  • Saved passwords will not show passwords in firefox 3.6

When I go to Tools>Option>Security>Saved Passwords - Saved Passwords do not show up.

Firefox has some printing bugs that appear when the page designer uses certain style rules. There's no immediate prospect that Firefox will be fixed, but of course mail.live.com could be changed at any time. Until then, you can use the Stylish extension to override the styles on mail.live.com, and many other sites that could use a tweak.
If you're inclined to try this:
    (1) Install Stylish
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2108/
    (2) Add a new user style
Tools > Add-ons > User Style tab > Write New Style button
Give it any name you like (e.g., Fix Hotmail Printing) and then copy and paste the following style rule text into the large edit area:
    @namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);
    @-moz-document domain("mail.live.com") {
    .PrintContent .ReadMsgBody .ExternalClass {display:block !important}
Compare with my screen shot for reference.
Explanation: this overrides the style from display:inline-block back to display:block.
    Works for me. Any luck?

    Hi,
Please try this: Firefox '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons''' > '''Extensions''' (on the left), click '''Options''' for LastPass > '''General''', enable '''Automatically Fill Login Information'''. If a site has more than one entries, you can set the preferred login in the vault by right-clicking the preferred entry > '''Edit''' and enable '''AutoLogin'''.

  • Username and password not automatically filled in

The problem I have with Firefox is that when I log in to one of my email services (I use two different ones).
In the past when I opened the log-in page my login and password (saved in FF) were already filled in so I just had to click "log in" button - it still is that way on the other email service. I had it set up this way for years, since many FF versions back (I have automatic updates on in FF so it is always up to date). Recently I was changing my passwords and I got confused when updating saved password so I decided to delete saved passwords for one of the email services and just logged in typing the password in manually and clicked 'save password' when FF password manager asked me. From that point on when I open the log in page from my bookmarks, the details are not there anymore, so I have to click on 'username' field to get the autocomplete list, choose my login name (there is only one) and then the password gets filled in and I can log in, so it's not the issue of password not being saved or filled in for my login but the fact that these details are not filled in from the point I open the login page from bookmarks, like it used to be and like it still is with the other service (for which I didn't delete and re-save password).. Now this might not be a big deal you might think but it is really annoying that I have to do extra step just to log in to my email especially that I log in to it frequently during the day and that I like things to work the way they are supposed to.
I have tried removing cookies for that website, deleting and re-saving the bookmark (with fields already filled with details), deleting all saved password for that website and saving it again and nothing seemed to help.
I will appreciate any help if anyone has the solution. Please do not suggest alternatives like using add-ons or using email client etc.
Not sure links are allowed but this is the link to the screenshot showing and describing the problem:

    I'm on win 7 pro 64, latest Mozilla 29.0.1

OK. I tested it with the name and password in the bug report.
This looks like a problem with the submit URL.
The form uses a submit URL action="/login.html"
    <pre><nowiki><form action="/login.html" method="post" name="login" id="loginForm"></nowiki></pre>
There runs a script that changes this to a secure version
    <pre>loginForm = $('#loginForm').attr('action', 'https://profil<i></i>.wp<i></i>.pl/login.html'),
    </pre>
That makes the Password Manager not working properly.
It should work if you open the login page via a secure connection https://profil.wp.pl/login.html
You can also use the Saved Password Editor extension to edit the form and modify the submit URL to use <b>http://profil<i></i>.wp<i></i>.pl</b> to make the Password Manager work.

  • Saved passwords suddenly not there

Using OSX Yosemite and Firefox 34.0.5. all of a sudden not a single saved password in my file. key3.db file along with logins.json and the signons.sqlite file still in the system. However the about:config screen does not display the signon.importedFromSqlite.
I've spent hours reading forums and have not found a procedure to restore the saved passwords. Appreciate your help with the steps suggested. Thank you

If you use the Time Machine then try to restore the logins.json (or signons.sqlite file) and key3.db file(s) from that backup.
You need the move or rename the logins.json file and reset signon.importedFromSqlite to make Firefox (re)import the passwords from the signons.sqlite file.
If that still doesn't work then you need to delete the key3.db and logins.json and signons.sqlite files and set the Master Password again.
You will lose all saved passwords doing that.
The "Remember Password" extension has been reported to cause issues with the passwords disappearing, so if you have this extension then remove (uninstall) it.

  • I want to update a subset of my remembered passwords via the "saved passwords" list; not one at a time when I use them. Is there a way to do this?

A lot of my saved passwords are for different pages on the company internal network. Since there is only one password for all these pages it would be easier if I could change all of them in one go when I change the password.
I haven't seen any way to do this. Have I overlooked something or is it just a missing feature?

My best guess would be to follow the process of changing the backup as per the posts I have come across to point to a new drive...let it copy, and then point the backup back to the original time capsule again.
My only fear is that its going to them do the copy process twice...which when 1Tb could be laboursome to say the least...especially to and from a time capsule on a 10/100 network!
    Thanks!
Mountain Lion allows TM to backup to two different locations.. You can use the TC and a USB disk plugged into the TC.
It can then swap itself around or you can physically move disks around when you want to retain data.
Your guess.. of using the copy the backup to another location will also work.
Let me suggest it is no bad idea to backup.. a disk image with a different utility.. superduper does disk images only for free.. and you can do it from disk utility itself. A disk image can be far easier to recover from then TM which can be several hours and even then lots of stuff seems to need manual moving around.

  • Safari has deleted all my saved passwords, and not saving any I ask!

    Pretty self explanatory...
But just today, Safari seems to have completely wiped all my saved passwords, and I had a lot saved. The pop up box saying 'Do you want to save this password?' is still coming up when I log into an account somewhere, and even if I select yes, it doesn't save.
This is rather annoying, considering I'm setting up a forum, and have to be constantly logging in and out of everyone's account, in an attempt to transfer posts.
Could someone help? Would be really grateful!
    Tom
    Edit: I'm using Safari 7.0.3

    1. Delete Safari .plist file.
         Quit all applications.
Option click the "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.
Select "Library" from the drop down.
         Library > Preferences >  com.apple.Safari.plist
Right click on it and select "Move To Trash".
         Restart. Relaunch Safari.
    2. Turn off Extensions, if any.

  • Not automatically joining network at login

Using a netgear DG824m, 802.11b - everything working fine till I did a clean install. Now when I login, the wireless network is not automatically picked up, although it's visible in the airport menu bar icon.
I just have to select my network and the WEP encryption all happens fine. Network preferences are configured to automatic, I tried Join selected network but it doesn't help.
    Any ideas?

Fixed it! Seems that the network password was stored in a system keychain that the other users couldn't access. Logged in with admin rights, deleted the old network password from the system keychain (via keychain access), joined the network again via internet connect.
Then looked at the new password item in the system keychain, there's a tab for accessibility - selected the Allow access to all applications.
Then logged in as other users, selected the network - computer then asks if admin will allow access to password, on a once off or permanent basis.
With the network system preferences set to automatic, seems to join network at login without any problem.

  • Not able to pass portal login page with valid credentials using WebDispatch

    Hi,
We are implementing SAP BillerDirect Portal. To make BillerDirect Portal available over the internet, we Configured SAP WebDispatcher with SSL termination.  We followed the steps mentioned in SAP Help Documentaion for SAP WebDispatcher with SSL termination.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/76/6d4fa247d0d647b5bd40745400d873/frameset.htm
We created certificate  and send it to CA (TrustCenter CA). We received the CA response and we imported the certificate.
AS mentioned in the help document, we configured the SAP Web Dispatcher profile to support SSL termination
We tried to access our BillerDirect Portal over the internet using below link
    https://company.com/bd
We are getting login page, once we enter correct user ID and Password, portal is not loading (not going to next page) portal remains on same login page.
If we enter invalid credentials portal login page is giving u201CUser Authentication Failedu201D error.
If we try to access any portal login pages which brings a pop-up for login, login gets succeeded and we are able to see next pages

  • I do not see the icon for saving a password on my Firefox screen, and the passwords are not automatically being saved eventhough I have selected that feature. What should I do?

    I have Firefox 6.0.1

Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
    * Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Private Browsing mode.

  • The saved passwords are not shown in 'password manager'

My firefox browser had saved my password for Yahoo. It logged me in automatically everytime I went to the particular site, without a problem but recently I Forgot my password for yahoo and when I went to the password manager it was empty and did not show anything. I then went to yahoo mail to make sure whether or not firefox still has my password and found out it logged me in just like it did before which means firefox remembers my password but won't show them in 'Password manager'. Pls help me .

There are two elements that are 'remember' points for yahoo web mail.
Depending on what you have clicked in the past, Yahoo.com saves a little file on your device called a 'cookie'. When you 'logged' into the website for the first (or more recent) time, there was a little check box next to the login field and password fields. It probably was checked. this enabled yahoo to save on your computer a 'cookie' so that you are now known by yahoo and others , when you connect ,and when you last looked at their website (and were presented with their advertising, as payment for using their free service), now when you signed out from Yahoo, it remembered the cookie, and not your password. The next time you forgot your password, and clicked 'I forgot my password' at yahoos site, it looked at your 'cookie', then sent you to the correct site for your country or language.. Thats what fouled up before. (Remember , Firefox has not saved your password yet), however, there was a point where you can click update my password), and then FF will save your password to the website you told it to. Auto-Complete is what happens when you fill in your user name, and that also gets stored with your 'cookie'.
J Hope this helps explain the 3 places where your password is kept.
    1) Locally on your device in a secure file (IF Master Password is used) based on the domain name you connect to.
2)In a cache file in memory, while the session is active, and refreshed occaisionally, and linked with a 'cookie' from the website.
3)At the Yahoo Web Server and cached internally, to match with the cookie that is stored with your machineID.
