Save no longer works in dreamweaver CS6

After making minor changes to pages, Save no longer gets ghosted. If I go to web Browser saves becomes ghosted or if I go to Save All, Save also gets ghosted. Anyway to simply get this to work again?  Tried closing program and even reboot but no differance. Worked fine for last six months.

If you can't save files, it speaks to bigger problems like incorrect permissions on hard drive or a corrupt user account on your OS.  As a test, try creating a new, admin level user account in Windows to see if the problem persists.
Other things to try:
When DW starts acting weird, the first thing to try is Deleting Corrupted Cache in DW
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/494811
If that doesn't help, try Restore Preferences

If all else fails, use the CC Cleaner Tools below followed by a software re-install.

  • Save Shortcut not working in Dreamweaver CS6 (cloud)

    Hi,
I'm working on a mac, 10.7.5, using the cloud service for dreamweaver. (I use this at work, and at home on another subscription) The past few days I've not been able to save a file in dreamweaver using the shortcut (command S) or but going through the file menu. The only way I can save is when I am uploading to the server, and it asks you. Or when I close a file, and it asks you.
I've restarted and tried everything I can think of.
Is this a bug? Has anyone else had this problem? This is really annoying, and I can't seem to find any info on it.

    Hey SAAPB,
I was able to solve my issue by restoring my DW preferences. I contacted Abode Support and they had me follow the steps on this article, and it worked for me. It was a matter of renaming 2 files, and restarting DW. (I think what John sugguested was right, but the article link was outdated)

    Hope it helps you!

  • Screen saver no longer working after Lion upgrade.

    Hi,
After standard upgrade about 2 weeks ago (mid July 2012) the screen saver no longer works. I mean I can certainly access the application and the desktop can be made to cycle through different photos etc. But when I configure the screen saver it just refuses to go into screen saver mode at all.
I'm not seeing too much occurance of this through the postings which is a bit worrisome as I'd thought this would be a much wider issue.
    Cheers,
    Herbie

    Thanks Ken,
I appreciate you looking at this.
Basically im trying to create it on percentage width and centred within the container, if that makes any sense.

  • Code works with Dreamweaver CS6 and not with CC

    <p><a href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="window.open('http://www.anything.comt', '', 'top=20,left=20,toolbar=0,statusbar=1,scrollbars=1,resizable=1')" title="title">name</a></p> works with Dreamweaver CS6 and not with CC
[Edited Title and moved to Dreamweaver- JTS]

I'm not quite sure I understand your point.
I have just tested the Open Browser Window behavior in Dreamweaver CC. It creates slightly different code from Dreamweaver CS6, but it works correctly. This is what is created in the HTML:
    <p>my <a href="#" onClick="MM_openBrWindow('http://www.adobe.com/','mywindow','toolbar=yes,location=yes,status=yes,menubar=yes,scrollb ars=yes,resizable=yes')">link</a>
    </p>
Dreamweaver CC also adds the following code to the <head> of the page:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function MM_openBrWindow(theURL,winName,features) { //v2.0
      window.open(theURL,winName,features);
    </script>
The definition of the MM_openBrWindow() function is needed in the <head> for the code to work. But it definitely works OK.
With regard to _self and _blank not working, I can't find any problem with the way Dreamweaver CC handles them.
However, if you feel happier working with Dreamweaver CS6, you can download it from the following page:
    https://creative.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver
Open the drop-down menu under "In this version", and select Dreamweaver CS6 as shown in the following screenshot:
With Dreamweaver CS6 selected, click the large Download button at the top-right of the page. You can then download CS6, and install it alongside Dreamweaver CC.

Command S not working in Dreamweaver CS6

Every time I've run into an issue like this, clearing the cache file has repaired it...

As long as it's not a system wide issue that is.

  • Business Catalyst feature currently not working in Dreamweaver CS6

Anyone else experiencing this? I can login to BC, but my module icons won't show and I can't jump to admin either. Is there a prferences setting I accidentally switched off? Is the system down?

The Business Catalyst integration with Dreamweaver is just bug ridden. Since I first reported this bug 7 MONTHS AGO!!! (Thanks for getting on the problem Adobe) Anyway, since I first reported the problem I have purchased a brand new PC (this month) with a fresh install of CS6... I intentionally did not upgrade Dreamweaver CS6 because as soon as you do you lose all Business Catalyst function. Everything was fine until this morning when I logged on to work, launched Dreamweaver and again... I CAN'T LOG INTO BUSINESS CATALYST THROUGH DREAMWEAVER! Worked fine yesterday but today not so much... so here we go again -  unistall Dreamweaver re-install and hope it works. Not the most efficient system but when Adode doesn't respond to bug fixes for over half a year... there isn't much you can do. I'm a paid partner too... what a disgrace.

  • Print profiles no longer working correctly with CS6 64bit to my Epson R2880

Hi, until recently, my print profiles were working correctly  with CS6 64bit (Win 7 ultimate 64) to my Epson R2880, they now print washed out/desaturated  but the same profiles still print correctly using Lightroom 4. has there  been an update that could have affected things or are there any other  suggestion? Thanks, Dave.

    Hi,
    I hope someone can help!
I recently bought my first Mac, a great MacBook Pro which I love!
I use Lightroom3 and Photoshop CS5 to edit photos and now want to print from my Epson R1800.
I found that the prints initially came off very dark & contrasty, so I calibrated both the MBP screen and my Samsung SuncMaster 245B monitor with my Spyder2 and the Colorvision software.
Even after establishing colour profiles for both screens, the printed image was still far darker and "heavier" than that shown on screen. This was the same whether printing from LR3 or from the Mac Preview app (it was worth trying I thought!).
So searching for help on the web I came across this thread and now wonder whether I should uninstall my driver (6.57) and reinstall the printer with 6.23.
Stephen did you find that this worked - did PS CS5 behave after that?
Of course I'm trying to print some work soon and in desperation could adjust every (edited) image by brightening & reducing contrast, however with dozens to print it seems crazy to do that, not to mention wrong!
    Thanks for any help!

  • CC subscription just reverted to trial and no longer works (Flash CC / CS6)

After six months of using Flash CS6 (Creative Cloud), last weekend I decided to try the Premiere CC Trial.
That worked great and at the same time my Flash just switched to trial and became unusable (trial has expired already)
I've tried everything suggested by Adobe Technical team so far and more which involves the usual unistalling everything and reinstalling, logging out and in, cleaner tool, etc.
    Still nothing will fix it.
I think I noticed an update to the Creative Cloud app at about the same time - I'm wondering if it is this causing the issue....
BTW, inside the Creative Cloud app, my account shows my valid subscription to both Flash CC and Flash CS6... and several other items show 'Install' rather than 'Try'
    Please help!
(I posted this in another discussion as reply to a similar issue but the topic is flagged as answered so I'm guessing starting a new discussion is the right thing to do..)

    Hi Ankit,
I am so frustrated by this - I have already lost days of my time trying to fix this. Not to mention the thrill of paying for software I can't use.
I have literally uninstalled and reinstalled everything I can think of a dozen times or more.. seen the post you mention already.
I have never changed languages... seen all the other stuff on the other thread too.
But guess what.. that is all pretty irrelevant because I was assuming that this was something to do with my particular machine.. but it isn't.
The proof? I went to my Mac which can also run the CC software and has been doing so just fine.. till.. you guessed it.. today..
Just tried that and the same thing has happened.. all reverted to trial.
So it is at your end... on your servers.. it has to be, right?
And all this nonsense you are dishing out here is just a massive waste of time. Well I'll need to fume in the corner for a bit longer I'm afraid.....
So.. trying to get calm and rational again...
The only thing I have changed on my account online is my id and password because I have literally tried everything I could think of... even that.
So my adobe id has changed.
I am signing into CC with the correct id and password.
Unless you are going to tell me that that has broken my Mac versions then please do let me know what on earth is supposed to be going on here...
    Thanks
    M.

  • System crash; data recovered; screen saver no longer works 10.3.9

My iMac crashed last Fri and finally today the dealer received the hard drive and recovered my data.
So far all is working EXCEPT my screensaver which used to work beautifully with OS X 10.3.5.
I DID update things including a OS X Update Combined" (10.3.9):
Installed "Apple Remote Desktop Client" (1.2.4)
    Installed "iSync" (1.5)
    Installed "iPhoto Update" (2.0.1)
    Installed "Java 1.4.2 Update 2" (1.4.2 Update 2)
    Installed "Security Update 2004-09-16" (1.0)
    Installed "iCal" (1.5.5)
    Installed "iPod Updater 2006-01-10" ((null))
    Installed "iTunes" (6.0.4)
Installed "Mac OS X Update Combined" (10.3.9)
    Installed "Security Update 2004-10-27" (1.0)
    Installed "Security Update 2005-002" (2.0.0)
    Installed "Security Update 2005-004" (1.0)
Installed "Java Update for Mac OS X v10.3.9" (1.0)
    Installed "Java Security Update" (4.0)
    Installed "Safari Update" (1.3.1)
    Installed "iTunes Phone Driver" (1.1)
    Installed "QuickTime" (7.0.4)
    Installed "Safari Update" (1.3.2)
Installed "Security Update 2006-002 (PowerPC)" (1.0)
    The problem is twofold:
    1 - sys pref > desktop & screen saver > desktop
this option still allows me to select my picture folder, but no longer scrolls through the subfolders of pictures
    2 - sys pref > desktop & screen saver > screen saver
while I CAN select my picture folder, i get a "looking for slides" message and finally after about maybe 20 seconds the first picture in the folders appears but when the screen saver is activated, I only get a black screen
    Any advice is appreciated.
    Thank you -
    Pat

I just noticed that the Shell screensaver has the same issue of taxing my CPU to nearly 200%. Very frustrating!!!

  • CS4 no longer works after installing CS6 manager update

Is Adobe targeting older versions of the software with the new manager?
Some of my plug-ins only work in the older versions of the software and I use a triple boot system with separate drives for Windows XP, Vista and W8. They each have CS3, CS4 and CS6 (I missed out on W7 and CS5).
After I updated CS6 to the latest version of the download manager CS4 no longer runs. I discovered today that it will if I am online. I am running a legal copy of the CS4 Master collection and has been running with no problem for years. I have a back up of the drive and used it to replace the whole drive in case there was an error somewhere, something I have had to do every six moths or so. That did not solve the problem. The licence allowed two copies and I do have it on a second machine at home and that still works. That machine does not have the recent CS6 update yet.
The original licence agreement for CS4 didn't require you to be online. My broadband connection is intermittent because I live in a rather remote place. It has been down for a few days and I could not work even in CS4.

  • Search no longer works in Bridge CS6, after upgrading computer.

I recently upgraded computers and reinstalled CS6. I can no longer search my files based on keywords or file name. What has happened? When I click on a file, the keywords are check, searching produces no results, just "no items to diplay". I even tried re-assigning some keywords, but still no results after search.
    Any help?

Just my opinon: I find Bridge a little too daunting for my simple mind. I used to use iView, which I found very simple and easy to use. I may see if it's still around.
I'm not the one to judge your own qualification...:-)
However you are comparing two different things to my opinion and memory. iView was indeed a wonderful DAM application but had qualities Bridge does not have and vice versa. iView had its limitation as did Extensis Portfolio for me. I'm on a Mac and a few years ago I discovered that Canto Cumulus had a new Single user version. At the times of MacOS up to version 9 I used Canto to great satisfaction but they did not provide support for OSX 10 until recently.
While Bridge is not very reliable for use as a Digital Asset Management (to my opinion) Canto Cumulus is. But Canto is by far not as good at all the other tasks Bridge can do so I use Bridge up on to the moment the files are finished and ready for archive and I use Canto only for archiving purposes.
iView Media Pro has quit a history since. The developers had done a good tasks and decided to sell their baby. Unfortunately they did choose Microsoft as buyer. As often Microsoft did promise a lot and delivered nothing. The application (then renamed to Microsoft Expression Media) was killed softly. But Phase One regained the rights and called it: Phase One Media Pro.
Since I'm am a happy Canto user again I did not try this version but you can get a trial here:

  • Apple TV 2.0 - Old screen saver no longer works-scrolling multiple pictures

Does anybody know if it is possible to activate the old screen saver. The old that creates a nice scrolling mosaic. Or is it gone forever, really like that one. Several people told it is still there but it doesn't work for me, after 2 minutes the traditional screen saver appears where there is one picture for the entire display.
I'm referring to the old one that has multiple pictures of varying sizes scrolling on the screen at differing speeds.
    Thanks.
    Lloyd

I must be missing something. If I go to settings/screen saver/photos I have one directory that is selected. When the screen saver starts it shows one picture at a time from that directory and then the next picture, but the screen saver with multiple pictures scrolling at the same time doesn't work for me, just the screen saver I described. Am I missing something?

  • FB4 Compile on save no longer works ? Need to force compilation via a run Why ?

The only way I can get FB4 to compile and display error messages is to run it and select cancel run from the "Problems have been found" prompt. In FB3 a compile would run at save. Is there a new setting to chnage this ?

    Hi,
Have you tried creating a new workspace to see if it works in that.
