'Save as pdf' and nothing happens?!?

Hi,
I encountered a problem with saving PDF from Illustrator files. I open/create an Illustrator *.ai file and when I choose 'Save as' it seems nothing happens.
However when I press 'Enter' a PDF with the default options is saved. Now I would like to change these options, but how without seeing the dialog? It happens with all my files (several/one artboards, different color modes,etc...) I have tried everything to get my dialog back but no chance!
This is what I have tried:Rebooting, ReInstalling Illustrator, ReInstalling Destiller, ReInstalling the whole Design Suite
System: Win7, CS4.
Any help is appreciated!

The dialog box is outside the screen. You may increase the screen resolution, drag it to the centre, and reduce the resolution again. There is another way I am trying to remember.
Ah, there it was: Harron normally says it: Move (or hit M) and use your arrow keys to move the dialog box back on screen.

Save as PDF and Nothing appears

I am using these two templatses in Illustrator CS3 to create a tri-fold brochure. Everything has been going pretty good, slow but good. Then I went to see how my brochure would look when I saved it as a PDF. Then when I open the newly created PDF nothing shows up, it is just a blank, white PDF. Not sure what I am doing wrong here.
After I open a template file I immediately do a save as, and rename the file and work with the it as an EPS file. I then got to a point and saved it as a pdf, but as I said earlier nothing shows in the PDF.
The templates I am using are as follows:
Brochure Inside_Blank.ait
Brochure Outside_Blank.ait
Can someone help me out with this?

Thanks I appreciate your help. Both of your suggestions are spot on. All my layers are under the guide layer. Is there a way to transfer the layers that I have already done into a printable layer?
Also I will start saving my work as an AI rather than an EPS. Is there a time when I should use EPS or would you just stick w/ saving as AI?

The content of the Share menu will depend on the file format. For PDFs the menu will be nearly empty and iPhoto and aperture are missing.

I can no longer send a Pages document. When I click Share my Send Via Email is grayed out. When I click on pdf or any format the pull down screen disappears and nothing happens. Why? I am using an iMac with Mountain Lion.

PDFs do not load in Firefox, they do when I'm in Safari. If I'm on a website and I click on a pdf link, nothing happens. It has happened from multiple sites.

I have all the updated plug-ins, etc. and checked to make sure everything on Firefox was updated. I'm on a MacBook Pro, 10.7.3. I've never had this problem before.

If your hard drive is getting full, you need to free up, at least, 20 GBs of space on your iMac's hard drive.
If your Mac is running a fairly recent version of OS X, here are some general guidelines.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your iMac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Other things you can do to gain space.
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
When you install and launch it, let it run the automatic ans S.M,A.R.T. tests, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run the tabs that have the ability to clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.

You have to remove the back hand file which was present in the Local Disk C >> Program Data >> Acrobat, if you remove this file. It will remove the SSH (Software System History) from the PC. Then you can efficiently reinstall the Adobe Acrobat XI

I downloaded Indesign CS3 trial and liked everything about it until I attempted to print to postscript and got that message. Nothing I have tried has helped. I have seen in various forums that others are having the same problem, but haven't found any solution offered. I am running Tiger 10.4.10 on a new Intel Imac with 3G ram. This is a procedure I use very often in my workflow, and have never had this problem with CS2 on my PC or other Macs. Is there a solution? I downloaded the .1 update and installed that and it didn't change anything.

Its the first time Im using print booklet option to save my file. I have the same problem when trying to save as pdf and get the

I'm trying to save a .pdf of a booklet of a facing pages document of A4 size each facing page for a whole size A3, then hope to let the pages be correctly arranged by inDesing, then print and staple.
Meaning pages will be like this - Page #60 left side [of the A3] - page #1 right side [of the A3] , page # 2 right side[of the A3] - page #59 left side[of the A3] etc...
I CANT DO IT. I tried to follow Melvin Thompson , but when I choose save .ps and open it in preview all I see is independent a4 pages and just the left ones , .. How can I save my file as .pdf ready to be printed in a3 ?

Is there no sound period? I mean nothing through the headphones or the speaker? If the sound works only through the speaker or just through the headphones the switch inside the headphone port maybe stuck open. Try plugging and unplugging 10 to 12 times to unstick it. If no sound at all, go into Settings>Music>Volume Limit. See if it is turned on, if so check that the limit is not turned down to zero. If still not the problem try a soft reset, press and hold the power and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears, about 15 seconds, then release. if still no joy go into Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. If still no joy, connect to iTunes via the cable and Restore to backup. If that doesn't work Restore to new. Just remember to save all your stuff that can be wiped before you restore, pictures, music, contacts etc. If none of this works, then maybe a hardware issue contact Apple Genius Bar or store and have your iPod evaluated. Cannot save as disc image, nothing happens

I am using iDVD 6.0.3 on my Intel Mac Mini. I have 37gb free. I imported the move from my camera into iMovie HD 6.0.3. Then I shared it into iDVD. Now I am trying to save the image to disc. When I do that, the little burning icon pops up for about 5-10 seconds and then goes back to grey and nothing happens. I am not able to burn to dvd because it errors everytime. I have saved a image to disc once before about a week ago but now I cannot with this new project. Any thoughts?

Firefox has been strongly suggesting I update, which I've tried, but I just get the "barber pole" wait with message "connecting to the update server" for hours and nothing happens

Firefox has been suggesting I update my software for a few weeks now. I happily click on "update now" and my Mac appears to be trying to connect to the update server. The window displays "Downloading Firefox" and the barber pole wait bar is moving. I've done this 5-6 times, for HOURS at a time, and nothing happens.

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
* Install the new version that you have downloaded

I click run, firefox downloads, and then the download window disappears and nothing happens?

I follow the directions on the site, wich say to click run. So I do, and it is supposed to run after its downloaded, but then when it downloads the download window closes and nothing happens.
