  • How can I save the .mp4 files downloaded from internet to ipad memory so that I don't have to download everytime to view them again

How can I save the .mp4 files downloaded from internet to ipad memory so that I don't have to download everytime to view them again. Also they might remove them from internet so I can't rely on the bookmark to them.

I'm trying to send home movies to my 10 year old nephew who lives across the country. He doesn't have a computer. He has an iPod touch. His parents have computers. But I don't want everything I ever try to have him do result in "you need your parent's computer for this." It's getting really embarrassing. I have converted my family over to Apple computers but now they want to buy iPhones, iPads, and iPods even though I tell them to go Android. It took a decade to convert them away from windows now I'm trying to keep them away from these freedom limited iOS devices and they won't listen. Then it becomes my responsibility to make their iPads print to their fancy pre-airprint color laser jet printers, get home movies onto them, and countless other things. It's driving me nuts.
I have converted these files to a format that the iOS devices will play directly off of dropbox. Now, how do I get the infernal devices to save it instead of play it?

  • I am trying to edit and save an MP4 video recorded on a Samsung Galaxy S4 to virtually ANY format for PC viewing and all of them transfer audio but no video.  What setting am I missing here please....?

Found part of the issue was program constantly reverting to PAL format, but even with altering that I still get only audio.  I know there must be broader settings control for U.S. format and video save but am unable to find them...

  • How do I save and mp4 that was sent to me in a text message?

My brother sent me a voice memmo of my nephew and I can not seem to figure out how to save it to my computer so I can turn it into a ringtone. HELP!

I'm not sure if you ever received an answer for this, but the best and easiest way is to forward the MMS with the voice message to an e-mail address that isn't associated with a Messages account (your work e-mail possibly?). Click edit at the top of the messages window, check the bubble to the left of the memo, click Forward at the bottom. In the new message, choose an e-mail address. If that e-mail address turns blue, that means it is going to go as an iMessage and you are still not going to have it outside of messaging.
The file will show up in the e-mail box as a .wav file. Hurray!

  • Save or export an opened .mp4 file without re-encoding

How can I save or export an .mp4 file that I opened and trimmed without being required to re-encode it. I'm looking for an option to either save the .mp4 file without exporting, or export with a passthrough option such as the one available when using QuickTime Pro. Thanks.

Hmm, I would have expected inclusion of the basic feature set of QuickTime Pro to be a prerequisite for any commercial audio editing program.
The reason commercial audio editing programs don't work the way Quicktime Pro does is Quicktime Pro really isn't an audio app. If Quicktime is able to cut an trip an mp4 file (m4a, aac, whatever you call it) it's becaue it's editing the stream directly, probably similar to the way a file-splitter would work. MP3 was able to have this one too, one could chop an mp3 up in to parts without re-encoding...however, due to the way data is represente in a lossy format, you have several limitations in doing so.
Commercial Audio applications don't do this because it's not going to be done by professionals...even if Audition had this feature, it wouldn't be able to work the same as cutting a wave file. You have servere limitations on where you can cut a lossy audio file up without having to re-encode it.
Cutting the bitstream of an mp3 or m4a file is generally not a standard inclusion for any audio program...
But, remember, Quicktime is a "basic" video editor...not an audio editor nor should it be confused for one.

  • How to put mp4 on Iphone to post to instagram

I have posted videos from my phone to instagram before and they always come up very poor quality. I have a short video (11 seconds) I made imovie on my macbook pro that I would like to post to instagram so it is high quality. I used HandBrake to convert the edited video from .mov to .mp4 at 640x640 to fit instagram (didn't know how to change file type in imovie). I tried several things and cannot seem to get the mp4 on my phone to post it to instagram. Here's what I've tried:
    1. email attachment - I have no option to save the video to camera roll
    2. Best Video (video downloader app) - I load the email attachment url in the app, download the video, save to camera roll, load into instagram and it's still blurry and poor quality
    3. Google Drive App - not given any option to save the mp4 to my camera roll
    4. Drop Box App - Can't find any option to save to camera roll
    5. Itunes - File>Add to Library>Select .mp4 from desktop> nothing happens...
So can someone please tell me how to get high quality videos from your laptop to your iphone so you can post them on instagram? Thanks.

Connect it via its lighting  to USB cord to your computer's USB hub. Open iTunes. You device should show up in the iTunes sidebar (View > Show Sidebar). Drag and drop songs onto your device. Subsequently eject.

  • File Extension Always Changes from .mp4 to .m4z in Media Encoder CS6 Master Collection

    Hello,
I am a noob to Adobe products, but I am familiar with video encoding and have been making movies on the computer for over a decade.  I have made several attempts to encode from .wmv to .mp4, but both Media Encoder as well as Premiere creates the output with the .m4v extension.  I am using the H.264 Main, with the MP4 Standard selected in the multiplexer.  I have watched several video tutorials from YouTube on how to make sure I format properly for YouTube in MP4, but I would prefer my file extension to be .mp4 and NOT .m4v.  The name is specified as "video.mp4" but it always comes out as "video.m4v".
I am using the full version (not a trial) of Adobe Creative Suite CS6 Master Collection, Student and Teacher Addition.
    Windows 7 64-bit
Before I give all my other pertinent details, or post screen shots (if that is possible), I thought there might be a simple solution.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks in advance

Ok, I found the temporary solution over at this forum posting:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4717820#4717820.
Over there, I posted this information:
I will have to try keeping the Export Audio box checked.  I am having the same .m4v problem when trying to save as mp4, and my videos have no audio (screen capture tutorials) so I chose not to export the audio.  I will see if keeping the box checked works.
I am using Windows 7 64-bit, CS6 Master Collection Student Teacher;  I just downloaded the full version (paid for) a couple of days ago, so apparently, this is still a bug.
I had posted this same type of question earlier today, now I found this forum.  I don't know if the problem was there before the update because I just bought my Adobe products the other day (November 10, 2012) and installed the updates prior to even opening any single one of the Adobe programs.  Oddly enough, Handbrake does a fine job, so I am using that until I figure out the problem with AME.
    UPDATE:
YES!  Keeping that Export Audio box checked resolved the problem.  What I did was (since there was no audio in the original) just take the audio settings down to the lowest possible quality so as to save on file size output.
    Thanks for the pointer!

  • Export/Save as m4a?

I have version 1.0 ----- is there no way to export or save a worked filed as an m4a for use in iTunes?
Right now I work the file, export as AIFF, open in QT and save as mp4.
    Thanks,
    jf

Thank you for your patience - obviously, I am a novice trying to learn this software and using an old version. I do appreciate your help.
I did as you outlined; I guess the fact is that to get pops and clicks off the track you have to open the audio file project first, then save the file and re-open it multi-track, or vice versa. Mainly, I am interested in deleting dead air off the front and back of the tracks and then getting the crackles out of my recorded files. But previously, the exported file was huge - 20-40MB instead of the typical 2-4MB files in iTunes. I think I'm good now.
    Thanks again!

  • Ios imovie export format: .mov vs. .mp4

Can anyone please tell me how to force short (under 2 minute) iOS iMovie files to save as mp4s into Camera Roll?
I am an art & music teacher whose students create short iMovies for several assignments. After they're done, they save their movies to the camera roll -- and then attach them to our assignment in Edmodo to submit for a grade. In this last assignment, suddenly some of the kids' files are saving as mp4 and some as mov -- and I can't open the .mov files on my school-issued iPad 2 or on my home MacBook. We have never run into this problem before and I can't sort out if it is a matter of file size or what. I experimented with uploading files into email -- and sometimes they save as mp4 and sometimes as mov. Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Why not?
iMovie doesn't 'hand-thru' the data; any export setting (what was your choice?) compresses the material - in your case by 50% ... did it visually do any harm? If not - no prob, hm?
And again: mov or mp4 are just wrappers, no 'format', esp. no codec - that is INSIDE the mov. Or mp4 ...

Both ways, you can customize the Export Settings under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab.
You do not have to settle for the default which the program offers.
Please let us know if the above targeted your question. If not, please supply more details.
By the way, what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 10 running on and what video card/graphics card is this computer using?
Looking forward to your follow up.

  • Safari 6 "Save As" help...

    I am getting so annoyed...
I know Safari 6 dropped that "Activiy Window" thing, but I never used that.  I don't care about bootleging a YouTube video, but I am very annoyed that I can "Save As" MP4??
Cnet offers a download link to their review videos, when you click it the video reloads in a new windows "castfire" or something.  In FireFox or Google Chrome I just go to File - Save As - Format Mp4 and BOOM!
However, in Safari I can only save as a Web Archive or a Page Source, how can I get more options and what are those two things anyway?
    Respectfully,
    JAC151

    Oh My Gosh!!!
How did you know how to do that!?!?!
Do you know how long I have spent googleing how to do that!!!
    Thank YOU!!!

  • Playstation 3 compressor settings for h.264/mp4 and avchd and 5.1 audio

Hello this is my first post on this forum. I am a cameraman by trade, but do a lot of editing. I am pretty good on an Avid and with color correction software, but since I sold my sony f900 and picked up a couple or RED cameras - I was forced to hop on the FCP studio2 wagon. So I apologize for the newbie questions.
I have a PS3 and not a PSP. I find more and more clients have a PS3 for their media and blu-ray... etc. So my question is what are the settings for compressor to encode for the PS3 and there ever so nit picky and poorly documented parameters.
There are plenty of non-pro answers, but I have searched high and low for what they need specifically. I see lots of questions but now answers.
So how can I take my final cut footage or any video file for that matter, and put it into something that my PS3 can chew? What are the H.264 (mpeg4) settings?
Can I also (but not exclusively) encode in AVCHD from compressor?
Lastly is there a way to put on the 5.1 or surround info into these files for PS3 playback? if I want to take one of my work DVD's (reel, projects, etc) and put it on the PS3 or bring in surround encoded (5.1, 6.1, 7.1) tracks into FCP and put it with my footage?
Thanks for any and all help...
the only vaguely technical info I have found was on the PS3 forum, here is what it says:
    from:
    http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=ps3media&mess age.id=22987&query.id=96226#M22987
For those of you who want to put .MP4 videos on a PS3 with a Macintosh, this is how you do it with ffmpegx.
    VIDEO
    - X264 Encoding
    - framesize can be any
    - framerate can be any
    AUDIO
    - any MP3 or AAC track
    OPTIONS
    - Use CABAC on
    - Constant bitrate on
    - Trellis on
    - Decode with Quicktime (not always necessary but if your picture is out of sync with audio, try this)
    - AVC level 3.0
This produces a good .MP4 file that the PS3 will happily play.
Can anyone help or point me in the right direction? if not can we figure it out on this thread? there are a lot of questions I find when I google this subject out there - so a lot of people would be happy to find the answer.

I have created files to play on PS3, and the secret is to use MPEG Streamclip. You can encode to whatever you want in MPEG2 or MPEG4, then open that bad boy in MPEG Streamclip:
If it's MPEG2, File > convert to TS
    If it's MPEG4: File > Save As MP4
That's it. MPEG Streamclip doesn't re-encode so no quality loss. All it does is change the container. And PS3 is very picky about containers.
As for 5.1 audio, you can do this by encoding separate MPEG2 video and AC3 audio files like you normally would for a DVD. For hi-def MPEG2, use one of the Compressor presets for HD-DVD. Make sure they both have the same name ("xxx.m2v" and "xxx.ac3", for instance) and are in the same folder. Then open the video in MPEG Streamclip and it will automatically mux the streams together, which can then be converted to TS.
Note that this is only possible encoding video to MPEG2. I don't know of any way to create an MP4 with 5.1 audio.
PS3 is a great way to deliver HD video onto your TV without the frustration of trying to author Blu-Ray or even burning discs.

  • Convert .mp4 to anything I can play on a PC

I have QT Pro. Can I save an .mp4 movie to a format that can be burned to a CD or DVD and played on a PC? I've tried a Save and a Save As, but I am not presented with a list of file formats. It's probably simple, but no luck so far.
If this is not possible with QT Pro, please suggest another path. Thanks.
    Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Why not install QuickTime on the Windows box? QuickTime runs every bit as well (perhaps sometimes better) under Windows as it does under MacOS...

  • AME - Converting to MP4 and different FPS - audio goes out of sync

    As described in the title.
    I'm reencoding a 1920x1080 29,97 fps video into a 1280x720 60 fps video. Audio is AAC 44100 stereo.
Basicly a task that many of those free converters on Windows do smoothly. I use Mac...
I'm surprised that it goes out of sync, like 3-4 secs EARLY sound on a span of 2 mins video.
    Settings here:
    AME CS6 Fully updated
    source: 1920x1080 29,97fps MP4 with AAC 44100hz audio
    Target:
    Codec: H264
    Saves as : MP4
    1280 x 720
    60 fps Progressive - NTSC
    CBR VBR1 VBR2 doesn't matter
    Max rendering quality
Codec Audio AAC 44100hz (as source)
    Any ideas ?

Because we stream at 60 fps and we have to convert all the materials we receive from our partners from the usual 29,97 to 60.
    Thanks for your MVPaluable help.
