Save targa, pcx files in photoshop E.13. (testversion).

hello, i've downloaded the testversion of photoshop elements 13. could it be that there are no possibility to save targa or pcx files in the testversion? there are only 9 selectable types, but no targa or pcx. i work mostly with them and i need to know, if this problem will be solved if i buy the product? thanks a lot for your answers

Hi,
There is no difference in functionality between the trial version and an activated purchased version.
I think you will need the full blown Photoshop not the cut down elements version.

  • Targa Sequence files in Photoshop CS5

I have imported 300 Targa sequence files into photoshop layers. I'am trying to set 150 to multiply and combine them with the corrosponding numbered layer with the image I'am trying to multiply.
Currently I have all the layers, however is there any way to automate the merging process to save time, or do I need to manually sequence the layers, select multipy on the layer one at a time, and merge with the corrosponding layer for each one prior to exporting all layers to files? I would hope there is a tool to import two seprate Targa sequences and adjust one to multiply then merg the layers back in sequence... ?? ..

Did you drag it into Photoshop on top of an already open canvas to open it?  Try dragging it to the BORDER of Photoshop instead.

  • How do I save an install file for Photoshop CS6

I need to get an install file for Photoshop CS6 (not CR) that I can use on a Windows PC that, due to security reasons, does
not have access to the internet.  In the past I have been able to save the install file for Photoshop and/or Lightroom on my internet connected PC and then move it to the the target PC on a thumb drive or CD.  But now with the CC and the new "Adobe Installer" I can't seem to see how to capture the install file.
Please let me know how to do this.

  • Can't save layered .psd files in Photoshop CS3

    Hello,
I noticed yesterday that I can no longer save layered .psd files to any folder. What does get saved is only a generic file symbol.
I'm using a Dell 8200 computer, 1GB of RAM, IntelPentium4 processer, Windows XP Professional, and a Canon MP780 multiple function printer.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    George Masi

Is it saved incorrectly, or is the problem just that the icon is the generic one. In other words, can you A) click to open the file from the desktop. And, b) if you can't click from the desktop, can you open the file from within Photoshop, and see the layers correctly.
If B works, and A does not, then this means your Windows has lost the association between PSD files and Photoshop. You can often correct this by right clicking the file, and choosing Open With, with the Always open with this program field checked. There is also a way to set the icons back up, but this is more complicated.

  • Can no longer save Nikon .NEF files in Photoshop cc 2014

    Hi
I am hoping someone can help.   I was using a PC running Windows 7 64-bit and using LR, PS and Bridge to sort and edit Nikon files. This worked fine up to November of last year when I lost PC etc due to house fire.
In the interim period I've been using a laptop running Windows 8.1 with the latest Adobe Cloud apps installed.  However, now I find that when a .NEF file is opened in Photoshop and you try and save it back out, the only option is for PSD or JPG or Photoshop's version of RAW.
The troubleshooting I have done so far:
Taken all applications off and reinstalled them.
Downloaded separately and installed the latest RAW updates
I did recently purchase a Nikon D800 and assumed it might be an issue with that but it doesn't save out those from D80, D90 and P7000 all of  which I KNOW for fact were fine before.  I'm suspecting something missing from the installation but at a loss as to what.
    Thanks

I have a Nikon D50 nef on my desktop. Double-clicking on it opens Photoshop, which launches Adobe Camera Raw. If you get that far and can make adjustments in the ACR panel, you are fine. That's what opens first.
Then you click "Open" in ACR and your nef opens in Photoshop and the document tab on top gives the .nef extension. You make your edits there, but if you close Photoshop, you won't save it as nef, it won't be in the Save file list. You save it as psd for example and close Photoshop.
You now have a nef with develop settings on your desktop and the psd you saved out of Photoshop.
All perfectly normal as J.J. said, Photoshop will edit the nef file, but it will be saved in a format other than nef.

  • How can I save an ICO file in photoshop CC?

I already tried installing the plug-in for the CS6 version but it doesn't work. Can anyone please help?

    Hello JJMack,
Thank you for your help. I already tried installing the plug-in, I downloaded it from telegraphics.com.au/sw/ but unfortunately it didn't work. The solution I follow was to convert my file using an online service, converticon.com. Nevertheless I still would like to know how can I do this using photoshop.

  • Opening/Saving Softimage PIC files in Photoshop CC

    Greetings Collective,
I am trying to open and save Softimage .PIC files in Photoshop CC and having no luck. In my previous version of Photop, CS3, everything worked fine after loading the correct plugin from the goodies dir on disk. In CC I've attempted various things, such as downloading the plug-in for CS4 (all I could find on the web) and copying "Softimage.8bi" into Required\PlugIns\FileFormats but to no avail. Tried both the 8-bit and 16-bit versions - same results. Anyone have a solution?

Probably adobe plugins from cs4 won't work in photoshop cc, so take that plugin out and try the softimage plugin from here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/plug-ins-photoshop-cs61.html
Put the plugin in the Plugins folder, not in the required plugins.

  • Significant problem saving files in Photoshop CS2

I am running Photoshop CS2, with Windows Vista Home Edition.
My problem is a new one, as Ive been running the program the exact same way since I bought it several years ago. Two weeks ago I bought an Intuos 3 tablet, and installed the software that came with it (including Corel Painter Essentials), and updated the drivers for Vista. After doing so, the appearance of my save menu changed in photoshop, but everything still ran properly.
Yesterday when I tried to save a file that I had opened and modified (a photoshop file, not .jpg), Photoshop stopped responding. I did not receive any error message, the program simply froze, and refused to respond. I gave it more than five minutes before shutting it down. This has happened three consecutive times. I can save a new file, (using the save as function), but anytime I attempt to merely save (either using control-s, or by selecting save from the file menu) Photoshop stops responding.
I have not edited any preferences or settings.
I have lost a great deal of time and work over this, and am beyond frustrated. Any help would be very truly appreciated!

Thanks for the suggestions guys, unfortunately I'm still experiencing the same problem.
There was nothing off screen, escape did not help. I don't usually get a box when all I'm doing is saving (unlike using 'save as'). I haven't had any messages from Windows Error Reporting, and don't see anything in the System Event Log, but don't know exactly what I'm looking for as I don't access it regularly.
I've ordered the CS4 upgrade. Should arrive this week.
My new question is, should I uninstall my current configuration, install Photoshop Elements 6.0 (which came with my tablet), and upgrade that? Or should I leave it as is, and install the upgrade on my current configuration?
Will CS4 fix my problem? Or will the problem merely transfer onto it?
    Any help greatly appreciated!

  • Save an OBJ file without 3d object

Is there any way to save an OBJ file in photoshop without a 3D object?
I'm trying to do this so I can use the OBJ file in pixologic sculptris to get a glossy skin effect. Alternatively if you know of a straight forward way I can get a glossy skin effect I'd appreciate it!

I'm not sure what you are exactly trying to do here. Sounds like an oximoron - a model without geometry. Are you perhaps trying to save a points-only OBJ or any of that? If so, the answer is no. PS will always save the mesh. If you're trying to save the textures, then nothing stops you from doing just that liek you woulds save any other image file....

  • I've doubled my RAM but still can't save big files in photoshop...

I have just upgraded my Ram from the shipped 4GB to 8GB but I still can't save big images in photoshop. It seems to have made no difference to the speed of general tasks and saving and I can't save big files in photoshop at all. I already moved massive amounts of files off my computer and onto my external hard drive, so there is much less in my computer now, and twice the RAM but it is making no noticeable difference. When I click memory, under 'about my mac' it shows that the RAM is installed and now has twice the memory. Could this be something to do with photoshop? I'm running CS6.

Also, I just calculated 220 cm into inches and this is roughly 86.5 inches. Over 7 feet in length.
WIth an image that large, you may want to consider down sampling to a lower DPI to help with being able to work on and process images of this size much easier and it will be easier for your Print house to process, as well.
You might want to consider working with these rather large images at 225 DPI instead of 300 if resolution at close distances is still a concern.
Or what you good try is working with the images at 300 DPI, but then save them/export them as a Jpeg image at the highest image quality setting.
I do a lot of project where I use a high resolution jpeg image to save on image proceesing overhead.
The final printed images still come out pretty clear, clean and crisp without having to process those large files at a print house or having to deal with using that full resolution image in a page layout or illustration program.

Are Photoshop and OS fully updated and have you performed the usual trouble-shooting routines (trashing prefs by keeping command-alt-shift/ctrl-alt-shift pressed while starting Photoshop after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed, 3rd party plug-ins deactivation, system maintenance, cleaning caches, font validation, etc.)?

  • My biggest 'pain' at the moment is that every time I go to change then save a Photoshop CS3 file it says 'cannot save as the file as it has been left open or is in use by another application'

My biggest 'pain' at the moment is that every time I go to change then save a Photoshop CS3 file it says 'cannot save as the file as it has been left open or is in use by another application'

Rule Number One - NEVER go directly uinto the iPhoto library - there are no user servicable parts in it and making any change no matter how small can corrupt your library and cause data or photo loss
Exactly how were you trying to save a copy of your iPhoto library?
Albumdata.xml does not contain your photos - and again NEVER make any changes to the content of the iPhoto library - no dragging - no changes - never go into the library
We need to know exactly what you did
And probalby the easiest solution is to load your backup from before you messed things up
For reference after you get things working
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

  • How to save 4 bit .bmp file in photoshop

I saved gif file to 4 bit bmp file, but the next time I try doing it I cannot, the photo shop does not support it. If I have to do I have to do it I have to close photoshop and open the application once again to save another gif file to bmp. I need a quick solution because there are 1000's of icon that needs to be saved to 4 bit bmp files. I need help please... Thanks

    No, it is not possible.
    PNG doesn't support layers.
A few apps stuff their own private data into PNG to hide layer data, but well, it's private undocumented data.
