Saved text messages

I have some text messages saved into the "saved messages" folder. When I try to upload them to my computer, in the back up files part that comes up everything shows up all encrypted so I actually have no clue if there are uploaded. It is extremely important that I get these messages uploaded. Please tell me how.

If you mean to automagically remove your text messages after you receive or send them, then aside from removing them manually I don't think that there is anything.  Maybe an add on program someone has developed will do this, but I haven't seen anything.

  • I am a bit ignorant when it comes to my iphone 4. Can somone help me delete saved text messages? I have tried to delete them one by one in my messages, but it still says that I have 2.3 saved messages. I just want to free up space  on my phone.

Dearest Ones in the Apple Tech World,
I need to free up space in my storage, and I can do that if I can figure out how to delete my saved text messages. Anyone out there know how in the world I can accomplish this?
I have tried to delete them one by one, but it still says that I have 2.3 GB of saved messages!
I am not the saviest when it comes to operating this phone. Any help would be appreciated!
    THANKS SO MUCH!

There's no way to delete all message threads at one go. You can however do one contact thread at a time.
In Messages app where you see a list of messages from different contacts,  tap Edit (top left), tap the red (on the left), then tap the red Delete button on the right.

  • HT4623 Is there any way of saving text messages on my iphone 4s?

Is there a way of saving text messages on my iphone? On my old phone, I could send them to a separate folder. As the messages link on this phone, I've found myself deleting messages that contained important infor from previous conversations and I need to get it back!

Try the computer apps PhoneView (Mac) or TouchCopy (Mac & PC):

You could also forward the texts to your email address or take screen shots.

  • How can I transfer my saved text messages from one phone to another?

I have a Blackberry Curve 9320 and recently it began malfunctioning, so I have been sent a replacement of the same model. My problem is that I can transfer things like photos and contacts easily enough but I want to know if there's a way of keeping the text messages that I'd saved on the previous phone and putting them on the new one, any ideas?

  • Saving Text Messages

Is there any way I can save text messages to my computer so I can print them for a client file?

Yes, just email the message to yourself and save it on your PC.
Touch messaging, then touch the message you want to save.  Next then touch the message content itself.  You will then see the message in white letters on a black background.  Then push the menu button on the bottom left of your phone.  Touch the choice Forward and email it to yourself.
This may be your solution.  I have even saved photos this way.

  • Saving text messages and pictures when resetting

I want to reset my iPhone to factory default because one of my buddies jailbroke it and I hate the jailbroken version. It's slow and annoying. Is there a way for me to save all of my text messages and pictures, reset the phone to factory default, and then put all the texts and pictures back on?

You can import the photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll as with any other digital camera and then transfer the photos to your iPhone via the iTunes sync/transfer process as with any other photos on your computer's hard drive that you want available on your iPhone for viewing.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3603
The same does not apply to text messages. The only way to transfer text messages back to an iPhone restored with iTunes is to restore from the iPhone's backup, and you can't select which data that is included with the iPhone's backup that is transferred to the iPhone. It is all or none with the iPhone's backup.
There are 3rd party utilities that provide for extracting messages from your iPhone's backup for access on your computer.

  • Saving text messages from my iPhone 4?

I want to change carriers to get better phone service, but will need a new phone. I want to save my text messages from my iPhone 4 onto my MacBookPro.
    How do I do that?

You can do your backup either to iTunes or to iCloud, which ever way you have been doing them in the past. This support document might make it easier for you to chose if you haven't been backing up in the past. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5262 Make sure for safety sake that you import the pictures from your camera roll and that you sync contacts and calendar data to a supported application on the computer. Then follow the information in this support document for putting data from old device onto the new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2109

  • Saving text messages/messages in general

In all prior BB's I've been able to set how long to save my messages &/or file them. I cannot figure that out now no matter where I look. Someone please advise!!

        @vcash09
Let's get your Galaxy S III back running smoothly again!  First, I'd like to ask have you downloaded a 3rd party text messaging application, or are you using the default messaging application that comes preloaded on the device?  Either way, you can simply stop the application and clear the application cache by completing the following steps: http://vz.to/1elJftQ.  Let me know how this works out for you.  Thanks!

  • HELP! Saving text message from original iphone

I've got the original iphone and I need to know how to save several pages of text for a court hearing. I have tried several suggestions on here to save messages but none are working. I have tried taking a screen shot by holding down the home and power button at the same time, my version of iphone does not allow forwarding messages, so I can't sent it to an email address to print out later. I understand that there are applications that one can purchase, but I'm wondering if they are configured for the original iphone... can anyone help me?

  • Ihave over 7gb of saved text messages that i cant delete, ive deleted all my texts and it still says that. ive read that backing up with icloud and turning off documents and data would eliminate this issue... well how...?

icloud will not allow me to backup my phone because of the 7gb of data its too much for the 5gb free space on icloud and i have the documents and data turned off in the icloud settings so i dont understand whats taking up all the space? the only thing i have on the settings is my photos and thats only 4gb. SOMEONE HELP ME!!!

I have this identical problem.  For a while my group texts didnt show up on my ipad.  Then one day they did, maybe everyone in the group started using the same os version or something.  Ever since my first reply to the group there have been complaints of multiple threads.  I can not find a pattern for when my group text's decide they want to create a new thread. (it doesnt happen every time)  Everyone in the group has deleted the thread, we've all toggled imessage on/off etc.  There still hasn't been a solution.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • HT3529 I have 5 GB of saved text messages.  I delete them but they come back.  Any clue?

How can I get messages to delete from my phone permanently?

    Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion and Mt. Lion delete the contents the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
    Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, restore the backup library launch iPhoto and check again.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
If you're running Mavericks, 10.9,  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.
