Save to .xfl doesn't include bitmap assets in the library

Hi,
Just wondering if there's a fix for this or if it's a bug. When I save to .xfl format the bitmap assets aren't being saved into the library. They have been saved into the library in previous versions of the .fla. For some odd reason it just stopped working.

Actually I should add that none of the assets in the library are being saved - bitmaps, graphics, etc.

How to I record an Action to Save As that doesn't include a file name??

I have an Action that will crop and scale a PDF file then Save As a JPG to a destination folder. The problem is that when I recorded the Action I did so with a file named ABC.PDF and Saved it as ABC.JPG - and now every file saved with this
Action is named ABC.JPG
This makes it impossible to use with a bunch of different files. One file gets overwritten multiple times with the same name. The file name ABC.JPG is "burned" into the Action.
SO - how do I record an Action to Save As without including a file name??

PeterK - thanks for the reply. I tried that already - initially actually.
I even tried blanking out the field so I would save a file with NO name. PSD added it's own .jpg and saved it like that. Every file after that over wrote that one too so after using the Action on 6 files I still only had one ".jpg" in the folder.
I was hoping that there was a setting or preference somewhere. SInce this is Windows might it be OS related?

My Fall 2009 system DVI output to our HDTV doesn't include audio. Connecting the Macbook headphone output to the TV's RCA plugs works if TV is in AV (PC) mode, but no picture. DVI to HDMI adapter to TV works fine for picture, but no audio.

My Fall 2009 model Macbook Pro DVI output apparently doesn't include audion. Adapting DVI to HDMI works with new LG TV, but doesn't provide sound. Search for a DVI to HDMI adapter that includes a plug for the headphone jack comes up empty, so far.

DVI has never included audio, sorry.
There is also no DVI->HDMI adapter including a plug for audio; such thing cannot work without quite a bit of electronic extra effort.
Instead of much bla-bla, why don't you tell the exact TV model, and we'll try to come up with a solution?
BTW, no home theater AV receiver present, correct? Sound to come from the TV, correct?

ADE doesn't recognize my ipad in the library

Both my computer and my ipad mini are authorized with my Adobe ID, and I'm connecting the ipad before opening ADE, but the ipad doesn't show up in the library to let me transfer a book. What am I doing wrong?

Automator doesn't have "Documents" section in the Library

After selecting Workflow in Automator and selecting the docs. I want to convert, I'm supposed to select "Documents" under Library. Problem is, "Documents" isn't there so I'm not able to proceed.
Suggestions?

My new computer doesn't recognize my playlists in the library

I upgraded to a new mother board and reloaded XP. My new computer has my library on itunes yet won't recognize the playlists I created on my nano wth the old computer. Any suggestions?

Your iPod is designed to sync with only one iTunes library at a time. It will recognize the iTunes library on the PC as a new library. If you sync the iPod with this new library, all content will be erased from the iPod and replaced with what is in the new library. So what you will want to do is copy everything from the iPod to your new iTunes library on your PC first.

File download "save as" function doesn't work correctly

I am using Firefox 24.3.0 ESR on Linux LXLE 12.04.3. I have problems downloading some files from some sites. After some investigation I found that the files have been given the generic MIME type octet-stream by the server. Presumably this is to encourage me to download the file rather than have it open automatically in the browser.
For instance, if downloading one of these files that is a pdf file, left click gives me the standard box that allows me to choose to open the file in the default application or "save as". Once I do the left click, I can see that the file immediately starts to download in the background (network activity). If I wish to open it in the default application, it works. The green download arrow flashes and eventually the default application opens with the downloaded file when the download is complete. The download is then listed in my download library.
If I select "save as" and my preference is set to download files to a fixed directory, it ignores the directory they should go to and places them in my home directory. The green download arrow flashes and again records the download in the download library.
If I set the preference to "always ask me where to save files" then when I click on "save as" nothing happens. The green download arrow doesn't flinch and nothing appears in the download library.
After hunting around I found that the file has actually downloaded to my /tmp directory. Clearly that was the background activity mentioned above. The name of the file in the /tmp directory is made up of seemingly random characters and I can retrieve it from there but this isn't exactly ideal and I would like this to work the way it is supposed to. i.e. I want to be able to click on "save as" and select where I want the file to be downloaded to (and it to go there).
What could be causing this behaviour and how do I get the "save as" function to work?

Thanks. The /tmp and home directories are on the same partition as the main operating system. The Downloads directory is actually set up as a sub-directory of the home one but is a symbolic link to a NAS drive. It works fine for other MIME types. It is just when web sites use the application/octet-stream MIME type that I get this problem.
I checked the permissions and the /tmp and Downloads directories have full read write permissions for everyone. The home directory is the one with the restriction that only I can write to it.
So, I don't expect that sheds any light on the problem.

Thanks. I meant to say in my first post (but pressed the button before it got in) that I actually created a completely new Firefox profile and the problem is still there. Sorry, I should have included that.
The only difference with the fresh profile is that the "open in default application" isn't available, presumably because no default application has been assigned. The "save as" behaviour is still the same.
So, if the problem exists in a pristine profile, it looks like there is something deeper wrong.

Bitmap Assets Question

hey everyone,
I've been developing an app for iPhone, and have been using the standard resolution as a base for my app.
Using bitmaps works perfect on Standard resolution. But when I port it over with High resolution settings, the iPhone 4 seems to be encountering some major lag issues, I suspect it's due to the double-pixelation to scale up the app to fit the iPhone 4's resolution.
I was wondering, would it be wise to create all my bitmap assets base on the iPhone 4's retina display and then scale it down? Or is there another way in handling the multiple screen support.
My theory is by creating my bitmap assets basing on Iphone's 640 x 960 resolution, when it comes to up-scaling, instead of double pixelation, iPhone 4 would instead stretch the image back to it's original size.

But doesn't seem to be much of a help with interms of graphics usage.

I see no points you have to have a bitmap index on this column if you are having just one bitmap index for this table. Are other columns also a good candidate for bitmap index?
For such a small record 20,000 per year (Assuming size of each row is normal) and with four distinct values, I doubt you would gain any performance benefit between full table scan and bitmap scan.
Even with 20,000 rows and four distinct values and are populated at a same time you can create a b tree index on it such that the clustering factor is very low. Still it would not give much benefit.
And if most searches would be running against this table, I see it as a good candidate for keep bool in buffer cache.

Why DaRT doesn't include manager partitions option

We love to use Microsoft DaRT tools, but one thing we are frustrating is Why DaRT doesn't include an option that allow you to manager system partition.
We have successfully embedded DaRT into MDT for imaging deployment. before user want to re-imaging a computer, they'd love to copy the old partitions to save old data. but the DaRT doesn't have this option, and the MDT just imaging a computer with
one partition. It will wipe out the the older partition and older data. We have to use other tools to manage partitions before re-imaging. this doesn't save time.

If I wanted to include apple loops in the assets of Logic project folders that are part of a song that follows a tutorial available for download on a paid educational website would that be ok? No one would be paying for the file itself that's part of the membership. I don't want to get into any copyright problems. I understand that they are royalty free and you can include them in your music no problem but the individual loops would be in the audio folder if I saved all the assets to the project file.
Also, would it be ok to include screen shots I take myself of apple programs in my downloadable content?
Just trying to figure out exactly how I should go about it to avoid any legal issues.

My gut reaction is that you may well run into © issues if you re-distribute the original AppleLoops.If your customers are paying for the training, they are also paying for the content you provide, so I feel that you would be re-selling the loops.
Given that anyone who has a copy of Logic would likely have installed all the loop content, there should be no need to distribute them with the project files. Alternatively, make your own loops.

Search doesn't include text in calendar notes fields

I have a calendar created in iCal that includes about 90 entries with text in the notes field of each. Spotlight on the Mac searches that text fine.
I've synched that calendar to my iPhone - and search there doesn't include text in that field, though it does for the title field.
Its a great feature - but to keep calendar entries usable the titles need to be short with most details in the notes, but still searchable

How do I change a filename for a Word doc that I imported into Pages? The "save as" option doesn't appear and Pages assigns my documents arbitrary filenames and puts them in odd places like templates.
