Saving a folder (or exporting)

can anybody advice me as to how to export and or save a PROJECT with images in it that I need for a presentation in Keynote?
I need to back this information up or export it in case of a problem and I'm not sure how to do this.
Is there a good way to get the organized images out of Aperture so they are saved?
Do I need to run a close or save in Aperture to save the database?
Thanks

Try trash your com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)

  • How do I import photos from my ipad that are not in the saved photos folder

I do have a saved photos album and was able to import those. However, I have several other folders and I can't figure out how to get the photos from my iPad to my new iMac. Or for that matter, into the saved photos folder. This is my first experience with iPhoto. Any help? Thanks!

If you want to remove all of your synced photos .....
Connect your iPad to your computer and launch iTunes.
Select your iPad under the devices tab in the upper right or in the left sidebar, if you have the sidebar enabled.
Click on Photos at the top of the iTunes window on the right.
Uncheck the "Sync Photos From" heading
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.
IF that doesn't work, create an empty folder on your desktop and call it "Empty Folder". Select that folder in the "Sync Photos From" heading in the photos tab of iTunes and then click on Apply. That will also remove all synced photos.

  • OS X not remebering last saved to folder

OS X not remebering last saved to folder. Repeated savings goes back to parent disc, not to last saved subfolder. What to do?

pcie can be fine, but each model card AND Mac Pro model have varying rules, and may want to research ahead. and see if there are better choices in both SSD brand AND PCIe (and costs vary wildly).
Newer PCIe flash storage card adapters work best on 4,1 2009 and later and can offer 1GB./ sec but need PCIe 2.0 or above to do so, your 16x slot.

  • Blog Entries Saved to Folder

    Hi all:
I hope those of you who have already used iWeb 2 can answer me. One of the worste thing of the previous version of iWeb was that when I added a new post to my blog and saved it folder, it saved AGAIN all the other unedited posts and pages too. Therefore, when I add the 301th post I have to wait for iWeb to save all the 300. And this is pure madness.
Can I save only the new blog entries with iWeb 2?
    Thanks,
    -Antonio

I have note tested this yet but I feel quite sure nothing has changed for you.
When you add an entry to your blog your blog's base page has changed it's content; you understand that it must regenerate and upload that page anew. Your archive page too has changed in the respect that it has had the last listed entry on the base page added to the top of it's parade.
It only makes sense that it would have to upload both of these. So I assume it is storing these as two basic pages. One of which, in your case, is extremely large, the archival one. It's true a better approach would be to save 300+ pages and just use url's, but apparently they have decided against this.
I might suggest that you make an entirely separate page for your archival construction and route to it from your base page, rather than letting iWeb take care of all of that for you. If your home-made archival page never changes, it won't upgrade.
So you have your base page with 5 or 10 entries, your archival page with say another 20 or so, then you have your mega-archive as a different blog page inside iWeb, and route user with a url at the bottom of the iWeb archive page.
iWeb isn't the best tool for all jobs. If I was that industrious and had a 300+ entry blog I'd use iBlog (which is a **** of a nice program) or blog.mac, also a great program. Just a thought.
    Good luck!

It looks like its downloaded it but I don't know how to access it. it says file are ready...down load files have been extracted and saved to folder....launch PS elements and open specific folder. it looks like it downloads. It then keeps taking me back to this page. Im not sure where to go next

if you have a win os you should have dl'd an exe and a 7z file.
put both in the same directory and double click the exe.

  • The file could not be saved in folder "Time Machine Backups"

I've tried to setup TM with several external drives (USB and Firewire) and I get the same results... the file "xxx" could not be saved in folder "Time Machine Backups". Any ideas?

Hi, and welcome to the forums.
If that's exactly what the message says, it's a new one. If it's actually "An error occurred while copying files to the backup volume" or "Aborting backup because indexing a file failed," see #C3 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum).
If not, see #A1 there for a handy widget that shows the backup messages from your logs. Download and install it, then copy and post all the messages for one backup attempt here.

  • Is there a way to prevent the the file list moving to the destination folder during export?

During export, the file list is moved so that the destination folder is visible. If I want to access another folder during export, it becomes almost impossible since as soon have I located the 'new' folder I want, the file list is flicked back to the export destination folder. There must be a way to stop this. I just can't find it!

Let's take the screen shot as an example. I might be exporting from the uppermost folder, "A9" to another drive which is perhaps ten or twenty lines further up in the folder list view. All fine and Dandy. The export starts and the view of the folder list will move up so that that folder to which I'm exporting is visible. Let's call that "Export A9".  Usually when I export, I want to be getting on with my next task. For the sake of of this example, let's say I want to be working on files within sub-folders in the bottom most folder, "testing 24-70". The folder list will have been scrolled up by LR so that the "Export A9" folder is visible. So, I scroll back down to "testing 24-70", but by the time I'm trying to click to see it's subfolders, LR will have scrolled me back up to "Export A9", hiding "testing 24-70". This will not be an issue for anyone with a compact folder hierarchy, but once you have several drives and a working folder hierarchy, the scrolling to the export folder hides any folders that don't happen to show after LR has scrolled to the export folder. This doesn't just happen at the start of the export, LR scrolls to the export folder with every new file it exports. It can make accessing the rest of your folder hierarchy during export nigh on impossible.

  • Saved Mail Folder

This is the third time that the Saved mail folder has gone. This is in my internet providers account.
The first and second time, it reapeared a few weeks later, but not all the mail was there. This thrid time it happened yesterday after about 21 updates from Microsoft.
How to I get it back on my mail page?
    Peg

    Hi,
You need to talk with your ISP. They may ONLY keep users emails for a number of days (say few weeks). Why not use Outlook (old Hotmail, old Windows Live mail - not Outlook in Office suite), Yahoo, Gmail .... I've never used ISP mail box because I may change ISP from time to time.
    Good luck.

  • 9930 Saved Message Folder problem

I bought a new 9930 when they were 1st sold and have upgraded to 7.0.0.374. My question/problem is that whenever I have to do a restart for whatever reason, all of the messages that were previously saved in the saved msg folder are GONE. I did find a way to get them back, which is if I save a new msg temporarily, then go back to the saved folder, and all of my saved messages are now there???  Is anyone else experiencing this and if there is a fix, could someone help me out...thanks.......

Open your mail folder & then go to Options click on it & click on Message display and actions , display style and change to Single Messages.

  • Saved Search Folder Doesn't Update

I've created a saved search folder, but it's not updating properly when I add new files to my machine. Here are the search terms:
    (kMDItemFSName ="*") && (kMDItemFSName !="temp") && (kMDItemFinderComment != "Ignore") && (kMDItemFSCreationDate > $time.today(-30)) && (kMDItemContentType = public.folder)
Occasionally it works, but most of the time it seems stuck showing only folders it'd perviously found.

Something went seriously awry in the date saved in the Raw Query part of user generated SavedSearches. See my reply to this post:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=10292658#10292658
What I did was to open my own RecentApps SavedSearch in Property List Editor and replace the faulty RawQuery with the one I copied from Apple's canned search. Not very elegant!
Be sure to let Apple know this is happening to you, and it matters:

  • Saving PSD files after exporting from Lightroom saves incorrectly

I've only recently moved to Lightroom from using Photoshop/Bridge together, so I'm not 100% sure how saving files exported from Lightroom should go. But here's what I experience:
Base edit of file within Lightroom
In library view, right click on image -> Edit in -> Open as Smart Object in Photoshop
Perform all my necessary edits and such
File -> Save As, and save it to another location as a PSD file (totally different HDD)
    Perform more edits....
Shortcut CTRL+S to save, and it saves it as the TIFF file under the location it was originally in within Lightroom
Eh...? Am I missing something. It should just save as the original PSD I created when I went "Save As". I have seen on a few occasions, immediately after "Save As", the file name resorts back to TIFF and not as PSD.
My settings for External Editing in Lightroom are as follows:
    File Format: TIFF
    Color Space: ProPhoto RGB
    Bit Depth: 16 bits/component
    Resolution: 300
    Compression: None
Does anyone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Also, to note, that sometimes I double click on the Smart Object within Photoshop to load Camera Raw and perform some edits, but not often.

Re Camera Raw being used to pass an image to Photoshop
    a) I am assuming this is independent of the Compatibility level in Preferences\File Handling DNG creation.
    b) Does the same apply to other photo editing software made by Adobe like Elements?.
Reply: Yes, the principle is the same. Photoshop Elements cannot read raw data either. That's why it has to be converted before it's opened.
    c) Assume that I have LR 5.7.1 and CS5. Is Camera Raw is still used to pass an image to Photoshop? If so, why is there a need to get LR to behave differently?
Reply: Camera Raw is used IF you choose the option to open anyway. Then Camera Raw will be used to convert the image that's opened in Photoshop. But since it is older than Lightroom some of the new adjustments might not be transferred to Photoshop. That's why there is a need to let the user make the choice.
    d) Sometimes it does seem as if Adobe might be using Camera Raw updates and process version updates to get consumers to change their habits, this includes having to buy subscriptions or having to change workflow to some ideal that somebody at Adobe or working with Adobe might have in mind.
Reply: The fact is that in the past, when a new version of Photoshop is released then all support and updates cease for the previous version. Since the introduction of the creative cloud, at least users of Photoshop CS6  get support for new cameras. They just don't get the new features. Yes, there's motivation to upgrade. Adobe is a business. What do you really expect?
    Re stacks
I find impossible to see collapsed stacks on the film strip. Stacks are only visible on the Library module and using a grid view; I don't say clearly visible because they are only recognisable by the label at the top left corner with the image count; I don't even think it is possible to change the colour of that label or the grey colour surrounding an image. Also I cannot name stacks. If I could name stacks, see them as virtual folders underneath a library folder and make them glaringly visible I would use them extensively.
Reply: The only reason I can think of that you are unable to see collapsed stacks on the filmstrip is if you have the filmstrip reduced in size to the point that Lightroom can't display all the icons. I'm able to see the collapsed stacks in the library grid view and on my filmstrip
Re storing your Raw files and processed files in separate locations
Assuming Raw files are negatives and Photoshop files are transparencies or prints, would you want negatives being handled/read on a regular basis? If anything happens to your negatives, you would never be able to produce another print or another transparency again.
Reply: The raw files or the negatives, as you put it, are never modified by Lightroom. They always remain in their pristine state they were in when they were imported. If I have a backup of that raw file then I can do whatever I want to the one in my working folder. Resetting that raw file so that it looks unaltered is just a click away.
I have worked extensively with databases and database systems, it is a standard feature of database systems to be able to choose where to store different database objects. I don't see why LR cannot do the same, it is a database after all. I do agree with both the OP and photo.
Reply: Well, I won't argue that point. If that's what you really want than lobby for it. It just won't get my vote because I don't see any real advantage.
If you read back through this quoted message you'll find that my replies are included. I don't know how to separate them out so they are highlighted properly. Read through it and think about it. But personally, I don't want to waste anymore time on this discussion because it isn't accomplishing anything in my opinion.

  • When exporting to HTML in Adobe Muse. It doesn't create a image/images folder when exporting.

    Hi
    PLEASE HELP!
When I export to HTML to upload the site on FileZilla, it doesn't create an images folder.
It did it before and thought it was just the 1 saved file, but then I tried the other websites I have done and it is doing the same thing.
It creates everything from text and the widgets but everywhere where there are images, is just blank.
Thanks to anyone who can help.
P.S. I love this software and has shaped my design skills. Thank you Adobe!

Don't be confused by the same names; there are 2 Justin's in this thread.
I'm sorry you took my post as an attack on the Adobe staff.  I was not passing judgement on the questions the staff asked, or the lack of additional staff response when they went unanswered.
Rather, I was expressing surprise/disappointment that the COMMUNITY did not provide any additional comments in a whole year.
It turns out there a several other threads (which is where I got the clue about the issue that I was having).
BTW, in my case I did move the images to the assets folder, and re-linked them.  However, I guess Muse keep track of the fact they were in the images folder originally and consequently did not subsequently export them.
I would think an option for a fresh/full export (as is provided for the FTP) would be a good enhancement to Muse.

  • How do i save Images from the "Saved Photos" folder in my iPad

I have no idea how to save the images that i save while surfing the net or emails.
They are saved to a folder in my IMAGE build in app called "Saved Photos", but i don't know how to get them out of my iPad.
Does anyone know how do do this?
    Thanks

Very simple, open up my computer and the iPad icon should be displayed just like any other drive. When you open it up it will than say internal storage. then a folder, mine is labeled DCIM like many camera folder names, that is where all your saved photos are. i think you can only copy them from the folder to your hard drive, and you have to delete them on the iPad. i guess you can say it treats it like a huge flash drive but just with your saved photos

  • PDF XChange annotations are not saving (temp folder problem?)

    Hello,
I'm having a problem with the XChange PDF viewer within Firefox:
When annotating a file outside of Firefox, I can save the changes and have them reappear
when I close and re-open the file
Doing this inside Firefox, I cannot, it appears that the files are saved, but they do no
reappear on re-opening. This is true even when annotating a file that is opened from my
hard drive (as opposed to opening it from a website)
Doing this inside IE, it works properly. However, I need to use Firefox here at work
instead of IE or XChange separately.
I believe the problem lies in the fact that when XChange/FF open a pdf inside FF, a file
is created in C:\Temp and the changes are somehow being lost here. Interestingly, if I
take the file opened within FF and open it in XChange outside the browser (by using the
button in the bottom left of the viewer pane) I _still_ cannot save my changes, and I now
get an error message along the lines of:
    ‘Error saving document to “c:\Temp\pdf38.tmp”:
Error [IO subsystem]: Invalid access mode’
where 'pdf38.tmp' is the name of the temp folder created when the original file was
    opened within FF.
I didn’t have these problems a few months ago, so it’s something to do with the new
versions of XChange and FF. Please let me know what you can do to fix this. I really
like using XChange, but if this can’t be fixed I’ll have to switch to something else to
    do my work.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== Reinstalling latest versions of FF and PDF X-Change

I wrote a ton of notes and I freaked out when it didn't work so I emailed the pdf to myself, and its the current version with all the notes that I had just taken.
try it out! it worked for me
