "save and quit" back I do not like having to close all my tabs and loose all that every time I close out of firefox. When I got the latest version of firefox I lost the ability for firefox to save my tabs when I close out of it. I have to go through the process of opening all my tabs and refinding the sites all over again each time I load up firefox. I can not find the place to change the settings to being back the way they were before firefox got the latest version. I want my "save and quit" back.

The system recovery disks I made for my HP dv7-1132 NR running Vista Home Premium 64 bit won't work.

I just bought this laptop and I want to wipe the drive clean. It is an HP dv7-1132 NR with Vista home premium 64 bit but still on Service Pack 1. It came with no system restore disks so I made my own through the System Recovery Manager. Apparently the disks were created without any problems as there were no errors.
When I tried to use the first disk however (by inserting the first disk into the dvd drive and re-starting the computer, Once it has re-booted I get the message:
"This PC is not supported by the system recovery disks. You will not be able to recover this system with these disks"
Can anyone help me help me to either get these discs working or give me another work around that will wipe this hard drive? I am not a techie so my knowledge base is rudimentary. If you can give alot of detail in any possible fixes, that would be great!!!1

Usually this is caused by missing info in the BIOS and must be corrected by service from HP. Enter BIOS by tapping away at the F10 key immediately after power on. Is all system info there,serial,etc?

Satellite A350D-005- Windows Vista Home Premium 64 Bit and Burning

Hi. I recently purchased a Toshiba Satellite A350D (PSALEC-005004). It has a 64 bit processor running vista home premium 64 bit. I have never been able to successfully burn a cd or a dvd. I have tried nero 7, 8 and 9, along with Roxio Easy Media Creator 10, along with a few other various software. Nero ends up in it haulting around 10%, then eventually saying that the burning process has failed, resulting in me either having to turn the computer off to remove the wasted disc or if im using my external burner i have to turn it off then back on. When I use Roxio it seems like its going to burn until the end, where it seems to hault again. What am I doing wrong or what can I do to fix this problem?

Okay, I tried burning a CD and DVD using Vista's built-in software, and it says this after attempting: "There was an error burning the disc. The disc may no longer be usable." I have no clue as to why the computer will not let me burn using any program. I have tried using my external Sony DVD burner that works on my 32 bit system, and it wont work on this 64 bit machine either. Any suggestions as what to try next?
Also, whenever it decides to quit burning, the burner seems to keep going and wont stop unless I shut the computer off (for the internal burner) or Turn off the power to the external burner. It also disappears from the list under the "Computer (My Computer)" section.

HELP ACR 4.6 fails to load/work in photshop CS3 running on vista home premium

Can anyone help me. i had photoshop CS3 on windows xp and it loaded up canon 450d raw files happily/and bridge worked fine- showing raw thumbnails.
now i loaded onto new laptop running vista home premium and it works that is cs3 but auto installer cannot upload new 4.6 raw update (the last one for cs3) and when i look at bridge thumbnails for raw do not work. and when attemp to load a raw file from my canon 450d into photoshop it says file not type recognised or supported or similar.i have service pack 1 installed i believe with vista.
just do not know what to do!!!

Mac Book Boot camp and Vista Home Premium - will it run ok?

I have the latest black Mac Book with 2GB of ram installed. Will this allow Boot Camp to run Vista Home Premium ok? Or should I go for Parallels instead?

I run the exact same system. The Vista performance test scores are as follows:
Processor 5.1
Memory 4.6
Graphics 3.3
Gaming Graphics 3.1
Primary Hard Disk 4.8
Obviously this is not a system for really high end gaming, but the average user will be very pleased with the performance. Do not forget that you can use a flash memory USB device with ReadyBoost to get a little bump in these numbers.
I could not be happier with how Vista Home Premium runs on my Macbook. It takes 3X the time to start up as Mac OS X.

anyway, reading this thread I think I can give you better pointers for troubleshooting than on my blog.
Please run a
dmsetup ls
once you're in the installer (thats for me to verify)
now, next, it seems all that is missing is the multipath config file in the install initrd.
If the target linux mpath (if it still exists, i don't got time for testing) is selected, then multipathd will be launched - but without a config, the internal defaults will take over, meaning you end up with the user friendly name instead of the WWN.
Basically you should be able to find the error looking at the kickstart /etc/rc and restarting multipath with new configs over and over.
Might be fun :)
It would be helpful if Oracle picked up your fixes even w/o a support contract. :)
(ranting: It'll be a festival for me when the multipath tools devs finally get around to groking the world of real sans and create a plugin api for enclosure based naming that is just 10% as good as the one in VxVM. WWIDs are a sad joke, they're intended so the OS can identify the disks well so it can present userful names to the user.
Not to let the user choose between useless udev-names and non-human-readable WWNs. And yeah, I have tried to make udev scripts for enclosure based naming. Didn't go well obviously :)

Save and Quit tabs does not work properly.

When asked to Save and Quit tabs for the specific session is selected, Firefox does not restore tabs at the next session.
I have read the posts where it is suggested to change the settings and simply never clear the history. However this is not the way that Firefox behaved in older versions, NOR IS IT A SOLUTION due to the following:
The pop-up on exit to Save and Clear is clearly asking the user if that specific session should be remembered and then clearing the history should be superseded by saving instead. Otherwise, what is the point of asking the user to save? A pop-up warning saying that the tabs will not be remembered would be more appropriate.
Regardless, the user has been asked if this specific session should be remembered, and this clearly being the last choice done by the user, supersedes the prior settings for this one specific session. The tabs should be remembered, as the user has instructed (and Firefox used to do in the past), and yet Firefox opens a new session having dumped the information.
Changing the settings to remembering the history instead, does not serve people that want most times to clear it. This would then mandate a manual clearing of history every time before a session is ended instead.
This will need a permanent fix/rollback to the way Firefox used to behaved in these circumstances in older versions.

After transferring musics to the device selecting by mass storage mode you need to follow this

Office 2010 MUI in Finnish and Save and Send function not working after upgrading to Lync 2013 MUI

Problem is as follows. Used to have Office 2010, Outlook 2010 and Lync 2010, everything was working. People used it in Finnish and seemly quite a many of them used the Talleta ja lähetä (Save and Send in Finnish) in Office products.
After upgrading Lync to 2013 version, with Finnish language pack installed with it, the Save and send does not work in Office 2010 if it is used with Finnish as display language. When you try to use it you get a Mapi error and reason is undefined or something,
hard to say what it is exactly in english as the error message is in finnish. On those machines if the display language is changed back to english the Save and send works as it should.
Any ideas?

The problem was caused by the Language Packs for Lync 2013 or Office 2013. Without them all works.
And if you want to just unisntall the 2013 lang packs, then you also need to repair install the office 2010 ones to make it work again.

"Save and quit" doesn't work anymore

FF4 DOES ask me if I want to "save and quit" at the end of a session and I always click "yes" but when I bring FF up the next time NONE of my pages come up.

When I close Firefox I choose Save and Quit to save my tabs for next opening. It's not saving them the last few times, wondering why?

Upon closing Firefox it asks me if I'd like to save and quit, quit, or cancel. I always choose save and quit. I've noticed the last few times that my tabs were not saved the next time I opened Firefox, I'm wondering why. I've lost some webpages I was saving for later now, because of this.

The computer crashes, due to power failure, with Firefox running. After rebooting, Firefox has lost record of tabs. [History/Recently Closed Windows] is grayed out. So the list of tabs is lost. It should be possible for the software to keep a periodic backup of current tabs, such as, e.g., MS Word makes backups of the current file every 10 minutes, so that the tabs can be restored if the software does not make a normal exit due to a computer crash.

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session. 
Use "File > Exit" or "Firefox > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit Firefox") if you want to restore multiple windows. 
You can use "History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time. 
You may need to click the orange/gray Firefox button to see History. 
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.

One change in Firefox 4 is to by default stop Firefox displaying the warning message, but it can be turned back on by changing some preferences.
