Save varient disabled

Hi All,
I have created an ALV report which will display in GRID mode, when i tried to save the layout as varient through settings>layout>save, the save option is diabled
can anybody tell me the reason whay and what i have to do.
Thanks,
Krish.

Hi,
You need to assign any one of the following values to I_SAVE export Parameter of the FM "REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY"
Value range
' ' = Display variants cannot be saved
Defined display variants (such as delivered display variants) can be selected for presentation regardless of this indicator. However, changes cannot be saved.
'X' = Standard save mode
Display variants can be saved as standard display variants.
Saving display variants as user-specific is not possible.
'U' = User-specific save mode
Display variants can only be saved as user-specific.
'A' = Standard and user-specific save mode
Display variants can be saved both as user-specific and as standard
variants. Users make their choice on the dialog box for saving the
display variant.
Thanks,
Sriram Ponna

    I cannot use the shortcut CTRL+S either. I have to click File, Save As, PDF...too long and drawn out. Why is the quick save disabled?

    How do I make it not disabled?

  • Save option disabled in Reader 7 when another user works on the same PDF

    Hi, I'm a first time user of Acrobat Pro 8.1 and 9. I'm creating PDF forms. When I open the forms in Reader 7 and work on them, I can directly save it, I do not have to do 'Save as'. However, when I copy this document on another machine, open it in Reader 7 and make changes, the 'save' option is disabled, whereas, I can do a 'Save as'.
    My client does not want to do a "Save as'. They want to modify the original document and just click 'save'.
    I would like to know if this is an internal feature of Reader 7. Please provide a solution, if any
    P.S: I'm enabling usage rights in Acrobat Professional, still the Save option is not available in machines which don't have Acrobat Professional.

    The document can be copied on another machine in two ways:
    1. The document can be sent by mail and copied to the recipients local drive.
    2. It can be placed on a share drive and copied on another machine.
    I am enabling rights through Advanced> Enable usage rights in Acrobat Professional 8.1. Do I need the Adobe Livecycle Reader extension software as well to enable local save in Reader 7?
    Please provide me a solution.

  • Why is the save button disabled?

    Don't know why but all of a sudden my Save button on the HTML editing window is disabled.  I open a file from my local site, make a change, and save on the toolbar is disabled.  I can go to the menu File - Save and it saves fine.  But the button is always disabled.  Can anyone help?

    Report it as a bug.  It happens from time-to-time.  Cmd+s will always work though.  I think there is a bit of lag in the button on the GUI at times.

  • Chart - PREVIEW and SAVE buttons disabled.

    I am using BI Publisher Desktop with WORD 2007 on VISTA. When I attempt to add a chart to a rtf template, the PREVIEW and SAVE buttons are disabled. I can move data fields from the Data section into the Layout Section, select chart type, even the style. Everything appears to work just fine but I can not preview or save. The template file is not in any restricted folder. I can add a table, then save and preview the document just fine.
    I have even openned some of the samples that came with the download and when I view the properties on an existing chart, I see the same disabled buttons.

    Which menu path are you using?
    Are the items available for personalization?

  • Can mini-save be disabled in InDesign CC?

    I am working on a very large InDesign file and admittedly I don't have enough RAM...I'm spending a good 20% of my time waiting for the computer to get things done.
    It occurred to me that I might speed things up by disabling the mini-save function. I would run the risk of losing data if/when I crash, but it would still probably save me a ton of time, even if I have to redo stuff now and then.
    Hoping this is possible! I did a pretty thorough Google search and didn't come up with anything.
    Thanks.

    Actually, I think the main thing that's slowing me down is the invisible "re-sorting" of all pages following places where I'm inserting new content.
    I'm working on a file that someone else created last year. It's about 200 pages of linked text boxes, each text box containing up to 20 or so small tables (each table contains some text - a product description - and an image of the product). Whenever I add a new table/product or remove one, there's a long delay, especially if the new table/product impacts the flow in the following text boxes.
    Probably not a lot I'll be able to do about that. Maybe it will become less and less time-consuming as I get further into the catalogue...assuming there are fewer following pages to be affected the further I am into the file.

  • Save as disability in PDF Reader

    Hi
    I am working on a Windows Application developed using .net and using a 3rd party DLL for creating PDF Files.Through the application the users will open pdf files available on the server and view it in Adobe Reader. Since this is a sensitive data, I want to restrict the users from "Saving a copy " of the Pdf file.How can i prevent the user from saving a copy of the pdf file.
    I observered that there are options to disable copying, selecting, printing of the pdf file, but i dont find an option to disable Save and Save as feature.
    If there are no straight forward approach for this, I would like to know any roundabout ways of achieving this.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Rotating text messages on Screen Saver for disabled person?

    I have an iMac set up in my mum's living room, she has dementia and I use the computer to speak to her using Facetime and Skype.
    I would like to be able to place rotating messages on the screensaver (in large font) to remind her of things e.g. when her shopping is due, with my phone number. I assume this is not possible with OS X, but is there an application that will allow me to do this i.e. rotating messages on screen saver with control of font size?
    Thanks in advance

    There's no completely simple way to do this but there's one way I can think of that doesn't require advanced geeking:
    1. Set up a cloud service such as Dropbox or Google Drive so it runs on her computer and on your computer.
    2. On her computer, set the screen saver to use PICTURES from a specific folder only, with whatever effect you like. Choose a folder that's inside the Dropbox or whatever that you set up.
    3. Now you can create pictures yourself and put them inside that folder and know that they'll display on your Mum's screen saver. You can choose whatever font and colours and whatever that you want to use for each message.
    43 Just make sure that you delete messages once you don't need them anymore, and that that folder only ever has one picture in it - less confusing. You'll probably want a default picture to put in there when there are no other messages, I'm not sure what would happen if the screen saver points to an empty folder.
    This isn't the only way to solve the problem but it's probably the simplest.

  • Photoshop CC "save as disabled"

    I loaded Photoshop on my home computer to do some work at night. When I open a jpeg file and then try to save it as a PSD the "save as" will not function. Nothing happens - no menu. The save function is OK, save for web works as well. I am not working with huge files - just want to do some touch-ups at the house.
    The computer is an older quad and only has 4mg of RAM. Everything seems to function fine. Loaded 15 photos in and no problem. I just can't use the "save as" to save as PSD.
    Did an update just to make sure. Running Windows 7 pro.
    Thanks in advance.

  • QT 7 Pro save feature disable?

    Tried viewing the movie trailers section and realised that the saving feature was gone! Read from Macworld.com that I have to buy a new QT Pro 7 key to fix the problem. True or false?

    If you upgraded from QT 6.x, then you have to buy a new key.

  • Disable prompt to save file after signing

    I have created a PDF with digital signatures, then added submit button to submit form to next approver in the chain.  I do not want the signer's to be prompted to save the file locally, just forward the document with signature.  Can the prompt to save be disabled yet still send email with signature?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    You need to update the numeric value: RunState.InitialSelection.SelectedFile.ChangeCount. Add 1 if a change in your edit has occured.

  • How to disable save Icon?

    We have a legal requirement in our bank that in our intranet site whatever document we show it should have save icon disabled? [thought there are lot if ways we can capture the contents of it even with save icon disabled]
    Is there any way of implementing the save icon disabled...I spent almost three hours with no result.... My coding will look like this
    int permissions = ~(PdfWriter.AllowPrinting | PdfWriter.AllowCopy | PdfWriter.AllowModifyAnnotations | PdfWriter.AllowFillIn | PdfWriter.AllowAssembly | PdfWriter.AllowModifyContents | PdfWriter.AllowScreenReaders);
    PdfEncryptor.encrypt(reader,fos,true,"","",permissions);

    I have pasted my code below
    We are creating a new pdf and applying permissions for that....
    I searched for more than two hours and couldn't find a way to disable save icon in the API we use
    com.lowagie.text.pdf.PdfEncryptor;
    com.lowagie.text.pdf.PdfReader;
    com.lowagie.text.pdf.PdfWriter; [you can paste this in google which will explain this API]
    I thought this as a constraint with this API, hence searching for other API's which has this feature...in most of the forums I saw implementing this as not possible....hence thought of checking in Adobe forum where people might suggest some other API...Please let me know whether this feature [if it is really a programmable feature] is available in API's you have used...Thanks Aandi Inston!
    byte[] documentBytes = document.getContentBytes(); //which will get the content of a pdf
    File newFile = File.createTempFile("tempPdfFile", ".tmp");
    FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream(newFile);
    reader = new PdfReader(documentBytes);
    int permissions = ~(PdfWriter.AllowPrinting | PdfWriter.AllowCopy | PdfWriter.AllowModifyAnnotations | PdfWriter.AllowFillIn | PdfWriter.AllowAssembly | PdfWriter.AllowModifyContents | PdfWriter.AllowScreenReaders);
