"Save PDF to folder as JPEG.workflow"

...is now missing from my library/PDF services folder.
I use Aperture to design my books, which I have printed by Asuka and other vendors. I set up workflows to export the books at the appropriate DPI (271 for Asuka, 300 for the flush mount albums I do).
When the the JPEG's weren't showing up in the folder I tried to save to I checked my Library/PDF services folder to find the "Save PDF to folder as JPEG.workflow" missing.
Should I re-install Aperture from the disk? If I do so how will it affect my library?
Thanks

Installing Aperture again will not affect your library, so there is no risk doing that.

  • Save PDF to folder as JPEG - NOT WORKING!

Please help me, after many failed attempts to save my aperture book design as PDF to folder as JPEG, I decided to try to save PDF to folder as TIFF. Unbelievably it worked without error. This proved to me that I am doing everything right, there must be a problem with the save as JPEG option. I am trying to save this way so that I can take my design to a different album vendor other than apple. The closest I came to having the JPEG option work was it saved only a small handful of the page files, not all of them. ANY advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

I just tried the Save PDF to folder as JPEG and everything worked correctly. This workflow is actually an Apple Automator action, so you could go to Root/Library/PDF Services and open the workflow in Automator and look to see if somehow the action is messed up.
    Maybe worth the try.

  • Aperture 3 save PDF to folder as JPEG option missing from PDF services?

I have Aperture 3 downloaded from the App store in a MAC OSX 10.6.7 but the save PDF to folder as jPEG option is missing from the print menu? I do not have discs to re-install Aperture so can I add a workflow directly to the PDF services library and if so where can I get a copy of this workflow?

Hi frank, thanks for the advice, I am very new to Apple and Aperture. I think I am looking at the second print menu, I am basically trying to add text to a phot and have followed this online guide
    http://photo.rwboyer.com/2010/02/07/aperture-book-tool-screen-cast-take-two/
I can do everything except the last part which is save PDF to folder as JPEG. My version of aperture does not give me this option and I only have access to the following:
    Open PDF in preview
    Save as PDF
    Save as Post Script
    Mail PDF
    Save as PDF-X
    Save PDF to iPhoto
Save PDF to web receipts folder
    Pictures
    Edit Menu
There is no option to Save PDF to folder as JPEG and I cannot add this function from the Edit menu? Previous discussions suggest re-installing Aperture 3 but I downloaded this from the App store so do not have discs to reinstall?
    Thanks
    Mike

  • Save pdf to folder in JPEG / save aperture book to JPEG

    Hello guys,
basically I want to save my created photo book in Aperture in the best possible quality.
I have read the FAQ on apertureexpert.com about "save pdf to folder in JPEG" and have also downloaded the script that was posted their but it did not work as expected.
    http://www.apertureexpert.com/forum-user/post/1306850
The problem is that I can't really change any settings about the script (like change dpi to 300 like in the video below). Opening it in Automator does not bring the hoped features.
Basically I want to do exactly what is done in this video:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJ7ywI5N9o8
I might want to export the photos in TIFF too one day!
I am desperately trying to export my photo book in the best possible quality! I have spend the whole day trying to solve this problem without finding anything on google!
Would there be any possibilities to just download the complete "Save pdf to folder in TIFF" and "Save pdf to folder in JPEG" script somewhere? That would would be the optimal solution, a download link or simply an upload from someone how as the scripts that originally ware pre-installed on a mac. You can check if you have these under "Macintosh HD/Library/Pdf Services".
Thanks a lot for your help! I would really appreciate it!
    Best,
    Gordon

It actually goes thru the motions and appears to be working, but ultimately the pages are not actually created or saved anywhere. I have tried over and over, numerous things, but in the end there are no actual pages created... its weird. I specify exactly where to save the pages, and when its done, there is nothing there....
Also, when I run the Play button on the "Save PDF to folder as JPEG" in automator, it encounters an error at the "Move Finder Items", the step where it would actually place or save the JPEGs to that location.... I can not seem to figure out what went wrong, as it did work before and I don't know what I could have done to cause an error...

  • Save PDF to folder as JPEG Error

This is happening in Aperture, and other programs too.
When I try to use "Save PDF to folder as JPEG", the export begins, but when it comes to the pop up box that copies the files onto the desktop an error message indicates there has been a problem with ""the action "retrieve disk element references" encountered an error."
The script "Save PDF to folder as TIFF" works great... but that isn't suitable for albums.
Any thoughts??? I found others that had the problem, but no solutions...

I am also having this issue but with TIFF's.

  • Save PDF to Folder as Jpeg/300 dpi

Question about exporting custom book design into Jpegs/300 dpi. I do it, it seems to be working and then once it stops I can't find the file with the jpegs of the book design. Not sure if it's saving and if it is where it's saving to? I went into automator (which I know nothing about) and when I run the 'save PDF to folder as jpeg" action, I get an error message. Help! Thanks in advance!

Installing Aperture again will not affect your library, so there is no risk doing that.

  • Problem with iPhoto save pdf to folder as jpeg

    Hello,
I made a card in iphoto '11 and when i want to transfer it to folder as jpeg it shows that cannot find Store Disk Item References. I think i need a workflow like "save pdf to jpeg" but i don't know where can i find this.
    I use mountain lion.
    Thanks
    John

Here's one way to convert get each page of the card to a 200 dpi or 300 dpi jpeg file.
First go to the card mode, right click on a page and select Save as PDF from the contextual menu.  Once you have a pdf file of
1 - open the pdf file in Preview.
2 - type Command+P to start the print process.
3  - click on the PDF button and select "Save PDF to iPhoto".
Note:  If you don't have any of those options go to Toad's Cellar and download these two files:
Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
Unzip the files and place in the HD/Library/PDF Services folder and reboot.
4 - select either of the files above (300 dip is used for photos to be included in a card, book, etc. that will be ordered).
5 - in the window that comes up enter an album name or select an existing album and hit the Continue button.
That will create a 200 or 300 dpi jpeg file of the item being printed and import it into iPhoto.
Now you can export the jpeg files out of iPhoto via File ➙ Export ➙ File Export  with Kind = Original to get the high resolution files that you want.

  • Save PDF to folder as JPG not working....

I can't figure out why all of a sudden Aperture book pages exported as JPG's aren't showing up anywhere. I did change the dpi setting to 300 and have successfully exported other books recently, but today I finished a book layout and wanted to export the pages as JPGs and they won't show up anywhere.
Also, when I press "Run" in the Save PDF to folder as JPEG I do get an error at the "Move Finder Items" step, where it allows you to denote where the pages should be saved.
I have tried deleting that step and reinserting the same one, but I get the same error over and over and can't figure out how to fix it.
When I run the Print Book and Save PDF to folder as JPEG in Aperture, it will run thru the whole process but ultimately not save the pages anywhere, they just don't show up...
Any idea what is happening and why?
    I am running Aperture 2.1.2...

  • Save pdf to folder as JPG fails

I have completed the update process so I am running Yosemite and Aperture 3.6
When I try to use the automator work flow that was installed with Aperture (Save pdf to folde as JPG) , I get an error message that "Retrieve Disk Item References encountered an error"
The workflow will work from another user account and the similar workflow for saving PDF to folder as TIFF works just fine.  I have tried reinstalling the workflow from a backup but it still fails.  Any idea how to get this working back to normal?

I got it fixed with 2 rounds of cache cleaning and pref file removal.  My computer thinks it is 4 in the afternoon and all the menus are in Swedish, but its all good!

    Hi pissedadobeuser,
Does this issue occur with any particular web page?
Are you able to print the webpage to 'Adobe PDF' to convert it to pdf.
Which Browser version, OS version and Acrobat version are you using?

  • How to set up Adobe Printer to save .pdf in folder

    Good morning.
I am looking for guidance on how one can set up a virtual "adobe" printer that saves a print job as a .pdf in a specific shared folder.
    Example:
    1. External application creates a print job
    2. Print job goes to a pre-named, virtual printer.
    3. The virtual printer accepts the print job
    4. The print job is turned into a .pdf document and the document is saved in a shared folder.
Additionally, can the naming convention of the saved folders be "dynamic"?  In this scenario, a print job named "ABC123" is saved as "ABC123.PDF" and another print job named "XXX900" is saved as "XXX900.pdf", etc.
    Appreciate the help.
    medina

    Yes.
Ideally it would be installed on the application server where the job is generated and sent to the specified printer (internal settings). Then when the job hits the printer it drops a .pdf in a shared folder.
    Appreciate the help.

  • Save PDF as low resolution jpeg Acrobat Prof. 8

What settings should I use to save an A0 pdf map (3.25mb) as a low resolution jpeg that can be viewed online at full size without being good enough to save and not buy the map? Or is it just too impractible.

If I understand correctly, you want to make JPEGs to put on your web site to help people preview a purchase.
Use Photoshop, not Acrobat. (The DRM reply would apply if you wanted to put up a PDF but limit what could be done with it).
I suggest a very low res picture of the whole thing, which won't show any text or detail but will suggest the scope of the map, and a full resolution detail view of a small interesting section.

  • Exporting album pages to folder as JPEG...not working

I am a professional photographer and use aperture to deign my books.  Since I have upgraded aperture I am now unable to export my album pages to a folder as a jpeg.  I can only export them as PDF's through the mail program which greatly decreases the image quality.  Below is the error message that I get.
I keep doing aperture updates thinking they will fix the problem, but they don't fix it.
    Can anybody help me?

How do you do the export "album pages to a folder as a jpeg"?
For me it works fine, when I use "Print > Print to pdf > Save PDF to folder as jpeg": Aperture 3.3.1, MacOS X 10.7.4
Where is it different for you?

  • Adobe acrobat standard save pdf to jpeg is it possibel?

I have a question about adobe acrobat standard.
can you save pdf to jpeg? or is it just the Pro version that it works on?

Try these steps to see if things are working at all. If they work, then it is a process of going one step at a time until the problem is isolated.
    1. Print a simple file to the Adobe PDF printer with print-to-file selected.
    2. Open the file created in (1) in Distiller and see if the conversion completes.
If (2) is unsuccessful, you will get errors in the Distiller window indicating the problem. With success, the next step is to check if AcroTray is running, so simply print without using print-to-file. If it does not work, then look for AcroTray.exe in your Distiller folder. This application must be working if the print to Adobe PDF is to work correctly.

  • Overwrite files BUG! Save PDF to Web Receipts Folder

In Safari, I will often want to save receipts of bank transactions. So I hit Command-P to print, then in the PDF menu button, I'll choose "Save PDF to Web Receipts Folder."
When I look in my Web Receipts folder, it has saved the file, but if there was already a file there with that file's name, the old one is replaced by the new one. I found this out the hard way, as my bank's page title is always "National Bank," and Safari uses the page title as the file name. So instead of accumulating receipt PDFs there, I merely had the most recent one.
This is certainly a bug: the Mac shouldn't be overwriting files without telling me. If it's going to save PDFs in the Web Receipts folder, then I should have the option to choose a name or approve the name that it generates from the HTML title.

Yes I agree this is an intentional bug.
Other things you can do to get around this issue:
    1) Disable the "Save PDF to Web Receipts.workflow" located at /Library/PDF Services. This is at the root level of your disk and you will need Admistrator level authority to accomplish this task.
    2) After you disable the workflow you could build your own without the: "with replacing" (save file) option enabled in the script. However, I believe this will not work, as you are already in a dialog box (printer), and the script will generate an error, and prompt a dialog box for you to enter a new name. I am not sure if this is the conduct, as I do not use this workflow or "feature."
    3) After you disable (or just plain not use) the above workflow: Instead create a folder in your Home Directory called "Online Receipts" or whatever memorable name you like. You can place this folder anywhere.
Next, navigate to ~/Library/PDF Services (that is the folder in your Home folder, not at the root level as in (1) above. If this folder is not there, create it.
Next create and drag an alias of your "Online Receipts" folder into this PDF Services folder.
The next time you pull up a print dialog, and hit the PDF button, you will see this newly created folder in the menu. Just select it to save a PDF of your document to it. Files with identical names will be handled by the Finder's naming convention: (eg. file.pdf, file 2.pdf, file 3.pdf, etc.) and no files will be overwritten.
    I hope this helps,
    Zac
