Save photos in lower resolution

Is there a way I can lower the resolution of photos I have in iPhoto from about 1.5 MB to around 300 or 400 KB and then save them in a separate folder, send them, etc? I know I can adjust resolution if I use the EMAIL function within iPhoto, but I'd like to do this independently of iPhoto.
Is it possible?
I'm using iPhoto 2.

Use the export function in the menu. This will let you resize.

  • Save PDF as low resolution jpeg Acrobat Prof. 8

What settings should I use to save an A0 pdf map (3.25mb) as a low resolution jpeg that can be viewed online at full size without being good enough to save and not buy the map? Or is it just too impractible.

If I understand correctly, you want to make JPEGs to put on your web site to help people preview a purchase.
Use Photoshop, not Acrobat. (The DRM reply would apply if you wanted to put up a PDF but limit what could be done with it).
I suggest a very low res picture of the whole thing, which won't show any text or detail but will suggest the scope of the map, and a full resolution detail view of a small interesting section.

  • Photos got low resolution after upgrade

After I upgraded my iPhone, all the photos in my photo library got a very low resolution. They are all fuzzy. Can anyone help?

The main problem is that the photos that i have on my iphone came originally from my PC, and I syncronized them to my iphone a while ago. However i no longer have this computer and therefore only have thoses photos on my iphone ( considering that it isn't possible to syncronize photos that were taken by the iphone to the computer ). When I upgraded my iphone to the iphone 4 , those photos (that were not taken but the iphone, but are stored in the iphone library) have had their quality reduced. I would like to know what happened, and mainly what can i do to get all those photos back, because i do not have them anywhere else.
    thanks

  • My Nokia 701 saves photo with low quality

    1. I set my camera for making picture with sizes 6M (16:9)
    2. I took a photo and then I checked the file - it has resolution 3264x1832 but only 823k
It is too small for this resolution!!! If I will print it by 10x15, 20x30 or large it will be horrible picture.
Could you help me? What should I check or set in my phone for taking nice photo for the big resolution
    Thank you

I tried with another brand as well, with the resolution 3264X2448 (higher) and the sizes of the photos were around 1-3MB. This is normal to all mobile phones and changing the brand will not make much difference for the picture size.
You can find more about the camera from here > Expand all > Multimedia.
If you think there is something wrong with the device, you can always try the actions below and see if they make a difference:
Make a back up with Nokia Suite. Type in *#7780# = soft reset, no data lost.
Reinstall the phone software. The process is the same as when updating with Nokia Suite, but at the end select "Reinstall".
Type in *#7370# = hard reset, phone memory will be wiped. Restore back up.
    Hope this answers your question.

  • Help my low resolution photos

I recently attempted to create a photobook at a couple of online websites. After putting together the book, the website indicated that the photos were low resolution photos. I printed the book anyway and it was a disaster.  How did this happen? I've spent HOURS trying to put together this project and I don't know where I went wrong. How do I export high resolution photos from Lightroom3?

    Hello Jim,
Thank you for your assistance. I am truly grateful.
I export my pictures one at a time because I spend time actually looking at my images while simultaneously learning the LR3 software.  Often, I may see several photos within a photo. It is those times that I want to experiment with processing and effects. Once I am happy with an image, I export it and might continue to work on the next 'image' within the same photo.

  • Why are my photos now appearing in very low resolution?

What happened to my sharp and clear photos? Why are my photos now very low resolution with a progress image appearing as a circle on the photo and filling in 1/4 of the circle.  Why are the photos very low resolution copies that look like crap? Where are the good sharp photos I took?

Latest iOS on iPad Air in photos. It appears server was slow. Progress bar circle now filling in complete circle and resolution is good.  Why do I have to download my photos from iCloud i have plenty of memory space on my ipad ?  Same with movies and music I purchased.  I bought extra physical
memory when I purchased my iPad so I could view my stuff regardless of whether I had a wifi connection...apparently not.

  • Low Resolution on iPhone 5c

I've owned an iphone 4s, 5, and now a 5c.  How can I tell what the resolution is on my photos?  When I upload photos to a developer website such as Walmart, I always get the same message...my photos are LOW RESOLUTION.  Please help...how do I fix that???

Did you try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Appel logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting.
If this does not work, did you try to switch off Cellular Data, restart the phone and switch it back on again?

  • From Low Resolution Recording to High Resolution SVCD or DVD

I am wondering, if I record from a VHS tape at the lowest resolution onto my hard drive, then use WinProducer/Wincoder 2.0 (bundled together now) to convert it to a higher DVD quality resolution and burn it to a CD, will the quality be at least near what it would have been had I have recorded it as a high resolution file to begin with?
I thank any responses in advance.

    hplsbyufan
The point of recording in low resolution is that it takes less data than high resolution. So if you save something in low resolution you have lost the extra data that was needed to describe the images in more detail.
By way of analogy, if I describe the plot of a film I have just seen (low resolution) you cannot use that description to retrieve the detail of each scene (high resolution).
So, unfortunately you cannot get a higher resolution than that in which you originally recorded it.
    Sorry

  • Iphoto low-resolution issue

When making a book in Iphoto, iphoto does not say photos are low-resolution until after I go to assemble the book? So I have to go back and fix each photo individually after trying to assemble the book

There are several issues at work here. Which all seem to stem from this being an ipod with better video than a settop mac.
First the apple TV displays a max resolution of 720p (not 1080) for videos and photos alike.
Second when the photos are synced their resolution is reduced to have a max of 720 pixels vertical resolution - I'm not sure but there is an apple photo database in the pictures folder that looks like it contain these versions of the pictures.
The photos are then displayed by the apple TV and if you set it to 1080 it blows up the smaller images to fit the screen. From what I've seen any portrait pictures look OK (because they aren't blown up) but landscape photos look like crap. this may not be as noticeable if you use ken burns effect because it doesn't appear to blow up the picture when it uses this.
We purchased this primarily to show our photos in hi res on our 1080p tv, its a big disappointment and will be going back. Get a mac mini instead!

  • QUESTION help!!!  iphoto library is low resolution

HELP! I want to resort my ophoto library. I was in the iphot library trying to delete unwanted photos ( I KNOW THIS WAS WRONG ON MANY MANY LEVELS). But I tried to rebuild my library and now the photos are low resolution. I backed up my library and they are low resolution too. The message I get is the library cannot be imported because the file is in iphoto library. HUH??? I just want it back the way it was. Please someone help....

Well you're learning the cardinal rule of iPhoto:
It is strongly advised that you do not move, change or in anyway alter things in the iPhoto Library Folder as this can cause the application to fail and even lead to data loss.
You have corrupted your library, and by the sound of it, caused massive duplication.
You need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents on your desktop and find the Originals folder. Sort each Events folder inside the Originals by SIZE. Trash any files smaller than 100kb. This is also an opportunity to find and trash duplicates. When you have made your choice in each Event Folder in turn drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

  • My browser on my Curve will only save low resolution pictures. Help!

For some reason now, everytime I browse on the internet and find a picture I want to save, it will view it and save it in a very low resolution instead of its normal resolution. Why is that? I have tried freeing up memory and I have all my media saved in a media card with a bunch of free space. Any help with this will be welcomed. The pictures are so low res that it is useless for me to view or save any picture using my blackberry.
    Please help!

How are you backing up the photos?  The best way is to backup the library itself as that will preserve your organizational efforts as well as all metadata like keywords, titles, faces, places, books, etc.
You can use a backup application that does incremental backups.  Thus only the first backup is a full one and subsequent backups just copy those files that are new or changed. I use Synk Pro.  The lower cost version, Synk, will do the same job.  Other similar apps can be found at MacUpdate.com.
OR: upload your camera to a folder on the Desktop. There you can rename the files to something that is more informative than just the file name.  I use the date (international format) along with a brief desc: 2007-1-20-adian1stbday-001.jpg.  File renaming apps can also be found at MacUpdate.com.  Also you can give the folder an informatve name which will become the Event name when you import the folder of photos into iPhoto.

  • How do I save a picture in a lower resolution for the website

How do I save a picture in a lower resolution for the website

Check the App Store for apps that allow you to change the pixel dimensions of the photo. I use PhotoForge2 and it does a wonderful job of that by allowing you to move a slider to change the dimensions of the photo. Unfortunately Google purchased the company that made photoforge and it is no longer in the App Store. Thee are undoubtedly some other apps that will do what you want.

No, not in the Photos app. You would need to purchase/download a phot editing app for that.

  • I transferred some photos to my iphone via email and they come up in camera roll as low resolution.  How do I fix this?

I transferred some photos to my iphone via email and they have very low resolution.  First I sent them from iPhoto with highest resolution, then I transferred them to my desktop in highest resolution and added them to an email, opened the email and saved to my Camera roll.  They all look like low resolution photos. This is the exact method I have used to transfer photos in the past with my 4S and never had a problem.  What am I doing wrong?  Is this a bad camera?  HELP please!  Thank you!

My husband has the same phone, we purchased them at the same time.  I sent him the same photos in the same email that I downloaded them from and on his phone they show up with the normal higher resolution.  Is it possible that there is something wrong with my iPhone or is there a setting that can be changed?  I'm still learning to use it.  All my other photos are of normal resolution.  Does this make any sense to anyone?
    Please help!

  • In iphoto, how do i save a photo after editing, in the same or higher file size, it's saves in a lower size

in iphoto, how do i save a photo after editing, in the same or higher file size, it's saves in a lower size

It's rather more complicated that this.
iPhoto is a lossless editor. You don't lose any quality on your shot in iPhoto.
The file size you see reported is the size of your iPhoto Preview: this is what gets used if you access the data via a media browser. It's a "good-enough-for-most-uses" version of the shot. Email it, upload to websites, use it in Presentation, Word processing file etc
If you want to set the quality yourself then Export the photo using the File -> Export command.
You can choose to export to Jpeg, Tiff or png. Tiff is lossless but the file sizes are up to 10 times larger. Jpeg allows you to choose different qualities: High, Medium or low. The difference is the amount of compression involved. High quality means very little compression. It's not unusual for photos exported at this setting to have a larger file size than the original.
Which setting you choose depends on the use you intend. Further editing, printing then high is important. Sending to Facebook? Well low will do just fine there as they're going to trash the file anyway.
But the key point: the file size only becomes an issue when you export.
