"Save" pics will no longer work on iPad

I think after the update (a couple months ago) the "Save" function quit working while trying to save a photo from Facebook. It worked fine before and always saved to the camera roll. Now, when I press "Save", it goes no where.

Thanks so much, Demo... I've been looking for a solution to this for several months now and none of my searches provided the solutions you gave. I discovered today that I could save a pic from Safari (but never need to) so assumed it was a FB problem. I dumped the program and reloaded it, but it didn't help. Evidently, the 6.0 upgrade or 6.01 changed those settings. Actually, there were no options in the first Settings scenario, but in the 2nd, I discovered that all the restrictions were "disabled". I turned that on, but it wasn't until I tried the last option (Privacy>Photos) that the problem was finally solved. I can't believe how much time I've wasted over the last few months on this (and even saw other posts of folks that lost the "Save Photo" function after the upgrade, but never saw the Privacy settings discussed. Thanks again, I really appreciate it.

My computer which is a packard bell vista operating system, recently stopped working as the power supply overheated and blew up and it has recently been sent back to the Know How team at PC world and it seems to be since it came back I now cannot open iTunes. I have also tried to search for iTunes in the search bar, I can see several files, but can't seem to open any of these either. I think that quicktime isn't working, either.
I have over 4000 songs in iTunes that I had recorded from my collectiong of CD's am going to loose all these now? Can anyone help, with very easy instructions as I really don't know what I am doing??

I would copy over the entire thing if you have room. With iTunes 10.4 though, you can download any previous iTunes purchases you have made in the past with your current iTunes account. While in iTunes, look at the left hand side of your screen and select "Purchases" and look at the bottom right corner of the screen and select "Download Previous Purchases". If you have an iPhone, iPod and/or iPad...you can do the same thing from each device. Nice new feature...just remember that those ripped CDs need a back-up!!! Enjoy...

Whentrying to uninstall iTunes (the first program that must be uninstalled per the instructions) I get a message: A network error occurred while attempting to read file: C:\Windows|Installer|iTunes.msi. I can't even uninstall iTunes?
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page).

After clicking one of the circled links, you should be taken to another page, and after a few seconds you should see a download dialog appear for the msicuu2.exe file. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me in Firefox:
Choose to Save the file. If the dialog box does not appear for you, click the link on the page that says "CLICK HERE IF IT DOES NOT". Here's a screenshot of the page with the relevant link circled:
When the dialog appears, choose to save the file.
(2) Go to the Downloads area for your Web browser. Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. Try this and see if it fixes it for you. Close all apps in the recents tray and then reboot the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of all of the app icons. Tap the home button.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

I suspect that your Personal Address Book file is corrupted and won't save any changes. As a check, what happens if you double-click the List in question and add the new member by typing it in? And then if you close and reopen Thunderbird?

I think it is some sort of permissions issue preventing the installer from updating the shortcuts. Is your account an administrator of the machine? If it is and you still have the problem then you may need to explicitly use the "Administrator" account for the install.

Which Apple app's will no longer work in Mavericks?

I am using OS 10.8.5 on my MacbookAir. I was contacted by Apple to download a free update to Mavericks, OS 10.9.
I am very suspicious after having been many times forced to buy new apps working under newer Apple operating systems, because some previouly working apps suddenly no longer did after an Apple System upgrade was installed.
I lost mountains of important files created with Applesworks, including important spread sheets and data files which suddenly no longer opened because the Apple appllication used to create them was no longer supported by the newer Apple OS.
I also recall the total mess with earlier iMovie and iDVD updates most of which ensured that previous iMovie and IDVD schemes coukd no longer be opened or used.
Since Apple does not inform users of such problems before the updates are downloaded, maybe it will be of great benefit to get
a reply from other users who have upgraded already to Mavericks.
So which apps, if any will no longer work, if the OS is upgraded to Mavericks?

We wouldn't be able to give you a blow by blow description of which apps will or will not work with Mavericks. There are a lot of people who have upgraded to Mavericks and are not having any issues whatsoever.
There are others who seem to be having every possible issue you can think of.
I would imagine that the difference in experiences here is due to the types of sofware people are running, the amount of CPU capacitity they are using to run various apps, games, etc. Whether or not they are running non-Apple applications, how often they have dropped their laptop, etc.
Since you seem concerned with messes, and problems, and losses of files, then unless you have some burning need to upgrade right at this very moment in it, it seem like it might be prudent to wait.
That's what I am doing. I am perfectly happy with Mountain Lion. There is nothing in Mavericks that I feel I can't live without for awhile. Eventually, I will be upgrading to Mavericks, because I don't want to fall behind in OSX levels for my machine. But for now, there is simply no pressing need to do so.
Bugs are being worked out. Fine tuning is being done. Enhancements are being made.
So, why rush into somehting that has been out for only two months....what's the hurry? It's not going anywhere anytime soon....

You have (probably accidentally) moved or deleted the Lightroom program. You need to find it (have your operating system search for lightroom.exe) and move it back to where the shortcut expects it to be.
