"Save as PDF" from Pages document made it smaller

I have a following problem: I created a simple CD Cover in Pages 09. Then I printed it on my HP 3055 printer and the dimensions were exact and it fit the CD case perfectly.
I need to send this CD cover to a friend, so I created a PDF file via Print -> Save as PDF. Then I verified the printing - to my sheer surprise the cover came out of the printer almost 5mm smaller than it originally was.
I don't want to change (apparantly correct!) size of the CD cover in the original Pages document. I just want a correct PDF out of it. I verified the dimensions of my original Pages document - and it fits A4 paper size on which I'm printing.
I'm confused. Did I miss something?

Thanks for your help. Yes, the cover fits rulers. I searched for "Automatic Page Scaling" which I do remember existing in Print dialogs from some applications - however from Pages I found only this in the Print dialogue, which vaguely ressembles to it:

Unable to mark the box 'create Multi-page PDF from page tiles' when saving to pdf-file

I am running Illustrator CS3 on a Mac OSX 10.5.8
I want to print a very large illustrator-file (1000 mm x 900 mm) across mutliple pages of A4-paper (5 x 5 sheets of A4-paper) by saving the file as a multi-page pdf file.
I first followed the instructions provided here:

When I then tried to save the file: -> File -> Save as -> 'choose .pdf from drop-down menu'
I get to this menu:
I am unable to mark the box that says: 'Create multi-page pdf from page tiles'. I have made a red arrow pointing to the box I want to mark.
I have tried changing the other drop-down menus inside this menu, to see if the box I want to mark could become available, but without any luck.
I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I would be grateful if anyone could help me set my settings right to allow me to create such a multi-page pdf-file.

Your ps file should be good, the problem likely resides elswehere. Maybe in your acrobat install, distillers settings. what error did distiller give?
Mine ran good and got a multi page document, here is a screenshot to help you troubleshoot.
On mac go to system preferences / print and fax / and change your default printer if you have another option. I know sounds like this should not help, but there are problems like Illustrator for example not making .pdfs if you do not have a printer chosen or an old or corrupt .ppd assigned.

Creating multi-page PDF from Page Tiles

Trying to save out a page-tiled Illustrator document to multi page PDF. The "Create Multi-Page PDF from Page Tiles" is ghosted/disabled when I save out as PDF; and printing to PDF doesn't size page edges properly. I've followed all directions and re-created new docs to see if I can get this to work, no luck.

This would be hard to answer but you must be missing something the question is what are you doing and how is the document set up and then the really important question what are doing wrong. Which I know you want us to tell you but without knowing what that is we cannot tell you what not to do.
If there is something you can tell that might give us a clue perhaps we can help.

Thanks Peter but I was not seeking to store with I-Cloud. In fact I never store documents with I-cloud.
I was in fact trying to store the files to Documents, which is where I usually keep such things.
Have now discovered that if I leave the file untiled and simply close it, rather than saving it then it will save, oddly, to Documents. I then have to re-title it and move to the folder I want it in.
Despite the above, even once it is titled and saved in Documents then if I reopen it I still cannot then Export it to a Word or PDF file. I still just get the message . xxxxxx.pages does not exist!
Bad news as I am constantly exporting documents to Word and PDF to send to others who do not use a Mac

Why is it that when i create letterheads, adn i save as pdf this word document, it comes out such poor quality?
Is there a setting to save with high quality output from acrobat, word to pdf or also how about print pdf?

You are on the Illustrator forum how does this relte to illustrator?
Are you ceating artwork in Illustrator and then inserting it into Word?
This is what I suggest Visit the Acrobat Forum or a Microsoft Word forum if there is one and ask there.
Or you can purchase ID or Illustrator and use them to create your letterhead.

Problems printing a high qaulity PDF from a document

Hello,
Recently I have had some problems printing a high qaulity pdf (acrobat 9 pro) from a document made in 2010 word.
Every time I have tried to print these documents there is information missing in the pdf incuding text, pictures, shapes etc.. This was never a problem untill I installed 2010 word.
I sent it to a friend, and he was able to print the document into a pdf just fine.
What can I do to fix this? It is very important that I tackle this problem asap!

Have you checked to see if Acrobat 9 or any version of Acrobat works with Office 2010?

This issue has been discussed many times. Until Adobe releases the next version of Acrobat, there is very little you can do.

Can you mail the files in any other format at all? Did you try emailing a Pages file as a Pages file or as a Word doc?
OK. My response was too late. If you can email them in another format, I don't see how the problem could be with the mail app, but I suppose it's possible anyway. I know that you restored the iPad, and this should help, but try resetting all settings.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings. No data will be lost but all of your settings will have to be entered again.

Cannot open any Pages documents made prior to upgrading to Yosemie. Pages does not appear in the iCloud list in system preferences.

Upgraded to Yosemite. Upgraded Pages to latest version. Uninstalled older versions of pages (made with iWork '09). Now I cannot open any Pages documents made prior to upgrading. I keep getting the same redundant message: "You need a newer version of Pages to open this document. You can download the latest version of Pages from the Mac App Store." Not sure if this is relevant, but Pages does not show up in the iCloud list in systems preferences.

Ok, I found pages on the iCloud drive. But the behavior of Pages is still the same, problem unchanged.

Faxing from pages document

If I want to fax a document from Pages, I go to File>Print>PDF>Fax PDF... then I get a message:"No fax modems found". I can send faxes directly (walk-up) from my HP C7280 (All-in-One). I am connected wirelessly to the printer (I can print documents, etc.). What I'm asking is: Can I fax a document from Pages? Have I chosen the wrong path?

My apologies for a very late acknowledgement of your reply! Due to a confluence of factors (new to Apple Discussions, new to Mac, new printer, and too much busyness), I dropped the ball...sorry. Meanwhile, my problem has been solved, as follows:
From Pages document>Print>Printer (uppermost drop-down menu)>choose the printer with fax designation (in my case, it shows the printer IP address for wireless connection). Midway down the window, drop-down menu is headed by "layout". Drop the menu>Fax Recipients>Fill in name & fax #>click "Add to Fax Recipients". "Send Fax Now" button (lower R corner of window) lights up. I can then send fax. If I want to first add a fax cover sheet>"layout" drop-down menu>choose "Fax Cover Sheet". The window then shows "Cover Page Template". There's a choice of Templates 1-8. There's a small Template preview window (lower right corner), but the print is tiny and unclear (can't make it bigger or clearer). I needed to send samples of all templates to a friend in order to see what they were like! (HP had no better solution!). After choosing a Template, I entered recipient name, fax #, and my message (in "Notes" window). The "Send fax now" button lights up. I then click it and send the fax with cover sheet.
It's a lot of fussing, but it gets the job done. When time allows, I'll set up a Workflow to ease the pain!

We have heard few users having similar issue as yours and found out the problem for one of the users is this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2716529 .
I was able to reporduce this problem(square with a 'X') by changing the TabProcGrowth registry entry to 0.
This tool provided by Microsoft is for Win 8, to run this on Win 7 you can manually change the registry setting : please see " Let me fix it myself" in above url.
Before running these steps please make sure yours indeed is the same problem.
Please be very careful as some registry settings (not this one) can create serious problems on a Windows system including causing it to no longer boo

PDF Multi Pages Document

Hello, I'd like to know if with Bridge I can compose PDF multi pages documents assembling pages of different sizes... I was able to do that with Photoshop older versions... but I cant' manage the situation with Bridge because in Output window I can set the page dimension but the program automatically sets all the pages at the same size... Is there any way out???

How to remove "Save as PDF" from context menu

The item "Save as PDF" leads to a commercial site called NITRO. I am trying to eliminate it from the context menu. I installed the add-on Menu Edit and changed the item Save as PDF from visible to hidden on my Windows 8.1 PC with Firefox 30. However, the item did not disappear from the context menu. Yet on my PC with Linux Mint 17 with Firefox 30 for Linux Mint the item is gone from the context menu. My PC s linked with Firefox Synch.
How can I remove this?

Such an entry in the context menu is likely added by a PDF related extension, so check your extensions.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
