Saved audio in ALU, though loop not appearing in loops browser

I am following David Dvorin's Beyond the Basics and am up to the part about Apple Loops Utility.
In it he uses an imported audio file called Chimey Guitar, the whole point is to use ALU, use its functions and then save it as an Apple Loop.
When I have saved, it doesn't seem to be in the loops browser, it's not there.
I followed the instructions fine.
Any feedback would be great

I see what you mean, I located it in the Finder menu and then added/dragged it to the loops browser (no probs). In the finder menu it had it down as an Apple Loop in the 'kind' column, but I suppose you have to actually drag it over to get it in the loops menu?
In the loops browser it had the bpm as 120 (this was the original bpm of Dvorin's file/loop), though in the exercise we change the bpm to 110 on the bpm slider and pressed save. Shouldn't the loop say 110bpm in the loops browser? Considering that it is an Apple loop does it even matter?
You've lead me on to something else here, whats the difference between using the APU or using the route of Region > Add to Apple Loops Library? (I understand that APU is for audio).
Is APU more detailed, in the sense that you can do transients? (I read the ALU manual theres a bit of stuff about Soundtrack Pro (which I don't use)).
Do you ever use APU?
Anyway, its most appreciated that you got back!
Logic and its ways are all falling into place its just these itsy bitsy Logic things.

Loops not appearing in loop browser, why?

I just got a new 20 inch iMac. I used Migration Assistant to help transfer the contents of my old G3 iMac DV SE from 2000. I was not running Garage Band on that computer.
When I open up GarageBand on my new computer and then click on the loop browser, it gives me a dialog box that says something like: "No Apple Loops found. Please reinstall... yada yada." So, then I looked at a GarageBand article and saw that you can drag the loops into the browser. Well, I found a folder on my hard drive that said "Apple Loops" and it has 1,198 .aif files in it and dragged them into the browser. The progress bar said that it was importing the loops. Then when it was done, the loops were still not in the browser and it gave me the same "No Apple Loops found" box. What is going on?
I had Final Cut Express preinstalled at the factory when I ordered this iMac. There is another folder with Soundtrack Loops. Could this be affecting GarageBand?
I just want to get my loops into the loop browser. How do I do this?
Also, I got discs that have the OS X reinstall on them, and Final Cut Express reinstall, but none with iLife. Was I supposed to get that disc too since it was preinstalled?

Why do my 3rd party loops not appear in the "Loop" tab?

I have saved some Magix wav loops into the local apple users directory of Logic Express and though I can find them using the media browser they do not appear in the loops tab listing.
Does anybody know the cure for this?

If you drag your .wav loops into the arrange area do they function properly? If not, you may need to convert them using Apple Loops Utility. After doing that you can drag the folder with the .aiff conversions onto your loops tab to import them.

Contacts saved from messages and calls do not appear in contacts?

Hi, I've been having a problem with my contacts recently. Ever since I got my phone, I saved a few important contacts, however received messages and calls off people who were not in my contacts. I saved these from the messages, and calls but none of these saved contacts have appeared in the contacts app. It's really very frustrating. The contacts have been saved into my phone, as I can find them under spotlight search and in recent calls etc, they just do not appear in my contacts app. Can anyone help me sort this frustrating issue out? I'm on an iPhone 5c, under the updated software

IPhoto images will not appear in Media browser

After updating my iLife apps (iLife '09), iPhoto images no longer appear in my media browser. In iMovie, it just says "Loading iPhoto Images", but never does. I am using a Macbook with OS X 10.5.8 and 2 GB memory. Images will not appear in iDVD either. Anyone have any thoughts?

Do you still have the old library? Rebuilding it with iPhoto Library Manager would preserve most of your work.
This will creates a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Rather than attaching only the html page, can you upload to a server and give us a link?
How did you add the new menu item? Did you use the Properties Inspector after clicking on the blue tab of the SpryMenuBarHorizontal in the Design View? Or did you just type it into the code.
If you just typed it into the code, check to make sure that the appropriate classes are added (imitate one of the other menu/list items), because the new item won't function properly without them. No harm in typing them in yourself.

Pop-up after saving invoice in MIRO/MIR7 does not appear during replay

Hello All,
I have a problem with the execution of the eCATT Script for Transaction MIRO and MIR7. After the document is saved/posted in MIRO we get a pop-up with the FI document number and a few other information. While recording, i am able to get this pop-up. But while i replay, the script stops in the step where i press save and the document number is displayed in the status bar.
Normally this would not be a problem as i will be able to check for the document number from the corresponding table. But in one scenario where i have to park an incoming invoice using MIR7, i need to specify the department at the end. This step occurs as a pop-up after i press save similar to the pop-up with the document numbers. Now, if i do not specify the department, subsequent steps in my process will fail. I am unable to find an alternative for this.
Has anyone faced this issue while replaying MIR7/MIRO? Please help,

Movie does not appear in Media Browser

I attempted to share a large movie file via Media Browser. It's about two hours of photos, movies and music. My iMac spent about 8 hours rendering (not sure if that's the correct word) overnight. All appeared well this morning, but in the Med Browser it says my movie has not been prepared for sharing. In the iMovie Projects folder, I displayed Package Contents. The folder within that for Movies had no apparent content though the Get Info shows it to be 11+ GB.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Note it ends by saying "A QuickTime file that references your Final Cut Pro movie is created on your hard disk. This is the file you will add to your iDVD project. When you are ready to add it to your iDVD project, you can simply drag the file from your hard disk directly into iDVD. "
It also applies to Final Cut Express.
That's what you need to do - drag the file from your hard disk directly into iDVD

Why does the audio in my .SWF file not play in a Browser?

I created an .swf file using ffmpeg, containing H.264 video and MP3 audio. The file plays perfectly in VLC but not in a Browser (Chrome/IE). I tried analyzing the file using a trial version of Flash decompiler. Again, only the video plays. The strange thing is that if I extract the MP3 from the file, it plays perfectly using any of th eplayers. It seems to be a muxing issue which VLC apparently handles, but not the player in the browser! Why? Thanks for any pointers.

Yeah. Sorry to say this but many people buy the various brands of format converters, which are everywhere on the Web and which also spam these boards – and often find they are not only out the purchase price but that the app created as many problems as it solved.

Home Page Views in our High Interactivity FINS Application are not being added to the IE6 Browser History.

I am able to get it to appear in the history if I do About View...

You CAN'T download Flash Player ActiveX for Win 8 from here. There's a Windows Update KB patch that prevents it.

Right Side Red Line will not appear for full browser width.

I had my top navigational bar set up to fill in a 100% browser width. Now, only the left side red line will appear and the right side will not work.

Ah, I understand now. Menus will stretch to 100% browser width in terms of any background applied to the top level Menu widget, but the actual items will not be stretched or fitted at the moment. I'd recommend adding that to our ideas section so that others can vote on it. It would also help if you clarify what you'd expect. Would you want the menu items to grow, or the space between them? And what would you expect if one of the menu items became too long for the container? Should the text wrap, or should it not be able to get smaller than that?

Site not appearing correctly on browser or on iPhone

I have a site - http://www.amsivertson.com - if you go to the "photography" page, you'll see my problem. (tested in current versions of Firefox & Safari and on iPhone 3G)
1.The text on the site can't be selected in order to copy/paste
2.Try clicking and dragging on it and you'll see it follow your cursor as if it's an image -- and sometimes you'll notice it loads progressively like an image as well
3. if you view it on an iPhone, all that appears are the first couple of headings, and then only the links - no other text - it actually appears as a large empty square - like an image that isn't fully downloaded - but any links appear where they should and function correctly.
Any thoughts?

1 - the reason the text box has been converted to a png file is possible caused by using non-web safe fonts, a drop shadow or some other enhancement to the text or box itself. Open iWeb's preferences and check the option to show text imaging indicator. Then any text box which will be changed will show this:
Also consider using only Web Safe Fonts which will make viewing of your site on other platforms more uniform.
2 - can't help you much with the iPhone issue but set the page width to 980 which is the iPhone's width in pixels. Any thing less causes problems I'm told.

The bookmarks button does not appear in my browser

The button is supposed to be next to the home button, but it is not there

You only see that button on the Navigation Toolbar if the Menu bar is hidden (View > Toolbars).
If the Bookmarks Toolbar is visible then the button is displayed on that toolbar.
Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the Menu Bar is hidden.

Some images do not appear in Nokia browser. 5630, ...

Hi 2 all,
I've got a problem with some images that do not showing up in Nokia browser. This is a major problem that randomly occurs with different Nokia handsets.
Please check the .html page in the attachment.
If you open the page in PC browser, you'll see "border" image, but if it's opened on Nokia 5630 (or E71, N95) page is blank.
It would be great if you could suggest any workaround for this.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I'm using a new Wordpress theme that is meant to be responsive. The large image is for a header, than you scroll down to see the rest, one by one. Some one the pages work OK on my iPad, typically the old ones where the maximum image size was 500 x 500. It's the new pages and those I've updated that are causing the problem. On the iPad the large image loads, then a couple of the small ones become visible as I scroll down, but then darkness (rather like my knowledge level).
Being new to IOS and iPads, I'm trying to work out whether I should be looking here, or amongst the Wordpress stuff for a solution.

Aperture library does not appear in Photos browser of FCPX. Why?

I can't figure out how to make FCPX photo browser to show my Aperture library. Apple support tells: open photo browser and you will see all your aperture libraries. But my photo browser is empty. I searched the web, this forum and did not find the answer. Any suggestions?
