Save Contacts from Exchange to iphone

Hi There,
I wanted to know that if there is a way to save the contacts that get populated by exchange to the iphone. For example, I have setup my exchange account on my iphone, I sync the contacts to my phone, so whenever I have to add a new contact I create it in my outlook and it works perfectly..
My issue was, I recently left the company i was working for and as soon I left, the exchange was cut off and with that all my contacts disappeared as well. I wanted to know if there was a better that whatever contacts I create in exchange, I can copy it directly to my phone so in an event if I am no longer a user to that exchange server I still have access to my contacts.
Thanks for your response

This is not new - not with my MobileMe account, which I use for syncing contact info over the air with my iPhone.
Contact info synced over the air is available on your iPhone without an internet connection, but obviously in internet connection is required in order to sync contact info with the online address book for the account.
If you leave the company along with your Exchange account no longer being active, syncing contact info over the air will no longer be possible. I don't know if the account no longer being active along would erase all contact info from your iPhone, but deleting the account from your iPhone or turning Contacts off for over the air syncing will remove all contact info from your iPhone.
You can sync contact info over the air with an Exchange account and/or with a MobileMe account, or you can sync contact info direct with a supported application on your computer via the iTunes sync process. You can do one or the other, not both at the same time.
Contact info on your iPhone is included with your iPhone's backup, which is created and maintained by iTunes, but so is email account setup info. If you leave the company with your Exchange account no longer being active, you can restore your iPhone with iTunes to restore contact info, but your Exchange account settings would be restored also. Since you would have over the air syncing enabled for your Exchange account on your iPhone, this would prevent you from syncing your iPhone's contact info direct with a supported application on your computer via the iTunes sync process.
Long story short, your Exchange contact info may remain on your iPhone, but your contact info may be eventually lost since your Exchange account would no longer be active. You would probably receiving constant error messages about your Exchange account not being able to connect, and you wouldn't be able to sync contact info direct with a supported application on your computer, and if you delete your Exchange account from your iPhone in order to do so, this will also delete all contact info from your iPhone.
You would probably need to export your Exchange account info from a computer used at work to access the account, followed by importing the contact info into a supported address book application on your computer at home, followed by syncing your iPhone with the supported address book on your computer via the iTunes sync process after deleting your Exchange account from your iPhone.

  • HT5058 Why does the iCloud backup/restore save contacts from Exchange or CardDAV?

We push MDM configurations to iOS users which include e-mail, contact, and calendar setups for the user to use. What we don't want is the user to have the ability to keep these on their phone if we do a remote wipe and don't activate/enroll their device in our MDM solution again. E-mail isn't touched on the iCloud backup so a restore doesn't put it back on, but contacts and calendar are backed up as part of the iCloud backup despite coming from the MDM configuration. This means our company data can reside on their personal backups.
Is there a way to stop this from happening?

iTunes only keeps one normal backup per iOS device, most likely because an iOS device backup can be 6GB's or more in size. Given the fact that many users sync daily, their hard drives would quickly fill up, with mostly useless iOS device backups, if iTunes kept a separate backup each time you synced.
As for contacts, they are designed to be synced with a supported contact application on your computer or a cloud service. Relying solely on an iPhone backup as the sole depository of this data invites disaster. Had you been syncing your contacts, as designed, you wouldn't be in this boat.

  • Duplicate contacts from outlook to iphone 4S

I have read many posts about contacts being duplicated on the iPhone. I have not used iCloud, but there were contacts in there. I deleted them and turned contacts off in iCloud on my phone, which deleted all the contacts on my phone.
I have recently deleted many contacts from Outlook, so wanted ONLY those on my phone. When I sync via computer cable connection to iPhone, even the deleted contacts still show up, and many, many contacts are duplicated, even though there is only one contact in Outlook.
In addition, many contacts have dupicate fields. If i delete the duplicate contacts or the duplicate fields, they disappear from Outlook altogether.
This is driving me seriously crazy!!!
    Please, someone help!

You can use google sync to solve the issue about how to transfer contacts from Nokia to iPhone.
1 Launch Mail Exchange on your Nokia phone and setup using the settings mentioned here.
2 Now use your iPhone and navigate to Settings app and go to Mail,Contacts,Calendar tab.
3 Add an account and select Microsoft Exchange . Enter all your google account details as shown here .
4 Now your Google Sync is ready . Sync to transfer your contacts.
I have always been nervous about my iphone data and especially contacts. Not knowing how to transfer my contacts safely over to another phone, not least another sytem was preventing me from switching over. Now, I konw a app called Phone to Phone transfer that can copy everything from Nokia to iPhone without iTunes.

How to get my contacts from ipad to iphone?  (I don't want any contacts to come from my PC via icloud, only from the ipad.)

Well, if both your iPad and iPhone have ios 7 you could AirDrop the contacts. This may seem time consuming if have a lot of contacts as you have to select all the ones you want to transfer. But it is useful if you want transfer only specific contacts and not the whole contact list. Oh, and another thing: your iPad has to be a 4th generation or higher and your iPhone has to be 5th generation or higher.

  • I just got a new iphone4.  I want to transfer my contacts from my old iphone but itunes is not doing it

I just got a new iphone and want to transfer my contacts from my old iphone, and photographs.  when I sync it has not transfered anything to the new phone.  thanks.

In iTunes, did you click your  iPhone under "devices" then go through the tabs to set things up?  There's one setting that you need to check to sync contacts.

Buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store, install it, and run Software Update twice.

How can icopy contacts from ipad to iphone? andd viceversa?
    thanks

Another way is to use one of many apps from the App Store. Note that you'll need to setup the same email account, accessible by both devices.
Search the App Store for an app called My Contacts Backup (free, and available in the US App Store, I don't know about other countries). Install the app on both devices. Run the app on the iPad 2 and have it backup your contacts. It will compile them into a vCard format and allow you to email the file to yourself. On the iPhone 5s, access the email that you sent the vCard file to, find the message and tap on the vCard attachment. Follow the directions and your contacts will now be transferred to the iPhone.
You can simply reverse the procedure to copy in the other direction.

  • Upload contact from Nokia to Iphone 3GS

How can I upload contact from Nokia to Iphone 3GS?

Or if your Nokia supports syncing contacts via bluetooth with an address book application on your computer that is supported for syncing contacts with the iPhone - iSync on a Mac provides for this - syncing contacts with the Address Book on a Mac with a number of cell phones this is supported with. Follow this by syncing your iPhone with the address book on your computer via the iTunes sync process.
With Windows, this can be with Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010 along with syncing calendar events and notes, or with the address book application used by Outlook Express or by Windows Mail called Windows Contacts for syncing contacts only.

  • Is it possible to pass contacts from pc to iphone 5?

is it possible to pass contacts from pc to iphone 5?

    Hello yoseba,
Thank you for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you want to move or sync contacts on your PC with your iPhone 5.
Depending on which application on your PC stores your contacts, you may be able to sync them with your iPhone using iTunes or iCloud.
For example, iCloud will sync contacts from Outlook 2007 or later, as mentioned in the System requirements for iCloud.
You can find the steps to set up iCloud or iTunes to sync on these support pages:
Apple - iCloud - Learn how to set up iCloud on all your devices.
Sync your iPhone, iPad, and iPod with iTunes using USB - Apple Support

  • I have deleted contacts from my old iPhone 4 and they have also been deleted from my new iPhone 6, can they be restored?

I have deleted contacts from my old iPhone 4 and they have also been deleted from my new iPhone 6, can they be restored?

How were you syncing contacts? If you still had the iPhone 4 connected and the 6 at the same time, then you may have made a fatal mistake. I'm guessing that you were using a cloud service for your contacts?
