Saved pattern swatches as ASE have I lost them?

Hello
I created some pattern swatches in illustrator CS6 and saved them as an ASE file.
When I try to use them , only the files I'd saved as Ai are offered to me.
Does the saved as ASE file only save the colours used and not the actual pattern?
Have I lost my pattern designs or can I open them somehow and convert them back to Ai?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Pattern and radient swatches can't be saved as ASE. The ASE simply won't contain the patterns, so if you haven't saved the file taht contains the pattern or saved the patterns as AI, then they will be lost.
Illustrator should have issued an error message.

Saving Pattern swatch ASE

I wanted to save a pattern swatch and not the whole swatch library so I deleted all the swatches until it was just the one pattern swatch. I saved it as an .ase and then opened it in another document. I noticed however that when I open the pattern in the other document it shows the default swatch library and no pattern swatch. When I save the swatch as an ai. it opens the default library as well as the pattern swatch. Is there a way to save just the pattern swatch?

ASE will only save color swatches, no patterns.

In order to have them in all your files you need to save them into a custom new document profile.

I have iphoto 08 version 7.1.5. I copied photos from recent - last import into albums. I then deleted the photos and emptied the trash. Today all the albums are empty and the photos are nowhere in the library. Have I lost them all?

OK, here are a set of screenshots with my step by step - maybe you will be able to spot where I've gone awry:
I find a photo in the Library that I will delete from an album:
I go down to my Albums and find the picture in one of them:
I hover over the pic so the little down arrow appears in the bottom right-hand corner. I click on it, then click on the Trash Can in the window that drops down:

If the photos and videos aren't in the camera roll on your phone, the photos aren't your my photo stream album on your phone, and you don't have a backup of your phone while they were still on it, I'm afraid there isn't anying you can do as there is no source to restore them from.
(Apple states that it keeps your last three iCloud backups (if you have sufficient space in your account) so even if they weren't on your phone when it was last backed up, if you think they might be in one of the prior 2 backups you could try restoring one of these older backups.)
If you deleted them from your phone, there are 3rd party data recovery programs available (such as http://www.anysoftwaretools.com/iphone-data-recovery.html). I don't know how well they work though.

I had iTunes on previous computer, can't find my libraries now I have re-downloaded for new computer, does this mean I have lost all my music content? My wedding music was on there, and i had paid loads to download stuff. I assumed it was all saved somewhere like hotmail messages. Any ideas, please? Jane

From your OLD computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

my Ipad died I think because I did not update it. All of my college notes are on I books is there anyway I can get these notes back on I books also I have no idea how to check if I even stored them on the cloud. If the books were purchased at the iBookStore, you will be able to redownload, like the apps. Some other sellers, like O'Reilly, also allow multiple downloads.
If you have (or can install) iTunes on a computer (Mac preferable, not mandatory) and run it then plug the device in, does it show up? If the computer can detect it, you can and should do a complete backup onto local storage immediately. That can then be used to reconstruct the content of the device on a new or repaired replacement. If you enable encryption, even the passwords will get saved.

same problem but with ff6 this time UNFORTUNATELY it updated automatically to ff6 from ff5 and it was a disaster now I cant use yahoo toolbar either I am switching everything to IE9. I dont know if its google, yahoo, or Mozilla who is at fault but its the consumer that ends up suffering.

I had to uninstall then reinstall Firefox. Have I lost all my bookmarks.

Some how Firefox was corrupted, which resulted in uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I had a boat load of book marks. Have I lost them all?

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

how can i view and apply new custom patterns without going to preset manager? i had this facility but have now lost it. i design patterns but am fairly new to photoshop. i used to be able to click on the drop down menu in patterns in the 'fill' box but cannot now do this. have i inadvertently clicked on something to turn this facility off? i now have to go to 'preset manager' and manually move my new design to the first box and click 'done' so that i can use it.

Which version of photoshop are you using?
After you define a custom pattern it should be added to the bottom of whatever patterns are already loaded.
For example, if you define a custom pattern and then go to Edit>Fill>Pattern, the newly defined pattern should have been added to the existing loaded patterns.

OCD with good reason
With a second backup, as you now have, you are well protected. The update makes a backup to use for restoring after the install but with another you should be in great shape.
Just take you time and be patient, these can take a while to complete depending on server load, connection speed, etc.

They've been deleted since the end of iDisk and Mobile Me.
Only last hope is if you had turned on synching to create a "local" iDisk folder on your machine.

My computer crashed so I tried to sync all my stuff to another computer and lost 300 songs when I synced my iPod to the other computer how do I get them back I don't have them saved in iCloud and I can't get them back from the other computer

Is there anyway to get these songs back also I had music that I had downloaded from emusic and installed some from CDs.

If they are still on the iPod then:
Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device: Apple Support Communities
Otherwise they are gone and you will have to get them from where you obtained them before.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:

Pattern swatch updating

I am just learning illustrator CS6 at the moment!
If I decide to make changes to a pattern I made, how do I make sure that it updates so when I use the pattern swatch in another file its the updated version?
Also is there a way to select a single pattern swatch and save as an .ase rather than saving the whole swatch library?

Updates to patterns will always only affect the file in which the update takes place.
You can only save the contents of the panel. If you want to save only one, you have to delete all the others.
