Save on usb key with a cvs
Hello
I'm using a cvs to acquire images with a camera, and after process this images with Vision Builder Automated Inspection, I want to record that on a USB stick.
For that I tried to use the function "Image Logging", but when I try to find the destination folder I don't find my key.
I also tried tu use "read/write I/O', but I have the following message

9926 do not read AutoUnattend.xml from USB Key
I had used a USB Key with an Autounattend.xml answer file from Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 until Windows 10 version 9979 without no problem.
9926 do not read at all AutoUnattend.XML.
I am interestind to know if somobody else had tried to deploy 9926 with an AutoUnattend.xml file ?Thank you for your answer.

How to create a Clonezilla USB key?
Hello,
I've created in the past a clonezilla USB key for taking block level backup of my mac-mini and it works just fine to this day.
But today I tried to use the same USB key with my new MacBook Pro (it run Lion) and the USB doesn't appear
even as an option to boot from when I press the option/alt key.
Has anyone managed to successfully create and boot from a USB key of Clonezilla?
What are the steps you used? and which iso image did you use of clonezilla with your macbook pro + lion?
I would suspect it's an EFI problem because I don't even see the USB as a viable bootable device. The USB key was
repartitioned as a GPT 1-partition HFS+ disk, and then I followed that by the hdiutil command to convert the
.iso image of the clonezilla cd to a .dmg file, and then used the dd command to copy it to the USB key.
tried two different .iso images... nothing worked for me with this mac book pro....
Any ideas?

A.Well, using the standard, Apple-supplied Recovery Disk Assistant ( http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1433 ), I had no issue in creating a minimal bootable USB stick containing the Recovery Mode partition. Then, after downloading the Lion installer, was able to create a full local bootable Lion installer by extracting the InstallESD.dmg image from the app and using Disk Utility to Restore its contents onto another USB stick.
Edit: same applies to both Lions. -
Mac in the shop -- how to access encrypted FS image on USB key?
My Mac is in the repair shop (it's a G4 PowerBook, circa Titanium). In the meantime, I've got a USB key with a UFS file system created by 10.3.9, on which resides an AES-128-encrypted disk image (.dmg file).
I can mount the USB key's UFS file system from Linux, using 'mount -t ufs -o ro,ufstype=openstep /dev/sdb3 /mnt/<whatever>', so I can see the encrypted disk image (as well as my non-encrypted files). I believe I know the password for the encrypted disk image. But what file system type is it? Is it also ufs/openstep?
The basic question is, when creating an AES-128 encrypted disk image using Disk Utility, what is the file system type underneath the encryption?
Thanks!Hm. Well, when I use Disk Utility on 10.3.9 to create an encrypted disk image, it doesn't give me any choice as to the file system format. It allows me to choose what directory to create it in, how big it should be, and whether or not to use AES128 encryption -- that's it. Maybe there are more choices on Tiger/Leopard.
So, what file system type will Disk Utility on 10.3.9 create? -
Installing Arch on a USB Key Partition
I'm new to Arch Linux, and installed it on a partition on my USB Key to try it out (it's cool!.... so far). One problem though. It's an 8GB drive with two partitions. I installed Arch on the first partition (2.5GB) and the rest is for storage. This is fine on computers that run Linux, but Windows only recognizes the first partition and does not see the storage partition.
Is there a way I could copy my entire Arch filesystem so I could reformat my USB Key with the partitions in the correct order? I was looking into Partimage and CloneZilla. Radium 49 keys with leopard and MBP??
Having trouble using my Radium 49 USB keys with my MBP (newest version) on Leopard 10.5.6
Anyone else got these working?
I have downlaoded the latest M-audio leopard driver but still no joy however, the USB powers the Radium as it all lights up..
However I also have a new Mac Pro running Leopard and the Radium just plugged striaght into this and worked?! no problem!!
What am I doing wrong? and anyone else got their Leopard MBP working with a Radium 49?I'm thinking the MBP USB port doesn't have enough power to fully activate the keyboard.
How many USB ports does the MBP have, on the new ones there's a low power and a high power port, you might try the other USB port.
Other than that, did the Radium-49 come with a power adapter? Try it with that if it works you will know it's the USB port.

Here's my issue:
iMac 24" (~2009)
Montain lion
When I try to boot on a usb key (Lion or Win7) on my imac the key isn't recognize. So I test the exact same key on my MBP 17" and I can easily boot on it. My usb ports are good, I can read the same usb key with my system, I have an issue only on boot.
I don't know if there's a link but my superdrive is broken and I can't eject the dvd in it (not a bootable one), I don't know if it can affect the boot.
Please let me know if you have any ideas !

FaunOS: New USB Key Distro Based on Arch

With over 500 packages, FaunOS fits on a 1G USB key with an additional 100Megs for user storage.

Thanks. Unfortunately the image you have downloaded is the older one which had the multiple partitions that was causing the boot error. If you download the latest one, faunos01d.img (http://www.faunos.com/download.php?f=faunos01d.img), the problem should be fixed.

so...what i want to do,is,save all my bookmark or link,on a usb key,cause i have too much,but i need it to be all individual...not like the json export format,because like that,it's kind of like 1 file zipped all the link together...i need to be able to when a connect my usb key,i click the link and it load in firefox...as exemple...in my bookmarks folder...i have about an hundred and more files,and in each of them a hundred or so of links...so is there a way to do that,maybe with another program...i want to erase the one i have in my firefox to put them all on the usb key...thx in advance,waiting for your answers...and i have window 7
hi...and thx for yours time and answers...i tried what you guys said,and it does not work for me....it work but not all of them...saying some error happens....i really have to much...i tried to do folder by folder,but that does not work either,,,it zipped the total of the link instead of the folder selected....i saw that i can transfer them one by one into a new folder on my disk...but one by one gonna be a hella long thing to do....but work...i tried the keyboard shortcuts...i can select all of them but not copy them into the new folder on my disk....any idea following that....i really just want to put them all on my usb key...and not use the firefox application to store then on firefox web...thx in advance

Back to my iMAC there is 3 USB port. The second one - in the middle - does not work pluging an external Disk, an USB key or an iPOD nano. However it works well connecting a Wacom tablet.
Is there an explanation to this behaviour ?
More the keyboard is plugded on USB port 1 and the mouse on the keyboard. Time to time - especially at reboot - I have to unplugged the mouse and plugged again it in order it works.

RegardsSince it does not work for three different devices, I will assume it is not something simple like a faulty USB cable. Since it does work for one device, I will also assume that the port is (at least partially) working.
As a test to narrow down the cause, I would try restarting from your Mac OS X installation disc (insert disc and restart with the C key held down).
At the first Installer screen (after language selection), go up the menu bar. Under Utilities, select to run Disk Utility. Now, connect the USB drive into that center port. Does it appear in the Disk Utility sidebar?

hi i have a macbook pro 2011 model, i decided to upgrade my hardrive and bought a 500gb blank hardrive, my query is because i wasnt able to save most of my files and my operating system to an external hard drive, i have a usb stick with a mavericks os installed on it. will i be able to do a straight install by just doing this method? i will be grateful for any tips or help u might offer, thanks.
Is it just bootable or does it have the Mavericks installation files on it? If so, yes. If not, no. You might consider getting an external enclosure. Put your old drive in it and boot to its Recovery partition. You can install from there. As a matter of fact, you can run Migration Assistant and get all your stuff over too.

Solution to install Windows 7 on Macbook Air MID-2013 after 3 weeks of test, make with ISO image a usb key 2.0, It works!
1. Select Partition4: Bootcamp. You should see advanced Options.
2. Click Format and convert the partition to NTFS.
3. Click Next.

Hi, I have a link 5 wireless mouse and a old hp's wireless elite keyboard. I don't know if they both use bluetooth or one is bluetootha and the other 2.4GHz or not. But can a link 5 usb key paired with a hp's version 1 wireless keyboard? If not, how can I get a wireless usb key for my hp wireless eilte keyboard?

It is only mention v2 not v1, so not sure if it will work. You should not be able to buy a key, because each device is sold with their specific usb receiver, so the answer is, you cannot get one, except if you buy a new part.

Problem with USB key installation
I use dd command to write the iso image to an USB key (8G). Then I use partition tool to increase the Linux partition to 7G from 34M.
But during the installation of xfce4, the OS reports no enough space left. How to solve this issue?
Also parman reports erros during the installation of archiso.
Thanks,If you burn an iso to a usb with dd, that will not be a persistent system. You cannot actually change the size of if nor install anything new (at least nothing that would survive a reboot).
If you want to install a persistent system on a usb, there is a wiki page for that - and it is pretty simple. I've done it many times. But you need to follow the installation instructions, not the live-media creation instructions.
You'll mount and partition the usb, use pacstrap, configure files, and install a bootloader on the usb.
EDIT: if, however, you don't need a modifiable system, but rather you just want to create a customized live-usb, there are tools for this as well - I haven't used them and I get a couple names confused: archboot and archiso. At least one of those would be the tool for this.
