Save my music, contact, apps, etc. from my iPhone
My ex took my computer and changed the password to the e-mail account. Now I can't access my music or sync my phone and save my information. Please help me save my music, contacts, apps, etc. from my iPhone. PLEASE!!!!!
Do you have the Sync Apps option ticked from under your iPod's Apps tab in iTunes?
Make sure your the installing of Apps is not enabled in Restrictions. Head to Settings -> General -> Restrictions and make sure either all restrictions are off or that at least Installing Apps is.

Im a ex windows vista user, who evently became fed up and converted to a macbook pro. i just purchesed the macbook pro yesterday and have been trying to transfer all my music, contacts, notes, apps, etc. from my iphone 4 onto my new macbook pro. nothing seem to be working without it trying to erase all my info off of my iphone 4. I didnt think this would be a issue where they are both apple devices, but im now starting to regret the decision to purchace this macbook pro. please help me so i dont loose all my info trying to sync both devices. thanks for you help and advice
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You can only sync the iPhone with one Mac or PC, so your Mac is asking you to erase the device because you synced it with another Mac or PC. To avoid this, I recommend you to copy the "iTunes" folder of your old Mac or PC (in Music folder) to the Music folder of your Mac, so you'll have the same data on your Mac as the data you had on the PC.
To transfer contacts, notes, etc., I recommend iCloud > http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ -

I have recently purchased a new iPhone, but my husband has the iTunes account on his email. We want to set up separate accounts however we want to share all of our music from iTunes. Is there a way to only share music only (not contacts, apps, etc)?
You are most welcome

how do i find which Apple ID is associated with music in my iTunes? When I sync with my iPad and iPhone it tells me I have music, apps etc from more than five IDs. I am asked for PW for a number of now extinct accounts.
Go to Settings/icloud. The Apple ID at the top of the screen is the only one you need to be concerned about. That one MUST be a working ID, and you must know the password for it, or you will be unable to use the phone if it ever crashes, you want to update it, or you want to sell it.

I have had my laptop stolen with my itunes account on it with all of my music/ films/ apps etc. Can I reverse back up my new laptop loaded with itunes installed from my ipad and iphone apple devices?

I want to delete a few contacts, apps, pics etc from my iphone, but when I delete and connect to my laptop they sync and come back again. How can I delete those items and not get them back when I connect my iphone to my laptop?
Also where exactly on the laptop is teh data stored.
Thank you!!go to 'Edit' in the menu bar. Then choose 'Preferences'.
you'll see a pop-up and there's a tab called 'Devices' there. If you click that, you will be able to check a box that says 'prevent automatic syncing for iPods, iPads and iPhones' or something like that.
Hope this helps
NB: if you don't even see the menu bar that has options like 'File, Edit, View, etc', first click the black/white square button on the top left of your screen, and then click 'show menu bar'. It should pop right up.
Good luck -
What is the best way to transfer apps, contacts, et cetera from one iPhone (3G) and computer (2006 MacBook) to a new iPhone (4S) and computer (early 2011 MacBook Pro)? I have already moved music, among other things using Migration Assistant but I cannot locate contacts or Apps.
transfer just SOME of the applications
it's all or none, i'm afraid. -
How to download all data (music.contacts, apps) from iPhone to a new PC ?
I mean to say that I downloaded mp3 songs from websites (not from iTunes) which I synced in my iPhone 4 using ''Manaually Manage Music''.
Now I am in my homecountry for vacations and don't have the laptop in which my iTune library is synced and I need to add more songs to my iPhone but when I put more songs to my iPhone it tells me that all current data from iPhone will be deleted.
Please help! The iphone is not a backup device. The music sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases.
" I need to add more songs to my iPhone but when I put more songs to my iPhone it tells me that all current data from iPhone will be deleted."
That is correct. -
hi everyone, first time using this forum!
I have an old iphone 3 and for Xmas received an iphone 5. I have 2 apple ID accounts, one on each phone. For me to be able to transfer messages, fotos, contacts etc from the iphone 3 to 5 do I have to be using the same Apple ID account? Many thanks. You should only use one Apple ID for both phones. All apps that you bought for your 3 are linked forever to the Apple ID used to buy them. If you set up your iPhone 5 as a new phone, rather than restoring from a backup of the 3, you will lose the messages, but you can sync to get the pix, contacts and music. It is safer to do it as a new phone, because sometimes restoring a backup from an earlier version of the phone can cause problems in the new phone (as told to me by an Apple store "genius" two days ago.)

My husband just got an iPad and we are wondering if he can sync the iPad to my lap top since I already have my iPhone synced to the laptop. We do not want to intermix the contacts, photos, etc from his iPad onto my iPhone or my iPhone info onto his iPad.
You should be able to sync both to the same iTunes - I sync my iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch to the same computer. With the iPad connected and selected on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, you can use the tabs on the right-hand side to select which of your iTunes content to sync to it, so you can control which apps, photos, music etc are synced to it, and (via the Info tab) from which email account your contacts are synced from. Your computer's iTunes should remember your syncing preferences for each device.

How do I back up the music and apps etc. I restored my computer and I reinstalled iTunes, I was told something about a terminal command line, what does that mean? Please help
- Transfer iTunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
- Transfer any other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
Copy music
- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup. The restore will also update the iOS.
Note that the backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps and music
Are you sure you have a 3G iPod? A 1G iPod can only go to iOS 3.1.3

Can I still save all my apps, etc in my iphone if I am changing my computer thus downloading and installing new itunes?
While this might not be the best method, I have found it best served what I needed when transferring my iphone 4 contacts to my new iphone 5s:
http://goo.gl/AYrQNN
First, I don't have a Gmail account, and even if I had, I would not wish to mix my email addresses with my iphone address book by syncing Gmail with my iphone address book. As a result, I used the above method in order to manually export my iphone contacts to my computer and in turn import them to my new iphone. -
Can multiple iPhones share one iTunes without syncing the phones together? We just got new iPhones and set up seperate apple id's, but don't know if we can both sync to our existing iTunes without linking our phones together (contacts, apps, etc) ????
