Saved SMS on my MAC

hello to everybody
I had a saved SMS in my curve and I have done a save of all my files on my MAC. But after the update of the OS, my saved SMS on the curve disappeared. Can you help my by telling which file I have to restore with Blackberry device to recover this saved SMS. It is a very old SMS so I think is not in the file "SMS Messages"

Welcome to the Apple Community.
iCloud only backs up messages and only if you enable phone back up.
Messages aren't accessible either from iCloud.com or from the computer, your back up is only there should you need to restore your phone.

I just recently had a firmware upgrade on my 5130c-2 at Carphone warehouse, however before I took in the phone to be done I made sure all me contacts, saved sms messages, photos and music were synced with PC Suite, once done, I removed micro SD card and SIM and had the upgrade. Anyway the problem I have now is that all contacts, music and photos are back from syncing, Although I can see all my messages in PC suite they will not go back on my phone!! Please tell what I am doing wrong as I need to get these messages back on. Thank you

You have to restore the entire backup, as explained here: https://support.apple.com/kb/ph12521. If you want to keep your current data, back up your phone to iTunes first, then resotore the iCloud backup, import the recovered photos to your computer (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), then restore the iTunes backup you made earlier.

X3 touch & Type - Cancel saved sms's

Just wondering how do i turn off the saved sms function on a X3 touch type.
I looked everywhere on the phone...
Is there even a function on this phone to cancel the saved sms function???

No, it's not currently a feature of the iPhone. You can suggest it to Apple... http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
You can setup your voicemail to say 'sorry, i will call back'.
You can also look in the App Store for an app that might do something similar.

that depends on the hardware in your MacBook Pro. Go to the Apple Menu in Yosemite, select "About This Mac".
Once there, click the "System Report..." button.
On the next window that opens, in the left sidebar under Hardware, select Bluetooth.
On the right panel, near the top should be the following...
Bluetooth Low Energy Supported: yes/no
Handoff Supported: yes/no
Instant Hotspot Supported: yes/no
If any of those are no, they you will not have access to the majority of Handoff.
NOTE: SMS functions (enabled after iOS 8.1 install), and iPhone to Mac calling features are WiFi only, and do not require the specific Bluetooth/Wifi hardware to function (I have a 2007 iMac and am able to send and receive calls from my iPhone on it, but I do not have, for example, Email/Keynote/Pages Handoff features between the two)

I am a freshman regarding the use of Mac and IPhone. I am searching for an app which give me the possibility of writing sms on my Mac and sending it through my IPhone. Can anyone help ?

It's because of an Apple imposed limitation of the iPhone's rather basic Bluetooth implementation.
Technically, Apple could provide the iPhone with much more Bluetooth functionality (file transfer, printing, vCard transfer, SMS sending, remote control, contact & calendar syncing etc.) through iPhone OS updates.

Use Migration Assistant on your new Mac:
Click Continue:
On the next screen, choose your Time Machine backup disk.
Don't bother to migrate Applications unless you know they will work on your new Mac. For example, PowerPC applications won't work. Just migrate your user account which will copy all your photos, music, movies, and other documents.
Note: you will not be able to migrate the information to same account in which you are already logged in. Migration Assistant will tell you that and recommend what to do. It can migrate the information to a new account, but you will have to give it a name you might want to change later. One way around this is to create a temporary account, log in to it, and run Migration Assistant which will replace your normal account. Then, log out of the temporary account, log in to your usual one, verify everyting works as you expect, and delete the temporary one.
All this can be avoided when you set up a brand new Mac by running Setup Assistant which essentially does the same thing to create your new account, but most people are too excited to do that and elect to migrate later.

How can I transfer all my data including SMS to my mac/windows computer?

My friend has asked me to help her transfer all the data from her iPhone 3GS to a computer then to a hard drive. She has several folders with pictures in but image capture on mac is only picking up the one. I have an iPhone 4S and iPad 3 installed already on iTunes so don't want to accidentally erase her phone.
She also needs some of the SMS messages taking off of her phone and saving either as they are or in some form of text file so they are readable in the future.
How can I retrieve all this data including the messages without losing anything and can it be done for free?
If you need anymore info please just ask and I'll try and pass it on to the best of my (limited) knowledge.

SHe can also do a backup of her phone and it will save the text message, but she won't be able to view the text unless she restores to the backup.

Saving PDF form on Mac prevents viewing and printing by another viewer

We run a student competition which is affiliated with a national competition. The national competition provides a set of forms that must be filled out by the students, teachers, etc. We have a process set up whereby students can download a PDF form (which is enabled by the authors for saving from Reader). They are supposed to fill out this form (actually several of them), and then save the file(s) to their drive. Once they have the forms filled out and approved by their teacher, they upload them to our website via a standard web form, which simply saves the uploaded PDF for later viewing by the student, teachers, judges, and committee members. When students do this using Adobe Reader on a PC, it works fine. (I'm not sure if Reader X works, actually, but I know Reader 9 does). The problem, though, comes up with Mac users. When they do the same thing, it seems to override the extended rights in the document, resulting in a document saved on their disk that displays with all the fields initially unviewable (that is they all appear blank). If you click on one of the fields, you can view the fields one at a time. Each field appears and disappears as you move thru the document. But we can't simply read the form, nor can we print a copy (which is necessary if the student wins and proceeds to the national competition.) This is true if the form is uploaded or emailed or transported by USB drive--it is simply a property of the saved file. In our testing, this appears to be a generic property of forms processed on a Mac--and we haven't found a way around it. Is there any way for a student who has filled out a form on a Mac to save the form while PRESERVING the extended rights? Or do we just have to tell them that Macs don't work right? If there is a way for them to do this, I could provide the instructions on the page that delivers the forms. But we've tried to explore the Mac interface (inside Safari and in the PDF viewer that is provided on the Mac systems) and can't find any place that gives options that seem to affect the extended rights. Help!

There's an easy way around it. Make sure they are using Adobe Reader to fill in the form. 99% of these cases are because they are using the Mac Preview application to open PDF's and it will corrupt Adobe forms.

Can't open Windows-saved .ai file on Mac Leopard

As the topic states - when I open the document it only opens in preview with the following message:
"This is an Adobe Illustrator file that was saved without PDF content. To pace or open this file in other applications, it should be re-saved from Adobe Illustrator with the 'Create PDF Compatible File' option turned on."
I know how to get to the dialog box with the PDF compatible file option, but I've been told when this is checked it turns the ai file into a PDF and makes it uneditable. Is this true or can I check that box with all my work and still be able to edit it full in Illustrator as well as open it between PC and Mac?

If you save as AI with PDF Compatibility, the file will contain two full versions of the content, one as native AI stuff, the other as dumbed-down PDF stuff.
If you save as PDF with Illustrator Editibality, the file will contain two full versions of the content, one as dumbed-down PDF stuff, the other as native AI stuff.
If you save as PDF without Illustrator Editibality, you just get the dumbed-down PDF content.
IF you save as AI without PDF Compatibility, you just get native AI content.
If you want to have full editing capability in Illustrator (regardless of whether you are crossing platforms) you need the native AI content. That means saving as a native .ai file (with or without PDF Compatibility), or as a PDF with Illustrator Editability.

How to see Saved SMS in PC Suite

Hi Friends,
I have saved 200 sms in one folder. Now i want to move them to my computer. But i am not able to see any such folder in Pc Suite, only Inbox, Sent, Drafts & Outbox is shown.
Plz help me to take copy of those sms in my computer.

File Saving.. question about Mac and Windows..

Hi all!
Just a quick question, is there anything that needs to be considered between saving a file from a java application on either Mac or Windows? Or does java "do" the work and I don't have to worry?
So far I saved some text from using my application on a Mac but havent got to a PC yet, and would rather make the changes now..
