Save as default does not work

Pages 09 constantly defaults to US Letter. I've tried to change to US Letter Borderless but the 'Save as Default' on Page Setup does not work. I've reloaded Pages to no avail.
Any tips, tricks or suggestions?

Is it an already saved document you are having problem with or one of the templates? How do you know that it doesn't default to Borderless? But when I try on Snow Leopard it doesn't remember borderless either.

Command to set firefox as default does not work

After setting chrome as my default browser, I want to set Firefox as my default browser from the command line on windows.
According to http://kb.mozillazine.org/Default_browser I ran
firefox.exe -silent -setDefaultBrowser
But that does not work. Chrome stays as the default browser. Setting FF as the default from the FF dialog (asking to set as default) works but I want to do it from the commandline.

We have a support article on that: [[Make Firefox the default browser on Android]]. When trying to determine the current default browser app, I think Samsung's is called "Internet".

Generate image assets "default" does not work in CC but does in CC 2014

When I use "default -this" in a layer in photoshop cc it does not change the file names. In CC 2014 the same file works as expect.

I installed Image Processor Pro quite some time ago. I extracted the extension package and just copied the two files "Image Processor Pro.xml" and "Image Processor Pro.jsx" into Photoshop's versions Presets\Scripts. I normally install things I add to Photoshop into my own folders outside any Adobe installation folder. Image Processor Pro is an exception because I did not want to modify X's code. Image Processor Pro is coded in a way to find which version of Photoshop is being run from and looks for its default xml file in that version Presets\scripts\ folder.
The script may save your modficaions to its defalt xml file into you user ID application data areas. And you can save you own Image Processor Pro presets configurations.
I run Windows not Mac though.

Show View Options (DEFAULT) DOES NOT work

I'm pulling out my hair trying to get my Finder "show view options" to default. This worked fine in Leopard, but in Snow Leopard, the make "default" option doesn't seem to work. I'm using an erase and install version of Snow Leopard. I've used Cocktail and SWIPE to delete all DS_Store files and still it seems the default option won't work.
I can choose my settings, then make default. Some folders will accept it and others won't. I've searched the web and see others with the same problem. Is there an easy solution? Switching through folders only to have different finder views is really annoying.

Thanks KT-- I finally got it. After using Cocktail, DS_Store Terminator, another app, and a terminal command, then finally a restart, all seems well. I finally have all of my finder windows to my default view.
I'll bet Cocktail and then a restart would have worked though, but I didn't restart until the last step.
Anyway, it's good now.

Jpeg "save as copy" does not work

in CS3, after i'm done adjusting an image with layer and mask, etc, and I go to save it as a jpeg, it automatically attaches "-copy" to the name. I try to do this in CS5 and it doesn't work even though "save as a copy" is checked by default. I have to manually change the file name otherwise it will ask if i want to overwrite the original jpeg and that gets annoying when working with lots of files. Is this a bug? or is there an easy fix?

Edit - I just tried this with CS5 and I do get " copy" added to the end of my file name for all but JPEG.
I'll bet this has something to do with the new feature where you can Save As a JPEG (as a copy) even if you're editing a 16 bit document.

Save for previous does not work

In LabVIEW 7, there is no possibility to save for a previous version. The reference to "Save with options" in file menu, given in Help, leads nowhere. I have also tried to save programmically, using method "Save for previous", but it did nothing (and did not say anything in the Warnings or Error).
What to do?

Can you be more specific? Save with options has six options listed on
the left side. The next to last in LV7 should allow for saving the
LV6.1. Really, you should just have to click that radio button and if
you aren't using any toolkits, you click save and choose a folder for LV
to place the VIs into -- it does this trying to avoid saving over the
originals. If you need the VIs for versions before 6.1, load into 6.1
and go furthe
r back into time. In general, each LV release will save
back to the previous major release.
Where in this sequence do you run into a problem?

"Save for Web" does not work with mac OS 10.6

Everything else runs fine with PSE 6 and OS 10.6, but nothing (!) happens when choosing "Save for Web" (German Version).

Finally, to make the Save For Web work, you must do the same thing as above (which is make a folder owner be a non-admin account, and fix the read/write so that in 10.4 the You can says Read & Write). The folder to change with the "command i" get info is :
/Library/Applications Support/Adobe/Photoshop Elements/File Agent/6.0/en_US.
Once this en_US file is owned by a non-admin account and the Read & Write is set, and the padlock is unlocked, the Save For Web works.

"Save all" attachements does not work for me... :(

Save app tabb does not work

The tabbs that i pinned as apps are not saved when i close firefox.
When i open firefox again, they dont show up in the taskbar.

Save As Stationery - Does Not Work

Anyone having problems saving files as stationery in Mail 3 ?
I create a new message like help says and the save as stationery under the file menu is grayed out.
Has anyone had any success altering and saving new stationery files?

I wrote a web page about how to do stationery with the previous editions of MAIL. It's a simple, three-step process, and still works with the new Stationery in Leopard's MAIL. In adobe 9.5 reader. File/save as text does not work.

I have adobe 9.5 reader. If I do file/save as text I always get an empty .txt file. What is wrong?

It looks like you are correct! They do appear to be scanned pages, but the icon that shows bfore the file name is Adobe & if I try to use the Open with option only Adobe is allowed. No wonder it confused me. Thank you for your help!

"alv grid" layout as default does not work

I created a layout for my ALV and saved it. It is supossed to appear as default but every time I restart the ALV the layout is gone and I have to select it again. Do I have to do something else besides putting it as default in the "Layout choose" selection? Thanks in advance.

"Always ask me where to save files" does not work.

Summary: The "Always ask me where to save files" feature does not work. No dialog box comes up, apparently because the browser is stuck on a bad old read-only lastDir location, in a prefs.js file that I can't edit.
Details:
I am using Firefox 30.0 on Mac OS 10.6.8. My Mac has a both a read/write Mac partition that I use most of the time, and a bootcamp Windows partition drive ("C"), which I can read but not write to.
At some point I accidentally tried to download a file from a site, using Firefox, to the read-only Windows C drive. Ever since that time, I have not been able to download any files from Firefox, except to the firefox/downloads folder. This is inconvenient. If, in preferences, I try to set downloads to ""Always ask me where to save files", the dialog box does not come up when I actually try to save files. This problem does not apply to saving photos by right-clicking them.
If I open, in text-edit, mozilla/firefox/profiles/t4vockvue.default/prefs.js, which was saved yesterday, I can see a problematic line. It reads:
user_pref("browser.download.lastDir", "C:\\Documents and Settings\\[etcetc]");
C:\\Documents and Settings\\[etcetc] being the read-only windows directory.
This prefs.js is apparently not an editable file.
I tried to fix this by opening a browser tab in Firefox and opening about:config. The editable browser.download.lastDir does NOT show the same "lastDir"....it shows some directory that I successfully downloaded photos to, by right-clicking on a photo.
How can I fix this problem?

To confirm which profile folder is active when you are running Firefox, it is easiest to open it from inside Firefox as follows:
Sometimes the file that stores the customizations becomes corrupted and fails to update properly at the end of your session. You can rename the file and customize from scratch.

* (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
In the first table on the page, click the "Show in Finder" button (Windows: "Show Folder" button).
Hopefully you are using a separate profile folder on each OS.

Office 2010 MUI in Finnish and Save and Send function not working after upgrading to Lync 2013 MUI

Problem is as follows. Used to have Office 2010, Outlook 2010 and Lync 2010, everything was working. People used it in Finnish and seemly quite a many of them used the Talleta ja lähetä (Save and Send in Finnish) in Office products.
After upgrading Lync to 2013 version, with Finnish language pack installed with it, the Save and send does not work in Office 2010 if it is used with Finnish as display language. When you try to use it you get a Mapi error and reason is undefined or something,
hard to say what it is exactly in english as the error message is in finnish. On those machines if the display language is changed back to english the Save and send works as it should.
Any ideas?

The problem was caused by the Language Packs for Lync 2013 or Office 2013. Without them all works.
And if you want to just unisntall the 2013 lang packs, then you also need to repair install the office 2010 ones to make it work again.
