    How can I permanently save voice mails?

    It helps a lot to know what type of computer you are using.
    I use TouchCopy on Windows machines (they also have a Mac version but I have not used it).
    I use Phoneview on Macs.
    I would highly recommend either of them.

  • My incoming mail user .wav file doesn't play for incoming mails. It does work on local test.

    I have windows 7 Professional PC and use Mozilla Thunderbird 24.4.0 as my email account. I have a local .wav music file for incoming mail which tests OK, but when a new mail arrives it doesn't play. I have all the boxes ticked in the settings. Can anyone help please?

    An update on local .wav sound file for incoming TB mail messages.
    Driver Booster found outdated drivers and all have been updated.
    Sound device has been removed from the device manager and automatically re-installed.
    From advice given I have turned mail.imap.use_status_for_biff to "false".
    Still no sound from my local .wav file. Is my problem unique? Is 2.74 MB too large as a sound file?

  • Text to wav files - make it sound human voice?

    Hi, I have a program called text to wav, it lets you type in whatever you want to say (I'm doing this for a movie I'm puttiing together, creating voices for the "actors" b/c my actors aren't real people, they're to be human models created in 3DS max) in a text field (you have your pick of which voice to use, MS mike voice, MS sam voice, or MS mary voice), then you can save it as a wav file.
    Ok, i did this, and I've loaded it into audition (my version of audition is from adobe CS 2 suite) and I'm using the Adobe Audition classroom in a book for this version of audition to attempt to make this voice sound human, that is, more like a human's voice would sound, and so far, I think I'm getting the results I want in this wav file, but I'd like to upload it to this post so you guys can take a look at this file.
    how do I upload a wav file to adobe forums so I can receive help with it?
    i see the video upload link, i tried this, but it says to upload as a youtube file, and at this point i'm not too confortable with putting any of the audio files (created from text to wav) or video animation files (created from 3ds max) out on youtube/the internet yet, since my movie is not yet finished/burned on dvd for distribution at this time, so how do i do this so I can receive help with this audio file?
    my laptop is a dell xps m1530 running xp home sp3, 4 gigs ram, 1 TB hdd,
    thanks in advance.

    Ha Ha!
    You seriously think that Adobe would let you post an audio file on its audio software forum?
    Yeah, well we did too. Unfortunately the people who run the forum software don't seem to understand that (or a lot else that we've asked about), so you simply can't do it.
    Get a Dropbox basic account, put your file in the dropbox folder on your computer, right-click on it and find the public link, copy it and post that to the forum. The reason that I'm suggesting Dropbox specifically is that you just get a link to a file, and not to a load of download garbage that you get with other providers, which is a right PITA.

  • .WAV files no longer readable after Yosemite update

    The issue:
    I recently did the switch to Yosemite. I now find some .WAV files to be no longer readable through FCP X, Preview app, QT, etc. BUT, I can open them through VLC, and also Soundtrack Pro. The problem:
    An FCP X project with this .WAV files has already been edited, with multiple cuts (46 to be exact) throughout the 35 minute timeline. The file is still visible on timeline with all cuts but is now silent. Looking to relink that audio with a working file. The original files' timecode starts at 09:46:30:09, with 7 channels of audio. What I tried to do:
    Open in Soundtrack Pro and simply "Save as" a new .wav file. Still not readable. Then brought the original file in to a new Multitrack Project in Soundtrack Pro, exported to .wav, which is now readable by all programs, but cant be relinked since info are not matched (channel count and timecode) "Incompatible file.
    The original file and new file have different audio source and channel counts.
    Relinked files must have the same media type and similar audio channels as the original files, and must be long enough to cover all the clips that reference the files."
    My system:
    FCPX (10.1.3)
    OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) iMac (27 inch, Late 2012)
    3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
    32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB

    Thanks Martin. Thats just what I'm going to do. For the record, I have been dealing with Apple support concerning this issue for the last month. It's been a frustrating and exhaustive process and the outcomes has been underwhelming to say the least:
    It seems that under OSX Yosemite, Apple Core Audio , which plays audio in all the apple apps: QT, iTunes, FCPX, Logic Pro X etc, can no longer read multi-track WAV files larger than 2GBs. I tested this extensively myself, and the support staff member I was dealing with was able to re-create the problem at his end.
    Apps that do not use Core Audio CAN play the WAV files: QT7, Adobe Premiere, Audacity etc.
    Using this information the support member helping me escalated the issue to the Apple developers teams for both FCPX and OSX. He said he was really unimpressed by their response, and that while they acknowledged that there 'may' be an issue with Core Audio they didn't care enough to investigate it. He said that while a fix may come in the future there is no timeline for it to happen. He said he wasn't allowed to recommend that I downgrade, but he then rather embarrassingly admitted that I have no choice if I want to have a functioning project again.
    Which makes a mockery of my decision to use FCP over Premiere based on the assumption that Apple would better support their software. FCP has pretty much ****** me off right from the start with its babyish interface and glitchy behaviour. Now I have to downgrade my system to Mavericks, in order to limp to the finishing line with this edit, before I will be ridding myself of this junk for good.

  • .wav file error

    I'm not sure if the zip file contained the correct decryption sub VI, because I had to rewire the inputs, but I did get it to work.  If your version is correct and the decryption VI is wired up, check to make sure the file path to the .wav file is accurate.  When I ran it, the default value did not exist on my machine.  When I changed the path to another existing .wav file on my machine, I got no errors, and the filtered signal appeared as expected.  In case you were curious, here is the code that I updated.

  • Converting .wav files to .mp3 files in Adobe Audition 3

    I am trying to save a .wav file as an mp3. file.  When I go to Save As and click on file type/Mp3, it asks me if I want to overwrite the current .wav file.  When I say yes, it saves it as a .wav file.  How do get it to save as a .mp3 file?  I'm certain that there is an easy way to do this, but I'm missing it.  Any help from this knowledgeable forum would be most appreciated.
    thanks
    dk

    Next time you want to save as an MP3, type the full name of the file you want to save with the full extension in the file name box - so that would be {yourfile}.mp3. This will reset the default save to the correct extension.

  • Saving a linearised .wav file?

    I'm using imovie HD 6.0.
    When I save an audio file as a .wav, does it save as a linearised .wav file auotmatically, or do I have to make that change manually?

    i want the code for saving a vector to file, and then loading the file back into a vectorThen you'll have to write something like:
    void saveVector(Vector<SomeObject> vect, File someFile) {
        get output stream writer for someFile;
        for each object in vect {
            write object to stream;
        close stream writer;
    Vector loadVector(File someFile) {
        get BufferedReader for someFle;
        while read next line {
            parse line into object
            put object in vector
        close reader
    }You could also save your objects to XML (especially if your object has a lot of references to other classes)

  • Microphone needed for WAV file creation

    I need a Microphone for my iMac G5 to record a wav file. The source of the sound I want to record is a Verizon cell phone message. I want to record the message and save it as a WAV file, but I don't currently have a device like a Microphone to record sound on my iMac.
    My old G3 Beige Mic doesn't work on the G5. What product do I need?

    Depending on the model you might have a built-in microphone on your iMac.
    If you decide to use it make sure the room is very quiet. I had to turn off TV and chase my wonderful but very loud children into another room.
    Check and see.
    On mine if I go to System Preferences-Sound-Input look and see if it says anything about Internal Microphone. If so you are in luck.

  • Importing WAV file with Flash Cue Points Premiere Pro CS6

    I want to import a Japanese voice-over . WAV file which has Flash cue points marked in it so that I can clearly identify edit points on the video timeline when I import it into Premiere pro CS6.
    Or is there another way of getting a voice-over artist to mark up audio so that I can clearly identify when certain words or phrases have been spoken? Trouble is, Japanese characters mean nothing to me! Usually this is not a problem with European languages like French and German, as I can easily mark up the script with a highlighter as I can follow the voice over on the supplied script, but Japanese characters mean nothing to me.
    Please help.
    Many thanks.

    Premiere has a function now where you can import a clip and drag onto a timeline and it will prompt you with a message about changing the timeline settings to match your clip, (or if there is no timeline it will automatically create one that matches your clip.) This is in CC of course so you might consider upgrading. They have fixed a lot of compatibility issues from CS6 to now. If you don't want to get all of CC for 60/month then you can at least shell out 20/month on premiere. It's worth it. They've made it where you don't have to worry about 99% of all video formats. They just work.

  • How do I create MP3 files on my new iphone from old tmobil voice mail msgs?

    Hello! >>> iPhone master techies......... help~!~ I'm an "X" TMobil customer who recently switched to ATT and purchased an iPhone 3G. I forwarded 20 voice mail messages from my old TMobil phone to my husbands TMobil phone before having it disconnected and switching the sim card over, as salesman I bought phone from at ATT store said I'd lose them all if I didn't do this. They're ''THAT'' important to me to save, my grandbaby's messages, too dear to ever lose.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Question: I was told by a manager at an APPLE store "to turn the voice mail messages now on husbands tmobil phone into mp3 files", which could then be downloaded to my iphone [as sound bites??]. Does anyone know how this is done and if so, can you PLEASE tell me how to do this? If you need more of what the manager at Apple said to me, I'll continue with that, just ask.
    it's an iPhone specific question to me > regarding _my new_ iPhone.
    sorry if this wasn't the right place to put the inquiry but for a new person trying to figure this phone out, it's pretty confusing. I'd invite anyone to try to get info [from any number of sources] with any luck or help.
    having said all that, I thank you for this post, if nothing else, I can call them and see how much to have them do it. doesn't seem an unusual request should be pretty straight forward and easy to do if you're in the know, I am not.
  • Help in creating 3 voice .wav files from 1
    I am trying to use Audition to record news in just voice format.  I would like to record 1 track and then be able to split or cut/paste sections of the long track into 3 separate tracks to be saved as 3 separate .wav files.  How do I do this easily?
    As well, when I am recording, I make some mistakes along the way and would like to toggle off the recording, then toggle it back on at the point where I made a mistake and continue on, while leaving a marker at the spot where I made the mistake.  That way I can come back and edit the track where I made the mistakes, which could easily be found because of the markers.  I can't figure out how to do this.  Whenever I record a track and make a mistake, if I hit the spacebar, it stops the recording and goes back to the beginning of the track.  I don't want that.  I want to be able to stop the recording, then restart AT THAT SPOT moving forward with recording the rest of the track....then when I am finished, I can come back and edit the part where I made a mistake.  Help please?
    There are several different ways to do what you want in your first question and split tracks away.  Here's how I do this, but YMMV and you may prefer a different way suggested by somebody else.  First, very important, with a file like this, do not edit the only copy, because it's easy to screw up and save and close a file without realizing that you deleted critical material you still wanted. So start by going to File>Save Copy As and making a copy of the original file with a distinct name, and edit from there.  What I do is highlight the material I want to split away (dragging the mouse over it), then right-click the highlighted material, and click Save Selection (or File>Save Selection), then Cut to remove that fragment and continue editing what's left.  It's important to note that you want Save Selection, not Save; otherwise, it just resaves the entire file and not the highlighted selection.
    I don't have an answer to your question on how to save a marker in a specific spot.  I don't think Audition 1.5, which I'm working with, has that feature (though I've wanted that feature, too) but maybe AA3 does.  Somebody else will know.  What I do during playback that I'm allowing to continue is click on the graph to move the horizontal, dashed yellow line to a point I want to come back to, but that's only a temporary measure and one-of-a-kind, and I think you're looking for something more enduring and allowing multiple mark-ups, when there's only one of those start-point lines. The other thing I do is keep a list of approximate playback points with pencil and paper.
    Hitting the spacebar during playback is the equivalent of clicking the Stop button in the bottom left with your mouse.  This will reset playback to the cursor, as you saw.  Instead, you want to click the Pause button with your mouse.  Then you can hit the spacebar to resume playback where you paused, or click the Play arrow with the mouse (same thing).
  • When I save an e-mail as a file, it opens (seems stuck) to the same old one saved earlier. How do I unstick it?
    I use a MAC desktop and Thunderbird with latest update. Recently, when I've tried to open an e-mail that I saved earlier as a file with the .eml suffix, what opens is always the same unrelated e-mail that I saved earlier to an unrelated file. It seems stuck on that same unrelated e-mail, no matter what the file or what e-mail I intended to save. For example, I save (i.e., drop-down menu: Save As - File) an e-mail that I received regarding Topic A; then I go to the folder or file to which I saved it and locate the e-mail under the correct name in which I saved it; I double click and then click on Open; what always opens is an e-mail of a few months ago that I received from Bernie. It doesn't happen on my MAC Air laptop.
    Until recently, I've been able to save e-mails to files and folders by clicking "Save As" on the dropdown File menu. In the last few weeks, whenever I open any one of the many e-mails that I've saved over time as files, it doesn't open the e-mail that I'm trying to open. Instead, what opens up is always the same old email of a couple of months ago that has no relationship to the one I'm trying to open. Somehow, it's stuck on that same old e-mail. So, yes, your response is technically correct: (a) I open the message, and (b) I see what's in there. But what I always see is the same old unrelated e-mail message. My question is how do I get past that e-mail that it's stuck on to the e-mail that I saved but won't open up? Sorry to be such a pest.
