"Save As" Formats shifted on 10.7.3 Dialogs

Selecting JPEG format from the popup menu on Save As Dialog produces an EPS file. I must select Multi-Picture Format to save as a JPEG .
TIFF becomes PNG, and so on...

  • CS5 "save as" format menu changed when creating new document

    Hi,
    When creating a new document in photoshop CS5 i cannot save as a jpeg or png or the other large list of file types i used to have in the save as format menu,
    below is what i used to be able to save as but can only do this when actually opening a jpeg file and not when creating a new document
    this is the options i have now
    i haven't been using photoshop that long and am no genius with pc's so i'm a little lost here, does anyone know why this has happened and if there is a solution to this, your help will be greatly appreciated. my spec are windows 7 64bit, core i7, nvidia 260gtx.

    It looks as if you are creating documents in a format incompatible with certain file types.
    For example, check in the New dialog that it is set for RGB Color – 8-bit.

  • Adobe Reader 9 and XI do not save other formats to PDF.

    I had Adobe Reader 9 on  PC Windows 7. I am sure I used to be able to save other file formats to PDF with Reader, but when I try now, I get the sign saying "The printer name is invalid" and the file wouldn't be saved to PDF. I tried uninstalling Reader 9 and installing Reader XI. Exactly the same thing happens. Does anyone know what this sign means and how the problem can be solved? Any suggestions gratefully received.

    Adobe Reader doesn't save other formats as PDF.
    You probably had Adobe Acrobat if you remember doing this. They look similar.

  • Save as PDF and Save PDF as PostScript options in the Printer dialog are not supported.

    I downloaded Indesign CS3 trial and liked everything about it until I attempted to print to postscript and got that message. Nothing I have tried has helped. I have seen in various forums that others are having the same problem, but haven't found any solution offered. I am running Tiger 10.4.10 on a new Intel Imac with 3G ram. This is a procedure I use very often in my workflow, and have never had this problem with CS2 on my PC or other Macs. Is there a solution? I downloaded the .1 update and installed that and it didn't change anything.

    PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME.
    Its the first time Im using print booklet option to save my file. I have the same problem when trying to save as pdf and get the
    "The Save as PDF and Save PDF as PostScript options in the Printer dialog are not supported."
    I'm trying to save a .pdf of a booklet of a facing pages document of A4 size each facing page for a whole size A3, then hope to let the pages be correctly arranged by inDesing, then print and staple.
    Meaning pages will be like this - Page #60 left side [of the A3] - page #1 right side [of the A3] , page # 2 right side[of the A3] - page #59 left side[of the A3] etc...
    I CANT DO IT. I tried to follow Melvin Thompson , but when I choose save .ps and open it in preview all I see is independent a4 pages and just the left ones , .. How can I save my file as .pdf ready to be printed in a3 ?
    I really appreciate any help.

  • PSE 9 cannot export camera raw edited files to a jpeg format.  Only available save as formats are photoshop and tiff.

    In PSE 9  I am currently unable to save files that have been edited in camera raw as jpeg files.  When I try to export the file using 'save as'  the only listed options are versions of photoshop file formats and tiff - jpeg is not listed.  I did not have this problem previously when using Nikon D3000 camera. I now use a Nikon D7100. I have installed the 6.5 Camera Raw update but this has not solved the problem.  I would appreciate any suggestions for resolving this.
    Margaret

    You have a 16-bit image and jpeg is an 8 bit format. You can set the raw converter to export as 8 bit by using the pulldown menu below the preview area, or you can just go to Image>Mode>8 bits/channel in the editor.

  • Word save as format and apple script

    Hi,
    I want to open my doc file and save as docx file. What is the proper file format to do this.
    I have use the following code:
    set mydoc to "/Users/administrator/Desktop/Sample.doc"
    tell application "Microsoft Word"
      activate
      open mydoc
      save as active document file name "Sample_new.docx" file format format document
      close active document
    end tell
    But it saving the file in Compatibility Mode. So i want to know whether it saving the file docx or not.

    It's much easier to use the command line textutil utility.  in applescript you'd use:
    do shell script "textutil -convert docx /path/to/wordfile.doc"

  • Preview utility, default Save file format

    How to force the Preview utility to use JPG as the default format on the Save operation?
    Currently it uses PNG.

    I don't think that's possible.

  • Save file formats

    hello every one,
    Can any one tell me how to save excel sheets or any other file format by clicking on a button in flex 3.
    Thanks in advance.

    The first two, yes. For Compiled Help, the third, I'm sure you know that the files have to be compiled, so no, and I don't think the source files for compilation are a direct export either, unless you can follow an XML path. Although the popularity of CHM is way down from a number of years ago because HTML is more portable, but that's a different issue.
    If I were you, I'd look at MIF2go, a Frame add on that does support export to all these formats, and a number of others.
    InDesign doesn't do this either...
    Just as a word of unasked for advice, choosing your authoring platform by what it can output is a back-asswords way to choose a tool. Find the tool that suits the way you create documents the best so you get more required features to create your stuff quicker and easier.
    Both the tools you mention and most other modern ones do pretty open-ended output, either directly or through filters or conversion utilities... there are always ways to massage output to a different format. So output is certainly a consideration, but it's a relatively minor one.
    As for input tools, you're comparing apples and oranges with FM and ID. FM excels at book style documents with multiple chapters or files that share common layout characteristics. InDesign excels at shorter documents that are usually design-driven, that require hands-on layout tweaking, and it can't do multiple file management.

  • Disable/Disabling "Save As" shorcut Shift+Ctrl+S

    I have removed the "Save As" item from the file menu, but also want to disable the shortcut (Keyboard Accelerator): Shift+Ctrl+S
    Here is the code I have so far:
    AVMenubar avMenubar;
    AVMenuItem avMenuitem;
    avMenubar = AVAppGetMenubar();
    avMenuitem = AVMenubarAcquireMenuItemByName(avMenubar,
    "SaveAs");
    AVMenuItemRemove(avMenuitem);
    Is it possible to disable shortcuts?

    I have compiled the hook class as a DLL and called the function within it using the following code in the plugin:
    //Installing Keyboard Hook
    static HINSTANCE hinstDLL;
    typedef BOOL (CALLBACK *inshook) ();inshook instkbhook;
    hinstDLL = LoadLibrary((LPCTSTR)"hook.dll"); instkbhook = (inshook)GetProcAddress(hinstDLL,
    "installhook");
    It works perfectly fine on Acrobat 9.0, but crashes on Acrobat 8.0. I compiled both SDK versions for 8 and 9 using Visual Studio 2005 Professional. Any clue as to why this is happening?

  • Can't save IDML format automaticly

    Each time I save as IDML in INDesign CC, I have to manually re-choose the IDM file format in the file dropdown in Windows 7. It doesn't just save my open document as it would in any other case. Why do I always have to re enter and choose this file format each and every time although its the same document? It's open and I'm always forced to do the same procedure of manually picking the IDML format every time I hit CTRL+S and that is getting on my nerves. It really shouldn't be like that? The document is open and it should be enough to choose the IDML format the first time I save the document - right? Can't InDesign remember this? Very annoying.

    You have serious workflow issues.
    The main one being that all your colleagues should be working in the same version of InDesign as you.
    Saving back to IDML so someone with CS6 can open it is not a good workflow. Mostly, any new things that InDesign CC14 can do cannot be translated back to CS6, not to mention any new features that CC15 or CC16 may bring to the table.
    Just because your agency/company employs a flawed workflow doesn't mean you guys are doing it correctly!
    Just so you know - your workflow is not the norm.
    However, I have given you the alternate method of using File>Export and choosing IDML from there will retain it as a sticky.

  • Pages "save as" format

    i created a photo/text pages document(like a newsletter) with some jpegs,,about 3 pages, i saved and then zipped and sent to a pc user,, well it didnt come out as sent.. how do i save a newletter type doc with text and pictures and in what format so that it can be read and viewed as created, and what program would they read it under. is there a tag at the end of the saved file, like jpg on a picture. thanks in advance for any help that anyone could extend

    You have to go through the Export menu - not Save As... The most common formats to use for Windows exports are PDF (if you want the reader to see the document like you do) or Word Document (if you want the reader to be able to modify the content).
    You are not the first person to be confused by this.

  • Illustrator windows to save mac-formatted

    Hello,
    I currently have Illustrator CS3 windows version. Is there a way to save a file using windows program to Mac compatible file?
    I have to submit a Illustrator Mac-formatted file to publisher but only have Illustrator windows.
    Thank you.

    Thank you very much. I have another question: If page has a trim size of 8.125" w x 10.875 (h) and needs a bleed size of 8.5 x 11.125. Also bleed must include 1/8 bleed on head/face/foot dimensions. What exact bleed size should I put for top/bottom/left/right?
    thank you!
