Save track as mp3 format - how?

I want to create a track using logic express  8 and save it as an mp3 file to upload to a Sparkol video.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks

Press "Command + B" and in the pop-up window select "MP3" for your destination, which will be saved by default to your bounces folder inside your project folder.
If you really want to save just a single track, just make sure to solo it or mute the tracks you don't want before bouncing. The alternative requires an extra step: after selecting your track go to File > Export track as Audio File, then convert your AIFF/WAV/CAF to an MP3 file in another app like Audacity.

  • Why can't i export my track in mp3 format in the latest garageband

it seems so fundamental that having created a great track in garageband it should be easy to export it in mp3 format but the new version doesn't think it worthwhile to make it that easy.........after contacting apple support i was told to install some kind of file converter to get over this problem but it shouldn't be a problem in the first place.......as i say.....its basic and fundamental...............i managed to find a way round it by dropping my song into ITunes and converting from there but its such a convoluted way of doing such a simple operation............has anyone else found this problem.........has anyone found a way of exporting in mp3 thats easier than going through ITunes ?

    They dropped this feature.

  • MP3 Format in Garageband?

With Garageband, can I make a "voice message" using the built-in mic on my iMac and save it in MP3 format? I'm using Garageband version 3.0.5.
I went to the Apple store today and they showed me how to do it, but I suspect they were using the '08 version.
    Thanks for any advice.

  • Converting to MP3 Format, yet still not being able to Burn to MP3 CD

Bit of an odd one this - I have converted Music Tracks to MP3 Format, yet when it comes to burning an MP3 Disc, only half of them appear with a Box stating: *'The file could not be burned to MP3 CD. Only files that are already in MP3 Format may be burned to MP3 CD.'*
Why is this, when I have converted (painstakingly) each individual file to MP3 Format?

    Hello Country Linda,
Thank you for your question. It sounds like you are unable to burn an audio cd in iTunes. Here is a general list of troubleshooting steps to check if you are having issues with iTunes burning your music to a disc.

  • Can flash record audio in .mp3 format?

I have an Audio Recorder created in flash. Currently it records audio  and saves it in .flv format.(I am using AS2.0 and Red5 server)
My question is: Is there  any way by which I can record and save audio in .mp3 format, directly?
    Thanks in advance.

The .flv format is a "container" format, not a video format.
So that means that inside the container, you can have a video file and/or an audio file or even just an audio file.. which most likely is already an mp3 file. Use something like "FLV Extract" to break open the container and see:
    http://moitah.net/
But really, for any Web delivery of audio, the .flv (audio only) method works just fine. Lots of media players available for the Flash .flv file.
    For example:
Sounds from my bunk on the Lady Washington
    http://exploreolympics.com/reports/?p=2857
Scroll down to third media player.
A little quiet to start with... but this is a .flv file with just an mp3 audio file inside.
    Best of luck!

  • Can't rip to MP3 format using Creative Audio CD Rip

ALL the documentation says I can choose a format besides WMA. Except when I get to the dialogue box where I can change settings, Creative provides me a LINK that "explains MP3 formats."
And what does clicking that link get me
"You have reached an outdated page."
    Okay, the honeymoon's over.
Documentation is just downright bad, support is minimal (I mean, really, EMAIL ), and some things that should be simple and intuiti've (like ripping a CD track to MP3 format) just aren't. This is my first, last, and ONLY Creative product I'm throwing any money at. When this things dies, I'm just getting a Sansa. My last Sansa, though a mere 52MB, had REAL documentation and did everything it was supposed to without forcing me to follow dead links or send emails! Switching brands was a huge mistake - one I won't make again.

  • I have converted/copied my itunes oto mp3 format to play on my PC. unfortunatly I didi not specify a different folder fro the mp3's. I therefore have itunes side by side with my mp3's all in the same folder. How can I remove the mp3's into another folder.

I have converted my itunes on my imac to mp3 format so i could play them on my pc. unfortunatly  i did not specify a seperate folder for the mp3's to be sent to once converted.
i now have itunes and mp3's side by side in the itunes media folder. this has the effect of doubling my library.
how can i get rid of the mp3's from this folder en mass, other than erasing them one by one, there are 7000!!!

Click on 'Music' in the iTunes sidebar. Look to see whether you have a 'Kind' column:
If you haven't, choose 'View Options' from the 'View' menu and check 'Kind':
Now go to the Music list again and click on the label of the 'Kind' column. This will group all your AACs and MP3s together. Locate the MP3s: click on the top one. Hold the shift key and click on the bottom one to select them all. If you want to save them drag them to a folder on your Desktop. Then hit 'Delete'. IMPORTANT: when promted, choose to have them moved to the Trash, otherwise they will be removed from the list but kept in the actual library.

  • How do I save a Quicktime MP3 that I have downloaded in a Safari browser?

My friend has uploaded a new mix cd in mp3 format onto his website as a link. When I click on the link it opens in Safari and starts to playback in a quicktime window. Once the download is complete, how do I save this to my hard disk?

How do I save the MP3 if I only have the URL and not a clickable link? Once I type in the URL to the MP3 link it starts downloading in a Quicktime window but I cant figure out how to save it to my harddisk.

  • HELP!  how to eliminate leading silence added when saving in mp3 format

Everytime I save my sound files in .mp3 format, Soundbooth seems to add a little bit of leading and a little bit of trailing silence.  How do I prevent this from happening.  I am trying to use my sounds inside a Flash application and I want to have 2 sounds blend seamlessly.  I can't combine them into one sound for various reasons since different combinations of sounds are grabbed dynamically, but I've tried everything to get rid of those tiny bits of silence and can't seem to do it.
Any help/advice would be GREATLY appreciated.  I'm on a deadline (what's new?)

This is a byproduct of the way mp3s are encoded and can be difficult or impossible to avoid without truncating some of the audio.  An admittedly poor analogy is you have a pitcher full of water which represents your audio data.  You have a long row of cups which represent each "frame" of your compressed mp3 file.  Every cup is exactly the same size, and if you pour all of your water into the cups, and the last cup isn't filled to the rim, there's still the empty space in that cup.  Basically, that's what happens with mp3's - that last frame must hold a fixed amount of data, but if the last chunk of your audio only fills a portion of that, the rest is filled with zeros.  I believe the codec then distributes those zeros between the start and end to minimize a significant amount of silence at either end.
If the sound files are short, you might be able to use WAV files - a larger file size in exchange for far more control.

  • Converting an MP3 to audio book format - How???

    Friends,
I have long recordings of classes that I want to review on my iPod. Is there a way that I can save these as an audio book so that I can save my place between listenings?
    Thank you!!
    P

Just import into a logic session. Then bounce at the specs you require. Logic or Waveburner, iTunes and even Quicktime I think can each do this easily.
A question though. I am assuming you are converting an MP3 to 44.1/16 bit just so you can play the file in a consumer quality CD player?? IF so - that makes sense.
But if you are doing this because you think it will improve the sound quality of your MP3, I will save you some time here. It won't improve the sound quality at all. It will just turn the MP3 into a larger audio file.
44.1/16 bit resolution enables you to have a much better sounding file than MP3 formats, but not by going at it this way.
No offense to you if you know all of this already. I am assuming that you may not know this - because if you did you would also likely know how to convert an audio file.
    Cheers
    Darrell
