Saved "Your Music" music has disappeared in Windows client

HI All the saved albums i have in my "Your Music" collection have disappeared from the Windows (7)  client (1.0.8.59.gee82e7e6).  They still appear in the Android client. What happened ? ThanksJon

When you open windows explorer check option Views and set it to Details so you should be able to see file name, size, type, artist, Album title, year, track number and duration.
You can open windows media player, go to library and check if you can edit each file listed there.

The error message I get on my PC is "The ITunes library file cannot be saved" An unknown error occurred (-50)and my music library has disappeared.  I recently tried to copy a CD to my library - it appeared to copy ok but then did not appear in my music library.  The library does not show up even when my iPad is connected to my PC.  My entire library is now held on my iPad and I wish to have it in iTunes so I can sync my iPhone to it as well.  Help?

Don't know what changed today but it downloaded and installed on the shuffle. So far so good.

It should be in your applications folder.  Locate it; click and hold onto it then drag it back to where it was.

  • TS3927 My summary tab has disappeared in windows 8 now it asks me where to open eg file manager?

My summary tab in Itunes has disappeared in windows 8 when I open ITunes.  It keeps asking me where to open now eg file manager.  Totally frustrated.  Can anyone help?

What you're trying to do now is:
    EFI->kernel (EFI stub)
This is appealingly direct, but it's tricky to get working. What the wiki now recommends is:
    EFI->gummiboot->kernel (EFI stub)
    ...or...
    EFI->GRUB->kernel
These approaches are less direct, but they're easier to configure. The trouble is that both the EFI's built-in boot manager and the EFI stub loader are tricky to configure. For a newbie to get them both configured correctly on a first attempt at installing Arch is very difficult. Getting the EFI to launch gummiboot or GRUB is easier because these programs don't require the complex parameters that the EFI stub loader requires. Those parameters can instead be specified in the gummiboot or GRUB configuration file, which is easier to manage for quite a few reasons.
If you want to pursue using the EFI stub loader directly, you certainly can. I've learned from experience, though, that it's not worth my time to try to help with users who want to do this. Using an intermediary program is easier to get working. IMHO, the direct approach has no real benefits except that it gives you bragging rights that you've done it. Your system won't boot any faster or more reliably in the more direct approach. (Well, technically it will be faster, by only by a matter of milliseconds, assuming you use a 0 timeout value in gummiboot.) In fact, it will be less reliable, because gummiboot, GRUB, and rEFInd all offer ways to adjust boot options on a boot-by-boot basis, which is very helpful when fixing problems. You can't do this with the direct approach.

  • HT203167 I had over 80 gigs of music on my ITunes - most of which is my own music some has disappeared and many duplications now present - what is going on

    1.   Albums disappleared - songs gone
    2.   duplicates all over the place not necessarily repeats or difference performances of which there are some
    3.   Luckily for me I have all my music on an external drive so as far as I am concerned it is not lost - however
how did this mess arise and how is this mess recitfied
    4.   Some of what has disappeared is music which has never been published - who chose and why to delete this

If you purchased all of the songs through itunes store, please follow these steps:
    1. Open up Itunes and Click on Itunes Store
    2. Once you're in the Itunes Store look to right side of the screen and you should see the word "purchased". Click purchased and you'll be sent to a purchase screen.
    3. Click on "All Songs" and then it will show all the songs you've downloaded. From there you just hit the button that looks like a cloud with an arrow on it, and it will download all the songs all over again.
If you didn't purchase them through Itunes, then you'll have to download software that will strip the songs from your iPod onto your computer. And here is a guide about how to copy iPod music. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.

  • Music library has disappeared

I have just noticed to my horror that my itunes library is empty. Looking in the trash I have found the songs listed individually amongst all the other rubbish. I had thought that perhaps I had mistakenly deleted the music or something equally stupid but now having fortunately found everything I wonder if anybody could advise. Firstly, I am surprised that the items aren't in a single 'my music folder'. Secondly, is the answer to drag everything back to the itunes icon. And thirdly, how did I manage to do this. I have recently updated itunes to the latest version, connected an iphone for the first time, and tried, unsuccessfully, to back up my music to an external hard drive. Thanks in anticipation.

Sorry if I've posted in the wrong place, still a newbie!!
I have windows vista, had no problems with itunes untill now. All my albums are still on my ipod on my iphone but they have all disappeared from my itunes library, its completely empty.
I've looked in the itunes file and that is empty too. Other than that I don't have any probs with my pc, but son't really want to have to import over 100 cd's again.

  • Music app has disappeared and i have tried everything please help

My music app is completely gone and i have no idea where it has gone. i have tried restarting, resetting, and other tricks but non have worked if u have an answer for me, i would really appreciate it.

Have you done a spotlight search? Swipe down from the middle of the screen with two fingers, and type Music in the spotlight search. You should see the Music icon display in the list. See if it is in a folder (if it is the folder name will be listed next to the icon). If it is not in a folder, but displays, see if you can find it on any of your Home screens.
If you still cannot find it go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. This will reset your Home screens and the original Apple core apps will show up on the first Home Screen (including Music).

  • The artists in music library has disappeared

After updating my iPhone 4 last time to iOS 5.1.1, I discovered that almost all my artists were missing from the artist menu, and the very few who were left, had almost no songs attached. The funny thing is, that all the songs HAS been transfered to the iPhone, because the other menues work just fine with all albums, songs groups and genres. It's been annoying me for months now, and I've tried updating the software again to iOS 6, restart it, restore it and I've even changed my computer since, to another apple model, and yet, nothing changes.
Have anyone else experienced the same problem? I would really love som help!
    Best regards Emma, Denmark

Try syncing all the music off your phone (by unchecking Sync Music on the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing), then sync it back on.

  • Help!! We downloaded iTunes 10 and our old music library has disappeared?

Is there any way to recover all the music in the old library that we had purchased before we installed the upgrade?

I suspect the music content is still there, and the itunes database just got messed up.
Nobody knows why exactly that happens on an upgrade. It's never happened to me, but you have lots of company. Enough so that Apple wrote this article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1967?viewlocale=en_US
Except - I would COPY that previous ITL file, not DRAG it like it says in step 7.
I make weekly backups of the ITL database file. More often if I've done lots of additions/edits, and ALWAYS before an itunes update.

  • "Saved" Book in LR4B has disappeared

Wondering how I can retrieve the book I was working on in Beta 4.  Working in Windows 7.  Had been able to move between modules okay, Library > Book > Develop, and back and forth and so on, and everything seemed to be working fine.  Had been able to click on the "saved" book I was working on and have it load properly while working on it, loading photos, configuring pages, etc., but now the book does not load.  It shows up in the menu, but all of the pages I had added and all of the photos and text that were "saved" are, alas, no longer there.  The film strip at the bottom still shows the photos that had been added as well as the photos yet to be added to the book,   Just no layouts of what I had done, just new , blank layouts.  Any help in retrieving what I have done up to this point?  Thanks

Just had my book project disappear from the LR4 book module. Wait, that's not entirely accurate. The book project is still in the collection and the filmstrip still shows the number of times each image is included in the book, but the book content is gone.
Here's my recreation of the last steps before the pages went missing.
I have two books in the collection- one intended for print, another for electronic publishing. The content is identical. Once I finish an area in version A, I mirror the steps in version B by jumping back 'n forth between collections to repeat the steps. I finished a final tweak on the manuscript- font size, color, leading, kerning, baseline, etc. in version A and was beginning to copy the manuscript over to version B by Copy/Paste when the book pages went away. The last step I performed: In version A on a full page of two column text- approximately 400 words, I highlighted the entire text (ctrl+a), copied the text to the clipboard (ctrl+c), then double clicked version B in the collections pane to changes sources. When version B opened there was a blank cover, and two blank pages in the workspace. When I double clicked back to version A, hoping to refresh the program, version B was identical to version A- blank cover and two blank pages. None of the steps I've tried to undo the glitch have worked.
Hopefully someone will come up with a fix for this. The information must still be embedded somewhere in the library. I just need LR to see it and call it back up.
In the mean time, I've got a couple of ideas people can use to help minimize the setback, should it happen to you.
1- Set your catalog backup to: Every time LIghtroom closes. Go to Edit>Catalog Settings... At the bottom of the pop-up under Backup choose: Every time LIghtroom exits from the dropdown menu. Click OK.
If you loose your work you can open the backup catalog and hopefully you won't have lost too many steps.
2- Save a PDF version of your book as you progress. At the bottom of the Left Module pane click Export Book to PDF... I'd recommend also not overwriting the PDF backup when you do this in case the export fails. Save at least one redundant backup.
If you loose your work and the back up isn't recent (or working), you at least have one copy to work from in PDF form.
3- Write your manuscript in another program, such as Microsoft Office or OneNote, then copy/paste the script into the pages in the Book module.
If you loose your work, it's just a matter of copy/pasting the copy back into the book once you rebuild it to that step.
Best of luck, and if anyone hears of a fix for this, please let everyone know.
    Best,
    CS

  • A bookmark folder with thousands of bookmarks I've saved over many years has disappeared and I can't find it in the bookmarks menu or recycle bin

I've also tried doing a restore by choosing the "Show all bookmarks" "Import and backup" "Restore" to a day earlier and the folder still didn't show up. When I tried to do this again using one of the many earlier dates I had seen that were available the first time, now only today's date is available. I've done searches and no folder by the name of the missing folder appears to be on my computer. I'm sure I didn't delete it and nobody else has access to my computer. I've used Firefox for many years and I've never seen this problem. I've checked in all the other bookmark folders and it's not in any of them. If I can't resore or find this folder, years of work and thousands of bookmarks will be lost. Any help or suggestions anybody might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Immediately backup your whole Firefox profile.
    * [[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]]
You will have over written your bookmarks database and it may be difficult to recover. You may at least have backups of bookmarks that are still usable but that is why you must back up the profile.
Create a new additional test profile using the profile manager. Next test the bookmarks from your backup restoring them into Firefox whilst open with and using the new test profile. If one of those backups works you should be able to restore that into your ordinary Firefox profile.
You may need to delete the database places.sqlite to get working bookmarks. But rename it rather than delete it as it is then easier to reverse. Note if you do need to delete the places database you will lose your Firefox History.
There is an alternative strategy but again ensue the profile is backedup. And in this case also backup separately places.sqlite before any recovery attempt.
The Windows OS should try to keep previous copies of Files and it is possible that you will have a usable previous copy of ''places.sqlite'' that may be recovered by options available from right clicking the current version.

  • Boot camp assistant has disappeared from Windows Tool Tray

While in windows my Apple keyboard quit working. I tried to update my drivers and now the Boot Camp icon is gone from the Windows Tool Tray (and my Apple keyboard is still not recognized)? The only way I can boot into Mac is restart Windows and hold down ALT key. What have I done? DOH!

If you have trouble in Windows, then it would seem logical to boot from that system's install CD.
It won't help to boot into OS X, will it? maybe if you want to make an image backup (clone, with WinClone) of your XP partition.
The "Apple OSSwitcher" boot camp tray icon, part of Boot Camp services you installed.
You could also run system file checker (in XP)
    CMD and then sfc /scannow
    also chkdsk
msconfig - check and see what startup and services are installed and loaded
Programs - to uninstall first, then reboot and install a fresh copy

  • Can I upload music from iPod to iTunes? My music has disappeared from my iTunes account, but still have it on iPod.

Music on my iTunes account has disappeared, but still have it on my older iPod; want to upload it to iTunes, but when I hook up to computer, iTunes wants to overwrite the iPod.  I fear I'll lose it all.  Any help?

    Hey blite923,
Thanks for the question. If these are purchased songs, you can transfer purchases from your iPod to your computer without syncing:

If you bought the iTunes Store content on your device using multiple Apple ID accounts, you'll need to authorize the computer for each one.
To transfer purchases from your device to a computer:
Connect your device to the computer. Wait for its icon to appear in iTunes.
Go to File > Devices. If you're using iTunes for Windows and can't see the menu bar, learn how to turn on iTunes menus in Windows.
Choose Transfer Purchases from [device name].
This feature works only for content bought from the iTunes Store. Any items that you imported from audio CDs or received from other sources won't copy from your device to the iTunes library. However, all podcasts from your device's Podcasts app and copies of all PDFs and books from your device's iBooks app will transfer to the computer. Learn how to transfer media to your iTunes library.
