Save ftp login info

Is there a setting or patch to make sure that DW does
actually save my remote login info in the site definition box? It
used to save it ok in MX but in 8 every time I open DW I have to
enter uname pword to connect to remote site even though the 'Save'
checkbox is checked? A small but very annoying problem!

A reinstall *should* preserve site definitions, but you can
always export
the sites first using DW's Site Manager, just to be safe.

  • DW8 does not save the FTP login info

Since I upgraded to DW8 I have to retype all the FTP login
information every time I try to connect to a remote site.
The "save" check box is checked. I have downloaded the latest
updates. My operating system is xp. What can I do to make DW save
    the information?

Updating to 8.0.2 does the job.

  • Saving the site's FTP login info

I figured out that I can save a MUSE site to the Creative Cloud so I can share site maintenance between my two computers. It works great for making sure a site is kept synced between the two computers. One thing that doesn't get synced is the FTP information. Right now I save a small .txt file in the CC folder with the .muse document so the login information is handy when I need to re-type it.
Is there a trick or tip for having the FTP login information saved within the .muse file so I don't have to re-type it whenever I switch computers?

The key phrase there from the Adobe Staff was "FTP credentials are specific to a given machine+site file+Adobe ID". Everything is true except that it happens when I open it on a different machine. That must be it but it sure is inconvenient when moving back and forth between machines.
Thanks, Gaurav. I think you got it.

  • Running iMac with Lion upgrade; why wont my keychain save website login info

    Hi,
My safari only saves a few of the login info for website logins.  I am running latest lion.
    Thanks, Steve

My autofill is properly set.  It seems like a majority are not remembered in key chain.  I am also running SplashId, but its not ready to use for autofill if I initiate outside of their program.
    Is there anyway around this?

  • Why won't FireFox save my login info anymore?

All of my saved login info no longer works and I can't get it to work. I've checked "remember passwords for sites" but still nothing. Any suggestions?

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?
If the latter happens then you have a problem with cookies that are not kept or the file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

  • Update wipes out ftp login info!

So I just updated Dreamweaver CS5 with the latest updates from Adobe and it wipes out all the ftp user info for each site.  What is up with that?!
You think they would have fixed this by now.
    Very disappointed.

    Hi bernwa,
Sorry for any frustration this may have caused.
Restarting your computer should restore them. See this document for more information:

  • Dreamweaver can't save ftp login data

    Hi,
Every time I open DreamWeaver, I have to reenter my ftp
account data (username & password). I always check 'save' but
it ALWAYS forgets it as soon as I close and restart DreamWeaver.
Where is the that data being stored? Maybe DW doesn't have
access to a certain folder or something? Or is this a known issue?
    Thank you for your time.

  • Saving FTP Login info - Won't do

I haqve about 20 websites i manage, however i have one
website ftp user id and password it just won't save. every time i
open dreamweaver i have to re-enter user id and password. it drives
me crazy. i did re-install. remove pref file, nothing helps.
    Anybody knows any solution?
    thanks

    CS4.
However i did go around the problem with renaming the
problematic website (after deleting and re-adding with a different
name), it seems like keeping the settings now. It was weird.
Thanks for getting back to me though, i really appreciated.

  • Dreamweaver FTP LogIn Info

Where does Dreamweaver CS5 store FTP log in info for defined sites? I erased by hard drive and reinstalled my operating system, and worked with a senior Apple tech to restore my settings and programs from a Time Machine back up. Dreamweaver is there and working fine, but the site definitions are missing the log-in and passwords to connect via ftp. Where is that info stored? Is there a preferences file somewhere?

Jh100 as Mylenium suggested can you please post your question regarding features of Dreamweaver to the Dreamweaver forum?

  • Save my login info -- auto-login to Discussions

When I go to the Discussions, either from apple.com or via a saved link, it does not log me in. I have to click on the Login link. It remembers my ID, but I have to enter my password. Is there a way to get it to log me in automatically when I enter the Discussions site?
The reason I want this is, I'll be reading posts and then I want to reply to something -- and I realize I'm not logged in. I'm hoping there is a setting to enable "auto-login" or something.
    Thanks.

Yes, I've realized that as long as I have the browser open somewhere, my login is maintained. What happens is, I come to the forums intending to just browse, so I don't bother logging in. Then I want to respond to someone, and by the time I log in, I've forgotten what I wanted to say. Maybe that's a good feature... If I can't remember, then it probably wasn't that valuable anyway.

  • How do I reset a "don't save login info" to yes, save it?

Such a simple thing but it's a problem.
Once we set the Safari toggle at a website to NOT save the login info for that site, how do we later reverse that if we want to auto login?
I imagine it's editing a .plist, but does anyone know which one and where is it?
The MacBook Pro is running Safari 4.0.4 on Leopard 10.5.8.
    Appreciate any help

  • Any way to override site request to not save login info?

I am the ultimate arbitrator of yes no questions. I don not care if your site requests that my browser not save my login info. I want it saved. If I can not
I do one of two things,
Not got back to the site ( if that is not practicable)
Find a browser that cares about what the USER wants

    Yes, unfortunately it is removed.
It seems that 10.9.2 even causes additional problems because I can neither enter my bank account's password with 1Password anymore nor with Keychain. My password is 22 signs long and is now written on a piece of paper.
    Very nice improvement!

  • FTP Login Gone Everytime I Close DW

    Hi,
Every time I close and re-open Dreamweaver all my FTP login
info is gone. (user and password). This just started yesterday. I
have been using this product Dreamweaver CS3 for almost a year
    without problem.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

If you select the 'login' section under Keychains you'll see
a list of password entries with the name of 'Adobe Dreamweaver CS3
Site'. These are still named like this now even though I now use
CS4. These were all apparently corrupted and I had to delete them
    all.
I then went back to Dreamweaver CS4 and re-entered all my
passwords and logons (a pain I know) for my web sites and upon
quitting and restarting the app it held them. Whatever made them
corrupt in the beginning I don't know but everything's been fine
    since.
Hope this helps for Mac users.
Unfortunately this did not work for me, I'm using Dreamweaver
CS4 on OS X 10.5.6 (mac). I removed the CS3 keychains and then
started up DW CS4, re-inserted the login and password, made sure
"Save" login info was checked. Then after closing DW CS4 and
re-opening it the login and password were blank. This happens both
    at work and at home.
This little annoying bug (that has yet to be fixed by adobe)
    makes CS4 almost unusable.
