Saved Messages Data Increasing...

Hey  guys.
A lot of people have posted the same thing as I am posting now; but I have a few questions that I need answered pertaining to this.
Since I installed iOS 7, I've watched my usage data increase with Messages. From 10kb to 10mb, and now it's at nearly one gigabytes of message data. I need a way to clear all this; as the temporary files are quite aggravating, and I also want to know why Apple is saving our messages. It seems rather suspect.

Generally they don't disappear as such.  Depending on the developer of the theme the folder could have been moved or hidden.
Menu>Show all and search folder by folder.
If you had changed the icons and "lost" where the saved messages folder was within the theme you have active you can from the Applications screen
Menu>Options>Themes Default>Icon Arrangement and check it. Save and exit.  All your icons will be reset to the theme default and you will lose any customization of that theme you had established.
The saved messages icon didn't "go" anywhere....

  • How do I get rid of saved messages data on my phone?

I have an iPhone that only has 8gb and I'm in desperate need of space until I'm able to upgrade. When I look at Usage, it says I have 1.8gb of saved messages. I deleted all the threads and rebooted but the data hasn't gone away. I also have a MacBook that saves the message data (which I want) so why is my phone saying the data is still stored on my phone? How can I get the data off my phone and can I do it and still keep the messages on my MacBook? Thanks!

This is covered in the User's Guide along with all other basic functionality.
Press and hold the home and power buttons for 15-20 seconds until the white Apple logo appears.

  • How to get rid of saved message data

so i have 1.8 gigs of "messages (saved)" under my usage. i have deleted all the messages but as soon as i open the messages back up, they are right back there. I have also tried deleting and then rebooting; deleting and hard reboot; and delete then backup. All have failed and i end up with the same amount of data taken up by this "messages (saved)" category.
I would truly appreciate any help you could provide.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

  • Error Message: Data from Business Add-In ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST not transferred

    Hi All,
I have done a BADI implementation for ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST and when I try to convert a PR to PO using ME59N in ECC u2013 AFS System I am getting below error message.
Data from Business Add-In ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST not transferred.
I am trying to populate certain PO fields ( ekko and ekpo ) from PR fields. But the above error occurs when I update the Ex Factory Date manual that is EKPO-J_3AEXFCM.
I am updating this in the method PROCESS_ITEM and what I found while debugging is in the class CL_PO_HEADER_HANDLE_MM, in the implementation of IF_FLUSH_TRANSPORT_MM~START, the contents of field u2018my_iteration_countu2019 keeps increasing and becomes 10 and raises this error.
I read few of the related questions raised by others in this forum and understood that this can happen if I try to change the field that is disabled ( greyed) in ME22N. But this field that I am talking about is enabled.
I also tried to move my code of populating the field EKPO-J_3AEXFCM from the PROCESS_ITEM to the enhancement point just above the user exit EXIT_SAPMMO6E_018 but still it doesnu2019t resolve the error.
(We donu2019t want to use User Exit and hence we are trying with BADIs or enhancement point.)
Can anyone please help me with this. I also found an OSS note 1334046 but not sure if that can resolve my issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Ameesha.

    Hi Ameesha,
i think u need to implement the BADI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST in SPRO settings.
SPRO>Purchasing>Business Add-in Purchasing-->BAdI: Enhance Processing of Enjoy Purchase Order
    try this once.
    All check this link.
    [Error Message: Data from Business Add-In ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST not transferred;
    Hope it helps.

  • I have cleared all apps from my ipad.  How do yo get rid of calendars and delete saved messages which is taking all mt storagw

I have cleared all apps but still not able to download a rented movie.  The only spot where I have data stored is in saved messages andd calendars.  Cannot find the saved messages and cannot delete calendars. Any other suggestions because this was a very stupid purchase if you only have enough storage for the standard apps.

Go to: Settings>General>Usage>and see what is eating up all of your memory. After you find what is eating up most of your memory just delete it thru:Settings>General>Usage. I would not think your calendars and messages would take up all of your memory.
    Cheers,

  • Not Saved Message pop-up in OA FrameWork Screens

    Hi,
In some of the iProc OAF Pages, If we give some data and with out saving the data when we try navigate other tab, it is popping up messange as "The changes made to this page have not beed saved. If you continue, the changes will be discarded. Do you wish to continue". Is this messange OA Framework provided messange or do we need to write the logic for popping up unsaved data message?
    Thanks,

This is a OAF out of box feature, if you want to implement the feature in your custom page, just set Warn About Changes property to True on the pageLayout region.
please read "Save Model ("Warn About Changes")" chapter from devguide for details.
    Thanks

Firstly you DO NOT have to do a factory reset / wipe device, it is simply not required to get the space back!!
Mine had 3GB and I just got rid of it all, here is how:
    METHOD ONE:
    Make a backup in iTunes
    open iBackupBot (Google it)
    Go to the relevant backup
Click on Multimedia File Manager and click on the other Multimedia files tab
Sort by filename by clicking the Filename tab
Find MediaDomain/Library/SMS/Attachments and highlight all of them, then press delete.  You can also click to export to a folder of your choice, if you want to save them that is.
    Then go to System Files>MediaDomain>Library>SMS>Attachments
They will be all listed here, highlight them all and press delete
Then just restore that backup using iTunes!
Tadaa! Space recovered, your messages are still there but without the attachments!  METHOD TWO:
Backup your device in iTunes and then to iCloud
Go to Settings>iCloud and toggle Documents & Data to OFF
Then do a 2nd backup to iTunes and iCloud
Then restore the device from iCloud and the message attachments should be gone, turn Documents & Data back on again in the settings
PLEASE NOTE: Method two is a much longer process but some users may feel more comfortable with this method.
P.S You may want to make two backups in case you get any of the above steps wrong, but it is simple to follow the above and not do anything wrong!
P.P.S You could also just go through every single conversation and delete the attachments one by one, but if you have hundreds or thousands of attachments, this will take a VERY LONG TIME!!!

  • Mail/AOL Mail Saved Message Nightmare

I set my boss up to use AOL's imap server to send and receive email through osx's mail application. He dragged all of his important messages to the saved folder. What happened next was strange. Although the folder is on the mac itself, the messages uploaded to somewhere, leaving the folder empty. I went on his regular account and checked the saved messages box and it was empty. AOL has no idea where they went if they are not in the saved folder on their ACS. I checked the computer itself and could not locate any of the mails. Has anyone else ran into this problem?
    G4Laptop   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Assorted tidbits that may or may not be of use to those following this thread:
    1. As of August 5, I was still able to save whatever emails I wanted to select from any Mail mailbox to the AOL "Saved" mailbox with no errors or disappearance problems of any kind whatsoever.
    2. As of approximately one month ago, I could with Mail.app also move any email I wanted from the AOL IMAP inbox to the AOL "Spam" mailbox. This is what some official AOL help documents indicate is the equivalent to using the AOL client app "Report Spam" button, so I assume this is, or at least was previously, officially supported with IMAP access to AOL email as the approved way to report spam when not using AOL client or web mail access.
2.a. At some point in the last ten days or so, I noticed this 'report spam' equivalent was not working properly with Mail.app. I don't know the exact date this started happening since I don't often have to use the feature, but what I do know is that as of ~ July 28, I started getting error messages similar to the ones we now see for moving messages to "Saved." So far, the error messages are all that happens with this -- IOW, there is no disappearance problem, only a refusal to accept any email into the "Spam" server folder via Mail.app.
    3. In Mail.app, using the menu "Copy to..." option for attempts to move messages into the affected AOL-based folders works very much the same as with drag & drop, except the existing copy is never deleted from the source mailbox, so I suggest this is a better way to test for the problem than by risking any messages you might want to save.
3.a. Using the copy option may initially look like it succeeds, even when it doesn't. In my case, messages copied to "Saved" sometimes did appear there in Mail's view even after opening the "Saved" mailbox view, which I assume from Mail's Activity window does cause some small amount of syncing. However, within 10 seconds to about a minute, the newly copied message still disappears, which I assume is due to some server-side problem a 'full' sync shows.
    4. Until AOL sorts out all the details of its "new" incarnation, It is probably best not to count on saving anything to its servers, even with the web mail interface.

  • Saved-messages gone

I save important messages in Mail in a folder called saved-messages.imapmbox. When I opened Mail today, they were all gone. I recently installed the 10.4.8 update...
Where could they have gone? Is there any way to find or restore them?
    Thanks for any help.
    Bill

I don't know what may have caused the messages to be deleted.
If Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Keep copies of messages for offline viewing is set to All messages and their attachments for this account, then Mail 2.x would have stored a local copy of the messages as *.emlx files on your disk as long as the messages were still on the server.
If the messages are not on the server, and you don't have a backup, your only option is to try to salvage as many deleted *.emlx files as possible with a data recovery tool such as Data Rescue II, TechTool Pro, or FileSalvage. Of these, the only one I know for sure that can recover deleted *.emlx files is FileSalvage. Stop using your computer right now if you want to try that, as anything you do with the computer may cause the deleted files to be overwritten.

  • Saved Messages Folder

    Hello!
I am running Nokia PC Suite version 6.80.21 with my Nokia 6111. The phone needs sending away to be mended. So I am trying to back up everything to the PC.
Contacts etc will synch fine. The problem is my "saved message" folders, of which there are several. They are not coming up on the PC at all. I am quite sentimental and do not wish to lose them.
I thought of putting them back in the inbox on the phone. There isn't the option. They can only be moved to other saved message folders.
What else can I try? I must have found a way to do this before, as many of the messages I am trying to preserve are older than the phone I currently have. Would an older version of PC Suite handle what I am trying to do?
    Apple28

That may be tricky, but you should run a full backup with PC Suite, not only try to synchronise the messages.
It maybe that all the saved folders will be included in the backup and then they can be restored back again when phone comes back from mending.
So run the backup (try to move as much as possible of the images etc. big fles you may have in your phone manually with File Manager to your PC so that the backup file size would be minimal.
Then when you have run the backup, locate the backup file from your PC, open it with notepad and try to view are your saved messages included in the backup (.nbf) file.
Also, you can try to stress at the service place that they must preserve all the phone data, so maybe they run the backup and update phone and restore it.

  • Access Services - Saving message continuously appearing

Hi, I have a SharePoint 2013 Site which was migrated from SharePoint 2010. This uses access services and we have a few access databases appearing in the browser and when the user does any data additions or updates, the data actually gets saved, but the
message "Access Services is saving the data" is not disappearing. What could be an issue here?
    Karthick

    Hi,
Based on your description, my understanding is that after connect your Access 2013 Web Apps to SharePoint Lists and migrate from SP 2010 to 2013,
the user is unable to update any data in your SharePoint Lists.
Here is a post about Migrating from SP 2010 to 2013, user permissions are not working:

Make sure your user account with the “Full Control” or “Owner” SharePoint permission. If you have trouble, check with the person who is in charge of your SharePoint site.

  • How to validate plan data before saving the data

I have a total row in my planning layout which is a summation of plan data in 2 other rows. While saving the data, I should check whether the total is 200 and if not the data should not be saved. How can I achieve this! Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Tipo.

    Hi,
I'm also facing the same problem in my development...I tried above all the ways, but we cannot stop saving the wrong data.In this case you have to write the java script for save button, before saving the data if it is correct then go for the next step to save other wise throw an error message or without save the data .
You need to write the JAVA script for save button,in this code you need to read the data form the layout and check the total value, i am not sure if layout is dynamic how we can achieve this???.
My development also stopped for this issue,In my case i  have two layouts ,one is for actual and another one is for Planing layout(Function - Distribution equally),using the fox code i succeed to read and throw an error message for incorrect data but i can not stop to saving for incorrect total data.
Once you solved this problem please post the message in SDN.This type of requirements is very tough and we need to share to our friends.
    Thanks.

  • How to move messages in "Saved Messages" and "My F...

I've just upgraded my phone from 6280 to N73 Music Edition.
To transfer all transferrable data from 6280 to N73, I used PC Suite 6.84.10.4 to backup 6280 and restore it on N73.
Contacts, calendar, bookmarks, messages in the Inbox/Outbox/Draft/Sent Items are all transferred well into N73. However, it's not transferring my messages in 6280's Saved Messages and its user-created folders!
On the 6280 phone itself, I tried to move messages into Inbox but it doesn't work. 6280 only allows moving of messages in the user folders to other folders or the Saved Messages folder.
I have lots of messages stored in my 6280's Saved Messages and folders. How can I transfer them all to my new N73 phone? Would appreciate help.
    Thanks

there you can mark all messages in a folder and copy them to your pc. on the new phone vice-versa.
I've just tried it out. I can select all messages from the Archives or My Folders of 6280 using PC Suite and drag them into a PC folder. This works. However, when I tried to select all messages from the PC folder and drag into Inbox of N73, the messages are not copied.
So, this method doesn't seem to work

  • How do I get rid of saved messages on iOS7?

I noticed this new feature in the Usage section of Settings. I have a whopping 8.8 GB of space taken up by Messages (always wondered what that "other" data was...). I tried getting rid of it by deleting conversations in messages (almost all of them, and especially the ones I knew had a ton of pics and videos in em) but after doing that and reopening the app, ALL my messages were gone. I didn't delete ALL of them. I restarted and then all my messages, even the deleted convos, were all back. How can this be??? I did this twice and the same result happened. Oddly though, my message data number went down by a few points to 8.2 GB.
I seriously need to get rid of these saved messages so I can reclaim my phone space and deleting them within iMessage doesn't seem to be doing the trick. Has anyone else noticed this happening? If so, how did you fix it? I figured I'd try asking here first before I go to the Apple store this weekend.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks!
    Pooja

Ok guys, I found a weird work-around for this. Apparently, if you delete one conversation in iMessage and then back up to iCloud (or iTunes), it WILL delete that conversation and free up space. However, if you try to delete more than one conversation and then do this, it won't work. Once you restart they'll all be back. So it is a tedious process to delete one conversation at a time, but if you can pinpoint the ones which you know have a lot of attachments in them or something then just try deleting those one at at time and backup the phone. This works for me and I now have 4GB of space recovered just by deleting two conversations!!
Very buggy feature though since it doesn't work for more than one at a time but at least there IS a solution! Let me know if this works for you all.
