Saved jpg image has magenta hue in browser - help please

Hi, folks:
[running photoshop cs3 under windows XP Pro/SP2]
I've been saving jpg files for years with no problems. Now I have one that has me stumped!
I have a psd file with about 14 layers, a few of which are hidden. I merge layers and then save as a high-resolution jpg. I then open up the jpg in photoshop and it looks just fine.
However, when viewed directly from my pc in a browser (MSIE 7 or Firefox 3.0.3, either stand-alone or in an html shell), the image has a discernable dark magenta hue.
Originally, I mistakenly had an extra channel in the PSD file that I thought was causing the problem. But it's removed yet the problem remains.
Note: I also saved as a GIF and PNG and the problem remained.
I'm really stuck on this one. Help would be appreciated!

FOUND A SOLUTION - CHANGED ICC COLOR PROFILE
Well, folks, I've answered my own question. The problem *was* the ICC Color profile, contrary to what tech support told me in the past (and indeed tech support pretty much told me to go take a hike in the past).
I opened the PSD, then went to file->Edit-> Convert to profile and converted to profile sRGB IEC61966-2.1 and told not to merge layers. Then I saved as a jpg and the image was perfect.
Lesson learned (no thanks to Adobe Support): when importing video frames, change the ICC Profile!
Now for the biggest laugh of the day: he said (in case#180459305) that if you copy or rename files using the filesystem filemanager (e.g., the desktop or windows explorer), that it would open the file to copy or rename it and then rewrite it, thus cause lossy image degradation.
I told him (politely) that he was wrong - that renaming a file does not open it - it simply updates directory information about the file, and that copying a file (outside of photoshop) does a byte-for-byte clone of the file and does not degrade image quality.
Where do they get these purported "experts"????

The camera roll is not part of the sync process at all.
You should be importing these photos to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera. Youc an organize them on your computer and sync the to the iphone if you wish.
The photos sync from the computer to the iphone is one way.
The iphone mirrors the selected content of the computer to which it is synced.

- You can only sync an iPod to one iTunes library/computer. You can however, manually manage music and videos among different libraries.
Go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions.

Saving jpg images from mail to iPhoto

To save a jpeg image from Mail to iPhoto does no longer work. When you in Mail click the small save button, next to the attachment count , and command Save to iPhoto, the jpeg does not come up in iPhot as supposed ! This worked fine previoulsy but apparently due to some of the updates now

I downloaded a jpeg image from shutterstock.com to use for my baby shower invitation and was told that I would be able to erase the example text and add my own using adobe illustrator but having a hard time figuring this out. Please help.

You were mislead. Text in a flattened raster image (your JPEG) is essentially "burned in" and not editable or erasable in Illustrator. It is true that you could set type over (in front of) an image with Illustrator.
It may be possible to achieve the end result you want, but without seeing the image, it would be difficult to tell you how to proceed. Can you post a screenshot?

For the last 2 (maybe 3) updates iTunes has been showing my MUSIC LIBARY in a GRID of IMAGES with small caption below each image (usually an empty grey box, but occasionally tje front cover of album). It is a BIG waste of time to look at, go through and find any of my many hundreds of items.

Hey there, i was wondering if it is possible to view flash files in websites, such as those found on many funny websites like albinoblacksheep, mousebreaker etc,.. i was also wondering if it was possible to view video clips that would normally open in real player or windows media player.
Currently whenever i try to view one of these i just get a little picture of some kind of blue boat in the browser, i have no idea what this is. I do not have much experience of this phone i know it is new and i have read the instructions.
Is there a program or app i would need to view this kind of media from the internet?

There is no "full" Flash support in the N80, I'm afraid. It only supports Flash-Lite, which is a subset that is not used on websites.
Unfortunately, there also isn't any additional apps or browser "plug-in's" for complete Flash support, either.
One reason is that your phone is quite a bit less powerful and with much less memory than what a typical PC has.

Spry gallery - image link to url and autostart help please

Can anyone help with:
1) autostart the gallery
2) click on full size image to go to a url
Both questions are for image gallery example

Also, to click an image an goto a url -I know the url should
be in the photos.xml files but I could really use details on how to
add to the html file, or would it be better handled with a
gallery.js function?

The reason why it might not work on load is because you need
to wait until the thumbnail region has been generated.
Look for this line in gallery.js:
setTimeout(function() { ShowCurrentImage(); }, 100);
and change it to:
setTimeout(function() { ShowCurrentImage(); StartSlideShow();
}, 100);
We really shouldn't need to use timers anymore to do all of
this, but I didn't get a chance to update the gallery demo to use
some of the new things we added for preview release 1.1. It will be
cleaned up in the next release.
As for going to a URL, if you're going to wrap the main image
with a link, you'll have to modify SetMainImage() in gallery.js to
account for the change in parent hierarchy.
You'll probably have to add some code in SetMainImage() to
update the href of the link to point to the specific url for that
image.

when you look in the library you can select all images used including background graphics (screen shots) and there is a picture of a pencil that says edit.
Mine opens fireworks. Is this the default image editor or can I change this to photoshop & where do I do that ?

Just a heads up on this. You may discover that after you configure the editor, Captivate may appear to lose track of it. I say this because if you edit later, you may still find that Fireworks or whatever still opens.
What causes this is that Captivate allows you to work with different image formats. PNG, BMP, JPG, GIF, etc. Each of these types may have its own editor associated. So you might edit a GIF and see FireWorks open. But if you edit a JPG, you could see Photoshop open.

Opening images in PS4 from LR3. Help please!

I've been noticing lately that when I work on an image in Lightroom 3.6 and then open it in Photoshop CS4, it's much darker and much less detail in the shadows. I open them in PS as sRGB and I have my colour settings as 'Web/Internet', so they should match, no?

photoshop reads a source image's embedded profile (or assigns its working default profile) and converts it to the monitor profile
not sure about lightroom,
but you need to get a working knowledge of how your apps deal with tagged and untagged images, and what default profile they apply to untagged or unmanaged images
i suspect your photoshop workflow is stripping the ICC profile when you are saving for the web (or some other step in your work flow) and the difference you are seeing is the different profiles being applied (for all pratical purposes)

We have just purchased Apple TV and can't connect to Home Sharing. We have wifi, the iPad is updated. I can't find the link on ITunes on the iPad that the tv is telling me to click. I've also tried turning it on via settings then music which seems to be connected. I can view YouTube clicks on the tv, but not an app so I can watch the footy. What am I doing wrong.

Make sure your Apple TV is on the same network as your iPad. The SSID and password of router must be set in your Apple TV.

How to get background image in cell not to repeat help please.

hi folks,
i want to fill a cell with a background image and not have
the image repeat if the cell is resized by a viewer by enlarging
the text. (Previously i jsut used CSS to control the text, so it
couldn't be rezied, but now it seems that firefox ignores the CSS).
ANyway i would like people not to be able to resize the cell and
the background not to repeat.
Here is an example that when the text is resized the
background image and cell saty the same but a scroll bar appears
for the text.
