Saves Embedded movies with Keynote file....

Even though I have the preferences set to not save movies and audio files with the Keynote file, it still does it. This is version 5.03.
Reason being are the movies are pretty high frame size and data rate and I want them to keep playing from my faster media drive from within Keynote.
I'm pretty sure this feature used to work fine.

Hello Apple? This is a bug and it has been a pain in the butt with very large embedded movies that save WITH the presentation no matter what. I am hoping this is getting addressed.

  • How do I move a keynote file from my computer to my ipad?

I have a Mac OS X version 10.6.8 and an Ipad version 7.0.6. How can I move a Keynote file from my Mac to my Ipad? I do not have Icloud on my Mac.

Have you tried e-mailing the Keynote file to yourself? You can then press and hold on the attachment in Mail and choose to open in Keynote. However the results may depend on your version of Keynote.

  • Imovie won't let me save my movie as a file, and it says ''startup disk'' is full!

I made a movie on Imovie and it won't let me download or convert, I don't know what else I can do, and also it says my disk is full, and my macbook is 64 and its impossible, i dont have that much. please help me. I want to save my movie and fix disk because is making my computer slower and doesn't let me save anything because is ''full''. I need to find a way to save the movie complete and as a file and make my computer faster and with it's original memory.
    HELP!.

I have the same problem and then some. I movie won't share this particular project, but it also won't save any changes made to it or any other project. At least that's what it started doing, now when I go to even try to make any changes it wigs out and things get scrambled in the Project window and it plays video from another project.
When I create a new project, the Share menu is available, but it won't save changes to that project either. And by that I mean I can put stuff in the project and do whatever, but as soon as I quit and relaunch the application, the project is empty. I did figure out that if I make changes in a new project and immediately share it to the media browser that it will save the changes, but then it messes up my other project even more somehow!
Tried archive and install, deleting plists, reinstalling iMovie and iLife support stuff (twice), repairing permissions, and changing permissions in the project package. Any other ideas?

  • Need action to save a copy with original file name with suffix

    Hi All,
I am using photoshop 7 (yeah its old, but working fine for me for general purposes). The problem is I have got this new task where I have to provide 3 copies of the same image but with different portions of it. I have several images (.jpeg) which I need to crop two parts of the image and save as two new image files. The requirement is that I need the copy images to bear the same name as the original and with a suffix to identify which cropped portion of the image is it. example, original file name is AB1001.jpg (1600x1200), 1st cropped image name to be AB1001_P.jpg (200x250) and the 2nd cropped image name to be AB1001_Q.jpg(100x180). I have around a 180 files, so need to do it in a batch, pls suggest how can it be done.
Any help in this regard is much appreciated.
    Regards
    Chhuppa Rustam

While a script would probably be best, photoshop 7 requires
you download a scripting plugin which may or may not install
in photoshop 7 depending on your version.
You can probably do what you want with actions. The file naming part
is not hard, but i have a couple of questions about the cropping.
Are all the images the same size and are the crops in the same position for each?
In other words on the P crop (200x250), is the crop in the same position on each
    image or different for each?

  • Embedding fonts in Keynote file for use on iPad

Is there any way to embed fonts into a Keynote file so they're usable/displayable on Keynote on iPad?
Or, is there a way to download fonts to the iPad?
I'd hate to have to recreate all my presentations with "stock" fonts.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Save for Web with Optimize File Size for Batch Process

I have a client who needs to be able to run a batch process on jpg images ranging in size from 600KB to 2.5MB optimizing their file size as close to 200KB as possible. The feature is included in Photoshop's save for web optimize dialog but it doesn't work for batch processes. If you record an action with the optimize to file size option set it processes all the images in the batch based on the quality settings required to resize the image you used during recording, meaning if the image you recorded was 1.5MB the quality setting might be 70 percent to hit the 200KB mark but that wouldn't be the correct quality setting for a 600KB file nor a 2.5MB file those would either be too small or too large.
I've done quite a bit of searching both online and in the photoshop scripting forums but I haven't been able to find anything that would point me in the right direction.
My client's paying for this work so if there's someone who knows how to script this who'd rather be paid than just do some pointing we can arrange for that quite easily.
Thanks in advance for your assistance and suggestions.
In case it's of importance we're using Photoshop CS4.

If you don't mind spending a few bucks on a shareware prog, Jpegsizer has the option to save to a filesize.
    You can find it here.
    http://www.tangotools.com/jpegsizer/register.htm
There is a free trial version, but you can't save files.

You are stuck with giving PS less than 70% of the RAM resources or else you will starve computer and it may crash.
And if you run any other programs at the same time it takes more computer resources to keep everything running.
If running huge files you don't have many options.  It may work better in CS5 or less as seems like every new version takes more horsepower, and CS6 sends a lot of work to the video card.

  • Anyone experiencing problems with Keynote files transferring from email?

Trying to open PowerPoint files, then store in Keynote.  Files won't open or transfer, all software is updated.

After research I downloaded an updated ACR 7.2
What exactly did you do? The best way to update ACR is to go to Help>Updates in the editor, which should have brought you to 7.4.

  • How do I save an edited movie with brightness, contrast adjustments

I am using Quicktime pro ver 7.6.4(518.35) and I love its editing features especially the rotation and brightness adjustment features. Is it possible to save a move with these edits so they will be view correct with the basic Quicktime player? I have a movie that I edited the contrast and brightness and resave it as its original MOV file. The new contrast and brightness setting show up when I play the video on the same computer that has my Quicktime pro on it. But, when I play it on another computer with the basic Quicktime player the movie reverts to the original Contrast and brightness. Am I doing something wrong? I even tried to export it to another format and lose the video portion of the movie.
I would hope that I could fully edit a movie save it and give it to my family so they can view it like it was edited. Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

Ok, after some searching, I found the export filter settings...
However, the exported video appearance does not match that of the source video with similar A/V settings.
Example 1 = Source video (.3g2) with A/V settings, recorded with screen capture software. *http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezvE6sUeUb0*
Example 2 = Source video with similar export filter settings (brightness/contrast) *http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tQYXWX17zQ*
When the video gets brighter, the brightness dims and when the video gets darker, the brightness increases... contrast settings seemed to be ignored.
All I can say is.. what the HECK?
It's pretty sad when I have to rely on screen capture software to get the desired result! Luckily the source video was taken with a cell phone, so there was no noticeable loss in video quality.

  • I have 3  h.264 files which i want to create a dvd movie with?

    hi guys
    i hope you can help.
i have 3 seperate h.264 files (video has been graded and colour corrected) which i want to put on a dvd as one seamless movie.
my friend did the exporting and had to do it in smaller chunks because it kept crashing his computer., the format he used was h.264, now its very important that i can create a dvd movie with these files to be viewed on a standalone dvd player..
how would do i this? most efficient method and preserve  good quality?

One thing to be aware of is when you burn a disk image in Encore, you'll end up with a .iso disk image file.  In the past I made the mistake of dragging the .iso file into the  dvd-r folder and burning it from finder.   This made it so it burned as a data DVD that didn't play on my DVD player.  In order to make playable copies of the DVD using the disc image you have to use the apple Disk Utility application located in utilities to burn a playable DVD.  Do this...
Open Disk Utility located in / Applications / Utilities /  Disk Utility.
Click Burn in  the tool bar at the top of the window and select your Adobe Encore disc image (.iso).
          3.  Select the Appropriate DVD burning drive and insert your blank disc. Make sure your disc is free of dust and fingerprints before burning to reduce the probability of failure.
         4. Click Burn to create your DVD disc.
         5. Remember to test your disc in several DVD players if possible before burning additional copies.

  • Linking rather than embedding movies

    Hi,
I have been using Keynote for several years and have always embedded my movies within my presentation (i.e., selecting "copy audio and movies into document" during the initial save). Despite embedding the movies, I still keep a local copy of each in the same directory.
I'd like to, at the very least, link to rather than embed movies in future presentations, but don't know how that will affect portability. I often create my presentation on one machine and present using another. To that end:
    1) Does anyone know how Keynote stores the location of media files that are not embedded? Are they absolute or relative?
    2) Also, is there any way to "undo" embedding in existing Keynote files for which I had selected "copy audio and movies..." the presentations were created?
    Thanks in advance.
    - Matt Walter

    >Someone probably knows better then me, but can't you
embed the font in the library and then refer to it programatically?
Yes, you can do this, but this is a bit kludgy in my opinion.
I'd rather not HAVE to know that there is a font in the library
that I need to use. I'd rather be able to take the font of a
textfield that I am already using and then use the font that is
already embedded in that textfield to create create new textfields.
Creating a font symbol in the library is just adding extra
weight to the SWF file. If I have a textfield on the stage that
already has the font outlines, then adding the same font to the
library is just extra weight. But again it's not just a weight
issue - I'd rather not have to know that the font is in the library
    to begin with.
I'd rather be able to say "Hey, you know that textfield on
the stage? well, use the same font for a new textfield? What's the
font that the textfield is using? I don't know and I don't care.
    Just use the same font."

  • Keynote files deleting after update to 10.8.4

I performed a small edit to a Keynote file today after updating to 10.8.4 last night (used the combo updater).  The file crashed during a presentation and I though "no big deal, I'll just re-open it."  When I went to find it, it was completely gone.  Vanished.
I booted up Time Machine back at the office, restored the file, and chalked it up to some fluke.  Then I edited a different Keynote file.  It kept popping error messages about not being able to locate media files and I eventually closed it.  Again, I went to find the orginal file to re-open and it too has dissappeared.  This time, Time Machine wouldn't even let me restore it from a backup.
I ran disk utility and it found minor errors in the volume bitmap and free space remaining.  So I booted to the recorvery partition and repaired successfully.
I'm up and running again, but my Keynote file is still missing.  I'm afraid to open Keynote again for fear of this happening again.
Is there any known issue with 10.8.4 corrupting the file system, particulary when opening and editing Keynote files?
(15 " Retina MBP, latest model with 768 GB)

    GordonGecko9:
    - First, make sure you back up all remaining Keynote presentations. Hopefully, you have a backup of the one that got deleted.  I had to get a copy from another folder. Once the file was deleted, Time Machine suddenly thought it was never there in the first place too.  That's right, the deleted file was also deleted from Time Machine--even months back.
    - Once you have backups of your files, run Disk Utility and see if there are any errors.  I had a few, so booted into the Recovery partition and repaired.
    - Remove all your Keynote .plist files from the directory: /Users/your username/Library/Preferences.  Your Library folder will be hidden unless you hold the OPTION key and then select the GO menu at the top.  You can just move these files out of that folder and keep them elsewhere if you want them again.
    - Check your console log to see if any errors were reported about the time of the crash.  I had some message about Flip4Mac confilciting with another video codec, so I deleted Flip4Mac.  Not sure if it mattered, but I didnt' really need it anyway.
    - Since you have backups of your files now, you can start playing around with Keynote again to see if your problem is solved.  Here is what I found:
    > After deleting the .plist files, I sill had issues after editing presenations.  The changes would take, but then when I went to save the file, I got an error message that the location couldn't be found.  When I chose "Save As" isntead, Keynote crashed.  However, when I rellaunced Keyonte, the file was saved in its orginal location. (Before I deleted the .plist files, the presenation was gone after Keynote crashed).
    > Subsequent edits and saves worked normally on the same file.  As I opened other presenations from the same folder in the finder, I got the same errors (crashing and file not saving).  But then, upon relaunch everything seemed fine.
It seems that something with 10.8.4 is causing directory errors with Keynote files.  When you go to save an edited presenation, it gets confused about where to put it and the file gets deleted instead.
Please keep me posted on if the above "fix" works for you and if you notice anything else.

Flash video is becoming popular because you can have a player embedded
in your web page that will stream video that will play on nearly any
browser without additional plug-ins. You can get decent quality at a
    decent size.

  • Can I Save My Movie in a Format that iDVD Doesn't Need to Re-Compress

I am looking to output 3 videos from AfterEffects (or some other app) and I want to save them in a format that iDVD won't compress or convert. In other words, I am hoping I can choose a format that allows iDVD to pretty much just grab my three videos and bundle them all up into single DVD (letting iDVD create menus so the individual videos can be selected through my DVD player). I just don't want iDVD to have to do any transcoding which could degrade the quality.
Or, should I save my movies with absolutely no compression (as in a "None" setting) and let iDVD have its way with them? I just don't want to run my video through 2 codecs.
I am in the U.S. so I need NTSC format. The disc will be standard def, no need for HD or anamorphic widescreen.
I am not finding the answer I need on Google or here, but I am sure it exists out there somewhere! Mostly, I have only found outdated FAQs and iDVDs very simplistic directions. Thank you for your time.

One can import mpeg 2 content into the pro apps / DVDSP /FCS 2 usually without any issues.
However, this is Not the case with iDvd'08.
To quote Sascha Segan of PC magazine:
Pros: Creates beautiful DVDs. Many themes and button styles.
Cons: No support for high-def content; no support for MPEG2 or DivX files.
Bottom Line: iDVD is an effortlessly easy, yet surprisingly, flexible way to create good-looking, standard-def video and photo DVDs.
