SaveAs Document Failed ... Deski document being saved to Favourites folder in Webi

Post Author: amcc
CA Forum: Administration
I have been unable to work out what access right is needed for Webi users to be able to save a Deski document to their Favourites folder.  We have some migrated documents containing features that will not convert to Webi so have had to allow access to the Deski documents in the repository.  Anyone in the Administrators group can successfully save the Deski documents but other users cannot and get the message:
SaveAs Document Failed (80043761)
The same group of users can view and refresh the document without any problem.  They can also use 'Save to my computer as' without any problem.
For an example group of users they have:
1. View on Demand set on the universe2. View on Demand set on the universe connection3. View on Demand set on the folder containing the document4. Log on to Desktop Intelligence and view this object in the CMC set for the Desktop Intelligence application5. Save Desktop Intelligence Documents set for the Desktop Intelligence application6. Full Control of their Favourites folder.
I've even tried changing the View on Demand settings to Full Control but it made no difference.
What have I missed?

Hi all,
Even I have faced this problem, but the scenario is little different here.
I have a deski publication report , which run sucessfully evry day but once in a while fails giving this error.
SaveDocumentAs failed (80042908)
When we run this report again it run fine.
I am really wondered why this is happpening.
Any suggestions on this. Thanks in advance.

  • 1000 folders called (A Document Being Saved By Illustrator) in my trash

upon restarting my mac, i found a "Recovered Files" folder in the trash. in it were 1000 folders called (A Document Being Saved By Illustrator). all were empty, save one that had two folders w/in it. is this anything to worry about? i'm on 10.10.1 and the most recent version of AI.
i work in a networked office, used to use smb to connect to the servers, we had many kernel panics. we now use CIFS to connect and that seems better.

These will occasionally show up when updating a system and repairing a drive in Disk Utility. You can remove it safely if it doesn't contain anything familiar to you.

  • Scanned document being saved at large size...

I am scanning a normal 8.5 X 11 in document into a pdf.  But when I open the document it looks normal till I notice the visible percentage window value, it says 22.7% and its set to 'Fit Visible'.  It seems to be saving it at the size of '35.42 X 48.71' inches.  I guess my questions are:
Where do I need to look to scan it 'normally'
    and
Is there a way to re-size a 'gigantic' pdf down to a size of 8.5 X 11 inches?
    Jason

I would start by looking at the scanner settings directly, not at Acrobat. From the scan screen in Acrobat you should also have a settings tab that might give you further information. You likely have a default set some place that is causing the problem.

  • Save Output to: setting not being saved

This has been driving me nuts for a couple of years, so I figured I'd finally ask if anyone else sees this behavior.
My script grabs a PDF and converts each page to new, separate, PDF files using a custom name and number. There are three components: Ask for Finder Items, PDF to Images, and Make Finder Item Names Sequential.
My problem appears in the PDF to Images part. I have the "Save Output to:" setting set to a folder ON my desktop (Outbox). Every time I open the script it has reverted to "Save Output to: Desktop". I can change it, run the script from within Automator, and it works fine. If I save it (or save-as), when I next open the script, it will have reverted to Desktop. I have tried every iteration I can think of to get it to remember to store the files in the correct folder, but it just won't save this setting.
I am in the habit of just opening the script first, and changing the setting, then running the script before I have closed it, so this is no big deal -- but it does make it two more steps, which kinda defeats the whole purpose of automator.

Understood, but you mentioned scripts and AppleScript is used extensively with workflows. If there aren't any in yours, then all I can suggest is peruse http://www.automatedworkflows.com/tips/podcast.html
Also, see http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2039384 and Introduction to Automator tutorial at http://automator.us/leopard/video/index.html

  • An error occurred: Save document failed / An error occurred while saving the document: PATH (HDB 00055)

Hello Colleagues, I am creating an analysis in build 576, everything goes well, the algorithm calculates the needed values, but when I try to save the analysis, I receive the following error message: "An error occurred: Save document failed / An error occurred while saving the document: <PATH> (HDB 00055)".
Does anyone know what could cause this error message?
Thanks a lot for any hint.
    Sergey

    Hi Henry,
I am using PA 1.0.11 and received this error; any update on this fix for SAP PA. Does this happen for a particular data source.
I am currently using Excel as source and whenever I try to use this data; I get this even if I move the data to a new file or rename a file. I tried to check the same issue with a different file and it works fine. This file worked fine a day back.
Please let me know if this is unusual for this version.

  • "Save As failed to process this document. No file was created." Error trying to convert pdf to word document

Hi - I have a pdf created from indesign as a print quality pdf. The client now wanted to text in an editable format so they can reuse the content for a new years event.
I get an error message "Save As failed to process this document. No file was created."
Can anyone help out here?  There are a lot of graphics in it and it is horizontal - could any of this be an issue?
    Thanks
    Nikola

Totally agree. Saving the pdf as a word file gives it the look of a word file, until corrections have to be made. The text flow will be, so to say, "strange". Reusing that file in Indesign ...
We always save as rtf, send that one back and relink it afterwards (as long as the styles stay the same, only smaller corrections have to be made.

  • " FAILED TO SAVE DOCUMENT"   " NOT SUPPORTED"

I have a Crystal Report that I have worked on for serveral hours and that I have saved throughout the day; however, when I try to save it now, I get the following error:
" FAILED TO SAVE DOCUMENT"   I hit OK and then the following appears.
      " NOT SUPPORTED"
I am not able to save it anywhere or rename it.
Has this happened to anyone else?

    Hello,
Typically when you get permission issue it's due to file system permissions, registry permissions or even WEB access. Open up Crystal Designer and check off the option for updates. Firewalls and anti-virus software can cause access issues also. This is not a CR issue but some permission problem and there can be many sources causing Cr to fail like this. Depending on the OS it can also be read/write permissions on the folder you are trying to save to.
Make sure you are a local PC administrator and have full rights to install software. If you have an IT department check with them to verify they have not pushed out Profile updates to modify your permissions, you may be an Administrator but IT may have altered the default permissions.
There are also install issues affected by DEP, Firewall and Anti-virus software, thus the warning about disabling all applications when installing. Quite often also doing a Repair install from Add/Remove programs will resolve issues, in your case Disconnect from the network by disabling your network card and then stop the firewall and and Anti-V then do a repair install.
Now test your report by saving it locally, do not save it to a network share and see if that works. If it does then start up your firewall and anti-V and then re-connect to your network and test again. If it now fails look at configuring those security suits to allow CR full access to the network, system resources and WEB.
Removed registry to clean up formatting:
Other tools are ProcessMonitor, add crw32.exe to the filter and then when you try to save the report watch the logs to see what Access Denied notes are logged. This should tell what you need to add to your system to get full access.
There are 1000's of users who do not have this problem and only a few who do so it's not likely a CR issue.
    Thank you again
    Don

    Hello Michael,
Thank you for your response.  My operating system is XP.  When I try to open a pfd document I just get a series of letters and symbols in a dialog box.  The top of the box says "select the encoding that makes your document readable".  I can choose Windows, MS-Dos, or other (there is a long list to choose from).  None seem to make a difference.  If I save the document to my desk top I can right click on it and choose an option "Open with  AdobeReader 9" and it opens fine.
    Thank you,

    Hello:
What operating system does your computer use? What happens when you attempt to open a PDF document rather than saving it first? Please include any/all error messages. Also, have you tried opening documents from other locations or just one in particular?
    Thanks,

  • SaveAs Document Failed (80043768)

Can anyone explain why this error is occurring?
A user is trying to save a Deski doc to their favourites folder.  According to BusinessObjects Notes, it says this error message is generated when the user has insufficient rights to the category.  This particular doc in the repository is saved with the corporate category 'Planning' and when trying to save it to the favorites folder, the Planning corporate category remains ticked.  However, other Webi documents in the same folder are also in this category and the user can save those to their favorites folder with the corporate category Planning ticked without any problem.  So why can you use the category for Webi documents but not for Deski documents?  Or isn't it as simple as that?  Is there some other complication?

    Hi Anne,
    Try this:
    1. In the CMC, click on BusinessObjects Enterprise Applications
    2. Select Desktop Intelligence
    3. Add the Users/Group
    4. Click on Advanced and modify the following right for Desktop Intelligence:
        - Save Desktop Intelligence Documents: "Explicitly Granted"
You may need to grant access on other rights if the issue persists.

    Jeff

  • Adobe document automatically opens after being saved

I utilize Google Chrome on a Microsoft Vista platform.  Each time I save a document as a PDF it automatically opens in Adobe Reader. Is there a way to disable this feature?

Sorry if there is some confusion on my part.  I am using Office 2007 and after creating an Excel document I choose the "save as" option, which offers dozens of formats with one being simply "PDF."  After the document is saved in this PDF format, Adobe Reader opens the document in the Adobe program. I am using the free Adobe Reader program, version 10.1.8

Set Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. When I want to save the file in WORD, EXCEL or esporta file into ... immediately throws an error "save as failed to process this document no file was created".
    What's the problem?
Any help in finding a solution is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,

Installed AcrobatXI PRO 11.0.09  on seven computers and laptops. Two of them gives an error when you try to save a document in WORD, EXCEL, Power Point, or when exporting to... error: Save failed to process this document. No File was created.
But all good saves in the format of TXT and jpg.
I have uninstalled and restored and re-installed and updated and registry cleaned and removed using the special utility Cleaner Tool for Acrobat, but nothing helps.
On one notebook with Windows 8.1 and Microsoft office 2013, on another laptop with Windows 7 and Microsoft office 2010, the same problem, although there are computers with Windows 7 and Microsoft office 2010 and everything works.
Tell me where to find the problem and how to solve it.
    Thank you.
