Save as AIF on PC version

I don't see AIF as an option in save as.  Is WAV the same?  Right now I save as WAV, open in Audacity, save as AIF.

When you click File > Save As..  you should see an option for 'Audio Interchange File Format (*.aif)'  If you do not see this option, you might need to make certain Quicktime is installed.  This is a free download from apple.com - just make certain you download the Quicktime-only link, unless you need iTunes installed at the same time.

  • How do I save InDesign in an Older version?

I am working with a partner who has an older version of InDesign and cannot open my files, How do I save mine as an older version so that he can work with them?
    Thanks inadvance, Linda

What versions are involved? You'll have to export to Interchange format, but whethr you can do it only once, or if yo have to open and re-xport in all intervening versions depends on waht both of you are using.
This is not a great workflow for collaboration, expecially if you use any advanced features in your version that are not supported in theirs. Those will be lost entirely. There is a significant risk of text reflowing and changing line endings, too.

  • I have InDesign CS 5.5 and my printer does not - can I save it as an older version

I made a document using InDesign 5.5 and sent it as a packaged InDesign file to a printer who cannot open it. Is there a way for me to save it as an older version so I can send it to them?
    Thanks

Is there definitely no other solution?  I am having the same problem and I know a pdf is great for print ready documents, but I am an Indesign beginner and need to send a version of my document that my printer can work on.  Will they be able to work on an .idml file?

  • Why each time I try to save my day's work, version WITH mark-ups and version w/o, does it say "you have placed a large amount of text on clipboard do you want to access this? What is clipboard and how can I just save my work in its proper file?

I don't get this clipboard thing! I have created two files, one for the MS with mark-ups, and one for the unmarred version, each living in their own spot in my "house." It seems to be merging the two versions and I have to go in and re-paste and then it always says "you have placed a large amount of text on clipboard do you want to be able to access this?" and it prompts me to say no but I am afraid I'll lose my day's work so I just tap cancel. I highlight the day's revision and select "copy" to paste into the unmarked doc. before I save on the marked up or working doc. It is when I try to close that one that the clipboard issue pops up. What can you tell be about saving doc. in two places and how to NOT get it on clipboard? Thanks! I am not super computer savvy so layperson's language much appreciated!

Are you using Microsoft word?  Microsoft thinks the users are idiots. They put up a lot of pointless messages that annoy & worry users.  I have seen this message from Microsoft word.  It's annoying.
    As BDaqua points out...
When you copy information via edit > copy,  command + c, edit > cut, or command +x, you place the information on the clipboard. When you paste information, edit > paste or command + v, you copy information from the clipboard to your data file.
If you edit > cut or command + x and you do not paste the information and you quite Word, you could be loosing information.  Microsoft is very worried about this. When you quite Word, Microsoft checks if there is information on the clipboard & if so, Microsoft puts out this message.
You should be saving your work more than once a day. I'd save every 5 minutes.  command + s does a save.

  • Save as- for Dummies (Numbers version)

Here is a clean way to retrieve Save As… in Numbers.
    --(SCRIPT Numbers_save_a_copy]
    --=====
    L'aide du Finder explique:
L'Utilitaire AppleScript permet d'activer le Menu des scripts :
Ouvrez l'Utilitaire AppleScript situé dans le dossier Applications/AppleScript.
Cochez la case "Afficher le menu des scripts dans la barre de menus".
    +++++++++
Save the script as a Script: Numbers_save_a_copy.scpt
Move the newly created file into the folder:
    <startup Volume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Scripts:Applications:Numbers:
Maybe you would have to create the folder Numbers and even the folder Applications by yourself.
Go to the Scripts Menu, choose Numbers, then choose “Numbers_save_a_copy”
The script saves the frontmost document
in the native Numbers format in a date_time stamped file.

    The Finder's Help explains:
To make the Script menu appear:
Open the AppleScript utility located in Applications/AppleScript.

    Here is an other one.
Read carefully the explanations given at the very beginning, in French then in English.
With this one you master the time when you save. CAUTION, Autosave is unable to do it's duty when you work on a document open with the script so don't forget to ask the script to save from time to time.
With this dedicated to Numbers script, the most interesting piece of code is the one used to grab the status of the document when we open it to be able to reset it after inserting the items storing the path to folder to save in and the doc shortname.
    --(SCRIPT Numbers_without_autosave]

Save the script as an application on the Desktop.
Drop a Numbers doc icon on the application's one, open the document, duplicate it, save the original if it was created from a template,
rename the duplicate inserting a date_time stamp, create a table in a sheet to store the pathname to the source folder and the short name of the original.
After that you may work upon the document. From time to time, click the script's icon to save the document and replace it by a fresh replicate. So this one which was never saved will not be autosaved.
When you have finished to work upon the doc, save it as you did in the past.

  • Save project created with trial version in Captivate 5.5 with license

I have a project created with Captivate6 trial version. Now I have a license for Adobe Captivate5.5. The content of my project with Captivate6 will expire when the trial period is over and will not be accessible. I cannot open the .cptx file with Captivate5.5. How can I save my work from the trial Captivate6 to the licensed Captivate5.5? This is the last day of my trail version. Please help as soon as possible.

Hello and welcome to the forum,
I'm so sorry, but there is no backwards compatility beteen 5.5 and 6. You cannot copy slides, objects from 6 to  5.5. You can try to export what is available in the Library, some objects you will hopefully be able to reuse in 5.5. But the project will have to be recreated from scratch.

  • How do I create files in Captivate 6 and save them in a lower version?

I have Captive 6 at home and at work we are using 5.5.with no plans to upgrade.  How do I create or edit in Captivate 6 and still save files so my coleagues can contribute using the software we are given at work?

Only between 6 and 7 this is possible, not with previous versions. And even between 6 and 7 you can have weird things happening. It has nothing to do with being a normal file or a template, I don't know why you tell that?
OP was talking about 5.5 and 6, and there this is NOT possible at all.

  • Export to iTunes where is save as AIF?

I don't get this I am trying to record a simple voice over. I have a Motu unit and a mic and I finally got the track to record in Garage Band and now I go to try to export the audio file so I can use it with my video editing program and the only option is Export to iTunes?? Am I missing something?
Where are the original recorded audio files located? Can you control what format they are recorded in? Can I just grab those?
I don't use iTunes how do I get a good quality AIF file out of this??
    Thanks in advance,
    Greg

Exactly (..why they don't bundle projects, events, etc in one package that you're free to move around..).
I have my projects on a disk known as "/Volumes/LaCie Disk". I cannot move it -- I tried. There is no option in the File menu or Preferences. When you import a movie you can specify where the Event files go -- that's it -- FOREVER.
You can actually drag the event directories around, just not the .rcproject files (the files that have my painstaken editing data).
Looking in the .rcproject directory there are several files - some binary - some ascii with compressed data in XML format. In both cases you see "/Volumes/LaCie Disk" hard-coded into the file. I tried editing the "/Volumes/LaCie Disk" entry, but, alas it didn't work. If I want to edit my .rcproject a year from now I will have to do it at a location called "/Volumes/LaCie Disk".
Apple, please, please add a Save As option to iMovie 08 -- soon!

  • PSE 7...Unable to save edited photos in a version set

I am suddenly unable to save my edited photos in a version set.  The edited photo is being saved on the hard drive but is not linked to the previous photo nor is visable in the open catalog.  This issue in occuring in only one catalog but not in others.  Thanks for any help.

You may be encountering a known bug.  To troubleshoot:
    1. In the Organizer, select one of the problem photos (the original, not the edited), right-click it, and do Show Properties.  What is the full, precise path of the photo, shown to the right of the yellow folder icon at the bottom of the Properties window?
    2. Do Help > System Info.  What is the precise path given for Catalog Location?

  • Can Lookout 6.7 open, allow editing, and then save programs written in previous versions of Lookout like 4.2 or 5.1?

I have several control stations provided by a 3rd party that need some tweaks made to them, however if I purchase Lookout, I will receive a much later version than they were originally written in.  I do not want to change the OS the stations are using so would like to save the applications in their original version.  Is this possible?
    Thanks!   Barney Rubble

Contact NI directly, they may be able to help.
If not I can get you the Install for Lookout 5.1 relatively easily.  It will run in eval and may be enough to get you in to make some changes.  I do not have 4.5 or older.

  • Save Converted Document from Previous Version without Confirmation in CC2014?

    Hi Everyone,
Is there a way to save a converted document from a previous version of InDesign with the same name WITHOUT the save confirmation dialog box? By a converted document, I mean that when you open a version from CS6 for example the document tab shows [Converted], and will automatically prompt with a Save Dialog when saving. I've parsed over all Preferences but may have possibly overlooked something.
    Thank you for your help!

If you are using OSX try this AppleScript:
    http://www.zenodesign.com/forum/ConvertToCC2014.zip
There's a droplet and script panel version in the zip archive. It copies the chosen folder's ID files older than version 10 into an Archive subfolder then updates the files. Depending on the file size it can take some time—there's a done dialog when it completes. I would test it a few times to make sure it does what you expect.

  • New version of Reader 11.0.1 does not remember last save as folder like previous version

It is annoying having to navigate to the same location every time a document is saved.
Previous versions have used "sticky" folders so it remembers where to "save as" a file.
Is there a way to make it revert?
