i got a few troubles trying to save my datas to a spreadsheet i was
wondering when i save how can i choose the time between two
consecutive datas?

If I understand you correctly, you have a data acquisition process of some type running and the output of this acquisition process is saved to a spreadsheet file. Before I can answer your question, I need to know if every data sample is being saved to the datafile?
If so, setting the time between consecutive data samples is really a matter of setting how often you are acquiring the data. Assuming you have the acquisition code in a loop, inserting a wait VI will pace the acquisition to whatever rate you need.
If there are samples that are displayed to the user but not saved, the case is a little more complex--but not much. The key here is how the saving of samples needs to be being triggered.

Close ALL open files and save jpg with jpg option

Hi,
I have some (a lot) of -jpg images to crop, and resize, while I have to do this one by one based on what portion of the image to crop, once done I need to close, and save them.
To speed up the process I open several files, and do the crop&resize, and when finished I use "close all", and would like to avoid to confirm the "save" dialogue, and the "jpeg options" "image quality option" dialogue, having to say save, and the option set to a given value.
Unfortunatelly I am not a coder, and didn't understand anything from the Javascript Scripting Reference guide.

Mouse tracking speed not saving in Lion

Lion does not appear to remember/save my mouse tracking speed setting. I set it to a faster speed but it reverts every time I restart. Is there a .plist file somewhere that I can delete to maybe fix this? Anyone else experience this? Thanks.

Since i upgraded to OSX Lion... im having the same problem as well..
Everytime i turn on my computer... it resets to the lowest speed..
I have to re-adjust my mouse speed setting....
oh also... if i change the speed as soon as OSX is booted, and open up an application afterworth.. like firefox or WoW..
it resets again!!
So now i have to open up an application first and then change the mouse speed setting... so i dont have to change the setting twice......
this is stupid...
seems like no promise of driver or firmware update from both apple nor Razer....
anyone have solution to this?

Like Jaba said try to check the BIOS options.
Furthermore as far as I know if the mainboard was replaced and no diagnostic test was executed so the CPU runs only with a 600Mhz speed. Well Im not sure if it is a same issue with your unit but its not wrong to check this possibility.

What exactly is new in Leopard if I don't have an Intel based Mac?

I recently helped my father upgrade his iMac to Leopard. Everything went extreemly smooth and the new OS is up and running. While the machine is only a couple of years old, it is not running an Intel CPU. As I flip through the installation book and see all the cool new features of Leopard, many of them depend on an Intel CPU under the hood.
So besides a new wallpaper and Time Machine (which doesn't apply in my specific scenario), I'm having a hard time seeing a benefit to Leopard without an Intel CPU. Furthermore, my fater has decided not to upgrade to iLife 08, so he's still running iLife 06.
So what I was hoping for with this post, is for someone to help point out what cool new things exist in Leopard for those of us not running Intel CPU's.
Can anyone shed some light?

Coverflow in Finder add QuickLook via the space bar and it's a winner.
Space bar toggles Quick Look on and off.

Apple puts it's own large 512p. icons on Pictures for CoverFlow ~ best to take off the small 128p. third party picture icons from Graphic Converter, PhotoShop, Toy Viewer etc. which look shocking in CoverFlow.
Loving Leopard, well worth the time & cost.

Saving old emails on the server, not in Mail

I imported an old mail program to Mail. I now wish to save prior years data off the Mail program (to save space and increase speed) and put them on to a CD or elsewhere on my computer. Is this possible? Do I trash the old mailboxes, which could be saved to the server? But where on the server do these go? What might they be labeled?

Why always failure at 45% of install of Base System Part 1?

Ok I have had Panther run on my iMac several times only to have it screw up and destroy itself hence reinstallation. However no matter what configuration I pick of Panther, It always either freezes up or kernel panics at precisely 45% of installation of Base System Part 1. Sometimes I run the installer log as I do this to see just what makes it give up at 45% and it gives me a type 2 pax error but the files it claims give it the error are irrelevant to the install and weren't asked for, mainly files from the Dutch language folder even though I install only the english version of the system to save HD space and speed up the install pace. After every time it fails the install I erase the HD verify and repair a few times to see that its good, and it still almost always goes down at 45% though sometimes it will go as long as 65% or 75% before going under. After about a week of this at a stretch out of the blue it will take the entire install without complaint, and then last for about a week and a half sometimes 2 weeks before it ruins itself again. No, my HD isnt too old, its only 2 months old, I have a GB of RAM and at the heaviest of load it only takes about 25-30% of total available to run all my stuff. Yes, it is the full retail install version of Panther.

Hello! The first thing that crosses my mind is the drive. You said it was about 2 mos old? When it was replaced was the jumper set correctly? I'm not real familiar with the imac setup. If the drive needed jumpering as master and if it's set to cable select all kinds of weired stuff can happen. Another thing to consider is a bad cd and lastly bad ram. If the ram is reading and writing incorrectly it will cause such behavior. I had a computer once that wouldn't complete an install from a known good cd and removing a problematic ram stick solved the problem. Tom

"Remove Panel" in Application Builder?

I don't really understand the purpose of the Remove Panel feature in the vi settings tab of app builder. It says if you are dynamically loading vi's, then you must set this to "no", which I have found out your app will not work if you don't do this. But what happens when this is set to "no" and what happens when it is set to "yes"? Why not leave it to "yes" for all vi's? And where is the "source setting" for this? Thanks!

The reason for not leaving it to 'no' for all is easy. It consumes more memory. Both static (your exe grows) and dynamic (a copy of all front panel control and indicator data is made). so removing the front panel saves memory and can speed execution time.
Setting all to 'yes' wont work because then there will not be a panel for anything the user needs to see. in other words, you need at least 1 panel to be set to 'no'. If you use other input or dialog boxes, these must be set to 'no' also.
Read chapter 28 of the G programming manual, specifically pages 28-19 and 28-20 for front panel memory issues. The whole chapter is a must read, i think, but read at least these 2 pages.

Image size or transform

I'm placing multiple image files of high resolution photography in Photoshop CS4 for output to very high quality inkjet as individual sheets. In the past I have always scaled, rotated (if needed) and sharpened the original files before placing them in the final Photoshop document at 100%, which is then sent to the inkjet printer.
In some other posts I have read that there may be no reason to do this, and that using Transform will result in the same or very similar quality and that Transform uses the default Image Interpolation algorithim set in Preferences. (I use Bicubic as the default) and sharpen accordingly for output. (I am aware of the differences between the different algorithms.)
Using Transform would save several steps and speed up the whole process so if there is no downside to this route I would like to do it that way. Though if I understand correctly it is advisable to use a smart object of the original layers to avoid degrgation from repeated transforms. Is the use of Transform any less desirable when rotating files? I also read in another post that there was a rounding error inCS3 and earlier which was problematic when rotating and scaling images with Transform. Does anyone know if this is still the case in CS4? In any case is this a non issue when transforming a smart object?

Here's a link to a very high quality image I took a couple of months ago at Bombay Beach, Salton Sea, Ca. Canon 1DsMKIII. Zeiss 21mm 2.8 Distagon f/11. The first image is a screenshot with side by side Bicubic and Bicubic Smoother renderings from a CaptureOne Pro processed version of an unsharpened raw (no sharpening or NR in C1 or Ps) and then interpolated up 200 percent. Are there differences? Yes. Huge. No way. In fact, there are areas where the Bicubic Smoother looks very slightly better and other areas where the straight Bicubic is noticeably better. Rez a 1DsMKIII file 200 percent and you can easily make a 40 X 60 inch print. The second image shows you the full frame with an approximate crop to give you perspective.
The bottom line is that for most of the work that most people do, you'll never ever see the difference in any kind of print. If you're going to make a ginormous print that's going to be scrutinized by print nazis with reading glasses, then you might see a slight benefit one way or the other depending on image content. If you're doing production work and need to crank, Free Transform will be more than adequate.

Implementing a MousePressListener as a separate class

I've got a MousePressListener inner class (i.e. MouseListener that listens for MousePressed event) within a MouseApplet class. I want to implement this inner class as a class of its own. I suspect that I'm going to need to store a reference to the MouseApplet object in the Listener class and also include a constructor in this Listener that sets the reference to the MouseApplet class.
The logic's coming, but can't think of the syntax. Any ideas?

OT: Find function in Finder no longer Finds... Help!

I know this has nothing to do with Logic, but I trust you guys' advice... so here goes...
I tried installing this new HP printer driver, and it proved to be problematic (for various reasons that I'll spare y'all the details of). The most notable side effect of all of this is that a file search using CMD-F from the Finder no longer works. It will not find any matches for anything, not the letter "a", not "Logic", nothing. There's a little wheel that spins in the lower RH corner of the finder window itself while the search is underway, but all it does is spin.
Is this a harbinger of doom? Any thoughts or advice?

I seen the same thing 6 ways to sunday with hp, first I had an hp all in one that doubled the setup manager and wouldn't install proper until I removed it from the hp apps. folder>utilities. Then a 48/90 scanner, this may be closer to your sitchu it used a file manager that completely disregarded my system prefs[energy saver schedule and processor speed].
So taking that manager out of application support>hp is probably close to what you've got to do look for needless plist files in app support or the hp apps folder.
I never get why hp is so sketchy this way, but it's common.

How does "SoftReference" and "WeakReference" work?

Can't enter windows 7 after I added 2nd hard disk

Bought a Thinkpad Serial ATA Hard Drive Bay Adapter (Lenovo 40Y8725) and a Hitachi 500G hard drive for my T61, the capacity now is increased to 820G.
But the problem is I can't boot my laptop!! Every time I restart my laptop, before I can enter the system(window 7), it shows a blue screen with an error code: "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL".
Several things I tried:
1, If I take off the bay adapter, everything becomes fine. And after I enter the system, insert the bay adapter, the new 500G hard disk can be recognized normally. (actually, this is what I have to do now if I want to reboot...)
2, Put the original 320G hard disk to the bay adapter and leave its original position (internal bay) empty, everything is fine
3, If now put 500G hard disk to the empty position (320G is still in bay adapter), problem again
So, it seems the adapter bay and both two hard disks should be ok by themselves, and the problem only appears when I plug them together to my laptop. My roommate also bought a bay adapter, and it works totally well on his T400 and windows 7...

Well, you should never trust a solution from someone who writes Speed Spectrum Clocking when in fact it is Spread Spectrum Clocking. However, the only reason I mentioned it at all is that you have to choose a setting in order to save the Max Transfer Speed setting.
They're both Hitachi drives? (It would seem so if you were able to use the tool on both drives.)
If you're not using a hard drive caddy on the drive in the Ultrabay, I would place a piece of insulation between the bare drive and the hard drive adapter. Some people use a sheet of plastic. I prefer a note card as it provides a cool visual indicator should the drive reach a temperature of 451 F.
I might have to retire this solution if it doesn't start to produce better results.
It the insulation suggestion doesn't help, I would post back with the product number of your T61 and any upgrades you have made.

Devour Problems

I have SO many problems with my THIRD Devour I am not sure where to begin! Unfortunately you take the phone to Verizon and they look at you like they've never heard of the problems and they definitely do not know how to fix them. Of course my 30 days are up and I am STUCK. Here are the top problems:
1. When I receive a text, then reply, my phone basically freezes - I can go back to my Home Page and then the bottom 1/3 of the phone goes black; phone is frozen; the black will go away and I get a Force Close message; hit Force Close; phone still frozen -- after about a minute of this process it will then become unfrozen. Sometimes the notification text message clears, some times not.
2. Not all contacts update from Gmail to phone -- if I add some one on my phone and then sync the phone to the Gmail acct. it does not transfer to Gmail.
3. I had pix for almost every contact in my phone. Now all pix are gone from contacts in my phone yet are still in my Gmail acct. No pix comes up when I receive a phone call or text. I have tried to go back into a contact and associate a pix with them again and it does not save. Yet, my speed dial contacts have pictures!
4. Set up contacts for Speed Dial - this is where the pix just showed up . . . Let's say I had 20 people in Speed Dial - suddenly on a daily basis my phone has started to drop contacts from my Speed Dial list. At first it was just one contact in position 3 so I added them back - then it started again, this time dropping more to the point where I am down to only 2 contacts in Speed Dial, plus VM.
5. Assigned Ring Tone (song) some times rings, some times doesn't or some times rings for some one else. I've tried changing to a diff. song, etc. - does not matter.
6. 3 times (days) I have had the phone not ring or vibrate for an incoming call or notification even though everything is set to function properly. I have also had the phone stay 'lit' meaning it would not go dark / to sleep - had to manually do this to get any battery life out of the phone. Then all of a sudden it works.
7. Battery life on this phone STINKS - I have the phone set on the lowest brightness level; quick screen time out; all wireless controls off; Battery set to Battery Saver Mode; Background Data & Auto-Sync off . . . I can make a few quick calls and texts and my phone will need charging mid-day. Having the phone settings like this sort of defeats the purpose of a Smart-phone when you can't actually use them (e-mail sync, etc). I def. can not be away from an a/c or vehicle charger a whole day and expect my phone to last.
8. I was advised to get Advanced Task Cleaner Pro - so I do have this.
The above are what I can think of right now that is happening on a regular basis and I find VERY annoying!! Have thought of switching to the new Droid X but it seems like there is not perfect answer - they all seem to have a quirk or two. Maybe a BlackBerry?
Maybe this is a Motto-Blur problem?? I am not sure why there is a Motto-Blur - seems like a middle man program that is causing a lot of trouble . . . . Can some one please advise or point me in a direction???

Weird, apparently you and I are the only two people with this issue because the lady I talked to today said this was very rare. Thankfully I'll be getting a new Devour...again. I'm sure that will fix the issue.
I think I would be willing to take the abuse, keep sending in phone after phone, if they would just admit that the phone is garbage. Instead, they act as if my claims are libelous. When I say things to the extent of, "I've looked at a lot of forums, and I know I'm not the only one with this problem," they said that, "people only complain on those forums." Well maybe we would stop the complaining if some techie came in and said, "oh, this is a quick fix that really works (and it really worked)," or a manager came in and said, "I'm sorry we backed such a poorly tested phone, what can we do to work with you," or even, "yea, that phone is terrible, sorry for your luck." When I pointed out the fact that the phone has been released for less than a year, but is already not listed on the Verizon web site, I was told that phones become obsolete, and technology changes rapidly. That's the best that you could do? If you're going to lie to me, make it interesting, or so complex that my feeble mind can't quite dissect what you're saying. But, please, don't insult me by thinking that this simple statement will fool me into thinking that you truly believe that there is nothing wrong with this phone. Don't tell me that the phone is no longer sold because that's the way technology works. Me, DEVOUR_BITES, and anybody else who has this phone knows full well that Verizon knows this phone is terrible, and, worst of all, refuses to even admit the slightest possibility that there is a systematic error here.
If anybody was able to finally have they're Devour exchanged without paying full retail for a phone, please let us in on the secret.
If anybody else out there is extremely bored and thoroughly enjoys typing contacts into their phone many, many times over, the Devour is great. It's got a sweet keyboard that attracted me in the first place. I've gotten 10x the use out of that than I expected.

Video plays in slow motion

I do not know how but one of my videos is playing in slow motion. How do I get it to play at normal speed and save at the normal speed.

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a solution. We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
is this when you play the video in iPhoto? Yes
what version of iPhoto are you using? The latest
what system version are you running? The latest
where is the video from? Camera
does it play correctly if played outside of iPhoto with Quicktime Player? No
what fixes have you tried? Running Quicktime which shows Slo-mo; unchecking it and then saving it
where is your library located? On my startup drive in my docs
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring? No
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library? Don't know; do not have this screen in iPhoto
what type of Mac? Mac Pro
how much free space on your boot drive? 200 GB
