Save txt file on iphone

HI,
I'm running an app on my iPhone made with the adobe iphone packager and its working really well
I want to save some data on the iphone, just a few strings, and read them back in. Is this possible to do,
can you simply save a .txt file? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Sorry to revive an old thread, but does your method allow to save a text file into the documents location, then load it using another app? I'm trying to design a series of apps that will be played as episodes. At the end of first app (Episode I), I'd like to save some data, and load it when I start my second app (Episode II) to continue my progress. Is it possible, or is data only accessible by the app it was generated from?

Textedit won't allow me to save .txt file "The file "Untitled.txt" couldn't be opened."

I have searched for this but couldn't find the answer for it. Everytime I use textedit and then tried to save my file I get the following error "The file "Untitled.txt" couldn't be opened." I am trying to save the file to my desktop with .txt extension but still not able to do so and it is driving me crazy.

Recently TextEdit has been behaving weirdly.
I type a document and go to save and I get the following:
I think you'll agree that the document exists, this is a screenshot of it.
I know there is a "/" in the name and that Mac doesn't like it but the same problem exists with whatever name is used and in whichever location is selected for the save.
Having run Macintosh since OS 8.6 I do have some working knowledge of how to resolve problems. My immediate action was to reboot the system. Nothing - same issue. I then moved to the Preferences directory (~/Library/Preferences) and did the usual trashing of the applications preferences. I noticed that in Mavericks there are way more associated preferences for each app. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, I trashed the lot and emptied the trash. I was not able to empty the trash entirely - the system informed me that one of the documents was in use. I did not have TextEdit running. I removed the offending file from the command line using rm.
I then rebooted the system again and opened TextEdit and tried again and lo and behold the documents were able to be saved. However on inspection of the Preferences again I now find that TextEdit seems to have no preferences? See the Spotlight search below.
Whilst I tend to adhere to the adage "if it ain't broke - don't fix it" in this case I would really rather like to see the TextEdit Prefs.
Maybe there is a Mac-guru out there that can explain a) what is going on here b) how to reinstate some prefs for TextEdit as it would seem pretty normal that they exist. and c) what happens if TextEdit throws a wobbler again, I have no prefs to trash
At this time of writing TextEdit seems to be behaving normally aside from the above mentioned prefs issue.

BTE - After FI Customer invoice posting - save txt file

Hi Experts,
If I need to generate a txt file after the posting of a FI Customer Invoice, what BTE should I use? A P/S? or a process?
What about if the txt needs to be generated after the number has been assigned, but before the document is posted?
Can I use 1025 and 1030?
If you can suggest alternative BTE's number, would be great.

Thousands of individual .txt files being created while using "next available file name" option in Save to ASCII step

I'm using Signal Express to record Load vs Displacement data and export it to a format our engineers can work with (in this case ASCII is okay). It would seem that by selecting the Next Available File Name from the drop down arrow it would do just that. For instance a typical save path for me would look like C:\....Desktop\Project Number and Description\Run_1.txt within that Run1.txt file would be all the data points for that run. When I hit record again Signal Express would (SHOULD) create a Run_2 since it's the Next Available File Name.
But instead what it does is creates a single txt file for every single sample point being read. Needless to say, If I'm recording 6 second of data at 1khz I end up with thousands of txt files!
The first thing that comes to mind is, why would anyone want this?
Second is how can I record multiple individal runs for the same project and have the file name increment?

Again, this is 4 seconds of two-channel spring plot data at 100 Samples to Read @ 1k Rate (Start Run.... wait 4 seconds or two full test sample cycles... Stop Run).

The .txt file would not attach (I think it's too small). Here's what it looks like if you were to open it:

Also, for some reason it won't let me attach my project file. It's a .seproj extension but the forum thinks it's 1k in size and "empty"

Corruption in cshelp.txt file on save

When I add a topic ID to the cshelp.txt file using the
Context Sensitive Text-Only Topics editor and click Save, I get an
error message about an invalid file. When I open the file in
notepad it looks like this:

The editor has added a space between each character (and
removed one after topic). I think it is related to Unicode

I started this thread and have since developed a workaround
(similar to jc@salient) which I have detailed in a two-page Word
document. The document also explains several RoboHelp defects
related to this problem (hint to any Adobe people who monitor this
forum).
This interface doesn't seem to allow attachments; so, if

Running OCR on Combined document saves no text to .txt file

I am scanning in a large 500 page document, running OCR on it and saving the data to a text file for my program to process.
My network printer/copier/scanner can only read in about 70 pages at a time, so I scanned in as several PDF documents, which I saved to disk.
I Recognize Text in Multiple Files using OCR... on all of the PDF documents, Saving-As Text (Accessable) and it all works fine. I can then combine the text files in a text processor.
Then, I saw the Combine button, so I combined all of the PDF documents into a separate PDF file and ran OCR on it, but the resulting .txt file is blank! If I run the OCR manually, I can highlight the extract text, but when I try to save as Text (Accessable), it still fails to save any data to the .txt file.
Is this a known problem?
I am running Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - Version 9.4.5.

It depends on your VI. If you are using the "Path Control" tool, you can open its "Browse Options" and write .txt at the Pattern box.
If you are not using it, you can also concatenate a ".txt" string at the end of the file path (use "Strip Path", "Concatenate Strings" and "Build Path" functions) just before using it on the saving function.

Use menu Image>Image Size in the image size dialog uncheck Resample and enter 300 in the resolution field and click OK. Note no Pixels are changed only the resolution setting get changed. The use Menu Fils>Save As in the save as dialog use the file type pull down and select Tiff then click Save
In the Tiff Option Dialog in the Image Compression section set None The click OK.

How to save the time to a .txt file and retrive it back as time?

I have to save the time [hour:minute:second] and the date [date:month:year] to a .txt file. I am using the Calendar API to set the time and date as below

1. t is an integer, it does not have any methods.
2. It's a bad idea to use char[] to retrive the date. You should use readLine() method to retrieve the whole date string, say "10/23/2001" (certainly you can have hours, minutes, seconds, etc.). Then you need to use SimpleDateFormat class to parse this string. SimpleDateFormat gives you everything to parse a date string in any format you want.

Listen to port 25 and save incoming email as txt files

Hi
I am new to JavaMail. I would apreciate some advice.
I would like to use JavaMail to listen on a port such as 25 like a standard SMTP mail server, JavaMail would recieve the mails and convert them to txt file and save them on the Operating System. I want to know if this is possible?
Also are there any code samples available anywhere for receiving mail?

Hi,
This is rather Networking question then JavaMail API. The poin is that JavaMail API is designed for consumers, i.e. this is high-level level API (vendor indepemdent) which allows you to send/receive messages to/from mail servers using various protocols. It is not designed for implementing mail servers themselves.
So you should just implement a simple smtp server. There are lot of open source implementation that can be used as an example.
One of them is Java Mail Server on Sourceforge.net
