"Save Unprotected baseline" and "Save protected baseline"

In a previous thread, the topic "Save Unprotected baseline" and "Save protected baseline" were discussed for previous versions of Project.
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/projectserver/en-US/746e6d9f-01ab-4547-b8ca-4f33422a1441/what-is-protected-baseline-and-unprotected-baseline-in-mpp?forum=projectprofessional2010general
I tried to do a test and I set to "Deny" for both "Save Unprotected baseline" and "Save protected baseline", for the Admininistrators group for which I belong to, but nothing seemed to change. I was still able to set and clear
any baseline in Pro.  Is this a Admininstrators group super-power??!!  Seems that in a previous version of Project we had issues with such things with Admin group.  Is it not fixed in 2013?  I am using Project Professional 2013 and Project
On-Line,
Thanks in advance,
\Spiro Theopoulos, Montreal, QC (Canada)

Hi Prasanna,
I've been able to deny the permission for the
non protected Baselines from the admin group (see image below) and indeed it works as expected: I could not save Baselines 6-10.
But there is no group permission for protected Baseline, only in category permissions which cannot be modified for admins (my org).
Can you confirm that?
Hope this helps,

  • How to make pdf files save protected

    Hi,
We have displayed some company policy documents on our portal, we want to make those pdf files save protected and print protected, i.e we want to make the save and print button disabled.
Can you please help out with this issue.

    Hi,
In your case, you cannot do much to protect the PDF unless you create a Repository Filter (Content Filter) in which you change the security settings of the PDF file.
This needs some expertise in modifying PDF documents with some Java PDF libraries.
Check googling for Java PDF libraries, you will find some and get acquainted to them and start programming.

  • FPM and Work Protect Mode

    Hi Gurus,
Need your help with an issue I am facing.
I need to implement Work Protection in a custom ESS appl. I read in the forum/ help that FPM itself manages WorkProtection/ Confirm Loss-of-Work for ESS applications.
However, It doesn't prompt for 'saving' data in my case. I am not able to figure out a way to incorporate it?
Any idea how to implement it? I did go through the FPMComponent in xsfpm dc. But, am not sure how to implement it in my application.
    Thanks in advance.
    Anjana R.

    Hi Ayyapparaj, Thanks.
I am on NW04 SP 21. And Work Protect Mode works on the standard ESS applications.
I am not sure how to implement work protection in my application or how to trigger the Standard Work Protect confirmation dialog window.
I created a custom Confirmation window, but the client wants it to be consistent with the standard Work Protect Pop Up.
I did set the isDirty to true and turned on the "Prompt to save work" option on Portal. But, still doesnt work.
Could you please help me with this?

Thanks fore the hint. Are you shure it´s from apple?
This popup is not a normal behavior and I can´t see if it comes from apple.
The is no  hint on apple.com that its save and a wanted behavior.
Is it true that I have to put in 8 strings everytime I update an app?

Is there a setting that needs to be set to allow the annotation features?  I set password protection to open and then password for editing and set it to Any except page extraction, but it still did not give the annotation option

  • How do i personalize it and password protect it?

My internet works, I was trying to set up my new airport extreme and my computer froze in the process and now it works but the light blinks amber and its an open network connection that anyone can connect to.  I tried a factory reset, but it won't go back to the easy setup process like the first time.  It just opens and my computer connects.  Any thoughts for how to rename the network and password protect it?

To rename the Network Name: AirPort Utility > Select the AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) > Manual Setup > AirPort > Wireless tab > Wireless Network Name
To enable wireless security: AirPort Utility > Select the AEBS > Manual Setup > AirPort > Wireless tab > Wireless Security. I would recommend using "WPA2 Personal" for the security type.

Yes, you can write a plugin for Acrobat.

  • Is it possible to lock a layer within a document and password protect that specific layer?

Is it possible to lock a layer within a document and password protect that specific layer?

As stated, no way to do exactly what you want, but an option might be to turn OFF Visibility for that Layer, if you do not want it seen, and then Flatten, and do a Save_As.
If you do want that Layer seen, but not able to be edited, then Flatten, with Visibility ON, and Save_As.
The question is, do you want the recipient to see that Layer, or not?
Next, Do they need to be able to edit all other Layers, but just not that one?
Last, what type of Layer is it?
    Good luck,

Forefront TMG detected a possible SYN attack and will protect the network accordingly
    what should for this ?
    Regards, COMDINI

    Hello,
An offending host attempts to flood Forefront TMG with half-open TCP connections by sending numerous TCP SYN messages to a Forefront TMG server and not completing the TCP handshake, leaving the TCP connections half-open.
Please enable logging to identified this hosts and then check if it is infected by viruses or malware programs.
Please see the value of the number of Maximum half-open TCP connections in Flood Mitigation settings for more information.
Once your problem is solved, you have to see "Forefront TMG is no longer experiencing a SYN attack." message.

  • How do I unistall avg cleaner and virus protection ?

How do I unistall avg cleaner and virus protection ? I tried to re-install then unistall, and that did not work . any advise please.

    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
        1. AppZapper
        2. AppDelete
        3. Automaton
        4. Hazel
        5. AppCleaner
        6. CleanApp
        7. iTrash
        8. Amnesia
        9. Uninstaller
      10. Spring Cleaning

  • Overview of SCCM and Endpoint Protection...

I'm very new to the whole SCCM environment and I'm having the damnedest time finding just basic information concerning SCCM and it's separate modules. I have three basic questions that I hope someone here can answer before I move forward with anything to
    do with SCCM:
    1. My main need at this time is to deploy the Endpoint Protection portion to all of the machines in our Domain. Does EP require the Configuration Manager to get the central administration I'm looking for?
    2. Can modules be added to SCCM any time? For example, if I were able to just get the Endpoint Protection installed now, could I add the rest of the suite later?
    3. Where can I find installation instructions for SCCM, Configuration Manager and Endpoint Protection?
    Thanks
Brian Brehart Network Administrator SurePayroll, Inc.

    1.  Yes, to manage Endpoint Protection, you need ConfigMgr.
    2.  ConfigMgr has many different roles (but not separate modules) which can be implemented later like Application Management and Operating System Deployment.
    3.  You can find detailed step-by-step guides that are meant to help a person learn the product.
    http://gerryhampsoncm.blogspot.com/2013/02/sccm-2012-sp1-step-by-step-guide.html
    http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/4045-system-center-2012-configuration-manager-step-by-step-guides/
However, these guides are not prescriptive for the real world, just learning.  ConfigMgr is arguably one of the most powerful and complex tools that Microsoft sells.  Consider engaging an experienced consultant to architect and implement it, and/or
take an in person training course.

  • Cant install Toshiba HDD Accelerator and HDD Protection

Hi. I bought a new Satellite L845 SP4105LA one month ago with Windows 8 Single Language pre installed. But since I already got a genuine copy and key for Windows 8 Pro myself, I decided to install that edition. It all went well, I installed all the drivers, but I just cant install the Toshiba HDD Accelerator and HDD Protection. When trying to install HDD Accelerator an error windows appears that reads "Environment not supported (2008)", i tried with several versions of that program but always happens the same. With the HDD Protection, it just unpacks the files and then nothing happens. Is there a way for me to install this utilities? Thank you.

Windows 8 already has Windows 8 Pro built in. You just need to unlock it.
My advice is to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media, and then upgrade normally to Pro. All the Toshiba utilities will have been properly installed.

  • My deceased brother's IPad was given to me but it is locked and passcode protected.  I do not want access to the data on it, but would like to be able to use it.  Can it be unlocked and reset to factory settings?  Thanks!

You can try this: If you can't update or restore your iOS device
If he had not turned on Find My iPad then it will work, if he had you will run into Activation Lock. If you do run into it you can take a copy of the will (or probate finding if he died without one) and/or a Letter Testamentary and ask if they can look up where he purchased it. If they can, and you have the other documents, they can reset it for you.
