Save project , Move project, open a project

Hello out there..
I apologize if this is too ignorant.. I open Logic Express 8 on my G5 desktop and I pick a blank template. I ended up recording 6 audio tracks.. I used the effects, EQ's, etc.. I mixed down and all is GREAT... NOW, I finish up and I save the project. I want to save this project onto a cd or even my 4gb flash drive. HOW do I save the PROJECT to a CD or flash drive. I can find the folder with the project name, but the contents do not open the project. HOW do I move this project to my laptop? How do I open a project that is not the LAST project I worked on? PLEASE help... I have a GREAT project I worked on and NEED to get it to my laptop for a show.... I appreciate any and all help. Simply , how do I open a project and move it is the question..

just to be sure....
1. you did manage to move the complete folder you mention onto a memory stick or the like??? Should be a matter of drag-and-drop in the Finder
2. you probably discovered the bug that LE8 can't open anything with File > Open... let's hope that Apple will fix that one quickly.
3. In the folder you mentioned there should be a file with an Icon that says "Project". It should have the same name as your folder. If you right-click (or Control-click) on it, you can choose "Show Info", and it should tell you that the file actually has the extension ".logic". If you double-click that file, LE8 should open it. Or else drag it onto LE8's icon in the Dock. Both methods work on my iMac....

I can't see the timeline or Project panel when opening my project

i dont know what happened, i clicked in a button and i dont know what button. My right video, the editor, and the timeline were gone, i was editing a video for 5 hours and a half. I saved the video, but when i open the project doesnt have a timeline and the right video dont have anything. I know that i dont lost my video, because when i open the project let a long time to open, and my other projects open normally. Just that project that's happening this. Anyone know what's going on? I need to show this project tomorrow. Thanks a lot.

Look, I can't drag anything to the timeline and to right video. I was saving and just gone everything. I can open the timelife, but when i close the premiere and open my project again, its not there, and my video doesn't appers. and i think that my project is intact because it takes 1 minute to open. And i saw my video is 2,7GB. Can u help me?

How to split a "project" (movie) into two separate projects.

After converting two Hi-eight tapes into digital format for use with iMovie 10.0.3 (?), I created a movie called "Japan 1994" , complete with titles, imported still photos, etc. But it was over 2 hours long. (My wife considers any movie longer than 29 minutes 59 seconds as cruel and unusual punishment under the U.S. constitution). So I went to Imovie "Help" .....Hah!!!, surfed the web with my problem, with further frustration. So, I devised my own method:
1. Created two new (empty) movies, "Nihon 1" and "Nihon 2" (Nihon=Japan, in Japanese)
2. In "Japan 1994", found a convenient break point rougly half way through, shift selected several clips up to the half way point.
3. copied all of these at one time (command C)
4. Opened "Nihon 1" and pasted (command V) these clips into this project.
5. Repeated steps 2, 3, 4 for the second "half" (into "Nihon 2")
All of this produced two separate projects of around 1 hour each. Added appropriate titles at the beggining and end of each of the new movies.
Worked like a charm.
Hope this helps other users of iMoive 10. (whatever).

Wow.
There are lots of ways to do what you're asking besides what has been said. You can double click the clip in the Browser. Set In & Out points in the viewer and add the Clip to the sequence. No need to split or cut anything in the sequence.
You really need to learn a bit more before you continue cause this is a pre-noob question. I don't really know how to categorise it.

"Open other project" always fails

Hello all,
I have been trying to figure out how to get the project end
option "Open other project" to work.
I am using two small SWFS, linking one to the other, but at
the end of the first project I get the "Page cannot be displayed"
message despite the fact the files are stored on a public server
with no access restrictions.
Can anyone explain and/or point me to an explanation?
The preocess seems straightforward. what am I missing?

Try the following steps:
1) Change your Action to be "Open URL or file"
2) Key in the relative URL to the movie you are attempting to
link. If it is in the same directory, simply key in the file name
of the .swf you are attempting to load.
3) Publish and test.

Plant a match code for opening a project

Hi All,
I am trying to develope a match code of Plant for opening a project. Such that a list of projects to come out after entering a plant then select a project and then open a project like PO by supplying plant. I have gone through SPRO that is OPT2 match codes for Project definitions. But not found ready made match code to be included.
Is ther any easy way other ABAP use? or give logic how to deveope it.

If you mean opening a project in standard reports like CN41, it would be easier to use "dynamic selection option" and hard code the plant, and then save the selection version.
Everytime, you want to open projects in the respective plant, you can call the selection version in the initial screen of the report.

Can't open Garageband project, please help

I was using a Mac Mini, 10.7.5, and recorded some vocal tracks on Garageband 11. I clicked gospel choir vocal effect at first, and it was fine. When I wanted to try another effect by clicking another one, the application quit. When I tried to open the project again, the initializing window popped up, and a few seconds after, it said something like "Garageband quit unexpectedly, do you want to reopen to restore the windows". When I clicked "reopen", it directed me back to Garageband recent project page without opening the project I was working on. I tried to open other projects I worked on previously, and those could be opened; just not the one that I worked on recently.
I didn't back up anything with the Time Machine because I never used it before, didn't know how to use it.
I just saved the project to my USB drive, deleted the one on the Mac Mini, deleted Garageband, updated to iOS10.9 something, reinstalled the newest version of Garageband, tried to open the project from the USB drive, failed again.
When I open the "show package content", some mp3 files of my recorded vocals are there. I don't think all of what I recorded are there, but some.

How to make sure, on success action 'Open another project' works on both ipad and desktop devices

If I have a project with a open another project in a new window action set to a button in that project, will only placing the swf and htm files of the newly opened project within the published folder of the parent project be enough for allowing the parent project to be played successfully both in desktop and mobile devices like ipad? To allow this, I presume multiscreen.html file located within the published folder of the parent project is the file to be used. But, since swf files can't be played on mobile devices, do I need to place the multiscreen.html file located within the published folder of the newly opened project into the published folder location of the parent project? The parent project folder location already has multiscreen.html file specific to that project and if the multiscreen.html file of the newly opened project need to be added to the published folder location of the parent project(which also has multiscreen.html file), how do I go about doing this? Can I just rename the mulscreen.html file of the newly opened project to say something different like multiscreen1.html and add this file along with the swf and htm file into the published folder location of the parent project, so that it works for both desktop or mobile devices.

From what I'm hearing, you're probably wise to have a copy of the file in both locations. One in the same folder as the SWF, and the other in with the HTML5 files. What I don't know is exactly where in the HTML5 folders your file would need to be. It might need to be at the same level as the index.html. I haven't tested this.
You should be able to figure out the answer to a lot of your questions just by testing things out on content uploaded to a web server. At the end of the day, if it works, it works.

For Premiere Elements 11 and 12, you cannot change its default project preset from NTSC AVCHD Full HD1080i30 or its PAL counterpart PAL AVCHD Full HD1080i25 to something else.
For each project, you can set the project preset manually if you do not want the program to take over setting the project preset based
on the properties of the first drag to the Timeline.
To set the project preset manually, open the project to the Expert workspace, go to File Menu/New/Project and Change Settings.
In the Change Settings area, change the project preset. Before you exit that area, be sure to have a check mark next to "Force Selected Project Setting on This Project" in the new project dialog.
Then you import your source media, using the appropriate Add Media choice.

My guess is the file is corrupt. But first, let's make sure you have SP2 installed. It appears from the version number above that you do not. You can download SP2 at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2687457. I also recommend you install the June 2013 cumulative
update. You can get that at: http://support2.microsoft.com/hotfix/KBHotfix.aspx?kbnum=2817385&kbln=en-us.
If after installing the updates you still cannot open the file, go to the MVP website at, http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm and take a look at FAQ 43. Use method 4.

Links of projects is finished with current project in Project column

One of Ms project user complaining that his project links is not showing with other projects in the project column.
I don't know what is happened.
Could anybody answer for this issue.

1. Check If any filter is applied form Project center ribbon.
2. Ask Project Manager to Open the project then check whether that user is present in project team or not if yes then ask him to publish the project plan.
3. IF user himself is project manager ask him to open project from MPP then publish it.
Open MPP connect to project server --- then form enterprise project list select the project name then save and publish the project also ask him to assign one task to user who is not able to see the project link.
Ask admin to check whether project got deleted accidentally.

Lose of project movie clips after save

I've made a Keynote 2 presentation, which I export with Apple's codec in 720ip.
I then import this into iMovie with the project choosen as 720ip.
Putting it altogether is fine and running it, I'll save the project and when I come back to it I'll get a message that the clips are missing, they have been put into the trash and I'll have to re-edit them all where they were.
This happens on different Mac's with iMovie HD and HD 6
What's going wrong here?

Does the problem exist only on projects where you've imported a Keynote presentation? Or does it happen with all your iMovie 720p projects?
For example, can you create a new iMovie 720p project, import photos to it, then re-open that project successfully?
If it's Keynote only, please say exactly what export settings you used to export from Keynote.

I don't have Keynote to test, but I did try exporting a QuickTime movie to a 1280 x 720 AIC 720p movie, then I imported THAT movie to an iMovie 720p project. Everything worked fine. The project accepted the movie and re-opened without a hitch.
My guess is something is wrong with the Keynote-exported movie. Something wrong in its format or permissions or something. For some reason it seems to be creating a problem while other movies don't.
You might try exporting the movie from Keynote, then re-exporting THAT movie from QuickTime Player. Maybe QuickTime will fix the problem. (QuickTime Pro is required to export from QuickTime Player.)

I want to save my movies and projects on an external drive

Does anyone know how I can change the settings on imovie to save imported movies into an external disk? When you ase asked to select where to save the movies, it only gives me the option to save on my Mac HD and if you move the clips then you can't use your projects any more.
I don't want to take up all the space on my Mac and I like to save everything to a external disk. I do this with itunes and iphoto, so I can't see why I can't do this with imovie.
I am a new user, any help would be appreciated.

step1) purchase an external harddrive
step2) launch Utilities/Disk Utility, select new drive, choose Erase, choose Mac/hfs as format
step3) .. no step 3, new and formatted drive will be noticed by iM automatically; when creating New Event, it will allow you to import straight to ext. HDD. iM also allows to 'drag n drop' existing Events from internal to external drive without loss of connection to projects.

I edited my movie with an iMac. Now I have a Win but I can't open the project

I edited my movie with Premiere Pro CS5 in an iMac. Now I need to make some changes, but I have a Windows station.
When I try to open the project, an error message comes up:
"This project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type".
I read similar threads and I tried everything, but nothing worked.
I'd truly appreciate if anybody could lend me a hand on this.

I've tried, but no luck. In other project files I have in this computer ("good files"), they have different values on those lines. The only one that is common in all is:
<Project ObjectID="1" ClassID="62ad66dd-0dcd-42da-a660-6d8fbde94876" Version="23">
and in the "bad file" the Version is "25".
I tried to changing it...but no luck.
I'm sure in this code there is the explanation/solution for all this, but there are thousands of code lines, and the word sequence appears too many times.
It's first time I heard about XML export and I haven't been able to find any XML file.

3rd Party Plug-ins won't save settings on re-open of music project

When I'm using NI Battery 3 or Omnisphere Plug-ins they won't save the instrument setting upon re-opening my project. I'm not even using a custom setting on the instrument just a standard drum kit or omnisphere setting but when I save and close out of the program and re-open my project it sets omnisphere to the default and battery 3 or massive or whatever 3 party plugin i'm using back to the default setting...
