"Save As" window ONLY opens as full screen and is not sizeable

I am using Reader X version 10.1.6, I just upgraded today HOPING that my issue was addressed, but it was not.
Now that Adobe -in it's brilliance - has disabled the "Save" button, users have to be inconvenienced by going to File>>Save As.  When I do this, the Save As disalog box opens - but ONLY to full screen. That means that I cannot see the document I am trying to save in order to name it properly.
I have tried:
moving the size of the window box itself (by trying to move the sides and corners of the box)
Playing around with screen resolution (this has now impact whatsoever)
I WOULD HAVE tried clicking the double-box in the top right corner of the screen...IF THERE WAS ONE TO CLICK but that is simple not there.
This applies to both .pdfs sent to me in an email as well as those opened from a browser window.
Please provide details as to which settings need to be adjusted to stop the Save As dialog box from opening to full screen

cor-el,
I kept forgetting and procrastinating about following your instructions, since I have internet access only for limited amounts of time and usually I am busy with important tasks when I am.
Out of the blue, the problem corrected itself (the Save As box started to open full screen, then shrunk down to a normal size and the edges can now be dragged to a custom size).
Even the copy and paste problem in the filenaming area seems to have been less troublesome lately even though there have been no updates to Firefox in a few weeks.
Even though I marked the solution as not helpful, the problem has in fact been resolved. I will save the solution instructions in case the issue returns.

  • "Save As" Dialog Box Opens As Full Screen. How to Disable?

    At some point my "Save As" dialog box began to open as full screen. Don't know why. There is no way that I can find to get it out of full screen mode. I've looked at the preferences and can't find any obvious control for this behavior. It's not a big deal, but it's very annoying. I've not been able to find anywhere else that this question has been asked.
    I tried "Save As Other" and it behaves the same way.
    The document itself is not opened full screen.
    I'm using Windows 7. Currently I'm running Adobe Reader XI, but the behavior started before that. I think I may have accidentally typed in some combination of keys (or dropped something on the keyboard) that set some kind of option somewhere.
    Thanks for any help.

    Wouldn't you know it. By entering this question a similar question finally showed up. The answer is to right-click in the top of the window and select "Restore." Problem solved.

  • Want window to open in full screen mode.

    Hi
    I am doing portal navigation on click of a button. The new window presently opens externally but not in full screen mode. Could anyone please help me acheive the functionality.
    If it cannot open in full screen maximized mode. Can I place it in the center of the screen and adjust its size.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    as per below method, you can pass correct values to parameter WINDOW_FEATURES.
    call method lr_port_manager->navigate_absolute
    exporting
    navigation_target = navigation_data-target
    navigation_mode = navigation_data-navigation_mode
    window_features = navigation_data-window_features
    window_name = navigation_data-window_name
    history_mode = navigation_data-history_mode
    target_title = navigation_data-target_title
    context_url = navigation_data-context_url
    post_parameters = ABAP_FALSE
    use_sap_launcher = abap_true
    business_parameters = bus_parameter_list
    launcher_parameters = launcher_parameter_list.
    It has values,
    RESIZABLE-  Windows can be resized
    WIDTH-  Width of the window
    HEIGTH-  Height of the window
    I hope this will help you.
    Thanks,
    Chandra

  • IMovie only opens in full screen

         I have an iMac that has iMovie '11 on it, and I can only view the window in full screen. if I exit full screen the window goes away yet I can still see the options for iMovie at the top bar. Any ideas on how to fix this?

    with the imovie open put your cursor to the top of the screen until the main menu appears. click on the word view and then exit full screen
    once you do that, click on the word imovie in the main menu bar and hold down the option key and choose "quit and close all windows" this should remove the previous state of the application.
    try reopening it and it should be in normal view.

  • After downloading 3.6.17, the application only opens from the desktop and will not show up as an application.

    Didn't like 4.0, so I deleted it and downloaded the .dmg to reinstall 3.6.17. The app opens fine but I did not get the usual installation screens and Firefox does not show as an application.
    Simple fix?

    My question above was.......
    If you power off the AirPort Express completely for now, can AirPort Utility "see" the AirPort Extreme that you previously set up?
    In addition.....
    Are these recent versions of the AirPort Extreme and AirPort Express?
    Are you using OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.4 as your profile above indicates?

    Hello,
    I think, by clearing Cache and cookies, may solve this problem
    To clear cache and cookies do the following:
    #Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
    #Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
    #Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
    #From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
    #Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
    Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
    Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Save as dialog box expanded to full screen, edge arrows flicker and will not pull the edges in.

    This problem presented itself out of the blue. The Save As dialog box expanded to full screen, and although the arrows that appear when the mouse cursor is over the edge of a window are present, they flicker and do not grab the edge to pull it in. Every other window on the computer does not have an issue like this. Restarting Firefox or the computer does not eliminate the problem. I am hoping that there is a settings file somewhere that the numeric value for the dialog box size can be changed, since I do not want to completely reinstall the browser.
    As a side note, if the browser has been running many downloads for a while, it will usually start failing to display information, and eventually will get to a point where the Save As box flickers for an instant and disappears and the entire browser becomes unresponsive for an hour or more. Downloads continue (including the one that it froze up on, albeit as a randomly named file in User...Temp), but it is not possible to restart the browser until the downloads complete (which in some cases can be several hours). Usually I revert to using IE11 until I can restart Firefox.
    Perhaps one of my strongest dislikes of Firefox though is the issue with its resistance to copy and paste operations in the Save As dialog box. Most websites offer files with cryptic and even identical names for different files, so renaming files is a critical operation if one is to keep track of and later identify the files one has. A problem unique to Firefox, attempts to highlight and paste in a better file name usually are met with a refusal to paste, a stuck context menu that can take a minute of clicking to clear, repeated jumping to the end of the file name, and other similar issues. I have encountered this problem repeatedly on different computers and different operating systems, it is a problem I have only ever encountered in Firefox.

  • Opening pictures full screen as default

    I'm using Photoshop Elements 4.0 and here's what I'd like to do. When someone sends me a picture via email, I'd like to automatically open it full screen and view it. As it is, photoshop always opens it in editor mode. Is this possible and if so, how? Thanks, Adrian

    Adrian,
    I suggest that you change the file association so that the files sent to you via e-mail will open in Window> Picture and Fax Viewer.
    To do this:
    1. Right click on a JPEG file, such as one sent to you
    2. Select>Open with>Choose program, then scroll down to Win & Fax viewer
    3. At the bottom of the dialog check the box to always use the selected program to open this kind of file.

    Hi, after installing Adobe CC I tried opening Adobe Photoshop. This failed.
    I get the opening window where it says installing plugins searching etc, after which PS opens in full screen.
    Just moments after that there's a failure warning, no code number, only the warning that PS failed to open and PS will close.
    I tried downloading it for a second time, but this did'nt solve the problem.
    Befor the CC version I used a one year student version of Adobe CS6.
    What can I do?

    Regarding the Flash Player problem, disable Hardware Acceleration to circumvent driver incompatibilities.
    Regarding the Flash Pro installation problems, post in the Flash forums or http://forums.adobe.com/community/download_install_setup

  • Since updating a day ago, Firefox will not open on full screen on Windows 7

    Accessing from taskbar on Windows 7 shows its open but will not open on full screen. And its also affected my Quicken program, doing the same thing. I uninstalled and reinstalled, still same problems. Did the updates affect my computer? And adobe was updated at the same time. I spent two hours w/ Quicken support, problem still exists. The only change that was made to the computer was the Mozilla update.

    Right-click on the shortcut used to open Firefox and select Properties. If you get a Windows Jump list when you right click, right-click on the Firefox entry in the jump list and select properties.
    In the Shortcut tab of the properties dialog box, set the Run option to Maximized, then click OK to save the settings.
    You can do this for any program.

  • How to have new Safari windows open in full screen?

    Hello,
    I am wondering if it is possible to have new Safari windows take up the full screen. For example, if I click on a link that opens a new window, I would like that new window to take on the fully maximized setting of the window it came from. So even if the website code says the window has to be 50% screen real estate, I would like to be 100% every time automatically.
    Thanks.

    Yet another great thing that Glims can do!
    If you want to fix your Google search to a specific Google location, I recommend that you download and install the free plug-in Glims:
    http://www.machangout.com/
    which not only does that but much more equally useful stuff! (Such as automatically deleting Flash cookies, enabling Safari to run full-screen, and more.)
    (It adds items to Safari Preferences).
    Not only does it already list a number of search engines and regions, but you can also add any other search engine not already listed in Glims by using the method described here:
    http://www.machangout.com/tutorials/addsearchengine
    Just enter the name you give the search engine in the name field, and the URL for it in the Query URL field.
    When you have it, the setting is in Glims Preferences/General
