Save Wikipedia page as complete webpage is NOT complete.
Now before someone think I'm a complete moron, please, I know how to do that: "Save Page As... Web Page, complete". I know exactly how to do that.

I don't know when this exactly happened, i.e. what version of Firefox it occurred, but, now when I save Wikipedia page, it seems Javascript no longer work or saved.
Previously, when I mouse over to citation, it will pop-up a tooltip. Like this:

And when I click a scripted link, it expand or collapse as it should. Like this:

Note that, those image are saved webpages.
But now, they're gone.
The latest known saved webpage that work are dated on May 2013. Like I said before, I don't know which version was that.
Currently I'm using 32.0.3 and as far as I can remember, this problem happens since 29.0.
Last but not least, I think this happens only on Wikipedia. But I don't know either if this problem was Wikipedia's fault.
So.......
How is the workaround?
I really need these Wikipedia features.

It doesn't work for me either in both Firefox and in Google Chrome.
Both only show a link to the notes at the bottom of the pages when I hover such a link and no tooltip.
If it worked before then there has been a change in the page coding.
There is a lot of JavaScript running on the pages and some scripts are loaded via load.php calls and via document.write rules.

Probably the important thing to remember about .mhtml is that if other browsers do support it they may need addons, and may not necessarily render the content correctly/consistently.
There are FF addons designed for archiving webpages, you could try them, but that then assumes the recipient has the same software.
You could simply save the page from FF to your XP pc; then offline open it with and save it using IE, before then emailing using FF, and attaching the .mht or mhtml file that you have now created on your PC.
As an alternative method, in some cases it could be worth considering taking a screen grab of the required page, then sending that to the recipient as a single email attatchment using either a bitmap or jpeg file format for instance.
Something such as an airline booking may be designed with a print option, possibly it could be worthwile looking at sending the print file itself as an email attachment. -
how can I save a page and all its component parts in a single file, like IE does as an MHT?
It's much easier for mailing to people where page address not available?? (as in output from an airline booking site, for example)
It is simply too painful to have to zip everything up into a single file to send. MHT format has been available for years now from IE, and with every new FF release it's the first thing I look for. I have been using FF for years, and hate having to come out of it, over into IE |(which I even took out of startup) and key everything in again, in order to send somebody something in a convenient format that they can open with a single click.
I can't believe this hasn't been asked before, so have you looked at it and rejected it? Have MS kept the file format secret?

Firefox v. 30 won't save a page as "Web page, complete" -- NEVER
I tried to save a page as "Web page, complete" in v. 30. It used to work in v. 29. Now it never saves the original. It used to say in the Downloads list, when I did save a file, that it failed. I learned to ignore that, because the first time I would save a file, as "web page, complete," it did get listed in Windows explorer and I could open it up in Firefox and see it, looking close to the same way I saw it originally (some words are on a new line, and images are smaller).
It is most critical when I want to save a list of the journal articles I download, along with images of the check off boxes having a check mark. In v. 29, they were there. If I saved the saved page again, after checking off more boxes, it wouldn't save it but it wouldn't tell me so, either. I would have to always keep an eye on the directory listing in Windows Explorer. I learned to just save it again, and it would be saved. However, now in v. 30 it NEVER saves the main htm page of this ORIGINAL web page when I save it with the option "web page, complete," but it does save the "_files" folder for ancillary images. I now have to save the original web page as file type: "files, all," putting in the .htm as file extension. I then open it up in firefox, and none of the boxes are checked as they were in the original. So I have to recheck all the boxes again and then save it as "web page, complete". This time, the "web page, complete" works, but clearly not on the original web page. The resulting file looks like the page that got saved with the "files,all" option I saved before, but now the boxes I checked off are still checked off. I get the web page back, but not looking much like it was originally, and only after a great deal of work.
I am using Firefox 30 on XPI appreciate your thought on this problem. Yes, all journal database searches use the same algorithm but there is something in common to all which is not present in many other kinds of web pages, e.g. PubMed abstracts or pages with just an abstract, or blog posts or news stories -- the boxes to check off (e.g. to list all abstracts and citations for the ones you choose) and the listings of links to abstracts, pdfs, supplements, etc. posted with each article description (see searches by Oxford University Press http://rspb.royalsocietypublishing.org/search and by Sage http://online.sagepub.com/search ). The links and empty check boxes get printed on the "save page" result, but any check boxes you checked off lose the check after saving the page as a "Web page, complete."
That was not the case in v. 29. In most of the past Firefox versions, the resulting page saved does not look like the original one, because of the realignment of text and links. However, now, the functionality of those saved pages is seriously compromise. Worse, there are no images. I could tolerate what v. 29 did, but not what 30 is doing.
I just found out that although the downloads tool window list of titles that appears after you tried to save a page always lists the attempt as having "Failed", you can succeed in completing some files when you click on its name in the list. Usually, as I said in the past, you just try again and it saved in version pre-28 (I think). But as I mentioned before you can't trust what the downloads tool tells you. In the past it actually finally, after another attempt, saved the page despite telling you it failed in that window. I click on the "failed" download now and it does download, but is missing any of the list of articles found on the original web page, so certainly, the result is not what you were aiming for with the "Save", "Web page, complete" choice. The main point here is that there are no check boxes, empty or filled at all in an attempt to use "Web page, complete" option in the "Save" choice for any journal database search. I can only conclude that "Web page, complete" doesn't work for journal article searches.
The main reason for keeping a web page functionality in a "save web page" option is to be able to work on it offline. I can copy the information about specific articles I downloaded to enter into my own Reference Manager program, along with the relevant links. I can carry this web page with me to a university where I can download the article without having to run a search all over again, with the strong possibility that it won't give me all the same results as I just got at home, losing some articles I really wanted to get. Saving a web page tells me what I was interested in to begin with, which gets lost if the boxes I checked off are not in what I can save. -
Hi, I'm making hyperlinks. They work for the main page of the webpage, but when I'm trying to redirect the hyperlink to a "sub page" of the webpage it is still going to the main page. (allthough I'm pasting the complete url address)

Where says URL I paste the complete address that the "sub page" gives me.

I log in as her to download a Pages doc, edit, then save to iCloud again but it does not save to hers. Even if I'm logged in as her.

It's not being auto saved.
I typically save to both pages and document files but I can't save anything. When I go to close it and it asks me if I want to save, the save window comes up but the SAVE button isn't bolded as an option. I have tried Command C but of course it brings me back to the same window. This only began happening a few days ago. I use Pages a lot.

I keep getting this error when I Save for Web & Devices: The operation could not be completed.
I have saved for the web before for many more complex, larger images without a hitch.
I am using a psd format with an image that I designed. It is no more complex than others I have done. It is small, just a horizontal navbar about the size of the one on Apple's website.
I tried exporting it, flattening it, slicing it removing the slices.
I think it is a problem with the application itself.
I have tried repairing my permissions, restarting, and holding Cmd, Opt, Control, Shift during PS startup to reset the settings. Any insight would be appreciated.GoodLuck4287-sxcElh wrote:

I used to be able to save a page from my email (both hotmail and gmail). I an no longer save a page from Firefox of my email. It will save a page on a website visited. It does save a page and files but is unopenable.
First off, this is a public forum, so anyone can see your e-mail address (Could an admin snip it?)
The .js file by itself is not a website and is just used to hold Javascript code.
You are looking for a .html file to open (probably named index.html), otherwise you do not have the full site. -

I am trying to set up my daughter's iTouch. I am connected to our Wi-Fi, and have confirmed this in Settings, but when we try and open any webpage we receive the message that page cannot be opened because not connected to the Internet. I have already re-set the iPod, have shut-down and restarted, and told the iPod to "Forget Network". please help - i am going bananas!
