"Save as PDF" - pages truncated - whole right side missing

When using "Save as PDF", the resulting image has the right margins truncated.
The right margins are cropped off so document is displayed in very large characters (although I'm in 80 %) and the whole right side of the page is non-existent.
Problem occurs with Firefox 3.6.14 in my main account.
When creating a test account, problem disappear.
I tried to ditch all Adobe Acrobat preferences and Firefox Profiles.
No avail.
Problem never occur in Safari 5.03
In my second machine (Mac Book Pro), the problem does not occur.

Yes, Acrobat is my default viewer so far.
Until a few days ago, when I "Save as Pdf" from the printing menu,
I had a regular PDF created from the web page I was in.
Since a few days, I have that clipped unusable page.
When doing the same in Safaru, no problem at all.
That bug has several occurrences from other users in Mozilla forums.
There is also one instance in this Apple Discussions forum.
No reply though.
In Preferences, I only found Page Display and don't see nothing related
to Page Setup. I only find Page Layout which is set on Automatic. Any other setup don't change anything.
When using the same feature ion my Mac Book Pro, same Firefox, same everything, no proiblem at all. So it's related to pref in my iMac and I don't know what because I didn't change anything recently. Really annoying because I need that feature very often.

  • Word file save as PDF cut off on right side. How do I fix it?

    I saved a Word file in PDF. When it opens in Preview, the end of the lines on the right side are cut off. How do I restore the text to full size?

    Sounds like the dialog is off screen. You can try to reset the Preferences by using Cmd-Opt-Shift on restarting AI. That might bring it back to the current screen.

  • When printing from websites, only first page prints correctly. Rest of pages lose about one quarter of the page on the right side.

    Starting with the 2nd page, the pages are expanded and the whole right side of the page is gone. This only seems to happen on my Mac. I run Firefox on my PC and it prints correctly. At first I thought it was a problem with certain websites, but it always happens when I try to print out more than one page.

    The 2nd page print scaling error has been an issue with Firefox on the Mac since 2011. People at Mozilla have not considered this a major problem. Try printing anything at less than 100% and you'll quickly see how every page after the first page being scaled wrong gets old real fast. The lack of a solution to this issue forced me long ago into using Safari as my primary browser. Good luck waiting until version 21 for a solution. Current release is 18.0.2.

  • PDF Page Sizes - Large format sizes missing (Acrobat Std 11)

    Hi All,
    We are an Architectural practice that has recently purchased a number of Acrobat Standard 11, licences. This is to supplement the 6 creative suites we already have.
    We have discovered however, that Standard does not have large format page sizes available such as A2, A1, A0 etc. Why? I have installed these as standalone licences on 5 other computers to date, all with the same missing information.
    The Adobe suites we have are standard and only have acrobat 9, they have these sizes, so how can a higher version have them missing?
    This problem is all over the web including these forums. The latest i could find was nearly a year ago. I am hoping Adobe has created a patch to fix this problem since.
    Attempts to add custom sizes to match the suites indicates they already exist! We can only create the sizes we need if we use different names, which is problematic for us as many of our settings look for this name to setup our printing.
    I would appreciate any assistance in fixing this problem as
    Thank you.

    I have the same problem.  There is a reasonably good workaround.  You can permanently define as many additional pages sizes as you needed including non-standard sizes.  I have one that is 36" X 90".
    Here's how  (I'm using Widows 7):
    1.  From the Start Dialog, choose Devices and Printers in the lower right.
    2.  On the Devices and Printers control panel right-click on Adobe PDF and select Printing Preferences
    3.  On the Adobe PDF Printing Preferences dialog click the "Add" button
    4.  On the Add Custom Paper Size dialog enter a name that will make sense to you like "A1" or, in my case "36 X 90"
    5.  On the Add Custom Paper Size dialog select the correct unit of measure and enter the width and height
    6.  On the Add Custom Paper Size dialog click the "Add/Modify" button
    7.  The new size is now available in the Adobe PDF Page Size drop-down.  Select it.  Click "OK"
    8.  On the Devices and Printers control panel right-click on Adobe PDF and select Printing Preferences
    9.  On the Adobe PDF Printing Preferences dialog you will see that the new size is NOT selected.  Select it again.  This time it will become the current selection.  Making a paper size the current select may not be needed for all applications.
    After step 6, if you open an application the new size should appear in the paper size drop-down from Print > Properties > Paper/Quality tab > Advanced button.  It may also appear in the drop-down of the Adobe PDF Setting tab.
    I hope this helps.

  • Why can't I save a pdf page?

    Why does Apple disable the "SaveAs..." option when it comes to saving pdf web page? It didn't disable it in earlier versions? Most PDF files are publicly accessible downloadable files (not protected or have any intellectual property protection) not much different than any HTML files, so why does Safari disable the SaveAs option?
    It is irritating that you have to use FireFox or other browser to save a simple file.
    There are many other types of file that Safari disabled the SaveAs option, such as audio and video file format.

    Is this Safari 3 or Safari 4?
    You have to wait for the PDF to be 100% loaded before the Save As option is available.

  • Save as PDF Page Formatting

    Hi All,
    I built a tool in Excel 2007 which allows the user to publish a formatted output to PDF.  To get around the fact that the excel pulls the printer metrics from the active printer, I had the tool load up the MODI printer and use its metrics so I always
    had a consistent borderless printer driver source across all users and all was well.
    I have a problem on the horizon though, my work is moving their OS across to 64bit Windows 7 and the MODI does not run on 64bit.
    Is there a way to manually define the printer metrics and force excel 2007 to use those as a pass through when creating a PDF, alternatively can I just tell it to ignore the active printer like you can in word?
    Failing that Is there a better fixed page formatting method in either Excel 2010 or 2013?

    Hi,
    Do you mean that you built a tool to load up the MODI printer and use its metrics, but the the MODI does not run on 64bit, so you want to manually define the printer metrics?
    Since You said you want to manually define the printer metrics and I think the issue is more related to the feature of Excel, I'd like to move it to Excel IT pro forum.

  • How do I get my sections using two-page spreads to start on the right side of the spread?

    (I use Indesign CC 2014, on Windows 7)
    My book has multiple sections.
    Each section is a separate file.
    All pages use  2up master pages.
    If all sections had an even number of pages, there would be no issue. But some end on a left page (left side page of spread).
    Therefore, some sections needs to start their first page on the right side of spread.
    I need to output PDFs for production, and due to content fluctuation the quantity of pages in each spread is random.
    Do I have to manage whether each section starts on the left or right of the spread manually?
    Here's an example:
    Once the PDF is output, I need the first page of Section 2 to automatically be where the pink rectangle is.
    Instead, the last page of Section 1 and the first page of Section 2 both use the left facing page of my 2up master pages.

    FYI, in western left-to-right-reading languages, books are expected to be numbered with odds on the right and evens on the left. If you want to start a new section on a left page after a section that ends on a left page, what most people would do is add a blank right page. You will often see such a page labeled something like "This page has been intentionally left blank." or maybe just an ornament to show that it wasn't a misprint. That is preferred to numbering a left page with an odd number.

  • Right side of placed images being cut off when exported to PDF

    Hi all,
    I'm a beginner still trying to wrap my mind around InDesign and all its features, and have encountered a problem with exporting to PDF. The right-most 1-4 pixels are cut off! I think my problem may be related to what was discussed in this thread:
    Indesign, Image problem with PDF export... right side cut-off...
    But my issue has nothing to do with Visio. I'm simply placing PNG and JPG files that have already been created and are stored locally on my computer. I found that the only way to solve this is to add a few pixel columns of white/empty space to my images so the right side frame line in the images (created by Adobe Illustrator) appear.
    Having to alter my images first before placing them in InDesign is obviously not the best or the correct solution.
    Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this problem and how to correct it? Maybe there's a setting somewhere for image frames that needs to be adjusted?

    Hello again Willi,
    1. I'm using CS6 Version 8.0
    2. Umm... well, I'm VERY embarrassed to say Windows XP (my company is purchasing a new computer for me - I'm using what they have on hand at the moment...).
    3. The graphics are coming from Adobe Illustrator installed on a separate Windows 7 computer. I have a graphic designer colleague who creates images for the installation manuals I put together.
    4. Actually just this morning yet another colleague pointed out that PDF was the better format to use. Yet again I'm VERY embarrassed to say that I used to use Microsoft PowerPoint to create these manuals, and PowerPoint can't import PDF images. I'm trying hard to work with more professional software! That's why my colleague sent me PNG images.
    5. Here's a screenshot below. Remember I'm the guy who asked you that user manuals question in the other thread.
    To explain: the first step's image is in PDF format. The image's border appears fine. The second step's image is in PNG format, and yes, not only does the quality appear to be poorer, but even worse is the fact that the right side border is cut off. This is the same for the same image in JPG format. The other steps don't have images - they're just empty image frames with strokes specified in InDesign.
    Sure, we can use PDFs from now on, but still, the fact that other formats have this issue is bothersome. In Microsoft PowerPoint this wasn't an issue. Any idea?

  • The right side of my browser window is cut off. There is no scroll bar on the right and the search bar (upper right) is chopped off (right side).

    Actually, the whole right side of the window is cut off, including the page/window header. This isn't just the websites I visit, it's the whole browser window(s). The word "Settings" is also cut off on the right side.

    It is possible that the screen is too wide or too high and that the scroll bars fall off.
    * Use Restore or Maximize in the right-click context menu of the Taskbar icon to set focus to the Firefox application if you do not see the Firefox window.
    * Open the system menu of that Firefox window via Alt+Space and see if you can move and resize that window.
    If that works then close Firefox (File > Exit/Quit) to save that setting.

  • How to export antialiased images of PDF pages?

    Hello all:
    I recently upgraded to Acrobat XI, and I am surprised to see that you STILL cannot export (or Save As) PDF pages to images that are ANTIALIASED!? Does anyone have a simple answer for this that doesn't involve a workflow of more than 5 steps? This is so headslappingly obvious a need that I'm at a loss for what Adobe's engineers are thinking when programming the Save As Image functions...
    I posted this question all the way back in 2009 (see post at http://forums.adobe.com/message/2411677#2411677), and still the answer is the same: when Acrobat saves pages as TIF or JPEG files, they are ALIASED. Who would want that? Who?! WHY?
    It's simply exasperating that Adobe does not include a tiny, little check box that says "Antialiased" in the "Save As TIF / JPEG Settings" dialog box where you set all kinds of parameters like resolution and colorspace....If the exporting process would just include antialiasing, you could set the resolution you desire and YOU'RE DONE.
    But, as far as I can tell, you still have to perform some kind of gymnastic routine like:
    Open the PDF and select all the desired page thumbnails to export.
    Right-click and choose Extract Pages. Make sure to check "Extract Pages as Separate Files."
    Export all the separate PDFs for each desired page into a folder somewhere.
    Open Photoshop and start recording an Action.
    Open one of the PDFs and specify the desired resolution.
    Save it in a desired location in an image file of your choice (TIF/JPEG).
    Stop recording the Action.
    Delete the resulting image you made of the test PDF page to avoid an overwriting error later when running the batch (or check box to overwrite in batch dialog).
    Run the Action in Batch mode on the entire folder of separate PDF pages.
    This is preposterous.
    Adobe, please get the simple things right for everyday low-level users before adding feature bloat to Acrobat with each passing version. Please.

    Hi Dave: Good points about reducing feature bloat and installer footprint taking priority for most users...
    However, if, as you say:
    Acrobat and Adobe Reader are developed as a standalone product family....
    Ultimately, since you can get an AA bitmap of a PDF file by just opening it in Photoshop etc., there is very little commercial demand for Adobe to include that feature in Acrobat.
    then, those people who do not have Photoshop (because AA is designed to be standalone, right?) cannot access antialiasing in exporting PDF images at all! Your point is exactly my point.
    If there is so little demand, then why include Export to Image functionality at all? Just eliminate it completely to save installer footprint space!....But, then, I'm sure you realize people would complain about that immediately, no? So, again, why include it at all when it's only able to export aliased images which virtually nobody is going to want? That's very passive-aggressive toward's Adobe's users. Nobody really benefits from half-baked features only begrudgingly included in software to placate the vocal minority of users who would otherwise miss it. I realize this isn't a huge issue for most users, but I think this points to a larger mentality within Adobe and the software industry in general....
    There is a huge number of people working in corporations that own legacy versions of AA who have not and will not likely subscribe to Creative Cloud! (e.g.: The 100-person architecture/engineering firm I worked at for 10 years had one copy of Photoshop on a community graphics workstation and made everyone use a sign-up sheet to access it.)
    Also, it's nice in theory that PDFs are supposed to be a print format. But, many many times, AA users have to make images (for PowerPoint, blogs, client portals etc.) from PDFs that they did not originally create and do not have the source files to recreate or export as images from their originating software. PDF export to images from Acrobat is their only choice without access to Photoshop.
    And, if AA is truly designed to be a stand-alone product, untethered from the capabilities of the entire suite of functionality across Creative Cloud apps, then a modular plug-in approach to controlling feature bloat would be more appropriate, no?
    For example, AutoCAD is a giant, sprawling application for technical drawing. And AutoDesk has recognized over the years that AutoCAD is used by many industries, each with special needs unneccesary to other industries' user base. So, they've created add-on packs of plug-ins that transform vanilla AutoCAD into AutoCAD for Architecture, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Bridge Design, Home Building, etc....see where I'm going?
    And Adobe has a far larger installed user base for Acrobat than AutoDesk does for AutoCAD! How about plugins like AA for Technical Publishing, AA for 3D modeling, AA for Presentations?...

  • Listing Bookmark Script Align Page Numbers to Right

    Hello,
    I have a script which will list Bookmark Names and then the Page Number after the bookmark as follows:
    Bill Smith  Page#1
    Jeffrey Jones  Page#5
    Christopher James  Page#8
    What I would like the script to achieve is to list the bookmarks and then align the Page numbers to the right side of the pdf instead of jumbled together.
    Can anyone please advise if it is possible to do this in javascript?
    The existing code is as follows:
    /* List all Bookmarks */
    /* Recursively work through bookmark tree  */
    function PrintBookmarks(bm, nLevel)
        if (nLevel != 0) { // don't print the root
            bmReport.absIndent=bmTab*(nLevel-1);
    bm.execute();
                bmReport.writeText(" "+bm.name +" Page "+(bm.doc.pageNum +1));
        if (bm.children != null)
              for (var i = 0; i < bm.children.length; i++)
                PrintBookmarks(bm.children[i], nLevel + 1);
    bmTab = 20;
    bmReport = new Report();
    bmReport.size = 2;
    bmReport.writeText(this.title);

    Thank you very much for your help.
    I have modified the script to have the bookmarks and page numbers on separate lines, however the indent does not go further than the middle of the page on the seconde line for the page numbers, no matter how much the indent is modifed  (I am also using version 8 of Adobe).
    Can you please advise how to get the indent to increment past the middle of the page to the right side of the page?
    The script which has been modified is as follows:

    /* Recursively work through bookmark tree  */
    function PrintBookmarks(bm, nLevel)

    bmReport.absIndent=(580);
    bmReport.writeText(" Page "+(bm.doc.pageNum +1));
        if (bm.children != null)
              for (var i = 0; i < bm.children.length; i++)
                PrintBookmarks(bm.children[i], nLevel + 1);
    bmTab = 20;
    bmReport = new Report();
    bmReport.size = 2;
    bmReport.writeText(this.title);
    bmReport.writeText(" ");
